5 Stars

This was a fun quick read and keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next. It’s the first in a new series by Phoebe Alexander and I already can’t wait to read the rest of them, especially if it continues on with the different characters that are in this one. While I normally prefer a longer book with more meat to the story this one had everything needed to feel the connection that formed and also with the inner dialogue for each of the main characters I was able to understand each of them. I laughed out loud more than once while reading and really hope Ace and Ella show up in the next story as well so we can see how they are doing.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander. I loved this novella. I love anything Phoebe Alexander writes so it was no surprise. The only thing is was too short for me! Its the story of Ace Bennett who is a comedian and his career is just starting to take off. When he goes to the bank one day he meets a cute teller named Ella Craig. He is smitten. Ella is very wary of Ace because she thinks he might be a player so she tells him no to going for a drink. When he makes a bet with her that she will laugh at his comedy show and if she laughs she has to have a drink with him. When Ella’s friends get involved and tell her he is trouble the whole things starts to fall apart. Can Ace prove to Ella he won’t hurt her? Read A Hole to find out!

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1)A Hole by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I definitely enjoyed reading Phoebe Alexander’s A Hole. This read was so cute, funny and swoon worthy. A Hole
Is about a comedian named Ace Bennett who has a crush on Ella Craig who is bank teller for a bank which happens to be on the same building as his apartment. He makes excuses to go into the bank and Ella knows it. Finally one day Ace gets up the nerve to ask her out but she turns him down. He then asks her to come to his comedy show and there is a bet made. Ella goes to the comedy show with an opinion about Ace she had gotten from her friends. She has a plan in place. She just wants to find out if he’s as good of a kisser and she is told. Sometimes you can’t believe everything you hear. Sometimes things don’t happen the way you think they do. What will happen with Ace and Ella. Is he really the A Hole she was warned he is?
Such a great story. Great main characters and of course the supporting characters were awesome too. I hope there are more reads coming with the rest of the characters

This book is part of a new series from this author. And I enjoyed this quick read! It has all you need, an “alpha” guy who has a sense of humor, the girl they try to win over and all the things that make a Rom-com what it is.
I will be devouring this series I’m sure of it.

5 stars!

Short and sexy. If you are looking for a quick romantic pick me up, this is the one. Ace and Ella are the cutest! I love the way he went after her and stopped at nothing until he had a chance. Ella is very hesitant but I love that she takes a chance on love and with Ace. With a whole bunch of misunderstandings and miscommunication my frustration level with them was at a high. They are perfect together, and when the book ended I wanted more, more of Ace and Ella and more of Ace’s friend group. As always from this author, perfect.

Love at First Haunt (Haunted Ever After Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Juls Dick

Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After Book 1)Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love at First Haunt is the first book in the Haunted Ever After series by Carrie Pulkinen. As a fan of the author I was looking forward to starting this series. The story follows Allison, a psychic and ex ghost hunter who is now terrified to return to her previous role due to a teeny mental breakdown and Logan, who was recently crowned Detroit’s most eligible bachelor, and due to his own internal battle is very happy with that title. Logan is not looking for a girlfriend and is happy keeping himself to himself in his new (albeit haunted) house until he meets Allison and is stuck by their instant connection, although his resident ghost does not seem pleased with this. This was a really enjoyable story, I loved the idea of two gifted people finding each other and helping to fight each others metaphorical demons. I am really looking forward to diving in to the second book in the series.

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier was a funny and cute listen! I love Bonnie, she is really funny and relatable. I was hooked from the start, I did not know what to expect but the dialogue was golden. I loved the pace and how even it was a short book it still felt fully developed. I cannot wait to read more by J.D Frettier.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars.

This is the start of yet another wonderful series by this awesome author. Allison and Logan are great main characters — flawed but real with pasts they are trying to overcome. I love how this story is set around a medium, a real one who just wants to use her gifts to help people. She is so wonderful, I want her as my best friend. Logan meanwhile seems to have it all, but looks can be deceiving.

Unlike other books by this author, the whole story really revolves around these two people, but it is not all about their interest in each other. It shows how they each struggle with their past and how that is affecting them today. Plus, as the title suggests, there are of course ghosts trying to make themselves known. This makes things interesting in multiple ways.

This is a fun, interesting paranornormal romance book filled with an intriguing story and wonderful characters. I cannot wait to meet some of the secondary characters in future books. I highly recommend this book.

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing (The Green Room Chronicles, Book Two) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier – Review by Heather Lovelace

Four stars

Frettier writes such a fun story and I loved continuing this series in print and in audio. The narrator does a fantastic job conveying Linda’s emotion and diving into each scenario. Not meant for listening around innocent ears. But what a hilariously fun read and listen. Many laugh worthy moments!

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier – Review by Liz Vrchota

I know what you are thinking this book is about… that cover and title really draws your attention right away. I had never read/listened to anything from JD Frettier before so I had no idea what to expect. JD Frettier, you are a clever mind! I adored this fast ride to the afterlife. At just under fifty pages we get a big story in a small package that makes you feel the gambit of emotions.

In Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine you have the story of Bonnie McMillan. In the summer of 1969 bonne and her husband met at the infamous Woodstock. A life of hippie style love and sex, is what they have lived for a wonderful forty-seven years. All of that is changed and ripped away in one night of raunchy fun together. Bonnie finds herself in what they call ‘the green room’. She embarks on a mission to reinvent herself and find a way back to ‘sixty-nine’. What a journey it is too! I can’t wait to see what will come next in the second book in the series.

This is the third book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the previous two. If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, I highly suggest you do. This is a paranormal romance that was fun and entertaining to read. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. This is a story about Gage and Erica. Gage is an investigator that has problems with dating. What will happen when his high school best friend comes back into his life? Will he get a second chance at telling her how he really feels or will the spirits stop him? I truly enjoyed this book and what the characters bring to the story. They were easily connectable and just fun. I highly recommend this book.

Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After Book 1) was a story about romance and the unknown. There is so much romance and drama that is ready to be unfolded. The paranormal is a nice bonus in this love story. Ghost, psychic, empath even rich caring guy this story has it all and so much more.

A ghost haunted Logan Mitchell who happened to be an empath driving him closer to the woman. Allison Gray who was a psychic afraid of ghosts that can give him all the love he never knew he needed. This pair is odder than they seem. Are they just what they need? They are both afraid of their feelings and what it will mean for their future. Are they destined to drive each other away?

This is the first book in the series and loved every single page of it. Can’t wait to read more. I’m getting ready to read book two as soon as I can

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing is the second book in The Green Room Chronicles  by JD Frettier. This series cracks me up. The short stories are fun to listen to and they make me hope there is a Green Room after death. This book can be listened to as a standalone but you really don’t want to miss the first book because they are both five stars for me. This story had me laughing out loud and I love when books do that.

Hollie Jackson did a great job narrating this book. Her voice and inflection is easy to listen to . She really brings the characters to life.

The things that happened to Linda really did make me laugh, there were definitely some things that I was not expecting either. Great to see Dee and Bonnie again too!
The things that go on in that Green Room as so funny and the author has created some amazing characters that I loved listening about. I love the uniqueness of the storylines and find that I am fully invested in the story the whole way through.

J D Frettier has one extraordinary imagination. Desperately seeking sixty-nine is one hour and 15 minutes of HILARIOUSLY thought out content of WHAT COULD BE……

Have you ever wondered what Limbo (purgatory) will be like? Well in this extremely funny book you’ll take a trip with the eccentric Bonnie McMillan to find just that out!!! You won’t regret it!!!

Only reason for the 4 stars is that I wish it could have been longer.

Love at First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance (Haunted Ever After Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen is a rom com, contemporary romance, and thriller. It is the first book in a new series from Carrie and this genre is something that she does oh so well. Carrie is always on my TBR list and when I see one of her books it’s a must get. In true Carrie fashion the characters are well developed and quirky and did I mention lovable and make her stories what they are. The story is nonsensical funny that had me laughing loudly and hubby wondering why I was. I was captivated and read it in one sitting.

I look forward to the next ghostly feel good tale from Carrie.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in the Green Room Chronicles by J.D. Frettier. This is the first book I have listened to by this author, and I have to say it is the most unique book I have every read. This rom-com is full of steamy situations and hilarious recollections. We meet Bonnie McMillan as she is passing into the afterlife. Her best friend, Dee, who passed away years earlier is there to help her with the transition to life in “The Green Room”. This short story had me hooked from the very first page. The witty dialog and funny but sensitive topics discussed had me thinking, I hope it is truly like this after I pass. I can’t wait to listen to the next story in this series, I hope it continues in the truly entertaining vein.

This is the first book I have listened to narrated by Hollie Jackson. I loved it she really brought the characters to life. Her voice was smooth and easy to listen to.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love At First Haunt: A Ghostly Paranormal Romance is the first book in the Haunted Ever After Series by Carrie Pulkinen.

This is not my first book by this author, I am already a huge fan of the New Orleans Nocturnes series, so I was very happy to see a new book.
Book one really starts off with a bang when our main character Allison encounters a ghost at a party. Allison may be a medium, but she does her best to stay away from ghosts.
Logan has just bought a new house, he soon realises he’s not alone and that the ghost he is sharing the house with is not going anywhere.
One of the things that I enjoyed most about this book is that it is a very modern-day twist on a paranormal romance. The characters are very relatable, their imperfections make them much more believable. I also love that the other characters play important roles and that we get to know them well too.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for something a bit different from the usual romance.

Daddy's Girl (Freshwater Book 3)Daddy’s Girl by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

‘Daddy’s Girl’ is an enjoyable and entertaining contemporary romance set in beachside Sydney. This is a lighthearted, fun romantic comedy with wonderful characters and I felt totally immersed in the storyline. Em Georgiou is not ready to settle down as she has her PhD to finish and a career to start. Joel Scott is completely focused on his architecture business to worry about relationships. Joel does not have high hopes when a client suggests he ‘gets to know’ his daughter, as he’s expecting a spoiled daddy’s girl. However as soon as Joel meets Em he is determined to convince her that he’s not just seeing her to impress her father. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it as it has some really funny, laugh out loud moments and then some more emotional moments. Although book three in a series it can be read as a standalone story, however I have also enjoyed the previous two books in the ‘Freshwater’ series. An easy and engaging read which I recommend if your looking for some escapism with a good book.
