Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie a five-star read that will pull you in. This is number two in the series and I loved the first and am so happy we get more Sheridan in our lives, we all need a little Sheridan especially at the moment, she may be a demon, but that’s not all she is. There is a great story in this one and some fantastic passion and excitement. The pacing is fast, but well done and once you start it you will not want it to end. This has been a great series and I cannot wait for more.

I love discovering a new-to-me author whose work immediately pulls me into their story which then sparks to life before my eyes- their words able to block out the ‘real world’ while ensuring that I am fully engaged and invested in their creation. Well, Wildfire by Ashley A. Quinnwas all that and more- an unexpected little gem of a story that has left me with a taste for more of her work. I can feel the beginnings of an addiction forming. Her work reminds me of Ann Voss Peterson’s books. This is the second book in The Broken Bow series, and I have already gone back to purchase book one to read next- as well as pre-ordering the upcoming book in the series. While there were a few issues to find through the story, such as character name changes and wrong words used- they were quite minor and in the end they didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. This is primarily a romantic suspense- with plenty of danger, suspense, drama, intrigue, angst and emotion. But this is also a story of second chances, new beginnings, secrets, chemistry, connection, family, friendships- and more. Weave in the disturbing ‘stalker’ aspect, as well as the clever twists and turns- and this story became un-put-down-able. I was so absorbed by the story that I read it in one sitting- as I really needed to know how everything played out in the end. It has definitely left me wanting more- in a great way. So now I really can’t wait to devour the rest of the series! I was going to go into the story and give you a bit of a rundown on what to expect- but I think I will let you discover all the appeal for yourself- as I am sure you are going to enjoy it just as mush as I have. Highly recommended!

Rick is the third book in the Ingram Brothers seriesby Roz Lee. I have come into this series backwards, not realizing that when I one-clicked a copy of this book, that it was the third (and final ?) instalment in the series. This book can be read as a standalone, as each instalment focuses on one particular brother- but having said that, there were references and details in this book that made me curious about what occurred in the previous two books, so I will definitely be going back to read them as well. Rick has carried the burden of his secret for so long now- all through his military career with the Marines- it weighed heavily on him, but he felt that the military wasn’t the best environment to lay bare his soul. Finding a lover in a fellow Marine was an unexpected bonus, and for six years they kept their own secret from the world. But then Ricks world is shattered when his lover announces that he plans to marry someone else. Drinking his pain away seemed like the best idea at the time- drowning his sorrows in a gay bar- one too many drinks later and Rick is lucky a gorgeous blonde decides to take pity on him. But the blonde turns out to have closer ties to Rick’s world than he first realized- what happens next makes for a great read. This is an engrossing and emotive MM romance, with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

Valkyrie is proving herself to be a force to be reckoned with within the paranormal genre. I am thoroughly enjoying her world building and character development. And her writing simply gets better with each book. For complete picture, and sheer enjoyment, this book should be enjoyed in series order. Quite simply, once you’ve picked up one you will want to read them all. Cannot wait to see what Ms. Valkyrie brings us next!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up the Bake Believe by Cori Cooper. This was my first time reading her and omg this was adorable and fun to read, even at 35. I look forward to sharing this magical book with my teen daughter as well. I must say be prepared and have some munchies available while reading this because goodness the food and recipes make me want to devour a pan of brownies or something comforting and bad for me so much. I loved Cat. She was relatable and realistic and made me believe the magic she and her family hold is very much real and wonderful. I won’t give much more about details because I feel that would ruin this fun gem of a read. This is one if you love some coming of age mixed with magic and good food. I also found laughter to be a big part of my reading experience with this and with the way the world is right now who couldn’t use some laughter and joy.

Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie is the second book in the Life Is Hell series. Personally I think these books are best read in order as the story and the characters are all a continuation from the previous book. I am always really excited when I pick up a new book by this author because I know I am going to get something exciting and unique. It was brilliant to get back into this series as I enjoyed the first book so much. It didn’t take any time at all before I was completely hooked on this story. I made sure to give myself a good chunk of time to read this book as I would fly through it in one sitting. I loved the main character in this book – she is such an interesting character to read about. I instantly connected with her and wanted to read more. If you haven’t yet discovered this author then I would urge you to change that immediately. She is a fantastic author and everything she writes is just amazing. This is another 5* star read and I cannot wait to see what else this series has to offer.

