This book uses a somewhat common theme – the ability to communicate with and see the dead. However, it spins this theme into an unexpected romance, and it works better than you would think! I enjoyed this easy read, especially how the two characters, Scott and Zelda, developed throughout the books. Both had satisfying stories and character growth, and there were twists that I definitely didn’t expect! There were times that I thought the book was over and questions were being left unanswered, but all the loose ends were tied up by the end! I would definitely recommend this book!
I truly enjoyed Check Out by Debra Parmley. It felt like I was treating myself to read it.
Betsy is a librarian in her local library. She has some trouble getting along with her family and struggles with her past. Nash is an injured veteran suffering from PTSD from his time in the military – he is new in town, jaded, and mysterious. They are interested in one another, but Betsy thinks it is best to wait to get to know each other better while she awaits a visit from her younger sister, Leeann. Once her sister shows up with news she may have a stalker, we find the catalyst that draws Nash and Betsy to one another.
I’d like to see where the relationship between Nash and Betsy goes, as the book ends pretty abruptly. That being said, this was a good read with characters that drew me in and kept me interested. It is pretty quick to get through, and the author has a 2nd book in the series that extends into a story with Leeann after this ends. I will continue to read Debra Parmley!

Check In offers suspense, romance, camaraderie, a POV of someone with some past trauma due to being in the military and the things he saw, and great pointers on what you need to pay attention to in the case of a crime being committed around you. The characters are likeable and relatable. I didn’t care for the implication that the robbers were not sober, but it wasn’t overtly stated.
Len and Leann offered a lot of input via their inner voices, which was a nice way to explain a lot of backstory and former trauma, why they react the way that they do, as well as show the ways they complement each other. This is a quick, easy read – can definitely put it away in one sitting. I enjoy Debra Parmley’s use of detail to draw you in, and am looking forward to seeing more from this author.

Belinda Williams does it again! Spoilsport is the 2nd book in the Pierce Brothers series. I feel like this book can be read on its own despite being apart of the series. The story of Luke and Nadia is lighthearted, fun and sexy. The plot is well written, the story has great energy and its just an easy read! A page turner forsure! Well done!

Love’s Reverie is the second book in the Stardust Duet Series. K.G. Fletcher, again, delivers with her wonderful character building and vivid descriptions of the small-town life in the present day and in the past. I read the first book of this series and was impatiently waiting to read this one. Fletcher did not disappoint. Love’s Reverie was full of ups, downs, twists and turns along the way. The love between Kat and Phillip is a love that we all hope to find one day. With the added element of time travel, this book was captivating from start to finish. I look forward to reading more books by this author!

Blood Oath is book two by Amy McKinley in the Mafia Elite series. I absolutely loved the first book and the second one did not disappoint! This story follows Sofia and Enzo in an epic friends to lovers romance. I loved both of these characters so much, they fought so hard for each other during the entire story and I’m so glad they got their ending! Just like the first one this book had me on the edge of my seat. It was exciting, spicy and you could feel the emotion coming off the pages. Their willingness to sacrifice so much for each other had me wanting to sob at certain points. Amy McKinley knocked another one out of the park with this!
This book was sweet, fun romantic comedy about Luke and Nadia. The head strong Nadia has no time for a relationship nor games. After a one night stand with Luke, it was all she wrote. Nadia finds out that Luke was separated from his now ex-wife and she feels like she was lied to. Luke takes life seriously and after one night with Nadia he left his guard down. Luke felt so much spark with Nadia it was hard for him to forget. When Nadia purchases her own home, it becomes more of a hazard. When Luke helps Nadia to fix up her home, her intentions are just that. All business. The banter between Luke and Nadia just made me laugh, she is so head strong, he is serious business. Will Nadia loosen Luke up with this but yet let love come in ? Definitely read this book and find out. I thought this story was light, cute and enjoyable.

I have really loved all of the Default Distraction books from the get go but, this sucker really took the cake! LUKE has to be the absolute favorite of mine of them all. I really enjoyed him for sure and his daughter Brielle as they fell in love with Nikki, who I also quickly fell in love with. I usually love Rockstar romances but AS Roberts really does a fantastic job of making her characters believable. Even the rockstars. That is not an easy task and I can always relate to them as well which I just love when I read romance novels. These books can all be read as standalones but I would recommend that you read them in order for the maximum enjoyment. Everything really builds and blends so well as you go in my opinion. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Ms. Roberts.

