Alpha Bet Guys Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Amanda Gonzalez

Alpha Bet Guys Boxed SetAlpha Bet Guys Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alpha Bet Guys series follows five friends after they reunite and start over in these five novellas. A-Hole follows Ace, comedian, and Ella, bank teller, in their steamy romance that gets interesting when the Alpha Bet Guys add in a bet. The Big O is between Ozzy and Hazel, two nerdy characters who have some serious chemistry. Need the D features Dante and Julia in a story where the age gap is reversed and Julia wants a baby. Hard F is Fox and Jenna’s novella in an opposites-attract billionaire romance. Ride the C follows Cruz and Mia where the characters are two aging models. Every story is full of steamy romances, witty dialogue, and some pretty interesting bets. From one book to the next, I couldn’t stop reading until I’d completed the set, now I can’t wait to read more material from Phoebe Alexander.

The Alpha Bet Guys Boxed Set is a collection of 5 novellas from one of my favourite writers, Phoebe Alexander. Before reading the whole boxed set, I had previously read A Hole, the first story in this boxed set but I read it again to get the full flow of all 5 stories.
This is a collection of stories about 5 friends who have moved back to Philadelphia and live together in 2 adjacent penthouses. The five guys are Ace, Ozzy, Dante, Fox and Cruz and each guys gets his own story. The common theme among them, is in that each book the guys place a bet relating to the love life of the hero of that book.
I really loved this set of books. The guys are all lovable in their own ways but what I really love is the message that Phoebe Alexander gets across in these book, as with many of her books and that is the body positive image. The women that these guys date and form relationships with are not skinny glamazons. They are everyday women who carry a few extra pound and have curves. As a woman who has more than a few curves I love reading Phoebe Alexander’s work. It’s not only the tall, thin stunning blondes who fall in love with the good guys. This message is put across more so in the final book where we get the story of aging model Cruz, where he and his aging lady model friend rebel against the airbrushed perfect look everyone is trying to achieve.
Like all Phoebe Alexander books, you get some amazing ‘sexy times’ in these books. She sure knows how to write a hot love scene!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jinxed by Maggie Adams is the second book in the Hell on Heels series. This was a quick read that kept me wanting more. There is romance, fun dialogue, relatable characters, and more. I have enjoyed other books by this author in the past and this did not disappoint. I really like the characters have lived life and are not just starting out in adulthood. I appreciate this more as I get older. There is an opposite attract storyline which leads to some good banter between the characters. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to more from this author in the future.

This is a great steamy collection of stories by an author I have read before and love. I continue to be impressed with the books and how creative and different each story is.

This boxset is the Books 1-5 of The Alpha Bet Guys. Each of the guys is friends who have grown together and now are close friends. Just like brothers.
Each book follows each guy and their journey to find love. Each of the couple are unique and their stories are so different. Each story is full of laughter and steamy romance and always leave you with a feeling of will they or won’t they.

You can’t help falling in love with the Alpha Bet Guys and following their stories from beginning to end.

Jinxed by Maggie Adams is the second book in the Hell on Heel series. This is a quick read that is highly entertaining from start to finish. This is a fantastic opposites attract story that is fast paced and such a good read. I loved Mitchell and Sadie together but Sadie is easily my favourite character. I thought she was so relatable and engaging.

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams

Jinxed is the second book in Maggie Adams’ Hell on Heels series and while I really enjoyed book one, I loved Jinxed.
I was incredibly excited when I first read the synopsis because honestly, this short read has everything I love. Empaths, occult and soul connections but I was fearful that I was setting my expectations too high! Maggie Adams exceeded my expectations with a fast paced, engaging story with characters I loved.
This short story is less than 100 pages in length so really, what harm is there to take a chance on this (in my opinion) 5 star read?
I look forward to more from Maggie Adams in the future!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May. This book had me completely hooked from start to finish. I love a story that makes me forget about the outside world for a bit and this definitely delivered on that. The characters are complex and draw readers into their world so completely. It was an easy fun read and just what I needed and was looking for in a read. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. This author is definitely climbing my favorites list quickly. Can’t wait for more! Four big stars and highly recommended!

