Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye – Review by Stephanie Chapman

Happily Ever AfterHappily Ever After by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given ARC of Happily Ever After, Don’t Worry I Still Hate You by Marie Skye in exchange for a review.

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Perrie kept this moniker in her mind while attending a bachelorette party. A coworker convinced her to try out a hookup app. The first twist in Happily Ever After, Don’t Worry I Still Hate You is brought into play when Marie Skye has Perrie hooking up with Ash. The pair had a past relationship that fell apart because of secrets that Ash had failed to divulge. After Perrie’s one night stand, she posted an ad for a roommate. After screening through applicants, she was overjoyed to find Ashley. Perrie goes on a visit to her family. Two weeks later, she gets a major shock when she sees a naked Ash standing in her kitchen. She tries to keep him at a distance, but something has Ash actively pursuing her.

Appreciation of Skye’s ability to write the emotions of Ash and Pierre are definitely worth noting. Each chapter is labeled with the view that I was looking through. I have to side with Ash’s perception being logical and his actions being reasonable. Pierre was an emotionally reactive character with major abandonment issues. This story is worth a 5-star rating. The well-developed characters, believable interactions, and light comedy made this a quick read for me but also a book that I couldn’t help reading more than once. I caution against younger readers because of the explicit scenes and profanity. The backstory of the characters is tied in with how each character is feeling from the current situation they are facing.

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg – Review by Kerry Baker

Black Dog RisingBlack Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg is a great fantasy romance book that really keeps you on your toes. The whole book just keeps throwing twists and turns out – just as you think you have got something figured out the author sends the story down a different path entirely. It mad the book surprising and such a good book to read. I loved the main characters – Emma and Toby were not only worked so well together but were perfect for this particular story.
The book is exciting to read. I think I enjoyed it even more because it was set in Suffolk, England. It is always nice to read a book set in my country and I always feel a little more connected with it. I am already looking forward to more from this author.

I always seem to fall in love with the variety of characters this author gives us. This one is no different. This character is one that takes time to get into their head but the more you know, the more they grow on you and Stormy is no different. There was a point I didn’t know where the author was bringing us with this character but I’m glad I took a chance to get to know him. I won’t be saying too much to give it away but here’s to you but be sure to check into this one. You will not be disappointed!

This book has such amazing authors in it. Each story was great! I decided to give a try and I wasn’t let down. I love anything by Marie Skye and this too, did not disappoint. Not only was this a great story but it was hilarious. I read this in a work day- literally. I opened the book and read the entire day until I’d finished. The main female character is Perrie (Pear) and she’s funny. I love her. I honestly couldn’t get enough of these characters. The main male character is Ash and he was so loveable in an irritating way- haha. Absolutely read this book. The premise is Perrie needing to find confidence in herself… or so she thinks. It’s a great read.

This author has done it again! Amanda Mellett is the author of Stormy’s Thunder: Satan’s Devils MC Utah, which is book 2 in the series. I love all of the Satan’s Devils books. There are all kinds of twists and turns and emotional rollercoasters. This book is no exception. Stormy is a man that has a lot of demons in his closet. This is when his demons come back to haunt him. But this time, he has something worth fighting for…Cat. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. Their connection and their commitment to each other is off the charts. I love the way that this author writes these stories. I am 100% behind this and all the other series. This book sucks you in and keeps you flipping pages until you are done with it! I was not disappointed at all! I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye – Review by Michelle Austin

Happily Ever AfterHappily Ever After by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Happily Ever After was a great 5 star read.
We get a mix of 21 romance stories from several great authors in this collection.
There is something for everyone, that is for sure.

My favorite was Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye.
Perrie and Ash pulled me right into their story. Perrie is in Vegas for a bachelorette party. When one of her friends sign her up for a hook-up app someone very familiar to her is on it and he’s in Vegas too, Ash. Later in the evening she decides to go for it, not realizing her mistake but getting a very happy ending. Moving forward she is looking for a roommate and she gets more than she bargained for. When she gets home she meets her new roommate and lets just say it was a hawt moment for her. Shocked in several ways which includes Ash standing in her home or I should say their home.

From here things get very interesting and I couldn’t put it down until I was done. These two had so many love and hate moments. We also get a glimpse into their past and things they have in common. These two didn’t know it but they were meant for each other. Loved it and would really like to see more from these two. Maybe even go back to when they first met.

I really enjoy reading the collections, it gives me an opportunity to read new authors and favorites. I look forward to reading more from these authors and would love to see more from several of the characters as well. If you’re looking for a great romance collection this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.

Askew Ever AfterAskew Ever After by Aubrey Wynne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My review is for Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne. I enjoyed reading this from beginning to end. This book makes the reader feel what Joss is feeling. She decided to leave her hometown and flee the the US so dealing with that, the loss of her mom, and being cheated on she has no desire to find a love interest.

Ben is the brother of Becky and once Ben and Joss meet each other there is chemistry there. Will Joss let her guard down and give Ben a chance? Does she even stand a chance to keep her heart locked away when he breaks out the origami?
I thought this was a great, quick read with characters you can relate to and root for. Looking forward to more by this author since this was my first read by her.

