It’s impossible to go wrong with this author or this series. I’m thrilled to be brought back into the Consulate and meet another Master. While each of these books could be read as a standalone, I love that we learn a bit more with each installment and get a peek back into our beloved past characters. This author truly is a master of her own right with creating otherworldly delicious characters and sucking the reader into another world of her own making. If you like your male characters to be dark, dominant, sexy, and passionate, read this entire series now!

Oh, how I loved this book! Such a great story of judging a book by it’s supposed cover! The story of CC and Brant is fantastic read! The characters are well developed, and it gives more back story into previous characters mentioned. The friendships are very easy to relate to and the women building each other up is lovely to read and visualize. I want to be friends with these people and live in their town! The old people humor cracks me up and makes me think that I haven’t been around enough of them, LOL This was a fun book to end my year reading! Looking forward to reading more books from the Parker Lake area soon!
All I can say is wow. This Book and series is a must read. I don’t normally read this genre but i gave it a go, I was not disappointed. Im sad this book is over, I’ll have to read more books by this author for sure.

Like the first 2 instalments in this series, this book is equally as emotionally invested yet humorous. I love this writing style and just wish it wouldn’t finish. Brant and Colleen have great chemistry and had me right there with them as their story unfolded- laughing, crying and everything in-between. This series could be read as stand alones but I would definitely recommend starting at book one, its worth it.

Such a fun, light-hearted, enjoyable read! Perfect balance of both Paranormal and Romance for me. Katrina and Gabe had cute yet sexy chemistry, the plot was well rounded and enjoyable, and the overall writing style from this author had me finish the book in one sitting. After some heavy reads, it was nice to read a romance book with some laughs- definitely recommend.

This was such a fun read! This Author truly does paranormal humor like its nobody’s business. Each story has you laughing, swooning, and wishing you had your own supernatural life to lead! This story introduces us to Katrina the Succubus and Gabe the Incubus. Katrina is doing all she can to be free from Hell and escape Satan by denying her Succubus ways and being abstinent. Gabe was freed from Hell by Satan, but has now become more peace and love than sex. A very unlikely pair with a humorous rivalry, but fierce attraction.

This was a entertaining light read. I am new to this authors work and I truly enjoyed it. This gives a fun twist to dating apps. With demons and satan and spice. This gives a comedic twist to the supernatural that has you rooting for love. It was great to receive a happy ending in the twist an turns of the demonic world. I had not read this amazing author, until this book, but I am so glad that I got started with this treat. This was the perfect book to end the year with. I loved their writing style, and how the story progressed, the characters were wonderful and everything flowed so well! Loved it!
For me it was each of the characters and the personalities they withheld that made me fall in love so quick. Each had a heart, and different emotions as well as their own zest to what ever level spiciness you would consider them to have. The engagement was very strong with this novel I found, I was hooked very early on and the curiosity and want to know more just continued to rise more and more! As said, flowed through ever so nicely. I really enjoyed the technique and word play of the writing!
Katrina brought on the spice oh so well. And Gabe, his hotness alone could make my kindle swear! I loved his determination and how things seemed to go along and progress between the two of them. It seemed at times they both got more than they bargained for! Loved their chemistry and attractions on every level they had for one another! Really great read and absolutely freaking loved this book and author!
Loved this book, as I have hoped I have made clear. I loved the writing of the author and how the story flowed. The author has now gained a consistent stalker haha. Happy to say this is a must read for sure1 I do very much recommend this book and author highly! Not one to be swiped left!