This was a fun read. It makes you laugh out loud. Five best friends, who met in college, take you on adventure in their quest in finding “The One”. They also have a tendency for making bets, which when misunderstandings happen, can get them in trouble. Each one faces some funny and serious situations, but in the end come out on top. I really enjoyed this book. I will be reading more books from this author. If you like laugh out loud stories, you’ll enjoy this series.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May – Review by Krista Vaughan

Willow is such a loveable and relatable lady! She dumps a loser of a boyfriend after spending a drunken night out with her friends. Her night gave her 4 numbers and she allows herself to be convinced to call the numbers to see if she had met her true love…at a bar.. while drunk. What a bunch of winners she finds! There IS Gun, though. Their chemistry is intense and all-encompassing… And she has to avoid him to not be the “other woman”. Such a great read! Highly recommended!

5/5 Stars

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by May, but it is the first one by her that is a standalone. May is talented and it shows in the way she writes.

Willow hasn’t had much luck in the dating department. Going out with her brother and sister-in-law ends with her waking at their house the next morning. From there things go downhill and fast. The quote I chose for Willow is: “I’ll keep a hold of them until I’ve had more time to think about it.”

Gun didn’t want to think about Willow, but doing a fundraiser with her doesn’t help. Sophie leaves and all Willow does is remind him of her. The quote I chose for Gun is: “I’ll see myself out. Good-bye, Willow.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the Hell on Heels series from Maggie Adams, so book two was a no brainer one-click for me. This book is probably safe to read as a standalone if that is more your thing though. I really love how relatable Maggie Adams manages to make her characters. They are realistic and encounter realistic things that make it that much more believable.

In this quick but packed read, Jinxed, we get the story of Mitchell and Sadie. These two are the epitome of opposites attract and reading the journey is both a funny and loveable read. I really was pulling for these two to get that happily ever after. I cannot wait to see what the next book may bring us.

Scorching Hot Mess is a great romantic comedy from Brooke May. I have read, and enjoyed, a few of her other books so was looking forward to reading this one.
So glad that I read this book as I really enjoyed it. It’s funny and quirky and will entertain you from start to end.
Poor Willow has no luck when it comes to love so when a drunken night leads her to have four napkins with phone numbers on them, her best friend pushes her to meet these men and have some fun.
We all need a friend like Willow. She’s funny and quirky and a very loyal friend. My one moan about this book is Willow’s friend. I found her to controlling and pushy. I wouldn’t be able to cope with a friend like that. Luckily Willow knows how to deal with her.
I also adored Gun. He’s such a strong, dependable and caring man. I was captivated by him straight away and was hoping that Willow was going to have some fun with him.
If you’re up for an enjoyable, fun romance then Scorching Hot Mess is definitely the book for you. Give it a try!!

This is the first book I’ve picked up by this author, and I can honestly say I am intrigued. Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is delightfully funny. It has all the fixings of a great romantic comedy: steam, drama, sarcasm, jealousy, betrayal, and even a blind raccoon. The protagonist, Willow Everett, is relatable and charming, as well as witty. When she meets Gun, the connection between them is obvious and the pages turn effortlessly because you just want to see how everything turns out. It was quite the ride, following her through all her misadventures in this entertaining book. Awesome characters and witty charm. I recommend this book with 4 out of 5 stars!

Scorching Hot Mess is a rom com by Brooke May. This is not the first book I have read by Ms. May, but is my new favorite by her. This story sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down until I finished. The characters are believable, the dialogue is witty, and the romance is scorching hot. After a drunken night out, Willow finds herself with four napkins with numbers on them and no other memories of the night. It is hilarious watching her try to figure it out. I truly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it if rom com and romance are your thing.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is a fun and enjoyable read that will most definitely put a smile on your face.