Flipping the Bird (Shift Creek, #1)Flipping the Bird by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Carrie Pulkinen is easily becoming one of my favourite authors.
I fell upon this author completely on accident and I’m so grateful that I did. I adore all her characters, her world building, story telling and, of course, her clever titles.
‘Flipping the Bird’ did not disappoint. It focuses around a crow shifter that is trying to save her dying town then in steps Donovan, the warlock with no magically powers. Their story is hilarious, steamy and completely chaotic – and I fell completely head over heels for these two.
I’d highly recommend to all my supernatural lovers.

This is a sweet romance that fits in with Valentine’s Day. I enjoyed being pulled into this small town, second chance romance. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her hands down. This is a fast paced story about romance, secrets and forgiveness. Rose has her own flower shop. She questions why she has not found love for herself but really there has only been one love for her. Liam’s lie is falling apart so he returns to his hometown. What will happen when he comes face to face with Rose? The one thing that either one never expects is love. What will fate have in mind for them? I enjoyed their characters and what they brought to the story. They really made it fun to read. I highly recommend this romance story.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When you are in slump after a mission has gone wrong and you start questioning things in your life, in walks an angel and you believe everything will be alright, or will it.

Xander is a navy seal but when his mission with his team goes wrong and causes him to have to take some down time to recover he feels that sometime just was not right with the intel, bit he has more to worry about when his girlfriend decides to leave him he feels like the world is working against him. One day all this changes when he hears a voice that he is instantly drawn too but will he be able to convince the owner of the voice they belong together.

Riley is a grad student, working in a coffee shop to help with the funds but one day she see him, the man who she can’t get out of her mind although she is in a relationship but what she thought was in her past, may invade her future.

I loved this story and I love Amy McKinley’s novels and this is just as good as the other stories. The chemistry between these two characters was brilliant and drawn you in. The writing draws you into the story and keeps your attention from the first page to the last.

I also think the secondary characters enhance the story and make this a un deniable great read. The tale twists and turns and brings both of the characters history to light which just adds to the mysteries within the story. I not only recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series but if you love this book you need to read the other series by this wonderful author.

Twisted Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Twisted SecretsTwisted Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twisted Secrets is the first book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. I first fell in love with Amy McKinley’s writing with the Gray Ghost series and the Deadly Isles Special Ops series is a spin off from that series which makes me even more excited to read it. Amy McKinley is the queen of the psychological suspense thriller and this is probably my favourite genre/trope to read.
Navy SEAL Xander Hale is struggling after his last mission went wrong and is feeling rather disillusioned with life. A chance stop off at a coffee shop brings him together with grad student Riley Evans. A relationship is the last thing that either are looking for. Xander has recently split from his girlfriend and Riley’s ex is acting weird. But they do say that love hits you at the most unexpected times.
As you expect from Amy McKinley, this is much more that ‘just’ a romance story. McKinley writes the most amazing thrillers that have you gripped from the very first page and keeps a tight hold of you until the very last second. Twisted Secrets keeps up this amazing tradition. This story will grab you and take you on a journey full of danger, intrigue and romance and you won’t want to put it down.

Stormy’s Thunder: Satan’s Devils MC Utah by Manda Mellett is a contemporary romance story. I have loved each and every book and the alpha sexy men and women that are part of a community of these and other MC chapters. In this book Stormy is not a likable man and he is someone that you want to strangle or something equally bad too. But in usual Manda style she showed us what the man is made of and what has brought him to the place he is now in. Once knowing that it makes you do a complete 360 and want to give him big ol’ hug. This story really packs a punch and has a lot going on.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen . This is my first Audible and I actually enjoyed listening and  Hollie done a wonderful job. I honestly liked listening a lot more than I thought I would. It was a nice change not staring at a screen. I absolutely love this author , I love her style of writing and the fact  she makes me chuckle. Her characters are fun, relatable and fully developed .  Jane and Ethan, she’s the Governors daughter and is used to getting what she wants.  A girls trip to Mardi Gras  finds her in the arms of Ethan  who is a hot as sin Vampire . He gives her the gift of  immortality and super strength.  There’s one tiny issue she doesn’t like the sight of blood and usually faints. I found myself chuckling throughout this story.  These two are funny and whitty. Find out what happens next by grabbing  this and giving it a  listen.  I highly recommend   and look forward to more audible books.

Stormy’s Thunder: Satan’s Devils MC Utah
By Manda Mellett

I absolutely loved Stormy and Cat’s story. We have met Stormy previously and he comes off as a total a**hole, but I was hoping there was a reason for that. We learn in this story what those reasons are. I found myself rooting for Stormy and Cat just as hard as they were fighting for each other. Cat has also been through a lot and unfortunately we see her go through more in this story. These two are meant for each other and I completely fell in love with this book as I do with every single book I have read from this author. Manda Mellett always gets all my emotions invested in her stories and that makes her one of my favorites. I don’t want to give anything away, I will just say that this is a must read. I highly recommend this book.

At Once (Adams Brothers, #2)At Once by Mindy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

At Once, is book 2 in the Adams Brothers series by Mindy McKinley. The Adams brothers aren’t looking for love, that is until the one woman comes along. We already saw Dom find his love in Lula, now it’s Mason’s turn. Mason and Gabi are just too cute together, they have great chemistry, and the build-up to them getting together was full of sparks. Gabi’s ex was a little added suspense. Looking forward to reading Seb’s book next.
