This was a super quick read! I would have liked to see a little more development prior to them getting together. There was, however, a fair amount of story within the short amount of pages. I appreciated the glimpse of character development that alluded to Poppy being an introverted person realizing that a relationship with Turner will encourage her to come out of her comfort zone. I would like to see a continuation of this and see where their journey progresses.

Mr. Nice Guy by Belinda Williams is the first book in the Pierce Brothers Book series. This is a cute, romantic read about Chelsea who has a knack for finding the awful, bad-boy boyfriend and her roommate is sick of the complaining. Chelsea doesn’t tend to give the nice guys a chance, but what happens when she does? This is a fun read that I didn’t put down until I was done. The characters of Chelsea and Tom are fun characters and I enjoyed their interactions. I also enjoyed that Tom is not a boring, nice guy but he has a frisky side also. What a way to play up just against the stereotype that if he is nice he doesn’t know how to be naughty. I enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more about the Pierce Brothers.

I absolutely loved this book! It was an all around beautiful story with well developed relationships. I loved the relationship that Annie had with Sophie. The selfless, good-hearted nature of Sophie was something instilled in Annie and spoke volumes of the woman that she was. Wyatt, with all of his cracks, was to the core a genuine, sweet man that’s heart was made for someone like Annie. I loved his relationship with his parents, sister and most of all, his niece Hattie.
I loved that the story focused not necessarily on the hardships that they faced but how they filled in their cracks together and became the support for the other. I appreciated that there wasn’t too unneccessary drama that could take away from the story and the intended focus. The “hiccups” the characters faced were important pieces to their character development which in turn enriched the plot. I thought this was a very well envisioned arc.

This is an enjoyable story. I always wondered about Jezebel since we first met her. I am glad her storyline is a good one. The irritation between these two is great! Hadassah has been a thorn-like character from her first introduction. She is a character you love to hate. Because she is only out for herself…or her brother. The dislike of each other (Jezebel and Hadassah) at the beginning is classic! The problem is I didn’t see or feel the connection change to anything other than friendship. Personally I did see a growth/change in both characters as the story moved along.
Overall I did like the story. I am guessing other unanswered questions will find answers in the next or future books.

I’m going to be honest, when I started this book I was a little unsure about Jody. She came off as super immature, a little spoiled and a lot helpless. This story had so much character growth, and I cheered at not just her accomplishments, but also Adam’s.
I expected a sweet romance, and I certainly got that, but it was so much more. Adam needed to learn to step out of his comfort bubble, and Jody needed to believe in herself. It was a slow burn, charming and wholesome. I adored Clover Bay!

I really enjoyed this story! It’s a sweet, feel-good story with characters you will root for. There’s romance but not a lot of steam. It was nice to read something clean! I found both Adam and Jody, the main characters, to be relatable and I liked the story being told from both points of view. This was an easy read for those who want to escape from real life for a bit but not have to follow complicated twists and turns. The author described the little town well enough that I wouldn’t mind visiting the seaside village myself.

The second book in the Code of Honor series is just as electric as the first! Brooke May delivers another very well written novel in Taking Flight. Jody’s superstar twin sister Jilly has always been the center of attention for as long as she can remember. On a night where she is pretending to be her sister, she catches the attention of sexy Air Force pilot Holt, who spends the next few days thinking constantly about their memorable evening at the club together. Will a series of chance encounters bring the two of them back together, or does Jilly ruin yet another good thing in Jody’s life?
Brooke May has written yet another novel in which the characters are relatable and the plot is full of twists and turns with some steamy scenes thrown in here and there. It was very easy to read this book quickly. The only reason it took me a few days to finish was because of my busy schedule! I can’t wait to see if there will be more books in the series!

This selection of short stories really hits the reader and makes them want more! I’m usually not a huge fan of short stories because I really like to get into a story when I read but with Jane Suen’s stories, I was left satisfied. Each of the short stories captivates the reader and really brings them along for the ride and keeps your emotions high. Each story is very different from the others. I won’t spoil anything for the readers other than to say, my favorite pick of the stories was “The End Of Summer”.

