This is my second book by India Kells and the second installment of the Chicago Vigilantes series. I really liked the first book and couldn’t wait to read this one. Urban Justice didn’t disappoint. Sloane (main female character) is working to make the wrongs in her past right by getting rid of Phantom, a deadly drug taking over the streets of Chicago. Professor Luke Radcliffe, who is a former Marine, is our main male character and he’s got his own set of past situations to deal with. How will these two characters come together and help each other? Read this book and find out. I always say this but read them in order!

This was my first book by Evelyn Sola. This was a sweet book. I liked the main female character Miranda, she definitely likes Christmas decorating more than me but it put me in the Holiday spirit for sure. Nick Bane is our main male character, he has a rocky start but I ended up loving him just as much as Miranda. If you’re looking for a cute holiday book, this is the one to pick up and “unwrap” (I know that was cliché but it’s still true!). After this one, I’m interested to see what else Evelyn has for me to get lost in.

The The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink is a book that will hit you in the feelers. Especially if you have ever experienced domestic abuse. Be aware that if you are still raw about it this book can trigger some negative emotion. However, if you are in a place where you are just sick of that “feeling” this is an encouraging story. A marvelous story about a woman’s struggle to find herself. Although fiction, and rarely do we find the kind of monster that Ethan is, the underlying story is the same. Gianna’s story is all too familiar to me. If you just want to know more about a very real situation that takes place every day, then this book is a must read. Be aware there are adult situations that may not be your cup of tea, but this book will encourage or open your eyes depending on your life experience.
First, We Kill All the Lawyersis the first book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay and it really was such a fun read. This is a little different than the other books of hers that I have read- but just as intriguing, clever, and well-woven. This is a paranormal romantic suspense- a great murder mystery with vampires, lawyers, crime and investigation, a serial killer, hidden agendas, revenge, shifters, politics, and all woven with a very original take on vampire lore. Donovan Trait is a highly respected lawyer- a superstar in courtroom circles, but there is more to him than meets the eye. For one, he’s a vampire who’s over 300 years-old. Things take a dangerous and suspenseful turn when someone attempts to murder him. Luckily vampires are hard to kill, or this story would have ended rather quickly. Who has got him in their crosshairs and why? Then other lawyers begin to meet their ‘sticky ends’- and everything points to a serial killer obsessed with lawyers. But apart from all the victims being lawyers, nothing about the case connects or makes sense to Donovan and his ‘team’. The bodies are piling up, with no idea who could be targeted next. Donovan will need to do something to draw out the killer, especially if he is to protect those he cares about. What ensues makes for a gripping and suspenseful read. Add in the intriguing vampire lore details, the other paranormal elements, and a sweet romance- and I was hooked, reading it all in one sitting so I wouldn’t miss a moment. The ending leaves an opening for more- with some tantalizing threads that I hope we get to explore more in future instalments. I hope the next book isn’t too far away, because I can’t wait to continue this series.

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 By R.L. Dunn 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn. They are stories that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The books have action, danger, and romance. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Both the storyline/plot and the characters are amazing. The author does an amazing job of making the characters come alive. I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. There are suspenseful moments as well as very romantic ones. Don’t miss out on a boxed set that is exciting and entertaining to read. I highly recommend reading them.

Dunn – Review by Laura Furuta
Not sure how this is my first book by this author. I just know that after reading this one I will be digging into everything else available. Her writing style hit me in the best way and I loved every single thing about this book, even the parts I hated because they were written so that I felt the emotions and the feelings coming straight off the pages.
I know this was a book written by an author that did a lot of research and spoke to a lot of survivors and reading it was not easy in many parts but… it absolutely brought awareness to me anyway that this does happen, maybe not in the exact way this storyline played out but the fear, the feeling trapped, the emotional breakdown of a person’s everything happens and I can not even imagine.
Just focusing now on this story, Gia has become my hero, I never thought in a million years that this book would end the way it did. I loved Derek but for some reason he did not play the part in this story like I thought he would and I’m so very impressed with how this author handled both of these characters. I was reminded of a movie while reading this and then the last part of the book hit and another movie came into play. I would love to see this one on TV, taking both of the movies I was reminded of and putting them together into one would be amazing. This book held a unique storyline that I’ve never read before and I’m completely impressed with the entire experience, even the parts I wanted to just block out.
There is definitely a need for the trigger warnings as I’m sure this will affect many, but I’m so so happy I chose to read this book and can not wait to read more from this author.
He’s a broken man searching through the past for answers.
She’s his childhood best friend he had no idea he was in love with.
Thomas Capshaw never thought he’d put his dreams of being a sketch artist on the back burner and end up working in New York City far from home. The very last thing he expects is the inheritance of his famous grandfather’s beach cottage on the sandy shores of Florida where he spent his childhood summers.
Emeline Fischer is an aspiring artist trying to make ends meet, working an assortment of odd jobs while painting her dreams on canvas in hopes of landing her own gallery show, someday. When she is Thomas’ waitress during her shift at the local beach diner, she immediately recognizes her sensitive childhood friend who promised, long ago, to protect her from her unstable home life when they were teens.
The two friends take a journey into their past through a box of photos left behind at Cap Cottage and rediscover their mutual passion for art – and each other. Thomas doesn’t plan to fall in love with Emmy – but, maybe, he’s always been in love with her.
Can he forgive himself for his past mistakes and start over in the only place that ever felt like home? Or, will his guilt and the demands of his cutthroat, big-city career prevent him from following his heart and reuniting with the only woman he ever truly loved?