Master Trentino is a vampire and a part of the Consulate of Vampires, he rules his area in a fair and honourable way and is known for his strength and loyalty, so while on a mission to find someone, instead of the place being empty as he expects, the woman he finds there is more alluring to him than anyone before. Angel is one of a large family, but she can hold her own with her other siblings and can definitely fend for herself, she also has psychic powers which she uses to help others, however, one night she is surprised to find a man in her home whom she doesn’t know who gently accosts her and then lets her go before disappearing, but he doesn’t disappear from her life.
After doing his research into the woman and her family, Master Trentino has to go back for another look and maybe get to know her a bit more, but that plan goes out of the window when he finds her in a pool if blood at the foot of the stairs and not alone, there are other dead bodies there and another enemy of Trentino’s which he has no issues with dispatching for what they have done. Angel is coming down the stairs one minute and on the floor and struggling to breathe the next, she cannot understand what is happening, all she knows is that she is surrounded by darkness and being held by a man she doesn’t know.
As her life slips away, Trentino takes the matter into his own hands and decides to turn her, he cannot just let her die in this way before he has a chance to explore the connection which is undeniably there, so he does just that and then takes her back to his home to transition and then recover while he notifies the Consulate of what has happened. When Angel comes around, she has no idea where she is or what she has now become until Trentino explains it to her, but all her life she has been brought up to hate vampires and all they stand for, however, she cannot deny the attraction feels towards Trentino and how it increases everyday, meanwhile, the Consulate need to figure out how sensitive information has been leaked, who has been leaking it and why.

Are you kidding me??? This book was a whirlwind of emotions. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I have so many questions I am so happy I already have the next book in the series because I absolutely need to know what happens to this group of people next. I NEED MORE ASAP. I was so engulfed with this book that at one point my boyfriend was like “hey can you stop reading and pay attention to me” I literally couldn’t put this book down it was THAT good. I am so deep into this world that I couldn’t get out even if I wanted to. I feel fear and worry and intense love it makes my own heart swell just reading about the love that these two share. I am excited but also terrified by these characters all while falling in love with each of them. I do recommend reading the first book in the series as there is a lot to unfold within this Mafia world and the backstory of each character is so intense and deep you just gotta read the books to fully get it all. I have a feeling each book will just get better and better cause I thought I loved the first one but this one I devoured faster than my Christmas cookies after I officially end a diet. There was no stopping myself once I got into it. I may or may not be in love with Enzo myself. The way Mckinley writes these characters there is just no way to not fall in love with them. The men are passionate and strong and overprotective and there is just something so compelling about a man who loves you so hard and will die fighting for you and rescue you in any situation that is just irresistible. And don’t even get me started on these firecrackers of woman in this world. The ladies are strong yet gentle and beautiful. They band together in times of need, fight hard and love harder. I am in awe of these ladies. This series is a must read in my opinion.

O.MG. This book captivated me from the very beginning. I was sucked in so fast it made my head spin. The writing was so beautifully done, descriptive, and flowing that it all played out like a perfect movie in my head. I felt like I was there witnessing everything in real-time. There were so many characters to keep up with but I loved every minute of learning about each new character and seeing how they all fit in to create this absolutely chaotic mafia world.
I haven’t gotten too much into mafia romance before but this series is gonna make me want more of it I can already tell just from this first book.
This book was very much a fast-paced page turner with twists I did not see coming which was nice cause I love a good surprise and they just kept on coming. I felt so many emotions while reading this from fear to rage and worry to even love. This book was so good I adored the way the relationship unfolded so genuinely and perfectly. It is one of those relationships where it is just meant to be no matter how you look at it and I cannot wait to devour the rest of the books in this series. Amy Mckinley has a way of writing intense fight scenes that actually scared me then turning it around and write an equally captivating romance scene that makes me feels all the angst and as if im the one fighting to fall for the sexy mystery Mafia guy. Uhhh this was just so good. If you want fight and fury read this. If you want passion and power read this. If you want true love that you’d go to the ends of the earth fighting for read this. Its got it all.