This second chance romance was my first read by Stephanie Queen and it was a great introduction. As this was the third book of the series, I can honestly say that it can be read as a standalone as I had no problem jumping in with book 3.
This story follows Kace and Glory, two broken characters with an emotional past. The author did a great job in conveying those emotions and tension, as the reader I felt as if I could feel those emotions through the pages. It was heavy, unpredictable, heart breaking, and complex.
I enjoyed how this wasn’t your typical romance read, it was a nice change! I hope to read more about these characters in the future!

Bad Man On Campus: A Second Chance College Romance by Stephanie Queen is the third book in the Big Men On Campus series. This is a fantastic second chance romance that really draws on the emotion of the two characters. I found that this wasn’t the typical sports romance that I thought it was going to be and it really took me by surprise. I always enjoy this authors work but this book for me was easily my favourite. I connected with the characters instantaneously and really felt their journeys. The book was so well written and developed perfectly. I really enjoyed every part of this book and would highly recommend it.

This is a great holiday romance story that I enjoyed. This is not my first book by this author but it is certainly one of my favorites by her. This is a well written story that is full of holiday warmth and sweet romance. The characters are relatable and bring the story to life on each page. I enjoyed being pulled into the story as well as being kept engaged throughout the story. This is a story about two people who are opposites but find a common ground to bring them together. Holly likes to play it safe and Blake likes to live on the edge. Together they have great chemistry and an attraction that heats up the pages. This was a great story that I really enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.
Chelsea always goes for the bad boys, who always break her heart! She believes nice guys don’t exist. In steps Tom, her brother’s best friend, and her roommate. They agree to a relationship but with no benefits for a week. Will Tom show Chelsea nice guys exist or will he break her heart too?

I loved this book. Friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes. Chelsea has been dating the wrong kind of man, and her best friend suggests dating her nice guy flat mate to see where she’s going wrong. Tom has has a crush on Chelsea for years, but his past history has made him have serious trust issues. Together they embark on a week of ‘dating’, where both find themselves facing personal issues they’ve been putting off. I loved how the dates didn’t alway go to plan, but the two of them took it in their stride and made the best out of everything. For the most part, they were brutally honest with each other and it was so sweet to hear the things Tom says to Chelsea. She finally realises that she has been dating, but never had a relationship, never found someone she wanted to chat to outside of a date and it was a real eye-opener for her. Tom needed to face his past before being able to move on, he just needed a little push in the right direction. I loved how Nadia got involved towards the end, she was brash but her heart is in the right place, and the text messages at the end were brilliant. A really great story, a bit of emotion, a few ‘I can’t believe that’ moments but the ending was perfect for Tom and Chelsea.

Kells is an extremely skilled author, particularly when it comes to romantic suspense. This installment didn’t disappoint. And the narration was spot on. It took the action and emotion to a whole new level. Loved it.

If you read Courage of Us and saw my review, I’m basically feeling the same way. I love May’s world-building and character development skills. Not that I “like” all her characters, but she develops them really well, in that they feel like real people with feelings, thoughts, and a personality that drives them. So, I’m giving it 3 Stars for May’s writing skills and her ability to build a vibrant, full world. But once again, I feel the premise of the plot was completely unrelatable (to me). From the opening scene, I found Jody weak, whiny, and frustrating. She wanted to be her own person and she knew she was being treated poorly by her family and could have gotten away, but she always chose to be the “victim” and went along with their schemes. Then she only gets a backbone to change her life and go after what she wants once Holt is there and he starts pushing back. So, I had to wonder what would have happened to Jody if she hadn’t met Holt? Would she have stuck with her sister or gotten into even more self-destructive behavior to act out against her perceived cage? I think it’s easy to blame Jilly and Jody’s parents for being mean, neglectful vultures, BUT Jody is a grown woman who can stop the relationships and neglect/abuse at any time. So why hasn’t she? While I appreciate the fact that love can and does change people for the better, when it’s real, I also have to say that people who ONLY grow and change because they have someone “stronger” than them to push and cause the change is called co-dependency. I’m not blaming Jody for wanting a relationship with her family or for getting caught in a rut she hates, but I just didn’t interpret the growth she was supposed to have in this story in the same way I think the author intended it to be viewed. But as I said in my other review, I just may not be May’s target audience. I am totally sure that tons of people will love this story and find themselves relating to Jody and Holt. So don’t discount it because of my review, just because it’s not MY thing doesn’t mean it won’t 100% be yours! Pippa

I haven’t read a short and sweet romance story yet so this was a first for me – definitely to the point and a great summer read. I read in about 30 minutes so its a good one to take along to the beach or if you just want something that isn’t super involved with time! I really liked how the characters weren’t ones that you’d typically put together but they knew they had something!

