Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells

Holy Cow I loved listening to this book, the narrator did an outstanding job with bringing the characters to life. I could listen to him all day long. This author is one of my favorites and I never hesitate to pick up any books by her. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and at times I wanted the narrator to talk faster. Listening to this book took it to a whole new level for me. If you like books that are packed with suspense, mobs, gangs, drama and some Romance then I highly recommend reading/listening to this book. I can’t wait to listen to more of her books.

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Anastasia Dodson

India Kells does it again with this great audio. The story pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the very end. The Narrator was a good choice for this book, I don’t listen to male narrators very often but Antonio Turner did a great job. He has a nice voice and i lost myself in the story and his voice. The drama, suspense and romance kept me coming back and the characters made stay. I will listen to more by this author in the future and i wouldn’t mind listening to this narrator again too.
Happy Listening!

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another great read by Manda Mellett that deals with some issues that teens face today. I like that she tackles the issues bringing awareness to them. I was not crazy about the female lead in this story. I realize she acted like a lot of people probably would act, but I just didn’t relate to her. The romantic relationship wasn’t my favorite as much as the parental relationship that develops – don’t want to give too much away. One of Manda’s talents is her development of relationships in the story, and she doesn’t disappoint in this one.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I get so lost in Manda Mellet’s story telling that I read her books in one sitting. The characters are amazing and deal with real life situations. This is Grumbler’s story. Grumbler decided to pimp out his bike to a photographer that takes pics for book covers. When he doesn’t get paid what he is owed he starts to dig into the photographer. What he finds opens a whole can of worms, I was not expecting.
Mary let her daughter model, but only if Mary goes with her. There she meets Grumbler, a gruff man whom she was quite attracted to. But would their paths even cross again?
Being in my late 40’s I rooted so hard for Mary and Grumbler. We may be older, but we aren’t dead!
Be aware there are trigger warnings, rape and of sexual nature. Very gritty story that I absolutely loved.

This is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC. I really got into the book from page one. The characters jumped off the page for me. Lost having taken over as president from a backstabbing prez that tore the MC in two, finds that he is more prepared and ready to lead then he thought he was.
Patsy is moved with her son as part of a witness protection order. Due to a message from an unknown source, the MC moves into protect Patsy and her son from danger as they investigate what is going on. Can Patsy and Lost come together and find love amid all the turmoil? I love the ride that Manda Mellett takes me on, a page turner for sure!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my favorite Manda Mellett book so far, but I have a feeling she will keep surprising me. Everything, the characters, the plot, and the action sequences seemed so real. Lost, man, I loved Lost. I have dealt with that voice in my head and could totally relate. It will be a while before I forget his character’s story. I loved the way the MC was kind of dragged into the situation instead of being in it to begin with. I also loved that the hero/heroine are older. I enjoyed the fresh perspective and being reminded that growing old isn’t the end of new relationships or new experiences.

Grumbler’s Ride is the second chapter in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series, personally I enjoyed this second chapter even more then I enjoyed the first. I love that Ms. Mellett is writing more mature characters. The fact that she writes more mature characters gives the story a different take then if her characters where in their mid thirties. While this series has some scenes that could trigger some people it is still well worth the read. Ms. Mellett is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors she always seems to tackle sensitive subjects and handles them with immense care. The care she provides in her writing makes her books flow well and her series come together beautifully.

I have read a few of Manda Mellett’s series but I have to say that the San Diego chapters are some of the best by far. Being Lost was such a good start, I couldn’t put it down. It was such any easy read for me kind of like pulling out my favorite jean jacket in the fall, or watching a rain storm in the fall, it was calming and relaxing with just the right amount of edge. As usual Ms. Mellett’s characters are wonderful, her scenery descriptive, and her story line intriguing. So if your looking for a great series to read I highly recommend Ms. Mellett’s San Diego chapters.