The Sound Of Silence is part of the Leave Me Breathless World by Dakota Willink. This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author, but definitely not the last. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page. I couldn’t stop listening. The issues of abuse were brought to the forefront and I believe that Ms. Willink did a great job bringing these issues to light. It is frightening to think how many people are affected by abuse.
Gianna is such a strong woman and was brave enough to escape the heartache that her marriage became. Derek is strong, stoic and patient. He also had the strength to give Gia the time and tools what she needed to protect herself. He is a really good man. And then we have Ethan, he is a psychopath who showed his true colors in the end. This is an intense book that has warnings for triggers, but my hope is that anyone who reads this book would get something out of it, be it courage to leave an abusive situation or compassion for those in that situation.
Sean Crisden, Sarah Puckett and Connor Crais did a wonderful job with the narration of this book. I have listened to books by Sarah in the past and she is always excellent. She brought Gia to life. This is my first listen of both Sean and Connor, but I will be looking out for them in future audiobooks. They have really nice and sexy voices.
This book has me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen in the end. I really look forward to read more books by Dakota Willink. Brilliant is my best description of this story.

Talk about one twisted story! It’s a dark romance with suspense built right in. I love reading stories like this. They keep me on the edge of my seat. Rooting for the characters to overcome themselves and others to survive.
The storyline is fan-freaking-tastic! It’s up and down and had me looking for hope in her story. I ran through a gambit of emotions and near the end? I could feel and hope right along with the main character. I AM

Have you ever wished you could erase your memory of reading a book or set of books so you could read them again for the first time and get hit with all those feels for the first time? Well, that’s how I feel about the books in the Secure Boxed Set by R.L. Dunn. Bafore reading the books in this box set I had never read any of R.L. Dunn’s work but these books have made me completely fall in love with her writing. The Secure Boxed Set contains the 3 full length novels that are: Secure Desire – Ian and Cassie’s story Secure Again – Martin and Elizabeth (Beth)’s story Secure Heart – Julian and Holly’s story.
All three of these books completely gripped me from the very beginning, took me on the most amazing roller coaster journey before spitting me out at the very end wondering what the hell I’d just gone through.
If I had to pick a favourite, which is a very, very difficult job as I absolutely adores all three books and all 3 couples, I’d have to pick Secure Heart for one main reason. That reason being that adorable little girl Sadie who totally stole my heart (and Julian’s). Holly’s sick little girl had me in tears so many times. Yeah, I‘d better add a tissues needed warning for this particular book. This little girls outlook on life (and her own possible death) will totally tear at your heartstrings.
In addition to being romance novels, these books are so much more. The danger, intrigue, drama and action with have you totally gripped and not wanting to put these books down.

Rick: Ingram Brothers #3 By Roz Lee 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Rick: Ingram Brothers #3 by Roz Lee. It is a story that had me hooked from the beginning. I love the characters of Rick Ingram and Brent Whitehall. The attraction/chemistry between them is undeniable. They find themselves roommates. What does the future hold for them? Will they take a chance on their feelings for each other? Read this book to find out. This story has some hot, steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. It also had my emotions go up and down the entire time I was reading it. I grew to care about what happens to Rick and Brent with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. There are additional characters that interact with Rick and Brent who I enjoyed reading about. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the final page. I highly recommend reading both this story and the series.

It is the next exciting book in a series that I have loved since the first story. The book has an intriguing plot and storyline as well as wonderful characters. What does the future hold for Rowena and those she calls friends and allies? Read this book to find out. This story has action and danger. It had me turning pages wondering what is going to happen next. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I would suggest reading these books for you to fully understand the situations that occur in each story. Don’t miss out on an entertaining story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Wow, wow, wow! This book was absolutely amazing. This is my first read by this author, and I can’t believe it’s taken so long to find her! While this is a dark romance read with elements that are emotional and hard! What this book brings is everything! This book has emotions that take you on a journey that is completely separate to the journey this storyline takes you on. This book has suspense that leaves you on the edge of your seat it has heartache and characters that you can’t help but love. The chemistry that Gianna and Derek create really bring this story to life, following these two characters and seeing their journey makes this book even more worthwhile. This story is captivating from the very beginning and this author deals with the hard issues wonderfully and with dignity. I highly recommend this read and can’t wait to read more from this author!

5 stars! Wow! What an excellent read, I was immediately sucked into this book. This book has definite trigger moments and I appreciate that the author makes note of that. The fact that Gianna is strong enough to say enough is enough and gets out of the hell she is living in is so beautiful to me. I felt so disgusted at the fact that Ethan, a cop, planned to meet Gianna and to be with her no matter what. The way he treats her is unacceptable and had me wanting to get into this book somehow. I appreciate how Derek took his time with Gianna, and made sure she was comfortable in everything and with everything. This book was truly remarkable in the way the story was told, the characters are developed and the detailing is laid out. I hope this book reaches other women in similar situations and gives them the strength and courage to finally say they have had enough.