This book sucked me in from the beginning. The storyline was absolutely amazing. Heartbreaking tragedy that rips at your heart from the start. Your emotions start with some definite feelers. As they get back together, there are just so many little issues to work through that threaten to tear them apart. I did have to wonder how a grown man couldn’t stand up to his family for the love of his life. Could the love of his life remain the love of his life? Tears of sadness, joy and feelings of anger for Mad. The characters were very well written. I will need to find more on Dooley as he actually turned into my favorite because he turned into a side character that played an integral role. The ending surprised me. I thought it would turn out different but I am glad that they both seemed to mature from that situation. Definitely a must read.

I love this book! This is book 1 of the series. She lives in an apartment with her brothers friend, Tom. Her best friend, Nadia, suggests she try date a nice guy instead of bad guys all the time. Tom decides to date her for a week to show her what it’s like with a nice guy. Within that week the friend line begins to get blurred. Will they be able to get out of the friend zone and become something more?

This was the first book I have read by author Danielle Jacks. I have been rather partial to a few different authors, and it isn’t often that I give another a try, and I am so very happy that I took the chance on her. I’ll admit, I had a lot on my plate when I started reading about Adam and Jody’s love story, what with my daughters 8th birthday, and best friend’s wedding being on the same day, and the travel associated with such, luckily, this book pulled me in. I sat in the hotels Jacuzzi tub and read more than half of this adventure in Baker Bay, though I did look like a prune afterwards, it was worth it!
I fully relate to Jody, as her life reminds me of how mine was not long ago, just a mess, and trying to find my own way. I found it to be easy to slip into the setting of Clover Bay, it felt like a home away from home, with the small village feel and closeness of all the folks you’re introduced to. All in all, I found this love story to give me goosebumps, feel the loss that the main characters go through, or have gone through, and the joy of the friendships and love these two share, for each other, and those in the inner circle. Thank you, Danielle Jacks, for a reason to escape during a hectic weekend. I’ll be coming back for more!

Taking Flight is the second installment to Brooke May’s Code of Honor series, and I loved it even more then the first one. This romance has everything that you could ask for from a handsome pilot, to a girl with mistaken identity, family drama, action, and the mystery of if love is enough to conquer all. Once again Ms. May had me hooked from the very first page and I finished it in one sitting. She goes into such descriptive details about her characters that you often forget that they are fictional characters. While you can read Taking Flight as a Stand alone I highly recommend reading this series in order just to get all of the juicy details.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is a sweet, contemporary, holiday romance. With a small town setting and we get to see how opposites attract and find love unexpectedly. This series has the most beautiful covers, each one gives off great romantic vibes. They really do give this series its own unique look and ‘feel’. Snowflakes and Holly is definitely my favourite of the series, so far. Even thought the characters, Holly and Blake, frustrated me at times, I did enjoy their story. I wonder what Ms. Dawson has in store for us next?

Check Out is the first book in The Bobbins Sisters series by Debra Parmley. It is an engrossing wounded warrior military romance. The story also touches on some sensitive issues, which the author handled in a compassionate, but honest way. Nash is a wounded veteran, a former Marine who suffers from PTSD with more scars on the inside than the outside. Past experience has made him a bit prickly and closed off- feeling like he isn’t relationship material. Betsy is the shy librarian type- who is a little intimidated by the fierce looking Veteran. But her life becomes immersed in drama- add some action and a stalker on the loose, and we get an intriguing read! Looking forward to seeing what happens in Book #2.