Ah yes, Grumbler, so set in his ways. I loved his character in this book, even if he is a little rough around the edges. We meet Grumbler when he meets a photographer whom wants to take pictures of his bike, and a monetary deal is made. Needless to say, that photographer is not what he seems to be, conning Grumbler of what is due. Mary and Alicia come into the picture and my heart! Mary lost her husband and trying to raise a 17 year old daughter on her own. Alicia is in a situation and Mary tries to be there for her daughter, something is not right and Mary senses it. Grumbler is there for both Mary and Alicia. Some twists and turns in this book (don’t want to give away to much), but at the end there is love between Grumbler and Mary. I love them together.

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Kerry Baker

Lost Bastard Audio Book by India Kells is a Dark Sparrow Novel. This is one of those books that has a bit of everything – action, romance, bad boys and so much more. The story kick straight off with a bang and barely gives you time to catch your breath.

I was drawn to each of the characters for such different reasons and they really make the book interesting.

For me however what really tops this audio book into fantastic is the narrator. He absolutely nails all the different accents and personalities. I could clearly tell each of them apart and really got a feel for them all. I couldn’t stop listening to him narrate the book.

This is fantastic book by a brilliant author and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is an author I have enjoyed from the first book of hers I picked up.  I was excited to pick up this audible.  I enjoyed the narrator’s voice and how they gave life to the characters.  With the changing of voice tones, it made the story fun to listen to.  This is a story of drama, suspense, mob and gangs, what more could you ask for in a story.  The twists and turns had me wanting to know what would happen next.  This was an entertaining story that I found to be engaging and the characters were easy to fall in love with.  I loved this audible and highly recommend it.

Lost Bastard

A Dark Sparrow Novel

AUDIO BOOK

India Kells

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

This is a full length novel. Set around MC’s, gangs, romance and family drama. The suspense will be your biggest reward. Not for those under 18 due to violence and adult themes.

Deva Landry has escaped her princess life, and her MC family as well. She has escaped an unwanted marriage, and now there is a price on her head. She must keep her head about her and keep low. Trouble comes when she is asked to take care of Aleksei, an underground fighter. That is where she could be in danger. Can she protect Aleksei as well as herself in this story? Will she survive the fight of her life?

India Kells you have done it again! Well wrote and loaded with twists and turns. Just when I felt it was safe to set the book down, you drop in chaos. So therefore I stayed up all night, with this page turner. I love the characters and admire the strength Deva holds. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series. Well Done India Kells! Well Done!!

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashley Dover

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Manda Mellet has written a world-class novel! The characters, the plot, and the mystery makes this a must-read MC romance novel.

Grumbler is the Sergeant-At-Arms for the Satan’s Devils Motorcycle Club in San Diego. He’s been with the MC for almost 30 years. Never in his thirty years has he ever thought about taking an old lady (or a wife in citizens’ terms). The love of his life and what he cares for the most is his motorcycle. He spends his extra cash on tricking out his motorcycle.

Mary Styles is a widower and a single mom of a seventeen-year-old daughter, Alicia. Mary’s life revolves around her work, trying to keep her daughter safe, and dealing with her daughter’s ever-present teenage attitude.

A chance encounter during a photoshoot involving Grumbler’s motorcycle and Alicia, Mary’s daughter, brings Grumbler and Mary together on a path to save Alicia’s future. What obstacles will the two have to face to keep Alicia’s future intact?

Awakening (The Journals Trilogy Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. Earl – Review by Kerry Baker

Awakening Audio Book by D.M. Earl is the third book in the Journals Trilogy. After listening to the first two books I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one to find out how it was all going to end! I just had to know to outcome and see if there could be a happy ending for Stone and Quinn.

I was a little bit disappointed with the story. It felt like at times that the author had resorted to adding things in for the shock factor. I don’t think this was needed at all as the story was strong enough without it.

These bits aside I did still enjoy the story. I was instantly invested in the characters again, and not just the main ones. It feels like we have got to know all the peripheral characters so well by this point that I wanted to know about them too.

This was a good end to the trilogy and it was great to get the closure on it.