This book was so sweet! The characters were so relatable, and I loved watching the relationships build. Leann’s growth was amazing to watch! Seeing the very real responses to the conflict was just amazing to read. Honestly though, the story just gave me warm fuzzies seeing the relationships and growth happening!

Ms. McKinley has done it again! Having read the first installment of this series No Way Out I knew right away that I wouldn’t be able to wait when the second installment hit my Kindle. Sofia and Enzo’s story is not an easy one but it does make for a great mafia romance. Filled with drama, suspense, chemistry, secrets and more Ms. McKinley sure knows how to hook her readers. Sofia so desperatly wants Enzo to choose her but how can he given the life style they are in? Will love conquer with this couple or will their lifestyle and danger get in the way? You’ll have to read Blood Oath by Amy McKinley to find out for yourself.
‘Come Back Tomorrow’ by Amy Argent follows clinical psychologist Tori Somerset as she befriends cancer patient Will Everson who seemingly has given up on life and surrendered himself to a fate of being alone. If wholesome and sweet romances are your bread and butter, then this book isn’t one to miss- Tori and Will’s relationship is beautifully written and incredibly compelling. It’s not hard to see why the pair are destined to be together as they treat each other with kindness, respect and courtesy. Despite the book primarily taking place in a single place, it manages to feel much larger in scale- Tori’s big heart and Will’s sarcastic wit going leaps and bounds further than the confines of the hospital. Their chemistry is palpable and their affection towards each other is undeniably evident, which makes Will’s dire circumstances all the more heart-breaking. Despite the genre of the book, Argent refuses to shy away the ugliness of cancer and the massive toll it can take on a person’s health, and the story is all the more stronger for it- other novels with similar premises tend to sugar-coat or romanticise the illnesses they portray but ‘Come Back Tomorrow’ doesn’t fall into this trap. Argent thoroughly and clearly describes the way the cancer has affected Will- not only on his body but also on his mind, emotions, perspective and relationships.
A romance novel is only as good as its romantic leads and ‘Come Back Tomorrow’ doesn’t disappoint. Will has a penchant for painting, cats and comics and, beyond his understandably aloof exterior, he is arguably kind to a fault- willing to sacrifice his own comfort and happiness so as to not trouble and sadden the people he cares about. Tori is similarly compassionate- not only is her very career predicated on the notion of helping people but she does so in her spare time, which is what leads her to Will in the first place. She spends her time befriending those who seemingly have a very limited support system to assist them during their illnesses- bringing light and love to those who need it the most. These two truly good souls are a match made in heaven, and it’s a delight to read about their journeys to each other.
In conclusion, if you’re in the mood for a sweet and compelling romance, then ‘Come Back Tomorrow’ is a book you’re not going to want to put down.

This is the second half of the series from KG Fletcher. I was just as satisfied with this book as I was with the first. The characters are just as unique here, and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. We start right where the last one ended. Phillip decides to follow Kat into the future and potentially get his happily ever after. Brand new identity to avoid anyone realizing he’s a time traveler? Check. An altercation with Spencer AGAIN? Check. Surprises that cause everything to go wrong more than once? Check. I have read multiple time travel novels. I stayed away from them for a long time out of fear that they would all have the same premise and not keep my attention. I am so thankful that these books crossed my path and will gladly be reading any and everything that I can get my hands on by this author. If you’re looking for something that will keep you engaged from page one until the very end, these are most definitely the stories for you. If given the opportunities and challenges they were given, what would you do? Grab both halves of the story today! You will not be disappointed!

Mark and Lauren are two people on different paths in life until their best friends get married and they find themselves spending the night together. Of course, they THINK that it’s a one and done kind of thing until they find themselves drawn to each other again and again and – you got it- again. In the turmoil of them trying to figure out how to work together to both achieve a relationship that will work, secrets come to light on both sides. When push comes to shove, they have to decide if they will be able to work through their pasts in order to make a life together.
I feel like Ms. Hanna did a wonderful job of writing Mark and Lauren’s story in finding love. I was drawn to the Lauren and her girl friends’ friendship. While I could not particularly identify with Lauren, I have many friends who, I imagine, could. Mark was- what I think- a typical man who has been on his own for too long, playing by his own rules would be like. I enjoyed getting to see his world get rocked by Lauren.