Bad Man on Campus is the third book in the Big Men on Campus series by Stephanie Queen. Even though I have read a lot of Ms. Queen’s books now, this is the first book in this series that I have read, so I am coming into this series a bit backwards by starting here with book #3. Having said that though, this could definitely be read as a standalone- but my interest is piqued now and I will definitely be going back to read the other two books to discover what happened there and to see if there are any interconnected details that might follow through to this book. As expected from Ms. Queen- this is a well woven story, with interesting, complex, and fully developed characters who pull you into their story right from the beginning. It is a second chance sports romance, with plenty of emotion, heart-wrenching details of tragedy + grief, baggage, struggles, drama, romance, steam, chemistry, hockey, and more. Glory and Kace have a past history of being high school sweethearts- until tragedy struck. Fate has intervened by giving them a second chance- but Ms. Queen isn’t going to make things too easy for them. Get set for an angsty and emotional read about overcoming tragedy and taking a chance on love, again.

Unlikely in Love is the first book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood. This appears to be Ms. Sherwood’s debut novel, as I discovered when I went looking for more of her work after finishing this story, and could only find this one. I will definitely keep my eye out for more of her books in the future, not just this series, but anything else she may do too. This is a sweet romance- with a small town setting, second chances, chemistry, friendships, banter, love, loss, emotion, humour, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. I loved Annabelle and Wyatt- they were not only interesting, but also very endearing. Their past history definitely added an extra element of interest to the story. I couldn’t help getting invested in their story, and found myself cheering them on from the sidelines. Their story really was quite touching in parts, making for quite a beautiful read! Looking forward to more from Ms. Sherwood!

Danielle Jacks, The Heart of Baker’s Bay is a sweet contemporary seaside romance. With wonderful characters, a beautiful setting and not to mention the baked goods it is one read you do not want to miss out on. Danielle has written this story beautifully and I cannot find a fault with it. This is one of my favourite books I have read this year. A new town, a new start to help her Gran, Jody finds more than she thought she would ever find. Unfortunately, Adam likes his town just the way it is and outsiders are not welcome. Makes for an interestingly cute read.

It is one story that will definitely make your heartache. I really like Stephanie’s work, the characters. I so wanted karma to get the male MC and kick his behind and then some and then I wanted to shake the female MC. But I still enjoyed it.

Regency romances are the stuff of dreams, well at least my dreams. Ladies and gentlemen, Dukes, Earls, and Viscounts, what more could a girl want. For me I want intrigue and courage then a dash chemistry. This is the 2nd book I have read by Wareeze Woodson and it didn’t disappoint. Matt and Isabel are just the right mix to warm your heart.

Mr. Nice Guy (Pierce Brothers Book 1) by Belinda Williams
I think every woman who reads this book will be able to relate 1000% to Chelsea when it comes to the bad boyfriends of the past. I’m not sure why we all have to go through that string of horrible men but we do.
Chelsea isn’t a bad person, she’s actually the exact opposite but I think they guys she met sensed how sweet she is and took advantage of that.
Tom lacked confidence when it came to romance, but also hadn’t met anyone worth working through his past.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Mr. Nice Guy (Pierce Brothers Book 1) by Belinda Williams was a really good read. I enjoyed following along on Tom and Chelsea’s whirlwind romance. This book was enthralling and entertaining, and was able to hold my attention really well. I really enjoyed the storyline and had a few laughs along the way as well. It was also really nice to finally see a nice guy win in the story! Overall I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next installment.

I loved this book! The location, the people, the friendships, and the atmosphere of family is just memorable. Growing up in small town USA, I can understand the camaraderie that is built between members of the same community.
Annabelle Cleaver was raised by her grandmother, Sophie, at her farmhouse on the outskirts of Parker, Oklahoma. Sophie has just passed away, and after some neglect during her grandmother’s illness, Annie has to start to put the farm back into working order. Everything needs repairs from the house to the barn. It’s going to be a long, hot summer.
Wyatt Holloway has returned to Parker after serving three tours in Afghanistan with the Army. He has returned home scarred both mentally and physically. Physically, there’s a scar that runs down the side of his face. Mentally, he suffers from PTSD which causes him to go to dark places when he’s not busy and causes his night terrors.
Call it fate, or perfect timing, but Wyatt’s dad encourages him to go out to Annie’s farm to see if she needs any help. Reluctantly, Wyatt drives out to the farm and is spellbound by the adult version of Annabelle Cleaver. Annie cautiously agrees to have him come to help her on the farm.
How will this partnership between a grieving Annie and a scarred Wyatt help them both?
