Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from either of the authors…but it definitely won’t be the last!

This book focuses on Braelynn and Seth. Braelynn, also known as Shaw, has just been named partner in the law firm she works at. She is a criminal attorney and the mafia men call when they need help. However, her life is about to change when an encounter with another partner sets her on a path she never saw coming. The man she calls to help her is also the man she is having a secret relationship with.

Seth is the son of the head of the Sindicato. After meeting Shaw as she was getting him off of murder charges, he now finds himself sneaking away to spend weekends with her because his family will not approve of their relationship. However, when the unthinkable happens, Seth and his family are there to help Shaw. This leads to their relationship coming out in the open and having to confront his father about it. Can he make his dad see that his heart doesn’t abide by traditions? And what happens when evidence comes to light that can change the dynamics of the Sindicato?

I really enjoyed reading Shaw and Seth’s story. There was love and murder….drama and justice…and some humor thrown in. I am looking forward to reading Dane’s story in the future.

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart Book 1) by Melody Calder – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sexy Drug is the first book I have read by Melody Calder, but I LOVED it. I cannot wait to read the rest of the Losing My Heart series. I was instantly hooked and didn’t want to put it down. Lucky for me, I was passenger on a road trip, so I got to read it all in 1 night. However, it had such a cliff hanger ending that I am left wanting more. The book focuses around Katie, the daughter of a drug lord/cartel leader. When there is an attempt on her life, her dad assigns her a body guard, Ramone. The reader and Katie first believes he is just hired muscle, and one of the “bad guys” but we soon see there may be something deeper. There are hints and clues into his past, and who he really is, but it is never fully revealed. I love that the mystery remained throughout. I love reading mafia books, but this one takes the cake. Highly recommend this book, and cannot wait to read the next book.

The Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Kimberly Shirah

The Earl's Scandalous WagerThe Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Historical Fiction has always been a favorite of mine. Wareeze Woodson wrote an amazingly sweet novel with great historical detail and that lets you sink into the story. I could hardly put it down.

Emily Riventon is used as collateral for her stepbrother’s wager. Unfortunately for Emily, her step brother loses, the game of chance and we start our story with Phillip Beckely Benton, the Earl of Lenbridge. From here the story starts to get real good. This book kept me entertained and I couldn’t stay away.

I enjoyed the characters that Woodson brought to life. Sometimes when we are in the Earl’s point of view, to me the flow was a little unsettled at times. Although, not enough that I would rate it any less stars.

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor – Review by Elizabeth Rosenberg

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blue Summer Part One is a quick read with wit and humor, steamy romance, and magic. Lillie is a strong and independent woman who is used to only being able to depend on herself. One day, her purse is stolen and she runs into two Zayed while trying to recover it. The Zayed are blue humanoid creatures that rather remind me of an old childhood favorite. The Zayed have been in conflict with an evil sorcerer for many years, and this brief contact with the Zayed now has Lillie in the sorcerers sights! When the Zayed take her back to their village, she must figure out her place and discover if she’s strong enough to help the Zayed prevail. My only critique is that I do wish the story did not seem so rushed. The entire first part spans less than two days. The story ends on a cliffhanger that will definitely have you looking to buy the next part! I look forward to getting to read it!

Antipodes by T.S. Simons – Review by Elizabeth Rosenberg

AntipodesAntipodes by T.S. Simons
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Antipodes is a unique young adult dystopian story set in and around Australia. Cam is a man in his 20s who lives in Australia with his mom, dad, and older sister. He attends college and is pretty content with his life until he hears about a deadly outbreak in Europe that will soon affect the entire world. Cam is chosen to go to an island with a few hundred other individuals and start a new community, safe from the outbreak. Cam is a very relatable character who struggles with survivors guilt. He finds friendship and companionship and does his best to contribute to the new society. One day, his girlfriend Freja disappears and Cam is left wondering where she could’ve gone. He eventually stumbles upon an antipode, which is a portal between two locations, and he finds himself in Scotland. He makes new friends and learns more about himself. But the memory of Freja still haunts him so he continues his search. This book is well written and I had a hard time putting it down. I’d definitely recommend it!

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Erica Fish

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Devoted Fan is the fifth book in the 21st Century Courtesan book and what a book it was. With every book, I believe that this is the best one of the series and that includes this book. Pamela DuMond has the ability to write you (the reader) in the story with all the other characters. The plotline is just hustling along. I was so enthralled by this book that I forgot what I was supposed to be doing for the day. Her characters bring this story to life. They are fully developed and complex in nature. This is a story about what Karma can do to you. I learned a big lesson from this book about Karma and how it can really mess with you. Do you know what Karma can do? I highly recommend this book to find out. I would say that you will need an afternoon to read the whole book and trust me you are going to want to finish this book.

