Bared. (A Green St. Girls Romance) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Dr. Anya Schultz

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

N.D. Jackson writes a woman empowered, steamy romance with Bared. Athena, the main character, is a badass, wealthy, business owner that doesn’t believe she can be happy, until Tru. Athena’s past keeps her from moving forward until pushed to question that thinking when an unexpected man comes into her life. I just fell in love with all of the characters. The two main characters, Athena and Tru, had a sexy banter style relationship that made me have all the feels. As a woman, I truly appreciated the character of Athena. She was just sassy, brilliant, successful, funny, etc. It was refreshing to read, what seems so realistic, but empowering – showing the past shouldn’t define our present.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Author India Kells does it again. This book was top notch. Isabel and Kai have met before and fell in love until she left without notice. Isabel had her reasons. After 15 years they are face to face again, pain and lost love brings back hurt and remorse to Isabel. Isabel is the black sparrow in this story and is put in close proximity to Finch. Finch wants to become Mayor of Chicago and enlists Isabel’s company to handle his campaign. I can not believe what happens in this book. Finch is worse than I ever thought. This story was a turning point in the series. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen in book 4. If you haven’t read this series, It is a must read.

This is the 5th book in this series. This is a Romantic Suspense novel and is 153 pages in length. This story follows Sam and Ellie. Sam was a soldier and was just about to give up on life. He meant to call his brother one last time but did a fat finger dial and ended up with calling someone named Ellie, who felt in the same boat as Sam. What better way to start to the new year than in God’s presence, right? Both have a traumatic past they are dealing with and feel they would rather not deal with it at all. That one misdialed phone call will end up changing their path in life forever.

Repair (Rescue Me Book 1) by Trish Williford – Review by Lisa Helmick

Repair (Rescue Me #1; The Everyday Heroes World)Repair by Trish Williford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love the way this story is written! So smooth and it flows along so well plus it is entertaining. I easily read this late into the night. I just couldn’t get enough. The characters really drew me in. They have many ups and downs to work through. My favorite thing is how everyone is rooting for them to end up together.

I love Tank! When I first meet him..he was all over the place with his thoughts and emotions. When we reconnect it to see how much he has changed. His thoughts are settled and he knows what he wants. He seems more mature and the way he reacts to and treats Jared’s little sister..makes me love him even more!

Secondaries are wonderful! Jude is an excellent big brother and bestie. He hits all the marks of protective and caring. Justin seemed over the top at first but settled down nicely as the story moves along. He really slid into the best friend slot perfectly.

Overall I LOVED everything about this story and its characters. I eagerly look forward to Jared and even Dane’s stories. Well Done!

One to be enjoyed over and over

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Kerry Carr

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Broderick Covern. These books just keep getting better with each addition. I love the mix of magic, supernatural beings and romance. The characters are well written and even the paranormal/magical elements in this story are written so well that they are believable.

In this book we follow the romance between Vanessa and Carter.

Carter is a member of the Broderick Coven. His gift is the ability to heal people which makes his job working in a hospital a perfect choice for him. Things in his life seem settled until Vanessa comes into his life.

Vanessa meets Carter when she takes her neighbour to the hospital for a “dog bite”. The attraction between them is instant but neither knows anything the other apart from the fact they have this connection and they can’t forget each other. Could Vanessa be Carter’s mate?

Vanessa is human but she knows there is more happening in the world that humans. She is aware of supernatural beings but has no proof. As she keeps searching she comes to the attention of people who want her to stop and now her life is in danger.

Can Carter protect Vanessa from the danger thats out to get her? Can Vanessa actually handle the truth of her new normal or will the revelations about supernatural beings be too much for her to take?

I loved this book and can’t wait for more.

As a busy Mom who has always been a bookworm, I’ve grown attached to books like these. A quick, easy read that’s just as easy to love. Tank was perfect, perfectly imperfect, and so dang sweet. Charlie was hesitant, because he hurt her before, but who wouldn’t fall for Tank? I smiled like a goof, had a few good laughs (especially at the bar scene! “That’s not water is it?”) and teared up at all the love. Job well done, Trish Williford! Now I’m going to need Jude and Danes stories.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a the first time reading anything by this author. I must say it was a cute little romance.
Elle runs a bakery that was left to her by her mother. In steps Zane, who coincidentally, opened a bakery right next door to her, and wants to partner up. Elle is conflicted and doesn’t know what she should do. She doesn’t want to fall for the enemy but little by little she is falling for him. And still on the fence of partnering together, until her “grandmother” has an accident and she has to do what’s best for her while taking care of her.
This was a cute enemies to lovers story, with a little cheesiness, but that is what the main character likes …. cheezy!!

