This story was so good and a heart breaker at the same time. They both had gone through some of life’s tough challenges and had come out a little rough on the other side and then more crap was coming but he decided to be on her side. I found myself tearing up several times, smiling and rooting for them several times. An emotional story that will suck you in and you want to know how it turns out. The characters are relatable and the plot just won’t let you go. It’s a story that could happen anywhere around us. I would definitely recommend it. I want to read more from this author. Loved this book.

This is the third book in this series which is just as awesome as the previous two books. I highly suggest reading the previous two books to help your enhancement of this series. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well written and her attention to details just makes her stories pop. This book is no different. I was pulled into the story by the characters from the beginning. They are connectable and keep the story engaging. This is a faster paced story that is full of action and romance. Stefano has a destiny of being kind. He is biding his time just waiting for that to happen, not only is he waiting for that but also for the woman he loves to be by his side. Emiliana fell in love with the one man who is off limits to her. As their relationship grows so do the enemies. How far will he go to keep her safe and at his side? I loved their growth and chemistry throughout the story. They truly made the story fun and entertaining to read. I also loved the growth of the plot that kept me wanting to know more. This is a must read and I highly recommend it.

FIVE STARS Lazarus is the man to end his father. After many many years of destruction, deceit, lies and so many other things. But keeping Sasha away and keeping her out of his mind and heart are proving to be impossible. This book is full of suspense and tension. It is a fabulous read. I have never read any of the other books in the series and while yes I could tell there was a back story with Lazarus and Sasha, it did not keep me from knowing and understanding what was taking place in this final book of this series. The author really keeps you guessing and trying to help them figure out where the old man is. A real page turner. KLH

If you love a good mystery that keeps you turning the page, this one is it. A romance that bloomed out of an investigation and murder case kept it interesting. I loved the complexity of Lexi. Just when you think you have her pinned down personality-wise, she surprises you with something she says or does. Xavier Knight has been sent to investigate Lexi, and he isn’t ready for the situation. The author did a great job with building the relationship which comes across as very realistic. Just wow!

This was an amazingly written story. This is a story of a woman on a mission and the back story of her dead husband, the guilt that fuels her. There is mystery to the mystery and will she survive it. Slow and tempting to just keep reading, and I was surprised at the ending. How far would you go, what would you risk to catch a child killer? To this female lead it can equal her life. A gripping story to prove yourself and clear your conscience this was an amazing story. Character development was spot on. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. This book has everything you could possibly want including fantastic main characters in detective Alexandra Danvers and Detectice Xavier Knight, an intriguing plot, and great story building. Even though Alexandra is a window, she is resilient, protective, competent, professional, and protective. Enter Xavier Knight who is also very professional, and protective, but he’s undercover, reserved and very much a loner. The attraction between these two jumps off the pages, and makes the book so good you can’t put it down. The author did such a great job making this story feel so real that you really empathize with the characters, and you want justice for the victims. So if your looking for your next read pick this one up today.

The last book in the series and it was spectacular! I could not put it down, and when it ended I was sooo disappointed that this was the last one. I fell in love with every brother in this series, but Lazarus King stole my heart! Lazarus is the oldest brother, and he was determined to end things with his father once and for all. With his brothers settled he vowed to protect them, and to keep this battle out of their reach. When Dr. Sasha Landry lands in his sights again she becomes his ally, and also the women he loves. With an even more fierce determination he now must protect his brothers and the women he loves, and he is ready to do what needs to be done at any cost. Prepare for steam, suspense, action, and a love like no other.

Definitely don’t judge this book by its cover! On first look, I assumed this book would be a romance novel disguised as a mystery but boy was I wrong! Detective Alexandra Danvers is a strong female lead with a rough past who is on the hunt for justice, no matter the cost. She and her new partner, Xavier Knight, work together to get a child killer off the streets for good but there are many obstacles they must go through to do this. There are so many twists and turns in this novel, it was hard for me to put it down! I sincerely hope there is more to come from this author and Detective Danvers.

I started this book tentatively as it was a.new author to me and I didn’t know if I was that taken by the description of the book. But I wanted to give it a go. And i am so glad I did! This is sucn an interesting story. So much seems to happen in it that I found myself racing through the pages. I was intrigued as to how this story would play out eventually and enjoyed being taken on the journey. I thought the characters fit the book really well. I was impressed with the writing style too. The author knew exactly how to develop it and really kept my interest throughout. This is abgrsat Book and I can’t wait to discover more of this authors work.

What a way to round out such an incredible series. This book has definitely got to be the best out of them all and for me it took this series to a whole new level. It was such an engaging book. Lazarus is an enigmatic character and i was enthralled by him. The whole of this book was so exciting to read. Even though I didn’t want the story to end I just could not stop reading. This is an autnor that I always pick up without hesitation and this book showcases why. Another fantastic story and I am already looking forward to rereading the whole series.