So, this is the first book I have read by this author, so I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting my hands on. However, I am a sucker for Christmas stories and a friend was reading it, so I thought why not. I’m glad that I did. Since I have finished this book we have had a couple of conversations over coffee about how much we loved it. It’s a wonderful, heartwarming family story. The holidays seem to be a time in the lives of family with strained relationships that can make it hard on everyone. And sometimes the holidays are just what’s needed to bring families back together. This book is filled with some of that sort of family drama and how love can help mend broken hearts. This is a very “clean” book in that there is no bad language or sexual filled scenes. There are some religious undertones in the story but nothing more than some scriptures. I liked this book and recommended it for anyone looking for a charming Christmas story.

This is book 6 in the Billionaire Bodyguards series. This is the first book I have read, it can easily be read as a standalone book…. but it does intrigue me to go back and read the others to find out how we got to where we are. This is Nick and Allie’s story. Allie is a nurse who from the start puts her patients and fellow staff first. An accident has her rushing to the hospital leaving a dinner party of her best friends. Nick does security and after meeting previously, has not been able to get Allie out of his thoughts. He personally decides to take over Allie’s security detail. Will Allie let him protect her? Will Nick be able to protect her from the dangers that are lurking? I feel like I bonded with the characters in the book. The writing flows in a way that you don’t realize how long you have been immersed in their world.

I originally picked up this title as a light little Halloween read. My first story by Naomi Valkyrie, I was immediately sucked into the beautiful world she’s created. There’s something really beautiful about a love story set against the backdrop of death. I felt myself reminded a bit of Egyptian mythology, which made the story even richer for me, personally. Acheron is a Vulture shifter- he touches and cares for the souls of the dead. Because of this, he’s seen as unclean, and he stays to himself. When he takes a job in the city, he finds himself drawn to Errapel, who is nursing the soul headed for death. By law, Acheron cannot take a mate, but as the two work together, we find ourselves wondering if the law is enough to keep them apart.
Truthfully a gorgeous short story, bursting with a myriad of emotions and brilliant storytelling. I really enjoyed Naomi’s storytelling, even though I’m not generally a sci-fi reader. She will definitely go on my “Always read,” list after this stunner of a story.

Who doesn’t love a romance with a little spice? The chemistry between these two kept the story interesting and me glued to the Kindle. I love a good romance story. This one was like going out with girlfriends. It was written like your best friend was sharing some of her best romances with you. They have some challenges to face, a few strong ones; but together they make it through even stronger. What starts as a one night stand can develop into an amazing love. It’s a quick read and will give you some heartfeels. It was a great read for short weekend. Loved every minute of the book. Highly recommend.

Its the continuing story of Enzo and Sofia who have known each other for a long time. They are both involved in the Mafia lifestyle so they have a lot in common but when tragedy strikes they are split apart. Sofia has moved on and is now doing her dream job of designing clothes. Enzo knows that he has always put Sofia in danger but has done everything he can to protect her. Now Sofia is told she is in danger again. Sofia has always been in love with Enzo and she will do anything she can for him. Will their love tear each other even further apart and will they end up paying for it with their lives? Read Blood Oath to find out! I can’t wait for the next book!

In this book Luke needs a nanny for his daughter and Nikki needs a job. Nikki becomes Luke’s nanny. Nikki and Luke feel an instant attraction for one another. Luke struggles with his abandonment issues. Overall a good romance story. I liked Nikki as a character. This is the first book I read in this series. I might go back and read the others.