Willow gets herself into a bit of a dilemma when she can’t quite piece together the events of a drunken night out. Her main clues are the phone numbers she finds on a bunch of wrinkled-up napkins. On the search for ‘Mr Right’, she decides that calling them up could help on her hunt, but things don’t quite go as she hoped.
I was looking for a light-hearted read when I picked this book, but I got a lot more. The author makes the characters strong and relatable and the story funny. It was a quick read for me, mainly because I couldn’t put it down.
This was my first time reading anything by Brooke May, but I will definitely lookout for more in the future.

Jinxed is the second book in the Hell On Heels series by Maggie Adams. It is a romantic comedy, which made for a delightfully funny romp- but with some secrets, a little of the supernatural, some danger, and a touch of drama the story made for a fun read.
After meeting Sadie and the “soul sisters” in Miranda’s story, MINX (Book #1), I was really looking forward to reading Sadie’s story here. And I am happy to say that she, and Ms. Adams didn’t disappoint. My favourite of the series, so far!
Looking forward to the other ‘soul sisters’ stories!

I have yet to read a book by Brooke May that I did not just outright laugh while reading. This book is no exception to the rule. I was so excited to get my hands on this as soon as I saw the teasers. Scorching Hot Mess is an easy read with lots of aspects to it that almost anyone who loves to laugh could read this and find it absolutely enjoyable. I really loved our MC, Willow Everett. She is the definition of a hot mess lol. I found this catchy and relatable because this is often a phrase I use to describe my kiddos or myself lol. Someone is always having a hot mess kind of day in our house. I loved how this book read so fast as well even at a full length novel. I got to devour it on a sunny afternoon and it could not have been the more perfect read to lift my spirits. Ok so this was a fun quick read. I read book 1 of this series and did enjoy it, but I absolutely loved this one! The only complaint I have is that I wish it was longer as I enjoyed reading and did not want it to end! Opposites attract is one of my favorites.

I loved Mitchell and Sadie, I actually enjoyed all of the characters. I appreciated that they weren’t all teenagers, I enjoy those as well but this one was more up my alley! The friendship / family aspect came through perfectly for me, and I loved how even though it was a short read nothing felt rushed or crammed in.

I am seriously beginning to love this author and have already added her to my one click list! These do not need to be read in order to enjoy the stories. I highly recommend picking this book up, you won’t be sorry!

Scorching Hit Mess by Brooke May is an entertaining rom com you don’t want to miss. This wasn’t the first book I’ve read by this author but definitely tops my list of favorites from her.

Willow just wants what her brother and her best friend have but in order to have that, she has to get through some duds first. This is the story about how Willow found her match.

This book was so entertaining to read. Willow has quite the disastrous dating life but Brenda won’t let her give up. The characters are so relatable as is Willow’s dating experience. I couldn’t put this book down once I started. I wanted to tell that everything Willow was looking for was right in front of her but honestly her journey was worth the read!

This is a Romantic Comedy novel and is 435 pages. This story follows Willow, the hot mess. One night she gets drunk and ends up with four different phone numbers and not a very good memory of what happened that night. Willow’s friend convinces her to dump her lazy boyfriend and go on the search for her “forever”. Willow has a history of wrong guys, until she meets Gun. Instant sparks, but then she learns about Sophie. This story has the perfect amount of romance, comedy, and drama. I think my favorite was the pet blind raccoon – hilarious!

I really enjoyed this romance. I loved the lead character Willow. She is a independent young woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t want. Her attitude comes through the book and I love how funny she is.

Willows love life has been one disaster after another. After a night out when she gets very drunk she ends up with the details for 4 guys. Is one of them her Prince Charming?

One bad date leads to another and Willow starts to lose hope. But she meets Gun at the fire station and the attraction to him is so strong. Who is Gun? Is he taken or single?

With the help and advice from her best friend and brother this is a rollercoaster of laughter and tears as Willow finds her way through life.
