Jody got fired from another job and knows she needs to find another job. She doesn’t want her sister pointing out how she can’t hold a job…Jody does enough of that to herself. When Adam calls to let the sisters know that their gran is injured and someone needs to run the shop, Jody ends up having to be the one to go handle it.
From the moment Jody arrives in town, Adam knows there is no room in his life for this high maintenance girl. But, since he is a helper, he helps Jody along the way in order to keep the shop open. As they grow closer, though, Adam sees the real Jody that she keeps hidden beneath the layers of insecurity and self-doubt. When the time comes for Jody to move back home, can he convince her to stay? Or will she return back to her sister’s to find her next job?
Jody’s self-doubt is front and stage from the first page. It was interesting to watch her grow as the book progressed and realize that sometimes her own thoughts stand in her way. I wasn’t a fan of Adam’s at the beginning because of the way he treated Jody…but he grew on me. I enjoyed reading their story. Another good book by an author I am really coming to enjoy!

It’s hard to pack a good adult story into a short space but Ashley Bostock knows what she is doing with this Quickie storytelling. I can’t wait to read more from this lady!

I loved this story of Cadence and Fitz…. At first Cadence gives Fitz a run for his money when it comes to jobs at Camp Riley during one summer. Little did she know it did not take much for her to fall for him. Fitz, a son of a wealthy politician, really stole my heart strings. When Cadence really gets to know Fitz and about his back story growing up, you cannot help but love his character. Fitz knows after his summer is over spent at the camp, he has to go back to his father to Washington DC… will their summer romance survive….. listen and find out… cannot wait until I listen to book 2. Of the other Satan’s Devils MC books, this one is definitely more my style. This book is filled with dark moments and traumatic storylines, which may not be for some readers. And the cliffhanger is killing me! However, don’t let all of that scare you and miss out on this evolving and riveting story of Niran and Saffie. Niran was an intriguing character in the other books in this series, where we learned that he is an ex-marine and an amputee, but I always got the sense that his story would be worth the wait. In Avenging Devil, Niran wasn’t even out looking for love. He was only helping out his club and a friend, which is SO Niran. However, he stumbled upon Saffie, whom certainly wasn’t in any shape for romance, but Niran refuses to let her slip away. I cannot wait to find out how the rest of this story unfolds in part 2!

The heart of Baker Bay surprised me. I’m the beginning, I felt like it wasnt going to hold my interest. I’m not sure where exactly my opinion changed but, I found myself really enjoying this book.
Poor Jody….I kinda felt bad for her in the beginning. She seemed like she just couldn’t keep a job. After being fired from her most recent job, she ended up having to go help out / run her grandmothers shop in Clover Bay. Jody told Adam that someone from her family would be there the following day. Hannah was expected to be that person but since Jody promised it, Jody is the one who has to go do the work.
Adam is a small town guy who likes to help everyone out. He wasn’t expecting Jody to be there that morning and he seemed to be really put off about it. I almost feel like Adam was being mean to Jody because of the type of person she portrayed. Once Jody showed her real self, Adam and her began to get along and Adam helped her out as much as he could.
Will Adam and Jody end up being together or will Jody go back to the city life and see how many more jobs she can go thru before finding the right one.
I liked the characters and the story flowed well. Looking forward to more by this author

Being Lost is the first book in this riveting series about the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. I can’t get enough of the way that Manda Mellett paints such a detailed and realistic picture of her fictional worlds and takes the reader along for the ride. This story has many different mysterious plots and aspects that slowly unfold throughout the book, which keeps the reader on their toes. Lost is certainly one sexy Silver Fox and it was exciting to get a peek into his head and watch his transformation throughout the book, from an unsure man that is always second-guessing himself to a much stronger character, as the relationship between him and Patsy develops. You’ve got to love when a good woman brings out the best in her man. I can’t wait to binge-read more from this talented author!

