Full of great characters, an original and terrific plot I just simply couldn’t put it down. Filled with magic, secrets, mages and more trust me when I say that you want to run and pick this one up today. This was a new author for me but trust me when I say I’ll be looking for more from her.

Scarlet Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Opal Nelson

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An enthralling story! I could not put this novel down; this story grabbed my attention at the get-go. I devoured this book. I started reading at 1:30 am and could not find the will to stop reading until the last chapter. Went to be at 4:30 am for an 8 am shift; at this point, who needs sleep?

I am always a fan of a heroine who won’t be bullied; Rowan is no exception. She is vocal, brave, resilient, witty and a lover of good vodka. I love the interaction between Rowan and Theo- it is fun, flirty, and downright humorous. That darn cliffhanger has me waiting with bated breath for Book Two. Scarlet Princess is original, entertaining, refreshing, unpredictable, definitely, a must-read.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Moriah Venable

Decisions and Possibilities (Notebook Mysteries #2)Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Decisions and Possibilities is the second novel in the Notebook Mystery series by Kimberly Mullins.

In Chicago 1883, teen Emma Evans is more involved in case and her business than ever before. She gains recognition and a new member in her team.

But the case she is working on is far more dangerous than previous especially when she assaulted and threatened.

And her personal life is just as complex as her professional with her trying to define her feelings for two men in her life.

This was a very fun read. It reminded me alittle of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series.

I have not read the first novel in this series and I look forward to reading Emma’s journey but I really hope there will be a third novel for me to read.

What would you do to save a loved one? That was vanessas thought and she really wonders what she has done to get were she is now. Vanessa is the most amazing character ever, she loves deeply, caring, a heart of gold but will do anything to help anyone and she will find a way. it was impossible to not fall in love with this book, with the characters, plot, challenges and love. The fiery passion in this book was really captivating. It was very entertaining to read and such a wonderful book all around. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series to this amazing story. This was the first book I’ve read from this author although it’s the second of the series. Felt like I was able to understand everything without reading the first book even though I will now be going back and reading it anyways. Love the story line and feel of this book, very relatable in these hard times to maybe want to run away and take a break from it all. Enjoyed the character development and chemistry between the 2 main characters. Excited with how it was ended as it leads into the possibility of a third book!

No Strings Attached: A Steamy Stand-Alone Romance by Lara Ward Cosio

Out of curiosity I decided to look at the books I had read written by this author, and I have read all but one of her books.  Trying to figure out how I missed the one I did.

I absolutely loved this story.  From the way Tanner and Kayla meet to how they end up spending more time together to the very end.

Emerson was absolutely precious and I coild not get enough of her and her cuteness and how Kayla was so determined to make sure her daughter was happy and settled even if it was to her own detriment which I got since I was once a single mom to a precious little girl.

I’m not sure if my ability to relate to Kayla made me love this story more or not, but really did fall in love.

Love’s Refrain (The Stardust Duet, Book 1) by KG Fletcher – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Love's Refrain (The Stardust Duet, #1)Love’s Refrain by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a beautifully written tale of a love story through time. Katherine is a great character, a strong woman and musician who follows the beat of her own drummer. When she suddenly falls back through time to meet Phillip, the attraction they feel is instant and consuming. But how can they be together when they live decades apart? Kat and Phillip are wonderfully drawn characters, and their story is mesmerizing. The book is easy to follow and enjoyable to read. In the first part of the book, I found there were sections that were a bit slow for me, but once I got into it, I read it straight through til the end. I will be looking out for book 2!

THE BOW (HER THREE IMMORTALS Book 3) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Allyson Ware

This has to be the spiciest read out of all three of these novels. I won’t spoil anything here because you have to find out for yourself. If you are even remotely considering this book, just do yourself a favor and read it. You do, however, have to start from the beginning with The Don.

Bow and arrows; Beau and Aroz. Why did it take me SO long to realize the connection? This novel ties together the past two books unbelievably well. Run, don’t walk, to read this one and the next. I am already so excited to find out what happens next!