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read Grumbler’s Ride as a stand-alone, and was not disappointed. This is my first novel from this author, so I was a little hesitant. Since this is the second in the series, it took some time to read past the background story, but not so much to put the book down. Many romance stories involve 20-something or even 30-something aged characters, so I was a little surprised to read that Grumbler is nearing 60! However, the silver fox on the cover truly depicts the sexiness of this character. I think the author did a great job of portraying the mindset, maturity, and “experience” of a man Grumbler’s age. Reading about the challenges and blossoming relationship of Grumbler and Mary was a fun ride that neither of them saw coming, including me! Great read!

Book Review: Being Lost
Author: Manda Mellett
FIVE STARS
From beginning to end of this book I was enamoured with Lost. His demons that haunt his every thought, his desire to not screw up anything. His desire to please and protect those around him. His story from the beginning was so fantastic.
Patsy is a mom first and foremost and her kids are he reason for being, I identify with Patsy so much. I cannot imagine having to not only CHOOSE which child I am going to stay with and not be able to contact the other EVER again. That is just torture of great proportions.
The way that Lost handles and leads the men of the Satan’s Devils MC is just admirable. That he is so worried about failure and disappointment that he takes the time to think things through before they go off on a mission. It was awesome seeing how well he lead them into their missions.
I loved this book and I am looking forward to learning more about the Satan’s Devils.

This was such a good book. I love Mary and Grumbler’s just interaction with each other. It’s refreshing to read non insta love books. Where the friendship builds into something more. As a mom with the most dramatic 3 year old daughter ;I’m terrified of her teenage years. I feel for Mary doing it on her own and trying to make the best decisions she can. It’s wonderful seeing lost and patsy throughout the story also! This book will seriously have you on your toes. It definitely has topics that touch the real world and will have you gasping at times. I cried more than once throughout the book. I could not recommend this more!!

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Bridget McCullough

This book is packed full of such amazing writing. I was thoroughly impressed with this first book in the series. It managed to balance introducing quite a few side characters and giving them depth and backstory while not overwhelming the reader with too much to keep track of. The main characters in particular are written with so much intricacy that you immediately feel connected to them and invested in their story.

Deva, our main heroine has been hiding from a past that she is terrified of returning to but an obligation to pay off a debt pushes her to confront her past and in doing so she meets Aleksei, a fighter with an story of his own full of twists and turns. He has a sexy alpha personality but is there more to his story than meets the eye? And will Deva let herself fall for someone who reminds her so much of the past she left behind?

Honestly. I don’t even know what to say in my reviews sometimes. I really enjoyed this book. I’ve been on a biker kick lately and Manda Mellett delivered another great book! Grumbler has been my favorite biker so far! Being inside his head is funny and this book isn’t short on laughs (although it does have its serious side). Mary is fun to read- a character i can relate to as a mother (even though my kid is younger than Alicia!) This story is another winner in my book!

Awakening (The Journals Trilogy Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. Earl – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is my third audible in this series which I loved listening to.  I highly suggest listening to this series in order to help your enhancement of this series.  The narrator brought the story to life by using different tones of voices and made me want to listen to more.  This is a story about dark pasts and a determination to survive.  A story of healing and learning to trust again.  The characters take suspense to a new level and a conclusion to an awesome story.  I won’t say too much about the plot as I think you need to listen to this series as it is that awesome.  I am very glad I picked up this audible and I was so excited to listen to it.  I highly recommend this audible.

Forged by Secrets is the third installment to Amy McKinleys Deadly Isles Special Ops series and all this reader can say is that it’s just as amazing as the first two. Having read the first books in this series I was thrilled when book three came out and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Once again Ms. McKinley provides us with great characters, a gripping plot, and overall a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Personally I love second chance love stories and that’s exactly what Ms. McKinley gives her readers here a second chance love story filled with drama, suspense, and so much more that this reader can’t wait to see what happens next.