Donovan I’ve been stabbed why is what I want find out. Someone is targeting lawyers but why. The question on Donovan’s mind. Who’s out to get him. This is not your typical vampire book. Donovan is a lie about being a vampire by night. He’s s target in this killer attack but if he can’t be killed who is the next target. Donovan needs to find out before someone is really killed. Can he identify the killer before the next victim is met. This is fast paced and well written I highly recommend it to anyone.

The Sound of Silence (Leave Me Breathless) by Dakota Willink is a dark suspense romance story. Dakota has tackled something that is a raw and emotional subject, domestic abuse, that may cause some triggers, so please tread carefully before you dig in. This compelling and gripping read is very emotive and will make your heart ache and break. This is a story where you are all consumed and coming out the other side seems like a myth. What makes it even harder is who to trust and turn to because someone who is trusted and a part of the law is the one person who is hurting you. I applaud the women who shared their harrowing tales which enabled Dakota to write this beautiful story that sees her passion and compassion shine through. It had me enthralled.

They were the quintessential ‘it’ couple. Young, beautiful and ambitious. Everyone said they had what it took to make it. That they would last. She had stupidly believed it. All of it.
Hook, line & sinker.
Then he’d walked away and never looked back.
Never knew what he left behind.
Years later he finally returned to the place where they’d grown up. Met. Fell in love. Smiling and looking all handsome with his big strong SEAL body, and turning Ally’s carefully constructed world upside down.
But Archer realized his mistake and though it took some time, he was ready to make it right. For everyone involved.
And Christmas in Blissful was the perfect setting for magic, romance and a rekindled flame.
Can Archer and Ally find a way to let go of the past and reach for a future beyond Christmas Day?

She loves to write about tough heroines who find love when they’re not looking for it and larger-than-life heroes who would never give up on the right girl. She lives in a flat in Germany with her husband who occasionally interrupts her in the writing cave to ask for her delicious vegan Pho or to sweep her off on a weekend adventure. The heroines in her books are a combination of her ‘Girls’ and people from her travels who’ve left lasting impressions.
Most importantly, she wants you to know the sassy older women in her books are thanks to the strongest women she knows, her grandmothers.

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola was a good 4 star read. This was a fun read about a daughter falling for her mothers boss.
Nick’s uncle talked him into coming and working at his office in Boston. Lets just say he didn’t make many friends on his first day in the office. He felt like his uncle was a little too lax with his staff and Nick didn’t have plans to be the same way.
At the company Christmas party he meets Miranda and is instantly attracted to her. One problem stands in his way…..he’s her mothers boss and she doesn’t care much for him. Nick ends up convincing her to try a relationship, he wants to go public but she isn’t quite ready to tell her mother.
What will happen when her mother learns the truth? Can they have a HEA?
Overall this was a good read, we get some really steamy scenes and these two had a great connection that came off the pages. My only issue is I didn’t care for Miranda’s excuses for not wanting to tell her mother, I got slightly annoyed by her along with Nick. There is an unexpected twist that brings the secret to a head. All of the secondary characters were great, I really liked Nicks family. If you are looking for a fun steamy romance this is the one for you. 1-c.ick and get started today.

This book was not at all what I thought it would be. I honestly was surprised at the turn it took and once it started I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters, the setting was very well done, and it was pretty easy to read, it had a nice flow. There were some great dramatic moments with the families and because it’s around a major holiday I think that made them even more believable and some of the situations are one’s that are honest to goodness horrifying to a new couple in your downstairs apartment in your parents home! HA! I hope to see more written about Andrew or maybe Joe.

Unwrapped Evelyn Sola 3 out of 5 stars I’ve never read anything by Evelyn Sola before so I was not sure what to expect from Unwrapped or the author in general. I was drawn to the story originally because I am a sucker for a holiday themed book and I thought the plot was just different enough from what I gravitate toward! I will admit that while the book was good overall, my attention came and went. I did enjoy the chemistry of the characters as the storyline progressed but favored Nick far more than Miranda. The female lead was a bit too “young” for me to really connect with her. This was a good book to pass the time and not a super long read. It definitely sparked my interest in Evelyn Sola and I would love to read more by this author.

Unwrapped is the first book I’ve read by this author. I thought the book was well written and I mostly did like the characters.
Nick is a bit arrogant and it took me a bit to like him. He’s like the guy you love to hate in a good romance book haha With that being said, everyone has their reasons for being the way they are.
Nick is a temporary boss at his Uncle’s company and the first day he gets into the office, things don’t go so well and not to many people like him. He’s nothing like his sweet, friendly, well liked uncle. Fast forward to the holiday party and Nick spots a girl he cannot keep his eyes off of. Only Problem is her mom literally hates Nick. Miranda has heard horror stories at the dinner table every night for the past 2 months or so. Will Miranda throw caution to the wind and end up spending time with Nick or will she keep her distance? Read the book to find out. Looking forward to more by this author.
