THE GOD (HER THREE IMMORTALS Book 2) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Shannon Fowler

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The flirty and fun continues with Vanessa and mostly Grey. However, Grey’s ½ brothers show up throughout the story along with some other interesting characters, PK being my favorite.

While reading this story I get the feeling that Vanessa may be more that she thinks she is. There seems to be something extra about her.

As in book one, The Don, this story also has many sexy scenes with Vanessa not having to choose between her men…gods.

Hazel Storm has an easy writing style and it seems that cliffhangers are her specialty as this story also ends in a cliffhanger.

The Book of Carraig (The Cross of Ciaran Book 2) by Andrea Matthews – Review by Jamie Zabolotney

The Book of Carraig (The Cross of Ciaran #2)The Book of Carraig by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The second book in Andrea Matthews Cross of Ciaran series. I quite enjoyed this book and the progression of the story from book one. After fifteen hundred years “asleep” Ciaran is learning how to navigate this new time. Ciaran and Caitlan go to Ireland on a dig in the same place where Caitlan found Ciaran in the first place.

I have always been intrigued by archaeology and this book drew me in, topped with romance and drama and I was in seventh heaven! Matthews paints a great picture of Ireland and the surroundings. If you like paranormal romance, you won’t be disappointed.

THE DON (HER THREE IMMORTALS Book 1) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Shannon Fowler

The DonThe Don by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My first book by Hazel Storm and I am hooked! What a fun, flirty, sexy and quick reading story. Vanessa, Grey and Raef are great characters. I am definitely team Vanessa while reading this story. Most romance stories require the heroine to choose the hero, this story has two heroes and implies that Vanessa will get to choose both!

Mortals aren’t that special but those gods…wow! The side characters kept the story going and makes me hope there will be more stories coming with them included.

This story does end in a cliffhanger which is not a happy ending type cliff hanger at all. On the plus side, good for us readers, there will be more!

To Be A Fae Queen (Realm Chronicles Book 1) By Tricia Copeland – Review by Jeannie Anderson

I completely LOVED To Be A Fae Queen from page one. Princess Titania is only fifteen but a worthy successor of the crown. She’s very smart, compassionate and extremely skilled with archery. She literally cannot miss a shot no matter the distance. All of the characters are richly written, especially Titania. She faces many challenges and many hard decisions and faces each one with courage, grace and wisdom. Titania isn’t perfect and has a beautiful hero’s journey.

The world Titania lives in is beautiful but can be scary with the evil creatures plaguing their land. Amazing story by Tricia Copeland.  I cannot wait to read more about Titania.

Wow, just wow! Why We Don’t Die in Dreams: Book 1 by Debbie Zello was amazing. I couldn’t put the book down and found myself waking in the middle of the night to read. The book follows Gavin McLean and the constant nightmares of a serial killer. Debbie Zello combines crime and supernatural seamlessly. I loved the character development with each passing chapter that you instantly knew where Gavin was. She ends the book with a shock. I promise, you will not be disappointed with this book. I cannot wait to read the second book! Great job!

Tanner and Kayla set the pages on fire!!! The chemistry between Tanner and Kayla is just magical, on so many levels. I really enjoyed how this book explored the realities of being a parent and wanting to put your child’s best interests first. Watching the relationship between Tanner and Kayla develop was magical, heart wrenching, exciting and heart warming. I laughed out loud so many times because Kayla is so honest and real. You also get to read both Tanner and Kayla’s point of view throughout the book which makes it so much better. On the surface this book might appear to be a light romance but once you start reading it, you realize that there is so much more to it than that. It really tugs at the heartstrings and had me holding my breath in so many spots. I will absolutely be looking forward to reading more books from this author.

I don’t normally read contemporary books as they tend to bore me. No Strings Attached however is a refreshing breath of fresh air. I love how the story rotates between Kayla and Tanner. The story of how Kayla and Tanner met is so sweet and cute. The flirting is sexy and hot while the bedroom encounters are steamy! The character development is amazing, especially in Kayla. Kayla and Tanner are so perfect together! Lara Ward Cosio knows how to write a delicious romance.

Noémie’s Journey AUDIO BOOK by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

I loved this story of Noemi and Richard. Richard wants to protect Noemi really pulls at my heart strings. Setting of a small town, the racism that Noemi had to deal with on a daily basis… I couldn’t possibly imagine. There are so many obstacles as Richard is white, while Noemi is not…and the story taking place in the 60’s with some rocky times for social equality. This story is heartbreaking at times and beautiful.