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks is a contemporary romance, and my first book by Danielle Jacks. I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. I felt very connected to Jody and her experiences and the way she felt towards Adam. Jody is the mess up and let down in her family. The book begins with her being fired and with no job. She wants to do something with her life but she also doesn’t realize the importance of responsibility and the commitment it takes. When Jody’s grandmother has an accident and can’t run her seaside cafe, Jody is the member of the family who finds herself stepping up and temporarily moving to the small town of Clover Bay to help run the café even though she can’t hold down a job for more than a few weeks in Manchester. Insert the cute, young mail delivery man, Adam, in the small seaside town and readers have themselves a fantastic adult contemporary romance read about learning to find yourself, taking responsibility, stepping outside your comfort zone and just how important family, and love, really is. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good contemporary novel and for someone looking for that perfect read to take to the beach. This definitely won’t be my last of Danielle’s!

If you love small town romances then you will love Danielle Jacks The Heart of Baker Bay. This small town romance is filled with growth, family, innocent romance, and above all finding yourself, everything that makes this reader love small town romances. Ms. Jacks characters are delightful and the way they discover themselves through the story is just wonderful. Her scenery really adds to the small town feeling, making her readers feel like they are right at home. The dialog between her characters is fun and very realistic making her story even more relatable to her readers. So if you are looking for a great summer read then I highly recommend The Heart of Baker Bay.

What a sweet romantic comedy! All good stories will make you laugh, cry, and maybe swear a little bit; this one certainly fits that bill.
The book starts out a bit melancholy with the passing of a very eccentric grandma and a vet returning from war with PTSD; both main characters need to find healing and peace with their sufferings, and they find it together, in each other. They soon find out nothing worth having comes easy, love included.
This is such a cute read with characters so multifaceted that everyone will find some way to connect with them. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this sweet contemporary romance set in a small village by Danielle Jacks. This was an easy and lighthearted read which left me with a real feel good feeling. Main characters, Jody and Adam are definitely opposites when they meet but they are both likeable and relatable characters who I felt instantly engaged with. Jody has been fired from more jobs than she can remember but when her gran has an accident Jody volunteers to manage her seaside cafe in Clover Bay. To Adam Clover Bay is his home and he loves it but doesn’t like the tourists who come and go each summer. When he first meets Jody he thinks she’s high maintenance and can’t see her being anything but a temporary resident as she’s more used to the city. However the more they get to know each other Adam finds he can’t stay away even though he wants to not like her, he does. For Jody Clover Bay was only going to be temporary but that was before she got there and not only enjoyed running the cafe but also liked getting to know Adam. The storyline flowed well and the authors descriptive narrative really bought the setting of Clover Bay to life making me feel fully immersed in Jody and Adam’s story. An enjoyable read which I definitely recommend.

I can’t get over how much I loved these characters! Annie and Wyatt were great, I loved each of them so much. From Annie’s sassy self to Wyatts witty charm, but I absolutely LOVED Annie’s Granny, and Wyatts bubbly niece, Hattie. Olivia Sherwood brought each and every character to such LIFE in this book, and really mastered the art of dialogue. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed every character like I did in this novel. If you like a sweet romance with a lot of great wit and quirky fun characters, I think you’ll enjoy this one as much as I did!

This is a fun story. I was surprised by more than a few things that happened in her. That up my enjoyment level and kept me turning pages. The characters are interesting and more complex than I thought. Setter surprised me more and more as the story went forward. I thought he was just a rich boy who felt he is above everything. As I dove into his life deeper there is so much more to his actions and reactions. Casey is the smart girl with a few surprises of her own. She is stoic and her fathers offers up Setter to help her get some joy back into her life.
The secondary characters really helped mold this into the wonderful story it is. They added charm, danger and friendship to the story. Her fathers seemed overly calm at times and I always wondered if Jacob had ulterior motives in some things he did or said.

Cadence Untouched Audio Book by Dakota Willink is the first book in the Cadence Duet. This is a book that defines a sweet summer romance in one breath and then in the next hits you fully with all the emotion. As this story built up I found myself falling more in love with Cadence and Fitz. Although on the face of it they are so completely different they should have never worked in reality they seemed made for each other. The author did a great job of creating that connection between them.
I knew from how the book started that I was in for an emotional ride and that is exactly what happened. I was swept away by the book and enjoyed every part of it. I cannot wait to see what happens next in part two.