I have read a few books from this author but she continues to blow my mind. I absolutely love paranormal romance but she always exceeds my expectations. This is the fifth book of the New Orleans nocturnal series. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to read this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this awesome book.
Asher needs a break from being the reaper so he goes on vacation. He is having fun but he leaves his door unattended which is a big problem. Asher doesn’t realize that someone escapes from the underworld which causes even more problems. He then has to get help from the one girl that gives him butterflies, Jasmine. She is a necromancer and she can tame usually any ghost but when Asher’s door gets locked she has to help him figure out a way to get these ghosts back. Will Asher and Jasmine figure out how to open his door or will they have to answer to the devil himself?

This is the story of Asher and Jasmine, one a reaper and the other a necromancer, they both deal with the dead, but they do get in each other’s way, but when Asher takes a vacation and leaves his door unattended, the ghosts know of only one other person who can help and much to her annoyance, it is Jasmine.
Jasmine opens the story at the morgue she works in, she is helping a couple of werewolves find out if someone died after being attacked by one of their kind, or whether it was just a normal dog, so she calls the spirit back from the other side to briefly reinhabit his body and give them the answers they are looking for, it is not the most pleasant of things to do, but as a necromancer, Jasmine is used to it, even if her clients normally end up throwing up in the bin. She asks if they want to go for drinks after the soul has been returned to the aether, but after what they just saw, it’s a resounding no, infact, it’s more often than not a no, people don’t like to associate with people who are around the dead a lot, this train of thought reminds her about Asher and how he ran a mile when she kissed him and asked him out, but when she goes to leave the morgue, she finds that the spirit she was talking to earlier is still waiting around by stepping through the poor guy and feeling like he sucked the energy right out of her, it turns out, that;s exactly what he was doing, a fun little weakness necromancers have. He starts talking to Jasmine and saying that he can’t find the light and neither can some other ghosts, but when they do find their way to it, the door is locked, Jasmine says that she will talk to the reaper for him, but has to go to a bachelorette party first.
Meanwhile, Asher is swimming in the sea and trying to get back to shore, he now knows why the no swimming sign was there, even being an immortal, he had struggled against the riptide, but now he is back safely on the beach, he thinks about why he made this impromptu trip to off season Aruba, it is to get his mind away from his emotions and a certain necromancer who he is trying to avoid and not think about how she makes him feel, reapers don’t usually have emotions and he always tried to play by the rules, but sometimes he just needed a break from reaping souls. So, drink in hand, he sat on his lounge chair and soaked up the sun, that us until another reaper materialises and questions him about his motives for being there, this led to more thoughts about how he is different from the other reapers and how he was scared that he may be falling for a necromancer and that would mean their fates would end up tied and he would become mortal and die, but was that something he wanted? It is during the conversation about how he had left his door unlocked with a fairy light on it that the consequences of that light attracting a spirit to cross back over from the other side, it is at this point that Asher rushes to check his phone and when that fries with all the notifications, he hopes that it doesn’t mean that his home is overrun as well.
It is when he gets back and realises that his door is locked that he calls in a favour to check what has happened in hell and indeed finds out that a ghost has escaped from his door and that it is the one who will cause the most problems for him, so when he asks Jasmine for help, she initially refuses him because of their past, however, when the ghosts keep coming to her for answers, she realises that helping Asher will be the only way that she can get some peace and quiet while also keeping her energy. Can this unlikely pairing work together to help the souls move on, or will the one who escaped keep causing more trouble than they bargained for? This is a romantic comedy with a whole slew of ghostly happenings and unusual elements added into the mix, but the end is only found by following along with their spiritual capers.

What a fun paranormal romance read. I really enjoyed following along with Donovan and Marty as they meat Alice. The little misunderstandings between the two are perfect to give the story a little extra drama, but the main focus was getting the creek fixed. Seeing their relationship grow and the sacrifices they are willing to make together to save the town is sweet. Marty, Donovan’s familiar, is a nice bit of comic relief and I found it hilarious that he had a gas issue. I look forward to seeing what is in store next, hoping it is the story of Alice’s friend Megan.

Another really enjoyable read from this series – I really like reading these books they are so funny and entertaining. The author has a great writing style that captures tour attention from the very beginning. I loved the banter between the characters; they had me laughing out loud so many times. The storyline was great, the Grim Reaper and a Necromancer – probably not two characters you would expect but they were great together. I loved the twists in the story it definitely made it less predictable than I was anticipating. I really hope there’s more to come from this New Orleans Nocturnes series from Ms Pulkinen – I am definitely loving these stories!