Mother Juana does not like to be disobeyed. In fact, she insists against it. Her son, however, is not as cruel, and is torn between his mother, and his wife (which was forbidden!). The supernatural powers of Mother Juana keeps a tight grip on everyone in her path, and her son, a healer with his own abilities, has fallen in love, and only SHE (his mother) is worthy of his love! I thoroughly enjoyed the character development, and the depth and diversity of mother and son. I love finding things that keep me guessing, and this one did just that (in a good way). I have never read anything from this author before, but will definitely be picking up more of his books.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Just LOVED this book!! The story of Kayla and Tanner. This book had moments of me laughing to smiling from ear to ear to my pulse racing!! Kayla is a single mom with a 4 year old little girl. She is so focused on raising Emerson while having a career of her own. A encounter at the local coffee shop, she meets Tanner. All Tanner can offer Kayla at this point is a little fun with no strings attached. Tanner has his own career while he is helping out his sister with his twin nephews while his brother in law is deployed. Things get a bit complex with Tanner and Kayla as they have this back and forth of no strings attached fun but then feelings come into play. Tie in more complexity when Kayla’s ex and Emerson’s father comes back trying to get a second chance with Kayla and raising Emerson.

I just loved this story. Sweet moments mixed with some hot moments and a sprinkle of complex feelings all wrapped into a great book!! Loved Tanner and Kayla’s story!!

Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison was a good read. The story had a number of twists and turns which made for a suspenseful story. Weep Woman Weep, A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie, is an excellent novella. The story might be short, but there is so much jam-packed into it, but not in an overwhelming fashion. I enjoyed how DeBlassie took the story of La Llorona and created a story around it. The characters, setting, and background was full of details allowing my imagination to take over and visualize the story. I have read other books by this author but enjoyed this one the best so far. There are so many layers to the book, and I wanted to get to each one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really have fallen in love with Hazel Storm’s writing while reading her, HER THREE IMMORTALS series. When THE BOW hit my kindle I immediately cleared my schedule for the evening and dove right on it. I knew this book would consume me much like the previous two and boy did it ever! I am so freaking excited to report that this is NOT the last book like I was terrified (no seriously I was going to ugly cry if these characters were going to be done!) it was going to be, but instead we will get another book in November of this year! Yay! Happy dance!! Now back to business! These books definitely need to be read in order as they really do progress from one to the other, and this one picks up from book two. We find Vanessa facing a task from the Queen that is not going to be easy to complete and she certainly ends up in quite the predicament. I honestly can’t even begin to fathom sharing any more details but you must run not walk and get this now! Download the whole series! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book!

Whew, this was one hot and steamy ride through the BDSM world. I really enjoyed this read even though I probably started a bit later than I should have and will need to go back and start at the beginning to really get to know the club and the rest of the gang because I don’t want to miss the goodies that are in those books I am sure. I enjoyed that there was plenty of action and adventure that kept me on my toes as well as the romance so I was never once at a lull while reading and actually found myself reading this book in one sitting. I was pleasantly surprised with how well Ms. Nelson wrote the world of BDSM, I have only once before read her work and again I can tell she really has a knack and an eye for the details and that is a talent to really treasure in this particular genre when writing. I will definitely be back to see what she may release next!

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finally, a princess that breaks the mold! This book drew me in from the very first page and didn’t loosen its grip even when I reached the last page. Princess Rowan is such a spitfire that her beautiful red hair absolutely suits her personality. She is the complete opposite of what one would typically expect a Princess to be. She is brave and adventurous and outspoken. The authors did an amazing job of showing just how much one mistake can change your entire life. The way that Rowan handled being suddenly thrust into a different kingdom where women are expected to look pretty and keep quiet was fabulous. She made me laugh out loud so many times and think to myself good for her!
Watching Lord Theodore slowly transition to Theo was priceless. He comes across as a typical stuffy, boring jerk royal until he starts to let his walls down and Rowan has so much to do with that. She upturns his life like a hurricane, but one that he desperately needed. Rowan and Theo really bring out the best in each other. I experienced so many different emotions as I read this book and the ending definitely had my mouth dropped open in shock and eager to read the next book in this series.

Decisions and Possibilities (Notebook Mysteries #2)Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mullins really did a great job in her character development in this book. I really enjoyed Emma and her strong character and she was very relatable. I felt you needed it with some of the mysteries that went on here with the womens shelter. In the beginning she showed how you can be anything and do anything if you just put your mind to it. Even in a mans world you can stand out and honestly more young girls need to read books that can build you up. I liked that there was a few cases in one story.

Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie was a very interesting read for me. This is a novella in a genre that I wouldn’t normally try but the blurb and the cover art caught my attention and I was hooked when I started the very first chapter. I really loved how she incorporated the old world with the new and the ancestral horror was subtle but effective and definitely kept this reader on the edge of her seat. So if you need a short novella to read this weekend then I highly recommend Weep, Woman, Weep: A Gothic Fairytale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am absolutely blown away by this story. Weep, Woman, Weep’s message of healing past generational trauma and accepting growth, light, and happiness was one I could absolutely relate to. It was one of those stories in which the sadness and pain seeps into your soul, but so does the healing. As a fellow Latina, who grew up in a very Caucasian area, I felt kind of at home in this story and it was kind of scary how I could identify so much with Mercy— a young woman who had been hurt, and grew to be overly cautious with anyone and everyone around her. I think I’m going to read this about 10 more times to help my soul heal a little more. I will definitely be on the lookout for more stories by Dr. Maria DeBlassie.

No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio is one of the best romance stories that I have read this year. Her characters are just utterly amazing Kayla a single mom of a four year old, and Kyle a strong, attractive construction worker are just the tip of the iceberg. All of her supporting characters are amazing as well, and the plot literally speaks for itself with how amazing it is. But can Kayla and Tanner really keep their relationship as “no strings attached”? Or will feelings start to come into play? But more importantly what happens when Kayla’s attractive ex comes back into the picture? You’ll have to read No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio for yourself to find out.

Goddess of Everything: A Blood-Curdling Tale of Truth, Freedom, and Love by Paul DeBlassie III was a very intense and interesting read. While this isn’t normally something I read the blurb and the cover art drew me in and once I started I couldn’t put it down. This story is so full of love, truth, and a struggle for freedom but it is also full of a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and several scenes that will leave you will chills. Mr. DeBlassie III has a way of writing that even when your reading a book that isn’t in your normal genre he’ll find a way to get you hooked and leave you wanting more. The characters in this book for detailed beautifully, and I personally found the plot fascinating. This book was absolutely amazing! I seriously can’t wait how this series is to continue. There was so much adventure, love, loss, drama, family, and friendships. Titania is an amazing Fae! She has the spunk to be herself and seriously puts you in for a good ride of a book! She has lost her brothers, and with all the war and mysteries ahead of her, she has so much to accomplish as much as still a whole life ahead of her to enjoy. It was a long book but so worth it!

Why We Don’t Die in Dreams: Book 1 by Debbie Zello – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Why we don't die in DreamsWhy we don’t die in Dreams by Debbie Zello
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Why We Don’t Die In Dreams is an exciting thriller by Debbie Zello, focusing around a detective who’s dreams seem to be giving him clues about a serial killer. It is the first in a series, leaving some mysteries to be answered in the next book.
This book is an erotic thriller, and the protagonist Gavin definitely spends a lot of time fantasising about (and, occasionally, sleeping with) women. Personally I didn’t feel like I needed a description of every female characters’ boobs but I do get that, in a story told from Gavin’s perspective, that was a detail he would consistently pick up on. With the killer’s approaches seemingly S&M-adjacent, Gavin and his partner Lou investigate the local S&M scene which is approached sensitively and positively.
My favourite characters include Jules, Gavin’s long-term friend-with-benefits who outlines the unfair differences in expectations of men and women in her kind of work, and Josie, the “twenty-year-old stuck in a sixty-year-old’s body” who runs the bar Gavin frequents.
For me, this is a four-star book. I’d recommend it to people who enjoy getting their teeth into a good, weird mystery and are into reading erotica. It’s a page-turner that will occupy your brain until you’ve finished it (and a good while after…)

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson was an amazing read. Her characters were simply amazing, the plot flowed beautifully, and the steamy scenes were written perfectly. While this is the ending to Ms. Nelson’s series it can be read as a stand alone but reading the others for background context can be helpful. This book was filled with secrets, romance, drama, and oh so much more. While each character has two different sides they enter-twine beautifully and flawlessly. So if your looking for a steamy read this weekend I highly recommend Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Welp. I made the mistake of reading this and not knowing that it’s a spin off of another series that takes place 20ish years before. 😉 It’s a good mistake though because I have more of this world I get to be exposed to from Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison! (Also the first book I’ve read by them and I’m obsessed with them now) Anyway…. The beginning lured me in and got me good. I love the introduction we got to Rowan! She’s so badass and I love the way she challenges the “norm” (which “norm” for Socarian not for her). Theo is distracting. When I first read his description I spent an embarrassing amount of time daydreaming over him. 😉 The cover is beautiful and eye catching and I AM EAGER for the next one! I’m excited for the other series I missed though! Onto the next 💖