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Everly Taylor is a newer author to me and with that being said, I cannot wait to read some of her other books. Blue Summer has a nice easy, but fast pace at the same time, story. It has a meaty plotline that will hold your attention. The characters are full of zeal and life. They are well written with many details to make them real in your imagination. Lillie takes us on an adventure. The community of Zayed changed Lillie’s life. Will Lillie figure out what is going on around her before it is too late? Why is she so drawn to the Zayed community? I cannot wait to see what is in store in book 2. I highly recommend this book and this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Original. Engrossing. Page-turner. These are just a few words that I’d use to describe T.S Simons’ Antipodes. The storyline for this novel was organic, unique, creative and unpredictable. With reading any novel the reader has an inkling of the outcome. T.S captivates the reader’s attention with artistic curveballs and a storyline that makes you sit up and take notice. There were multiple elements encompassed in this story that made the storyline more thought-provoking.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Jamie Zabolotney

5 Stars

Third book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. OMG One paragraph in and I was hooked! I loved everything about this audiobook. Crimson Oliver the “bad” witch just can’t seem to get it together.  Things just seem to go from bad to worse for her until she meets her demon Mike, the Devil’s Advocate.

Faced with the threat of having her powers forever bound, Crimson hastily challenges the Head Witch to a battle of magic that she can’t possibly win with her current abilities. Enter Mike, the recovering Devil’s Advocate. Crimson and Mike have undeniable chemistry and are just starting to delve into their relationship when Mike accidentally makes a deal with Crimson to sell her soul to the devil.

This book has me seeking out other books by Carrie Pulkinen!  You won’t be disappointed.

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cursed whispers is a really good book about witches and werewolves. This is the 1st book i’ve read in the series but I didn’t feel lost because it filled in the background pretty well. I will definitely have to go back and read the 1st two books in the series. The witches in this story all have unique powers like Max being able to speak to animals. The love Max shows for Claudia and her daughter right after meeting them is really sweet. The book was entertaining and had a lot of details that made the characters more realistic.

An Unexpected Bonding (The Unexpected Trilogy Book 1) by Lilly Rayman – Review by Erica Shoebridge

An Unexpected BondingAn Unexpected Bonding by Lilly Rayman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this story. I was a little apprehensive as I don’t normally read romance, and there were echoes of ‘Twilight’ in the theme (which I did not enjoy), but it was recommended to me, so I decided to give it a go. Very glad I did! The characters are fantastic, all of them brought to life with their own unique personalities and challenges. Livia is an amazing heroine, brave, strong, and very relatable. I loved seeing her find her inner strength, and refusing to compromise on the things that matter to her. The plot was well-thought out, and kept me hooked throughout the book. Some steamy sections, but overall they were secondary to an awesome story and adventure. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.

When I say it is a paranormal romance, I mean its paranormal! Shifters, Vampires, Fae, Egyptian mythology- Lilly Rayman really hit a homerun with this. I was a little lost in the beginning because she throws a lot at you so fast but once the story gets going it truly is worth finishing and to say I am exciting for the next book is a huge understatement. Livvie has my heart and soul, she was such a relatable main character and I loved how strong she was even when she was struggling with all she had to face.

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee is the third book in the Broderick Coven series. This is a series that seems to just go from strength to strength to strength. So far this book is definitely my favourite of the series. Claudia and Max have such an undeniable chemistry, you can literally feel it on every single page! I was hooked on their story instantly and just had to find out if they would make things work. I also really enjoyed that fact that the book featured a male witch. More often than not I find authors tend to fall into the habit of witches being female and the male being warlocks or wizards. It was refreshing to read a book the decided not to follow this norm.
The story itself was great. It was well thought out and developed just right. The author knew just what to do to keep the story moving at the perfect pace. This is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend – the whole series is definitely with your time!

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Liz Vrchota

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! This riveting conclusion to the 21st Century Courtesan Series from PS DuMond has really been everything I could have hoped for and then some. Of course, that is not something that I don’t expect with this series and author but it is still a lovely thing when you get it. I really have loved this series and the characters we have met and grown to care for and hate at times. I will not be giving any bit of what happens in this book away in my review but I can tell you this is one you do not want to miss. You will want to start with the very first book and read your way through them in the correct order. They build so wonderfully and often leave you hanging for that next delectable bite at the end that you would not want to miss them. THE DEVOTED FAN may have been the conclusion but for me I will be going back and starting at the beginning again. DuMond really weaves layers into her stories and I feel like I need to go back and just absorb them again and see if I may have missed anything. These are that good so go snag the whole set, you won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to see what will come next from Ms. DuMond!