Wrong for Him (The Love Lottery Series Book 3) by Christi Barth – Review by Shelly Kittell

Wrong for Him (Love Lottery, #3)Wrong for Him by Christi Barth

This is a sweetly romantic book. Amelia has had a crush on Teague her whole life. When the opportunity of a lifetime drops into their laps to run a hotel, they go for it. Along with her brother (who happens to be Teague’s best friend), they go through a series of challenges. They somehow come out on the other side together and love each other. A well-written story that just flows together and reminds a little of a slightly “dysfunctional” family with the bickering amongst themselves, etc. But there is also laughing, hijinks and fun adventures. A good read to lift some of your spirits. Highly recommend.

The Story of Elias and Mila feels like a story of love that has overcome so many odds to be. Mila grew up being bullied for being different. She preferred animals to people. Who doesn’t? Now she is back as a forest ranger….and she put herself right in harm’s way. Drake has her back on his radar. Elias has a few secrets to hide but he has been waiting for a long time to find his mate and now she is here. He throw himself into protecting Mila. These two learn during time of trouble about each other. They go through fire and hell and come out loving each other more on the other side. Mila meets the other supes and together they battle the evil that has befallen on their community. This is a tremendous book. The action sucks you in. the characters all blend together and work in such a way that it just blends naturally. The plot just goes like a river. I couldn’t put the book down.
I will be reading the rest of the series. You have to find out what happens. This is a book that leaves you, the reader, feeling like you are part of the community. You just can’t be left hanging. Great book. One of my must reads of the year! Highly recommend!

Woo boy was this a super creepy book to read. It has some really mentally disturbed characters. I really loved the setting of Mexico. Fair warning this book does have a mention of miscarriage and that kinda threw me for a loop. Overall it was a really creepy horror story that would be a good fit for the Halloween season. Be prepared to stick it in the freezer it’s that creepy.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson

5 out of 5 Stars

This was my first encounter with the Diamond Doms and I am captivated. Reconfiguring my budget to make sure I can add the other 8 books to my collection and I can spend a weekend tied up, reading. Holy hotness and fantastic characters!!!

Forever is the 9th and final book in the series. The story focuses on the ever security conscious Russell Adler and a new protectee, Gemma Livingston. Gemma’s life has just been turned inside out due a recent threat on her and her husband’s life. Gemma’s issues continue to mount when her recently deceased husband suddenly pops back up with her sister. Russell is trying to fulfill a promise to his friend by protecting his wife, Holly Barrett, and Gemma safe from the faction trying to take down Club Solitaire. Will Russell’s attraction to Gemma prevent him from keeping this promise?

I fell in nearly instantaneous love with so many of these characters. I now have to go back and figure out everything!! I want to know the backstory to Russell and Holly, a tender friendship. I want to know more about Patrick. Can’t go wrong with any book with a character named Marissa. Can’t wait to spend time getting to know this family of friends. Can I get an honorary membership?

No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Angela Packard

No Strings AttachedNo Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kayla fell in love with Rad, a rock star, which left her a single mother to her 4-year-old daughter Emmerson. Rad left to follow the “journey” of his life but pops up with no warning. Kayla has made do with a job she doesn’t love, but she has given up being frivolous to be the mother her daughter deserves.
Tanner is a construction worker who is working across from Kayla’s apartments. He is surprised one morning when turning around in the coffee shop is the beautiful woman he has seen watching his construction site from her window. Even more amused, he catches her staring at his behind.
Kayla and Tanner both have their plates overflowing even though they both feel the pull to the other. They agree to a no string attached relationship, but can they stick to it? As they get to know each other, and support each other as friends, will their feelings become too much to ignore anymore?
This was great story. I had a hard time liking Rad at first, he is pushy and only looking out for himself but finally being able to relate to his daughter made me like him a bit more. I like how relatable Lara Ward Cosio’s characters are. These are settings and circumstances that I have been in or have seen with my friends.