This book is a new favorite. First off – we have multiple tropes that I’m a sucker for like Brothers best friend, friends to lovers, nursing. Watching Charlie and Tank go from childhood best friends to falling head over heels in love with each other was great to watch. Watching who and what Charlie became throughout the 8 years that her and Tank were separated was truly a “if it’s meant to be it’ll be” moment. If you like forbidden love, and a LOT of good smut scenes this book is definitely the book for you! And can we talk about what a plot twist the author just threw in there towards the end! Had me sweating it a bit.

Both funny and refreshing, this is my first time reading a book by Laura Burton and I am already looking forward to the sequel coming out next year.
The characters were cute and loveable and make the reading so pleasurable. The funny part were hilarious but Laura also included bits and pieces that made you feel for love and family.
Rom-Com’s are my fav genre so if you are looking for something of its kind this comes highly recommended.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Repair: An Everyday Heroes World Novel is part of the The Everyday Heroes World and is written by Trish Williford. This author is like fine wine, each story just gets better. I loved the style, the context the words were written in, and the complexities of the characters. Each character was a little flawed, more than a little difficult and a lot passionate. Their attraction burned hot through many years before they got their act together. Their dance toward bliss was seductive, messy and tumultuous. It was a drawing addiction that had me mesmirised by every paragraph. I was under their spell. What a clever and insightful author Trish Williford is, who can captivate an audience and unveil a heated and emotional story that will amaze, stun and impress. 4 stars.

Repair: An Everyday Heroes World Novel (The Everyday Heroes World) by Trish Williford is a contemporary brother’s best friend second chance romance story. I have read a few stories from The Everyday Heroes World which are different stories by different authors. This sweet love story by Trish is a bit emotive as two people cross paths again and hopefully put their past behind them. One awkward night lies and secrets and a lot of heartache and water under the bridge that needs to be repaired to move forward. It is a quick and entertaining read.

Repair (Rescue Me #1; The Everyday Heroes World)Repair by Trish Williford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m going to start by saying that this book was a lot of fun. However, it was also very sweet. Repair: An Everyday Heroes World Novel is by Trish Williford. This is the first book that I have read from her and was pleasantly surprised. This story follows Charlotte “Charlie” Hawkins. Charlie was living the life that she chose as a Nurse in Denver. She had what she thought was a perfect life. That is until her fiancé’s mistress comes forward with the fact that she is now pregnant with his baby! So with that being said, she goes back home where is she is faced with her brother’s best-friend Tank, who just happens to be someone that she has been in love with for a very long time.
I just enjoyed the banter between her, her brother and Tank. You can tell they are all really close. It was great to see the development of each of the characters. It was adorable seeing how much Tank really cares for Charlie. I was really engulfed in this book and how I felt like I was a part of their little crew and the story itself. I would really recommend this book to anyone who loves books that are sweet and sexy. I cannot wait to read more from this author and look forward to more sweetness and sexiness.

Charlotte grew up in Sunnyville, CA. For the last eight years, she has been a trauma nurse in Denver, CO. But she’s moving home. Yes, Sunnyville General is not a Level One trauma center like where she works in Denver, but nothing is holding her in Denver.

Trent, Tank, Easton has been best friends with Jude, Charlotte’s brother since his family moved to town. He almost messed that up eight years ago when he had a one night stand with his sister. Tank is convinced that Charlotte is the girl for him. Hopefully, he will be able to convince her that she saved his life then and made him a better person. He hopes to convince her that their love is the forever kind of love.

Repair is that wonderful kind of romance where past hurts can be left there and a future is found. Join Charlotte and Trent as they try to start over from the past.

5 out of 5 stars

The God is book 2 in Her Three Immortals series written by Hazel Storm follows on from the first book The Don we continue with Vanessa and Grey. The characters are great and strong minded and the way they play of each other is awesome. This is a sexy paranormal reverse-harem romance, with a very captivating storyline that I enjoyed a lot…
Vanessa has sold her soul to the don of the underworld and now she is stuck alone in his penthouse and it would be all good but Grey stormed off because he doesn’t want her there.
Right before Grey whisked her to the underworld Aroz shot one of his arrows at her and missed now she is covered in gold dust. But she doesn’t feel a thing she definitely doesn’t love Grey.
Can Grey and Vanessa overcome their obstacles. Can Vanessa get back to Raef or will she be stuck? All three gods are jot why should Vanessa choose..
I highly recommend this book/series…

Wow! I stayed up into the wee hours of the night because I couldn’t put it down! Literally from the time I started the book to the last page, I didn’t put it down. I loved Hawke. A tragic and tortured hero with an awful childhood will break your heart and make you scream. At the same time, you will totally understand his issues. I didn’t connect as much to Charlotte, but loved her insistence. It isn’t a light read, but I felt the author handled dark subjects very well. The plot and romance were believable. I look forward very much to the next book with Caine’s story.