I have read books 1 and 2 in this series as well, but this one was my favorite. I am a big fan of Ty. I knew I would be when I read first two books. His intuition – loved that characteristic. I also didn’t see a few things coming. I really liked Malina’s backstory which felt fresh and different from any book I’ve ever read- just a different take on civil unrest. I also liked that the conflict she experienced in her country influenced decisions even years later – felt like a realistic reaction. I was into the plotline that began in book one and continued in this book. I was definitely invested in the outcome. The takeaway from this story for me was how grief is different for everyone. Grief can be messy. Grief can be silent. It depends on the individual. I think the author does a great job of portraying that emotion in this story.

Can I just say I LOVE Author Amy McKinley’s Deadly Isles series!!! I am just so invested. This is book 3 of this series and does not disappoint. This is the story of Malina and Ty. Malina was sent to the States by her parents to live and be safe with her aunt and uncle, and just in the nick of time… Ty and Malina hook up in Vegas for some fun, but deep down Ty knew Malina was this one for him. Years later Malina is being accused of treason….and she flees to Ty’s house to be safe and to find out whom is framing her for treason. Ty is there to help find out whom framed Malina. I just love this whole story, Ty and Malina’s love for each other and did not want this book to end. There were a few twists I did not see coming! I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning as you also get to know Ty’s brothers, Jaxon and Xander as well. This is truly a fantastic series!!!

Tyler a hot, sexy Navy SEAL, has always wanted Malina. Malina, analyst for the SEALS, is struggling to overcome a past that haunts her every day. Knowing that Tyler is nothing but temptation, Malina avoids him like the plague. Until the day she is accused of treason and has nowhere else to turn–except to Tyler. When Tyler returns from his latest mission and learns Malina is not only in trouble but is missing, he will stop at nothing to save the woman he loves.

The third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series, Forged by Secrets is just as exciting and fun as the first two. Malina and Tyler are great characters, right in line with Tyler’s brothers from the earlier novels. Amy McKinley knows how to write a heart pounding(in more ways than one!) novel. This series has been one of my favorites I have read in a while, and I look forward to reading more of Amy’s books in the future!

Wow! Melina and Tyler has to be my favorite story of the trilogy. Sad story as it is, Melina gets sent to the US from Venezuela by her parents because her friends were caught speaking out trying to help others (very realistic). Tragedy follows Melina which makes it hard for her to trust. Tyler, class clown, has been attracted to her since high school but they have often fought. Tyler is a SEAL dealing with his own issues. What happens in Vegas comes home from Vegas, even if you don’t remember it. Tyler and Melina have lots to work out. Just like the rest of us, they deal with their issues the best they can. I find myself telling the characters what do like I’m right there with them. These characters feel like friends. The plot feels ripped from current headlines. I love the location descriptions of headlines. I want to visit the islands.

I’ve picked up this book and realized it was the third in this series. That was ok though because reading so many of this author’s books I knew I didn’t have to worry. She made this really easy for me to jump into and also made it impossible for me to not read the first two.

In normal Amy McKinley fashion I could not put this book down. I literally read it in two sittings with only about an hour break between the two. The suspense and edge of your seat reading made it impossible to put down. I loved these characters and can’t wait to get the other characters’ stories. There was just enough of everything, Romance, danger, suspense, mystery, and even a touch of humor which I loved!

I will read anything this author comes out with. She has the ability to grab me at word one and I feel like I always must finish once I start.

I hope there is more to come for this series, and if so I’ll be ready after hopefully reading the first two by then.

Love It!!

Riley is a barista who has gone through a rough life. She is being stalked by a mystery person who is making people think she is crazy. Enter Xander, a hot SEAL, dealing with his own troubles. The chemistry abounds with these two. They form a friendship. Will the sparks flow as they work through the issues at hand? A copycat killer from a thriller? A romance gone crazy? This book was fabulous. I had to remind myself to breathe. The author again scores a home run with characters that feel so real. Their personalities remind me of some of the “friends” in my life. I felt every emotion Riley went through. Her rough life felt a little close to home which is why I think I felt it so hard. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? Do it!