I truly enjoyed reading this Historical Young adult story that once I started reading there no putting it down. This is the second book in the Decisions and Possibilities series by Kimberly Mullins. I’m a huge fan of all historical genres and this definitely was worth the read. Emma recently graduated from business school and is ready to focus on doing some investigating. Things get interesting and I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure it all out. What will happen when there’s a new person added to the team? Sometimes things and people aren’t always as they seem. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Stand Your Ground by A.J. Ullman
Four Stars

Stand Your Ground is a crime thriller which involve current issues plaguing the US today. The story is fast paced and grabbed my attention from beginning to end. This is my new favorite book by A.J. Ullman. This book features Cady Fox, a lawyer claiming the ladder, who runs into trouble one night while riding her bike home. She is confronted on her way home by a black man and feels her life is in danger. She feels the need to protect herself and shoots the man. The story revolves around public outrage and an investigator who just can’t accept any more claims of white privilege. The story delves into issues that may cause people to disagree with the author’s views, but the story was well written and the characters had great depth. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Wow. This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. A true psychological horror, it had me- a self-professed lover of creep- absolutely gobsmacked.
Please be forewarned that some content may be triggering, and that this book has incredibly vivid details. The style is a bit different than many books, and may take a few chapters to get into. It is worth the investment.

We open on Gabriel as a young boy, in the cemetery, with his mother. It very quickly becomes apparent that Mother Juana is not at all what she seems. Mother is the superior in a nunnery, and when Gabriel becomes an adult, he works there as well. A man who readily extends grace to others and sees the best in people, we find him at complete odds with Juana. When orphans begin to go missing, Gabriel must face the truth about his sadistic mother and reconcile some difficult choices in himself.

A truly riveting read, lovers of horror will be glad they added this one to their list.

The Bow (Her Immortals Series) by Hazel Storm – Review by Sarah Hammel

The Bow (Her Three Immortals, #3)The Bow by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The third installment in a series inspired by the god mythologies, The Bow, follows Vanessa, Raef, Grey, and Aroz as they try and fulfill a quest given to Vanessa by the Queen of the Underworld because she hates Vanessa for “stealing” her son from her. If you are a fan of Laurell K Hamilton’s style of romances where there is a lot of hot times filled in with the plot then you are sure to enjoy this series. Vanessa must go to the “upperworld” to fetch water from a mysterious waterfall for some reason for the Queen. While there is a lot of smut, that is a definite plus in my opinion. I fully and always enjoy god-inspired smut scenes because it can be anything. I would advise reading the two before this one because there are a few moments that will be confusing if you have not previously read any of Hazel Storm’s works.

This is by far my favorite of all three stories…so far. Vanessa’s adventure is never dull. She learns many new things during this story. Things about her gods and about herself.

“Make your own light. With it, you can defeat the darkness”. This quote may just be my very next tattoo!! So much truth. So deep.

And then there’s the mouthwatering description “…his mouth is like hot butterscotch poured over salted caramel ice cream.” Ummm yummy!!

While this story ends with a happily ever after there are still some unanswered questions. And Mothers that have to be dealt with. Which leads me to believe that there will be more to this series!!

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III, is a very interesting tale with some supernatural aspects that make you think and wonder. It’s definitely not a book for those who are faint of heart and I would not suggest it for younger audiences. Mr DeBlassie does an amazing job describing the locations, the situations, and the characters so you can feel and imagine what the characters are going through. The relationship between Gabriel and his mother Juana, who happens to be the mother superior at an Orphanage, is interesting to say the least. It will make you wonder if you really read things that happened. I had to go back and read some things again just to make sure.

This was a great 5 star read, I had a LOL moment in the beginning when these two met. Let’s just say Kayla got caught checking out Tanner’s assets. She is a single mother not looking for anything serious, Tanner feels the same way, he’s too busy with work to commit to a relationship. Kayla and Tanner come up with a mutual agreement to satisfy their needs with no commitment.

There is a twist and Kayla’s ex comes to town, looking to get his family back. Will he succeed or will her feelings for Tanner go deeper than friends with benefits?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great and lovable, especially Tanner and his helping his sister while her husband was deployed. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you into the story. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today on this must read.