Master Tuscano (Masters of the Consulate Book 2) by Sylvia Black was even better then book 1 in this series. Once again ms. Black takes us into a world that is the most perfect combination of human and vampire and makes us fall in love with her characters all over again. Once again this book is full of drama, romance, and several erotic scenes that will make you devour this short novella in one sitting. After reading book one in this series I knew I would love book two from start to finish and I was definitely right about that. Personally after finishing book one and book two I can’t wait for book three.

I caught myself gasping and just feeling all the emotions as I was reading their adventures. It’s got witches, vampires, fairies, etc. Who doesn’t love paranormal stories? You must pick up this book and read the adventures of Master Tuscano and Delilah. You won’t be disappointed.

Flirting with the Enemy was a sweet story. I did have a lot of questions as I was reading since it really jumped in right at the start. I was glad that they were able to be answered as the story went on. I loved Zane’s character! Elle was a good character but I had difficulty at times connecting with her. She frustrated me because her train of thinking was all over the place at times and I just had a hard time with her. I did connect with her on a personal level when she was taking care of Joyce. It resonated with me regarding things going on in my life right now. Overall, it was a good story. The epilogue had me confused at first but then it made sense at the end. I would read more books by this author.

I absolutely loved this book. The second chance love story always gets my attention and this one definitely did not disappoint. I feel like the characters were well developed and their stories weren’t overdrawn in detail. Charlie and Trent were very sweet and I loved the she was his redemption. There was the right amount of heat and sweet in this love story as well as reliability. I liked the dynamic of Charlie’s siblings as well as the other people in their lives. Also, the drama wasn’t drawn out and what was included fit well within the plot. It wasn’t forced or drawn out taking away from the main intent. This small town, second chance for love story really hit its mark.

(There was also an allusion to Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and that there is no place like home. That earned some bonus points from me!)

Dark, Spicy, and absolutely Thrilling!

This book is not for the faint of heart, please check the trigger warnings before reading. With that being said if you love a dark spicy read this book is it! The chemistry between Hawke and Charlotte is absolutely palatable. He’s dark and twisted thanks to his past while she is sweet and full of light, throughout reading it’s clear opposites attract. I loved that BDSM was integral for the story. Then the fact of the thriller aspect was fantastically thrown in as well. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series because I need to see more about the other characters in this story!

Charlie and Tank have known each other for all their lives. These two are like two soulmates that take forever to realize that they are meant for each other. Having been friends since they were young, they have always been part of each other’s lives. A bad decision on the night of Tank’s father’s funeral tears them apart for eight years. After cheating relationships, failed attempts to see one another, fate brought them back together. Charlie has returned home to work at the local hospital. Tank has a chance for redemption. This book is fantastic. Charlie and Tank work through lies, challenges and health crisis. They even work through brothers that are best friends with Tank. The humor is blended in nicely. You’ll love to see how things turn out with Justin, Tank and Charlie. That had me falling off my chair laughing. The book is very entertaining with some romance, a a little steam and some drama. You might get a happy ending with a cliffhanger. This is book 1 of a series and I’m dying for Book 2 because I want to see what happens next.

Finders Reapers (New Orleans Nocturnes) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is my second audio book by this author which is just as great as the first one I listened to.  I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story and the characters to life using different tones of voice.  They made it fun and easy to listen to.  It is understandable and the narrator did a great job with it.  This is a story about Asher and Jasmine. Asher leaves the door to the underworld unattended and now he finds himself in a crisis. Jasmine is a necromancer, she has never not been able to tame a ghost until now. Now that  lost souls escaped the underworld and they are left to bring them back.  Will they be able to bring them back in time?   This is a really great story and kept me listening.  I highly recommend this audible.

This is a well written story that packs a punch in the romance department. It is a fast paced story about a woman who had it all until her fiance’s mistress turns up pregnant. Now she finds herself back in her hometown and face to face with a one night stand that she wanted to forget but here he is. This is a great story where the character gives life to the story and makes it fun to read. They really made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.