This author has done it again! Another five-star read from one of my new favourite authors! Just like the first and second in the series this third, Born in Darkness, has blown my mind and it was an unput-a-downable read. The author knows how to make her writing addictive and keep you wanting more. The history she gives her characters helps to keep you wanting to come back and to continue to read other books in not only this series but also this author’s other books as well. Although this book is part of the series I feel it could be read as a standalone because of the background of the characters given but I would still highly recommend reading the others in the series! She could write anything, and I would 100% read it! I absolutely cannot wait until the next book is in my hands to read because I will be dropping everything, just like I did with this third in the series, and reading it immediately.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book in this series of paranormal romantic comedies. It can be read as a standalone story, however, I recommend reading the previous books as they are a fun read. This story is a lighthearted, funny romance featuring ‘supes’, with an enemies to lovers theme. Succubus Katrina is trying to ignore her demonic urges so that Satan will eventually forget about her, and then she will be free, this means no sex! Katrina spends her time helping the ‘supes’ of New Orleans with their dating by introducing, ‘Swipe Right to Bite’, “the best and only hook-up app for the supernatural”. Then Gabe, an insufferable incubus turns up in Big Easy and ruins Katrina’s plans. Although Katrina tries to get rid of Gabe, she can not deny their instant attraction, and Gabe, feeling the same, is not going to leave easily. I loved the characters, as usual they are unique, likeable and relatable, making me feel engaged in their stories. The chemistry between Katrina and Gabe really came across in the story and led to some steamy scenes, eventually! As usual the descriptive narrative really brought the supernatural setting to life and I felt fully immersed in Big Easy. The great world building, intriguing characters and the funny, romantic storyline all made this a page turner which I definitely recommend.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this novel and I was not disappointed. It was nice to be back in the small town of Parker and with the group of friends who live there. This was Colleen “CC” Chandler‘s story, having always lived in her small home town, working as a hair stylist, her unstable upbringing had left her lacking in confidence. When Brant Billings accepts a job in Parker, Oklahoma as a nurse practitioner at the towns clinic his plan is to only stay for three years, to earn enough to pay back his student loans. Being raised as a foster kid he’s used to moving on, however, that was before he met CC, the only problem was she seemed to be avoiding him. Meanwhile, CC feels that she is ‘only’ a hairdresser and thinking that Brant is much smarter than her and will only be around for a short time, she try’s to ignore the instant attraction she has for him and avoids him. Brant and CC are brought together when CC’s friends buy her a date with Brant at the towns eligible bachelor auction. I was cheering the couple on, hoping they would be able to overcome their pasts and get the HEA they both deserved. I loved CC and Brant and how their relationship developed over time. The chemistry between them really came across in the writing. As usual, the setting came alive by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in small town living, in Parker. I enjoyed ‘catching up’ with characters from the previous novels, however, it can be read as a standalone story. An enjoyable and engaging read.

Wow! This author amazes me time and time again, she’s one of my all-time favourites. She’s one of those one click authors for me, I will read anything by her without question!
This is the sixth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series, a series that can easily be read as standalones but I would highly recommend the whole thing anyway because this is honestly one of the best paranormal series I’ve ever read.
The characters in this storyline are so captivating and were so easy to connect with, I found myself laughing along with them and giggling at their witty remarks. I was honestly entertained the whole way through, so much so that I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading as I was so immersed in the story forgetting all about the real world.
I highly highly recommend this book to anyone looking for their next one of a kind comedic paranormal read!

I am not a huge fan of historical romance I find it hard to stay concentrated but this book was good. Jacek is a soilder and a pretty good one and his only goal is to progress in his military career so he does not have time for romance. When Jacek rescues a beautiful woman called Oliwia and her brother, Jacek didn’t realise how mesmerised he could be by a woman. Oliwia has secrets of her own and things seem to be piling up against the couple that makes it seem almost impossible for their love to bloom.

Oh, sweet heavens this book was just as good as the first two which are a must-read for this series. The intensity, fear, love, drama I loved it all. I have loved getting to know more characters in this world Mckinley has created. I had suspicions of who the rat would be and watching everything unfold was thrilling and totally captivating. I was not sure how things would work out I was genuinely nervous reading it all go down. I felt like I was in the middle of this circle of the Mafia Five Families and I ate up every second of it. The forbidden romance in this was so touching yet steamy. The stolen kisses and touches ugh had me weak in the knees and when they finally get together it feels like all is right in this world. This series is making me want to find a Mafia Boss of my own. 5/5 Cannot wait to devour the rest of this series as it releases this year.

