No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Beverly Finnie

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Max left for dead is out for blood in Amy McKinley’s No Way Out. Planning to use Lilianna as his pawn to complete his plans. This Chicago mafia romance is exciting and unexpected. Well written in it’s own right, it tells the story of Max’s rise to take his place as the boss of the Chicago Caruso family and the means of which were granted by the original families in Sicily.
Though a work of fiction it’s very real in the sense of the ideal workings of some mafia/cartels today. It’s about power and growing that power that unfortunately leads to loveless marriages. You can learn a lot just from this fictional overview Amy McKinley created in No Way Out. You can’t ever just leave, you will always be a liability to turn if you do so.
In saying that, I loved the dynamic between Lilianna & Max, though unexpectedly they loved fiercely and worked well together as a unit. Told through both points of view you don’t miss a bit of the action, keeping one of the edge of their seat to what will happen next. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Mafia Elite series!