Faida (Heartstrings Book 2) by Brooke May was a wonderful continuation. I love the plot and setting of Brooke May’s world and this just added a different level. Faida is up for a challenge and seems to have met her match. I felt for both hers and Robert’s history. I cannot wait for the whole series to be done, this is a world I know I will want to revisit again and again.

Hell Hath No Fury is the second book in the Life is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. I must say I was super excited to get my hands on this one. I pretty much devoured it in one sitting. I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is Sheridan and Millicent story and takes place at Juniper Lake , Sheridan is a hedonistic demon and Millicent is a human . When Millicent finds herself in danger Sheridan thinks its because of her so she to do anything she can to try and protect her. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. Faida is the second book in the Heartstrings Series by Brooke May. This is a short Paranormal Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I literally read in one afternoon I had to know what was going to happen. I loved Faida and even though she has had some things happen to her to cause her to have a icy she may have just met her match with Robert. He’s got an ex that did him wrong and he pretty much swore off love. His only love is for his daughter Alice. I absolutely loved Alice. Can Faida help Robert find his love? I highly recommend reading this heart-warming book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next. I highly recommend reading this whole series if you haven’t started already.

Moonlit Whisper : An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley. Let me start this review by saying how much I adored this story , this author never fails to drag me into her stories and making me never want to join reality again. This is a quick read but it’s not hindered in anyway but that, from start to finish it had everything I was needing in a great read. The characters are complex and relatable, they pulled me right in and I didn’t want to leave. I happily got lost in the pages with them for a while. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. But the characters truly bring it to life and I loved the time I got to spend with them. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!
I really enjoyed this book, and while it is the 2nd in the series, it reads as a standalone. These stories are so fun and I love how the author has her own spin on cupids and I really enjoy seeing how these stories play out, especially with the strong willed man fighting it every step of the way. I cannot wait for more!

This is the second book of May’s that I’ve read. Fadia is part of the Heartstrings Series, but they are standalones. May can write and she knows how to do it well.
Fadia is a Cupid and helps Cupid with his work. Akio is her sister and she isn’t sure why there is a celebration when Akio matched a couple. A new job makes her see how things are. The quote I chose for Fadia is: “Hi, I’m Faida. Like Alice said, I’m her new nanny. I’m new to town actually.”
Robert is a single dad and cold hearted. He doesn’t let his guard down unless it’s to his daughter. He does want a relationship, but doesn’t know how. The quote I chose for Robert is: “Faida, I can’t deal with this right now. My VP is coming and I have a meeting to prepare for. Just … leave.”
Mika works for Robert and has been a good friend of his since his divorce. She likes working with him and she does like him. The quote I chose for Mika is: “I’ve never wanted to go anywhere. I’m happy with where I’m at and what I do. Robert is a great boss and I get raises when it is fair. I don’t get bored and Robert values my opinion. I worked for one other man before him and that man treated me horribly. Robert is nothing like the icy man most think he is.”

Hell Hath No Fury is the second book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. I am excited every time I see a new book by Naomi Valkyrie. I know that it will be a great book and this book is not disappointing. The plotline has grabbed me from the first page until the last word. The fantasy, magic, demons, mystery, and secrets are what kept me interested. The characters are fully developed and make the story real. This is about Sheridan and Millicent’s story. I found the relationship between them fun and exciting. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens between Sheridan and Millicent. You will not be sorry.

Faida is book 2 in the heartstrings series. The books have much of the same characters in them but do not have to be read in order. Faida is one of Cupid’s angels sent out to find love for people. Faida’s newest quest is not that easy. Robert’s heart is closed off to all except Alice, his sweet young daughter. Faida had her own heart made of ice so she has ways to get through to Robert and help him find a suitable match. This was a quick read for me but doesn’t mean I liked it any less. Another great book by this author with a easy to follow story and I look forward to more by this author.