Born In Darkness is the third book in the Mafia Elite series and the first book that I have read in this series. Even though I had not read the previous books, I had no problem following along. I liked the strong theme of family and the way the author contrasted the families in the book. There is also a nice portrayal of strong women and friendship. It is a quick read and though I am not usually a fan of alternating character points of view, I found that this book flowed very nicely and I did not at all mind the alternating points of view. If you enjoy forbidden romance and/or mafia-themed books then you should give this book a read.

Fun next installment in the engaging saga of the consulate
3rd novel in the series which should be read after books 1 and 2, as the series has an overarching storyline that we get bits of along the way. Here we continue to have a story that switches POV between the two main characters.I do enjoy that it is first person narrative and that we get more insight into their thoughts and actions this way.
Here we’re introduced to Mr. No first name Trentino and Angel. Angel ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time and he has to save her. This is sort of a love at first sight romance, but its not done too fast. I like that the pair continues getting to know one another after they’re paired. The sex scenes are more sensually done than graphic in their telling, which I enjoyed. There’s some spice, but not too much to draw the focus from what’s going on with the vampires and who’s sabotaging them.
We do get to see more of the characters from the previous books, and get caught up on how the couples are doing. I really enjoyed the ladies (Lucianna, Delilah, Embry, and Angel’s) interactions, them supporting one another and having fun together too. I really can’t wait to read a story from Embry’s POV (fingers crossed).
I enjoy this series, hence why I keep on reading them upon release, but I’m finding the same issues occurring. I previously mentioned my problem with them transporting vast distances, and my statement stands here. Why have the vampires sneaking around and trying to find a way in to a place when they just transported to that location in the first place?

Our sexy succubus Katrina is determined to send Gorgeous Gabe the incubus packing to whatever Hell he came from, but is sidetracked by his luscious form. As a sex demon on the wagon, she is trying her mightiest to keep everyone’s clothes on, but the temptation for both is more than they bargained for (literally). The humour is very tongue-in-cheek and the witty puns are rampant in this story, similar to other works by Pulkinen. If you have read and loved any of her other works, you will find this book just as delicious. Fans of quirky humour and steamy romance will enjoy this saucy story.

Swipe Right to Bite is the sixth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is such a fun, sexy, and humorous Paranormal Romance. I have loved every instalment in this wonderful series- which just seems to get better and better with each new addition. This book was a particularly fun read. With her popular dating app for the supernatural trending in New Orleans, Katrina is enjoying her success. Her plans are coming together nicely- but with her freedom still at stake she will need to maintain her fasting vow- not so easy for a succubus with quite a healthy appetite. But as fate would have it, she is soon thrown a curveball, in the form of a sexy incubus named Gabe. The sparks fly and things get quite heated- making for an intriguing and very fun read. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Katrina and Gabe are hilarious and their chemistry is insane! This book is so great. Not only does it have romance and the supernatural, it’s laugh out loud hilarious. Katrina and Gabe are each pissed off at the other when they first cross paths but there’s also an undeniable attraction between them. They both have a past they’re trying to escape from and the devil doesn’t want either of them to be happy. Watching them both work to best the devil was great and watching them fall in love was even better. The ending was unexpected and so perfect it really made me smile. I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for more books from this author.

This story hit home during this time of year. Overcoming the bottom of the bottom and taking the chance of failing in life for love. Sam is a beautiful character and he is dark and fabulous. How one phone call can change your life, for the better! This is a quick and enjoyable read and I am here for this entire series. This author has an amazing way of quickly building an addictive world. This book is number five of the series but honestly this book felt like a Stan alone to me. I am glad I chose now to read this book as it matches the setting. I look forward to reading the other books to this series. Dark is an excellent way to describe this character and world that has been created.

Loved Loved Loved this book and definitely could not put this down until the very end. The very beginning had me pulled into the story and this book gave me roller coaster of emotions of the highs and lows. Jared, a rock star, wants nothing more to make sure his father is taken care of. Madison is a caring and compassionate caregiver to Jared’s father. At first, when Jared and Madison meet, there is some friction. When you read more into the story there is so much more!! I could just go on and on about this book but do not want to give away any spoilers. I can say this book is definitely worth the read. Fantastic Contemporary Romance with sweet and emotional moments.