This book is unlike any I have ever read, and I loved it for that reason but also many more. This storyline was so interesting and fully intriguing.
I really appreciated how this author had me hooked from the very first chapter, the premise of the story was so intriguing and I love how the author managed to continue to create intrigue the whole way through. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering how everything was going to play out.
This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last, I look forward to reading more of this series as it continues and I will absolutely be going back to read her other series.

I loved this book, the story was compelling and kept you interested in more than one way! I was very curious to what would happen next, as well as how things unfolded, how things would lead to the next event in the plot. The author did an amazing job with these characters and the story line! Loved it!
For me my biggest thing I really loved how it came together was the growth of the characters. Not just as an individual, but as a group as well. To back that thought up, watching Lexi and Xavier grow as characters was amazing. Lexi I personally did not think too highly of her from my first impression, I will admit though that changed as I read through. Xavier I did instantly feel drawn to at the first glance. When these two were together working together, despite their differences, they grew as people within in each other as well! The author for sure had a strong ability to do that, it was very well done and realistic!
The story itself kept me very much interested. The dup was a nice addition to the plot as well. There was a lot of suspense for me regarding this book, which I loved! I found this book not all that predictable, even at moments where I thought I could guess the next event, I was mainly wrong haha. I loved how the author has written a smooth read which was defiantly a triumph of a story! Amazing read!
Wonderful read and very much well done writing. The author did a great job on this wonderful story and book they have created. I enjoyed the read as well as the adventure I got to partake on. I wish there was a continuation to this novel, as I did not want it to end. Highly recommend this enjoyable read!

This is the last book in the series and I’m so sad about that. These books have all been amazing and gripping stories and this one was no different. In this story we follow the final brother Lazarus King.
Lazarus is the oldest brother and he is the main person still out to get his father. With his brothers now settled with partners his focus is solely on protecting them and their loves and making sure the man who is a threat to them is stopped. However he plans to do this alone. He doesn’t want his brothers involved and at risk and likewise he doesn’t want to risk any one else.
What he didn’t plan on was the love of his life being the fiesty doctor Sasha. Sasha is strong willed and just as determined to protect the man she loves as much as he wants to protect her.
Can they work together to stop the main causing them danger? Will Lazarus let his brothers and Sasha in even though its dangerous? Or will Sasha rebel against Lazarus’s protection and potentially put them all in danger?

I’ve got to say, from the first few pages of this book I did not think that I was going to like Lexi, I found her character too harsh and brash and a little bit off-putting, she jumped off the page a bit like a punch to the face. But as the story went on I guess I softened towards her, and as I learnt all the things she had been through, her feisty and blunt behaviour made sense. I say all this because, honestly, good or bad reaction to a character, if a writer can really make me feel like they are real, then hats off to them and Flade’s characters felt real. Flawed and frustrating, annoying and harsh to each other but also resilient in the face of all the crap that gets thrown at them.
Lexi and Xavier (Did make with think of Professor X hehe) must work together to solve the murder of a boy but both of them are playing secret cards pretty close to their chests, especially Xavier whose real purpose for sticking so close to Lexi is making sure that she is doing her job properly. In spite of all the secrets and suspicions the pair find themselves developing feelings for each other, which means that things get pretty tangled and messy quickly.
Thoroughly enjoyed this read. Flade is pretty darn awesome at this whole penmanship malarky. Right from the first sentence, I was gripped by her characters and by the world she has created. A fabulous mystery and romance for you to sink your teeth into.

Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade. This a new-to-me author, so I was excited to dive into her story and see what she could do. Being a romantic suspense, this book promised all the ingredients that I look for in an enticing read. The story is a well woven with a tight and intriguing plot. There’s a crime and investigation element, with mystery, drama, danger, chemistry, and plenty of sizzle. Lexi is a homicide detective with the reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon. She is a woman on a mission as she pursues a child killer and is determined to take him down. Xavier is on an undercover assignment to investigate whether Lexi is fit for duty. He is placed as her partner and things get interesting very quickly- what ensues makes for a very engrossing read. This may have been my first read by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last! Happy reading!

Intriguing mystery This is a first from this author for me and it did not disappoint. I was hooked in from the first page and kept riveted as the story unfolded. This is a suspenseful thriller mystery with romantic tension thrown in. Lexi and Xavier are well developed characters that I just could not help loving. They are raw and real and I just felt such a connection to them. The mystery was brilliantly executed too with just the right balance of suspense and action. Highly recommend.

This is the 6th, and I assume final, book in the series. As there are 6 ‘Bastard’ brothers and this is the 6th book, added to the storyline in this book, I’m assuming that this series has now come to an end. I will certainly miss this series as each and every book, including this 6th one, have been amazing. I have been a fan of this author for a few years now and I’ve loved every single book of hers that I have read. At last we get the story of the last brother Lazarus. I’ve been waiting for his story for a long time and it certainly did not disappoint. I really loved reading Lazarus and Sasha’s story. Having met Sasha previously when Lazarus was severely injured and she was his nurse, I just knew that their story would be a damn good one. This author has an amazing skill of writing amazing romantic suspense novels. I love that we get so much more than just a romance story. The back story to this book, as well as the others in the series, of the brother’s vendetta against their father has had me gripped throughout the series and I was desperate to know how this would conclude. I absolutely loved this book, and the whole series and I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us, the readers, next.