Another book by Brooke May that pulled at my heartstrings. It’s been a while since a paranormal romance series has kept my attention but this sweet and funny romance is doing the trick. Faida is a cupid that seems to always get the troublemakers and Robert is a single father to an adorable daughter. Faida and Robert both have icy hearts and it was enjoyable to watch them chip away at them. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was a sweet, fun, and original book. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone but it is my suggestion that you read the first one for the best experience and because it’s a great book. We met Faida in the first book and in this one we get to know more about her. Faida is trying to help Robert get past his icy heart and open it up for love again. I also really liked Alice, her character was cute and at the same time she was wise beyond her years. I read this story in one sitting because I didn’t want to put it down. I truly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

Hell Hath No Fury (Life Is Hell Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie. This is the 2nd book in this fun series. It can be read as a standalone but I always like to read the books in order to not miss a detail. This picks back up in Juniper Lake and its about Millicent and Sheridan. Faida (Heartstrings Book 2) by Brooke May. This is the second book in this series and it’s just as good as the first. In the first book we are introduced to Faida who is one of six beings that helps Cupid to mortals and their love life. Faida has had her heart broken so many times and been let down so many times that she no longer believes in the love she helps Cupid find for people. When she meets Ice King Robert Peters who has also been let down multiple times in love, Faida has met her match. When she tries to help Robert find love she is going to have to change her way of thinking to make it work. Robert has made it very clear he only loves one person and that is his daughter and nothing will change his mind. When Faida tells him he’s stuck with her until he finds love he’s not super excited. This story will make you laugh out loud and root for the underdog. Read Faida to find out if Robert finds true love.

Hell, Hath No Fury (Life is Hell #2) by Naomi Valkyrie
5 out of 5 stars
This is the second book in Life is Hell series written by Naomi Valkyrie and I enjoyed it… The book was a little slow at first not as fast paced as the first book in this series. I really enjoyed the characters and the way they played off each other and their little quirks.
We met Sheridan and Millicent in the first book of this series and there was an instant attraction but Sheridan fought her attraction to Millicent because Millicent does not know about paranormal stuff and with Sheridan being hedonism demon and all.
Now Millicent is in danger and Sheridan thinks its because of her. Sheridan instincts is to protect her – but she might also be the reason Millicent is in danger. It figures she finally find someone to give her heart to, but chances are she will just end up breaking hers – or get her killed….
Who is after Millicent? Is it really because of Sheridan or something else? Can Sheridan save Millicent? Will they have a happily ever after or will someone die?
Great read cannot wait until next book in series….

Faida be Brooke May is the second book in the Heartstrings series. This is a great continuation of her series but can be read as a stand-alone. Although I found this was a pretty quick book to read I was fully drawn into the story from the start. I really enjoyed the characters and the connection between them. They both seemed so jaded at first and I loved how you saw them develop as the story went on. The book itself was a great story. The authors has created a sweet but fun story that you will find hard to put down once you start reading. It was wasn’t to read this book in one sitting, although I wish I could have made myself draw it out a little longer. Brooke May has done a brilliant job with this book and I would definitely recommend it.

The second in the ‘Heartstrings’ series introduces us to Faida, one of the six beings who help Cupid guide us mortals to love. Faida has grown jaded after eons of helping humans find love and as a result now has an ice cold heart. “Assassinations, infidelity, and betrayals of her past haunt her present”. However, Faida meets her match in ice king Robert Peters who has also been disappointed in love. Robert is cold and ruthless with everyone except his young daughter. Faida needs to soften her own heart towards love if she is to help Robert find love. This is an engaging and enjoyable sweet paranormal romance and the author really brings the characters and setting to life with her descriptive narrative. It’s a lighthearted and heartwarming romantic story which had me fully immersed in the story from start to finish. Although part of a series it can be read as a standalone story but some of the characters do overlap. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Faida is the 2nd book in the Heartstrings Series by Brooke May. It is a funny but sweet paranormal romance. It can be read as a standalone but I’d recommend also reading Aiko, which is the first book in the series. Faida is a cupid. Cupid himself has too much work for just one person so had a small group of women who carry out much of his work for him. Having become demoralised about love, Faida is struggling with her role as a cupid. If she doesn’t have much belief in love herself, then how can she instil it in others. This is not helped when she’s given a tricky assignment to complete. Robert Peters only loves one person and that is his adorable daughter Alice. He has absolutely no wish to become involved in any romantic relationship so he’s less that impressed when Faida announces that he’s stuck with her until he falls in love. This is a funny and charming read. I particularly found the early interactions between Faida and Robert very amusing as both are exasperated with the other. This is a short book which I devoured in a couple of hours but the author manages to pack a lot of content in and keeps the reader engaged throughout.