Danielle Jack’s has hit this romance out of the park. I found myself involved and committed to finishing this story. It is well written as well as fast paced. This is the first book in the Cadence Duet series. This is an audio book and is just under 6 hours of listening time. This is written by Dakota Willink and narrated by Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel. This story follows Cadence and Fitz. They meet at Camp Riley, and while Fitz is somewhat of a bad boy, she should have walked away, but there was just something about him. Fitz was set to go back to D.C. after the summer, but how can he knowing this is turning into much more than a summer fling.

Untouched was a really lovely audio book to listen to, I really enjoyed the story and the narrators really brought the story to life. It was a great listen, not overly long – just right. There were some very unexpected twists and turns in the story too and I cannot wait to listen to the second book in the duet. I loved Cadence and Fitz, really great characters in the story. I definitely felt to innocence of Candence in the story – the author really managed to capture that well. I’ve listened to a few audio books now and I think this one probably had the best narrators, I really felt like they understood the characters well and that definitely came across.
I am really looking forward to more from this author and definitely the next book in the duet to see where this story will go.
I would definitely recommend this audio book to other listeners!

I loved this book! I think my favorite part of the whole concept of this book was that our main female character was not a perfect person that had her whole life figured out and did everything right. This main character was the complete opposite and it was refreshing in a strange kind of way.
I also fell in love with Clover Bay and have it all pictured in my mind and could just imagine visiting and staying in a B&B and enjoying life.
Adam and Jody both had struggles and tried so hard to not connect, but we all know how that works out. The way they complimented each other in their own ways made this such a fun, sweet read. Watching them get past their struggles in life with help from each other was awesome. I laughed, and I definitely got teary eyed a few times.
This was an awesome, quick, one sitting read for me, and the more I read from this author the more I want to read.

Unlikely in love is about Wyatt and Annabelle. Annabelle just inherited her grandmother’s estate. She’s devastated about the death of Sophie her granny. Wyatt is not the same after three tours in Afghanistan. He feels broken and sometimes lost. He hears about Sophie’s death and that Annabelle needs help on her farm. He remembers her from high school. The two come together and sparks fly.
The story of Wyatt and Annabelle is well written, great descriptions of the characters and the story. It’s easy to read and who doesn’t love a good romance. I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait for book two in the series. Olivia Sherwood is a great author and I look forward to her work.

This book with the words that leapt off the page, were beyond beautiful with words alone. But to me this book was similar to a beautiful song being played on a piano. It was so easy to get lost in the story, the characters, and the love the book brought to life!
This one had a lot of feelings and emotions brought onto the reader in a good way. It kept you not only interested, but rooting for the main characters Jody and Adam
Both were different but at the same time they were like musical notes that come together and make not only a beautiful song, but also a beautiful melody.
I find what’s meant to be always will find its way no matter how much you may pul against the strains of the universe, and that is exactly what happened in this story.
Adam he was a person who strong minded. He had closed his heart off. He had been hurt very badly, so personally I could not blame him for his feelings of not wanting to feel or to trust. Or let alone bring down his walls and allow himself to care, and risk giving the person his heart not knowing if he would get hurt again.
Jody to me made me think at times, was this character secretly based on me? Jody hasn’t had a very easy life. She constantly seems to be let down in life be it relationships, jobs, as well as her own happiness. I find she constantly was trying to find herself and most importantly find a place where she belonged. But where did she really? Is that such an easy question for us to have as a goal not knowing how long it would take to achieve?
Jody and Adam meet and spars fly I would say, but their walls push each other away. Jody was different and Adam was very much drawn to her, though he gave himself every excuse in the book to while he shouldn’t, but when the heart truly knows, can you do anything really but listen to it?
What I loved about these two was not only how much chemistry they had, but how much they deserved each other. They didn’t have an easy life on both their sides. And being together was not as easy as basically black and white. There was some cryptic code and splash of colors swirled together. But, I find as it is with life, in the end if you really want something, you work for it every day. You never stop trying. If you stop you could very well lose it forever. And how could you go on knowing you got a taste of happiness and let it go because you didn’t try the amount you had to?
And especially I loved how at the end everything made sense and was a like a big comfortable bed. It was like a painting that was done and you could gaze upon and smile. And feel nothing but true bliss.
The author wrote a truly beautiful novel and I will be looking to read more of their work for sure. I really enjoyed this and made my heart happy and connected all the way reading through.
Highly recommend, read this and let your heart feel things from this beautiful book more than words can say. Remarkable writing would be an understatement.