There is nothing I like better than a little romance, a little intrigue, a little heartbreak and a lot of heat. This story had all that and more. A masterful and mysterious web was woven and the details were very descriptive, while leaving the characters well developed. The leading lady was a feisty detective with a lot of weight on her shoulders. The leading man is the ultimate match and has a toe the line, professional manner. A myriad of emotions rolled along throughout the book and the senses were heightened by the passion, intense attraction, guilt, and a deep sense of duty and finding justice. An accomplished yet nerve racking romantic suspense that ticks all the boxes. 4 stars.

King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells. I have loved this series and I am sad its over! India Kells is one of my go to authors and this book was as great as I expected it to be. This is story of Lazarus and man oh man, he’s the perfect book boyfriend! Lazarus (Oz) and his brothers have almost taken down their father and they think they have protected everyone close to them. The one missing link is Sasha. When Oz almost died, Sasha helped nurse him back to life and the one thing he didn’t expect was to grow feelings for her. Leaving her unprotected is the one thing their dad can hurt. The Chemistry between Oz and Sasha is off the charts and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. Oz will do whatever it takes to protect Sasha and I mean anything. Will Oz be able to keep Sasha safe and will they finally let their walls down to be together? Read King Bastard to find out!

So well written! Lexi is probably my favorite character and I say that because she is my idea of a heroine…..even with the odds stacked against her and pretty much everyone against her, she goes for what she wants and knows is right! So what do you do when you find a dead body on the first day with your new partner Xavier? I was pulled in from the first page and have already recommended it to friends. Solving mysteries, loss, love? Read it today.

This book had a great plot and it was a fun read. I finished it in about a day. The biggest selling feature was the character development. The characters were written in a way that was so realistic; their strength and weaknesses felt relatable

This book boasts of women power and encourages women to choose the path of their choice without any inhibitions. As I said earlier, it is a very unique book and a wonderful read.

Detective Alexandra Danvers is on a mission to find a child killer. Dealing with her husbands death, hostility to others, depression, and being ostracized by her department she has the odds against her. When she is newly partnered with Detective Xavier Knight things turn a bit romantic but are also fueled with suspense. Xavier is there to determined Lexi’s ability to effectively do her job, but he also ends up helping her with this case. As these 2 team up together they are risking life and limb to solve this case, but also finding that there is more to their relationship along the way.
This book was a great thriller. There were many twists and turns that you could not, and did not see coming in this story. There were also a lot of emotions attached to this book. Both main characters had a lot to overcome and you could feel a lot of the sadness from both ends.

This is a new to me author, but now I need all the books! I enjoyed this book as it took you into the story and the character development. This was different, but honestly a great different as it was a storyline ive not read before. Our main female character is a cop, with a new partner who we know is undercover to investigate if she is fit enough to continue her job. The way this author weaved this story is one you must read to fully get. Cant wait to read more!

Fall to Pieces ended up being much better than I expected. The description had me interested, as I enjoy crime thrillers- law and order type, if you will. The cover art had me expecting more of a romance novel. While it did have that, it wasn’t the focus of the story. We instead focus on detective Alexandra Danvers, and her internal struggle to bring a suspected child killer to justice. I really enjoyed the link this case had to her husband, as well as how Detective Xavier Knight fit in. All the characters seemed to have little connections, which made it all work. The characters are introduced slowly, so it wasn’t overwhelming to me. I was happy that Alex handled the truth rationally, and didn’t fly off the deep end, like we see many female leads do. I don’t want to reveal too much and ruin the story, so I’ll leave it at that. She is a very strong character and I hope to read more about her, whether prequel or future developments.

Definitely different, but I loved the different! Fall to Pieces is an investigation with an investigation. A murder mystery with Internal Affair’s right in the middle. Lexi, a North East Philly detective, has been assigned a new partner. Xavier has been assigned to Lexi’s precinct to investigate Lexi, what better way to do that is as her partner. First case as partners, a homicide of a child. A case that could make or break her career Lexi is determined to get justice for the family. Xavier is torn in his quest to prove that Lexi is unfit. Lexi exudes a lot of confidence and qualities he admires, but feels she can be careless. Oh and he’s also attracted to her, that never makes things easy. I loved the character development of Lexi and Xavier as individuals and working together, but the book has me posing a few questions for you. Will Lexi find out Xavier has been brought in to essentially “take her badge”? Will Lexi and Xavier act on their mutual attraction? Will justice be delivered for Tommy Welsh? Three intriguing questions that have answers just as intriguing of answers, but if I answered them for you what good is that. READ FIND OUT THOSE 3 ANSWERS AND MORE! It’s a whirlwind of a book that will DEFINITELY NOT DISAPPOINT! You are going to want more when it’s over!