This is the third book in the series. I have enjoyed all of the books so far. I really liked getting to see more of Zelda and Scott’s relationship. We learn more of how Zelda feels about not being able to see ghosts. This was a pretty heavy book with all that goes on during it. I cried because I felt bad for Zelda and Scott. Overall a good series with an interesting theme.
Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams. This is such a fun series! This book was so good. Its the story of Nadia Alvarez who loves men but doesn’t want a relationship at all. Nadia’s new house is a money pit so what she really needs is a repairman. She had a guy that could fix her house but she made the mistake of having a one night stand with him. Luke is a divorced dad and a builder who is very serious about everything in life. He can’t get the dark haired beauty out of his thoughts but he knows she doesn’t want a relationship and that’s what he wants. He’s trying hard not to obsess over her but he can’t control it. Nadia tells him he can fix her house but he needs to not mention their one night stand at all! Will Luke be able to knock down her walls and get her to try at a relationship? Read Spoilsport to find out. This book can be read as a standalone but its much better reading the first one!

Of course, I loved it (can I note that I am not normally a huge paranormal fan, but Barrett has written this series in such a way that it doesn’t have me rolling my eyes for how unrealistic ghost stories tend to be… like, I can actually imagine this all happening to someone as it’s being told. COLOUR ME IMPRESSED!) but I am now impatient for the next installment as there was a teaser at the end and it did its job. It teased. I have been teased. Now I want the book! This installment followed Scott and Zelda again as they went through their lives; their family fuller and happier thanks to the addition of lifelong friends, but of course something is missing. Tragedy strikes, and then it strikes again, and again. They really cannot seem to catch a break. Meanwhile the three-year old little princess is taking everything in stride and their friends are assisting in every way they can. Secrets are revealed, boundaries and relationships are tested, and characters are introduced. Can’t wait for the next book and to see what literary 180 Barrett will take this time!
I really enjoyed this hot and steamy romance. The characters were really likeable and like.most people both hold secrets that they don’t willingly want to share.
Mark and Lauren meet at their best friends wedding and typical to tradition the bridesmaid gets off with the groomsman. For both of them it was just supposed to be a one night stand, neither of them expected their worlds to be shook to the core.
Meeting again they both agree to no commitments. However that turns out to be harder than either of them expected. So their feelings for each other grow they find it hard to draw the line between no strings fun and wanting more.
Lauren has trust issues which makes it harder for her to trust Mark so when he’s being hot and cold with her it sends her mind into a paranoid turmoil but does she have a right to be paranoid?
Mark has never let his guard down with anyone do finding that Lauren is breaking down his walls freaks him out. Can he let Lauren completely in and let her know the secret he’s hiding or will they end up breaking each others hearts as their secrets reveal themselves?

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy and book two in the ‘Pierce Brothers’ series about the naughty but nice brothers. This story focuses on Luke Pierce, and can be read as a standalone story but the characters do crossover. Luke is a divorced father and builder who takes life seriously, but he’s never forgotten the women he had an uncharacteristic one night stand with, Nadia. So when Nadia Alvarez asks him to help her with her fixer-upper house which is nearly falling down he says yes. However, Nadia makes it clear that if he wants the job then he’s not allowed to bring up their past and has to forget it ever happened. Nadia can’t believe that she’s so desperate for a builder that she has had to turn to Luke who she never expected to see again, as usually after a one night stand she moves on as she definitely does not believe in love. However, spending time with Luke and trying to get him to see the fun side of life, like she does, becomes a challenge for Nadia and she may actually be at risk of falling in love. Meanwhile, Luke is trying hard not to fall for Nadia, again, but can’t resist her wicked sense of humour and the fun she brings to his life. This was a lighthearted, fun read with plenty of romance and a bit of drama which kept me happily turning the pages. I fell in love with the very likeable and relatable characters, and I felt engaged with them. The storyline flowed well making it an easy read, and the story had the right mix of laugh out loud moments, emotional moments and of course romance leading to some steamy scenes. The authors descriptive narrative bought both the characters and the setting to life, and I was cheering Luke and Nadia on and hoping they would get their HEA.

Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas #1) by Manda Mellett
4 out of 5 stars I have read quite a few of Manda Mellett’s books in this series and I really loved them. Red’s Peril was slow going in the beginning but it picked up speed ½ wat through. The main character was well written and I loved his way of thinking he is also strong minded and hell bent on the road. We met Red in a few other Satan Devils books he is the president of the Vegas chapter. Book one shows us how and why he became the president and the man behind the name. We watch him grow from a teenager taking care of his family to him on the road with a few twists and turns. I will definatly be reading book 2 because I really want to find out what happened. I just hope book 2 has a greater punch for me… Tracy @tracym