I love a good friends to lovers book and I love brothers best friends books too, and this one mashed those up perfectly. I really liked this story and how sometimes it takes someone else to show you what you’ve overlooked for so long and to show you respect. Tom is a nice guy, and proposes he and Chelsea date for 7 full days so he can show her how she should be treated and that nice guys deserve a chance too.

A Cold Day In Hell (Life Is Hell Book 5) by Naomi Valkyrie is a paranormal F/F romance story. Naomi never fails to deliver, and she always exceeds my expectations. Juniper Lake and its inhabitants have become family. This is a place where everyone is more than a little different but are family. With all sorts of magical beings this is the place to be. If you have not read any of Naomi’s work, then you better get hopping and start at the beginning because you are missing out. Naomi holds a place as one of my fav authors. I am sorry to see the series end but excited to see what she does next. Reviewed by @jennadb

Out of Time is the fourth book in the Westbeach Series by Toni Denise. Toni is a new author to me, and I only realised it was the fourth book in the series after I had finished it because I don’t read the covers or blurbs. However, from what I can gather the other books all have different stories even though the characters intertwine some, and I did not feel like I was missing out. Out of Time is full of mystery, suspense and romance and twist and turns to keep you intrigued and you will definitely enjoy it. I will be going back to the start of the series to see what I missed.

I loved this first book of the series. This type of book is not normally my type of genre but I am so glad I decided to read it. I loved the characters, especially Annabelle. The story was so raw and emotional, if I didn’t need sleep I probably could’ve read the book in one day. I highly recommend reading this book, even if it isn’t your usual “cup of tea”.

This fantasy book has every element attached to it, super natural, family, drama, romance and suspense. The book is about an angel Hadassah who is on suspended duty from heaven and has been sent to earth because she helped her brother rescue a demon. But that doesn’t stop her to reach out to her brother’s friend , Jezebel, who is a dog shifter. How the chemistry between these two unfolds is a crux of the story. I haven’t read the previous books, so I could not relate much to the characters. But the plot kept me going. It was fun reading this book. Overall it was an interesting read.

Mr. Nice Guy is the first book in the Pierce Brothers Series by Belinda Williams. A fast-paced romance book, this is a story of friends who are transformed to lovers. Tom and Chelsea are flat mates and Tom is her brother’s best friend. Chelsea always gets into relationships only with bad guys, so Tom decides to show her what a nice guy is like. They reach an agreement that they will date for seven days. But as the situation progresses, the line blurs and how the two react to the new relationship forms the basis for the rest of the story. It’s an easy romance comfort read. I liked it!

Wow! For all book readers out there, this is one that you definitely should read. Betsy Bobbin is the oldest of the three Bobbin girls. Betsy is the librarian at the local library in Bartlett, TN. She is taken aback when Nash Ware, a Marine who has returned home walks into the library.
Nash is not used to the kind of librarian that Betsy turned out to be. He sees her dark blonde hair, her green eyes, and her red lips as soon as he walks in the door of the library. That day he has a terrible headache and was a little rude with his reply to the sweet librarian. He wears an eye patch courtesy of a wound while on his last tour.
Nash and Betsy figure out that each is interested in at least a friendship, but Leann, Betsy’s younger sister is coming to town for a visit, and puts a damper on any future plans.
What is Leann keeping secret from her sister? Can Nash be the hero that Betsy is looking for?

Mr. Nice Guy is a cute, sweet story by Belinda Williams. This story is about Chelsea and Tom. Chelsea’s dating life is just full of going for the “bad boys”. Tom decides to ask Chelsea to give him 7 days and 7 nights to show her what it is like to date a “Nice Guy”. I really loved Tom’s character, he was charming and sweet and thought highly of Chelsea. For Chelsea, she was always putting herself down and sometimes did not feel her worth when it came to relationship nor her work. As Chelsea and Tom have their 7 days and 7 nights, will this turn into more then just friendship? You will have to read the book and find out :). Overall this is an easy, fun book.