Love Unexpected by Marina Hanna – Review by Pippa Woods

Love UnexpectedLove Unexpected by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Smokes this was one of the most fully developed romance/steamiest short stories I’ve ever read! At only 172 pages it is a fast read, but Hanna packed so much passion, character development, sizzle, and angst into it that it feels like a full-length novel. An older sexy billionaire meets a 20 something, snarky, focused hottie and the pages fly by before you know it. Not ultra-realistic but where would be the fun in that? Hanna is a gifted writer and kept my attention and the plot moving so that this had a full arch in relationship building, sexy panty-melting intensity, and plotline. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-developed cast with side plots and dramas going on. I can’t wait to read Mark and Lauren’s story!

First off needles to say I FREAKING loves this book is a undestatment. As I was reading there was an instant connection to the characters as well as where the book was taking place…

with the world how it is in current times, i felt so much relation with times of covid..mistakes of others make us pay for how we live in the world we do now. it made me truly think if we changed things we did would we be in in the situations or reality we currently are?

The characters, they were not just characters you loved or hated you undestood them. and that doesnt alwasys happen in novels. you got to feel their feelings and thoughts and undestand why they are the way they are and how they choose to be based on their own experiences.

And to add this book was a true eye opener for survival. Not just physically in a world that can greatly change but mentall survive in the changing world for what it is.

The book was very captivaiting. It wasa book that greatly provided a great distraction for me. It really gave me a great read as well as great enterainment.

This is a novel worth picking up and reading. If your anything like me you will yearn for more and want to see what happens to the characters next!

Again it was an amazing read and I loved it truly!

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found this paranormal, fantasy romance both entertaining and engaging. The synopsis does not give much away so I was looking forward to getting immersed in the storyline and I was not disappointed. Lillie has grown up with hushed whispers about the blue skinned Zayed and has been taught to fear them. However, when she has an encounter with the Zayed she realises that the whispers and rumours are not true and changes her mind about them. When she is kidnapped by a sorcerer who believes she knows more than she does Lillie is taken deeper into the Zayed’s world. As she gets to know, Chief, Clay, Heath and Brian she discovers that she feels more at home in their world than in her own and has to figure out her role to save both herself and the Zayed community. This is a short, fast paced read with an exciting and original storyline which flows wells. The plot is full of drama, fantasy, romance, wit, and suspense all of which had me hooked from start to finish. The authors wonderful world building and descriptive narrative really bought the Zayed and their community to life and I fell in love with all the main characters. The cliffhanger ending has left me looking forward to book two.

Ever have a book that pulled you in so quickly that the next thing you know it’s going on one in the morning? Yeah, this book is one of those. I thoroughly enjoy a hot alpha male and boy Adam definitely fits the bill. Then there is Julia aka Jules. She is everything an alpha male could want. The chemistry between the two could set the pages to flame. There were several moments where I wanted to shake Adam so hard and tell him to get his head out of his butt. But I seriously enjoyed this book. Now I have yet another author to add to my one-click list.

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 AUDIO by Amy McKinley was a story of romance. There is suspense in the story as well which makes it ten times better.

A soldier awakens deep in the untamed woods of the infamous Darien Gap. He has no recollection of who he is or why he is thereafter being injured until a gorgeous woman tells him his name. But can he put his faith in her? Mari Dias enlists Chris Shaw’s aid to flee a country dominated by the same family that pursues her in the jungle, where many sacrifice their lives but few survive. As Chris and Mari look for a way out of the forest, filters from his past begin to resurface in little doses. As they get closer, their adversaries become closer as well. Is he up to the task of battling the storm that threatens them all?

I loved every page of it. Each chapter was better than the next. I can’t wait to read the rest of the other books in this series.

Felicity Brandon has the talent of taking you right into the book and ignoring the outside world. The imagery makes you feel like you are experiencing the same things as the characters. The 21st Century Courtesan series has been a phenomenal journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book. I would highly recommend reading this series in order as it would be better enjoyed with all of the detail leading from book to book.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book after finishing book 4, I just had to know how everything was going to play out! I enjoyed all of the twist and turns of this story, the steamy moments, the insight into the many characters and of course the devoted fan letters.

As I reached the end, I felt as if the big scene at the end of the book fell flat. I had high hopes for the outcome and found that there just wasn’t enough detail for my liking. However, in saying that I did still thoroughly enjoy this series and would recommend it to others.

P.S. Dumond is a phenomenal author and this series is unlike any other.
