Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart Book 1) by Melody Calder – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sexy Drug is book 1 in the Losing My Heart Trilogy by Melody Calder. It is a powerful blend of love, deceit, crime, lust, and betrayal all beautifully woven together in a story that will keep you riveted. Callous, cold hearted bodyguard Ramone is ordered to be personal bodyguard for his boss’ spoiled, obnoxious daughter Katie. A girl that he has always despised and wanted nothing to do with. All that changes when he is assigned to be her personal bodyguard after she survives an attempt on her life by a sniper. As much as each tries to deny it, they forge a bond and find a growing attraction between them. Each must deny their attraction for the other or risk being killed by her overbearing, controlling father who is a powerful drug lord.

Sexy Drug was beautifully written and had a nice flow from chapter to chapter. It starts off strong and keeps you hooked from the first few pages and compels you to keep reading. Full of descriptive writing Melody Calder draws the reader into each scene making you feel as though you are there in that place and in that moment. The tension between characters intrigued me and compelled me to keep reading to see what would happen next. I found the book hard to put down as I was drawn into the world of Ramone and Katie. This is a book that I know I will want to read more than once, from cover to cover, with no interruptions. I highly recommend this book!

Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honour Novel Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance (Cambridge Men of Honour—Dark Mafia Romances 1) by Felicity Brandon – Review by Natasha Hlinka

ChasedChased by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was amazing!! I usually do not like “love at first sight” kind of stories but I could not put this one down. The relationship between Allegra and Chase seems so easy but when you look more into it, for Allegra, it is confusing and deeper than just lust for Chase. The reason I gave this only four stars instead of five is I did not agree with somethings that happened in the book but I realized they were essential to move the plot forward. Also I just wanted to know what happens next! I would read a part that I don’t really like but then I would realize that I still want to read more. Allegra just has this spunkiness and attitude about her that you just want to know what she is going to do or say next. Also, I think that Felicity Brandon made the right choice in having the story in Allegra and Chase’s point of view because if you didn’t agree with a decision they made at least you saw where they were coming from and you could see their thought process which always keeps me interested in reading the story. This book is perfect for anyone who wants a fast paced read that will keep your attention and make you want more!

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Bethany Rollins

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just read Bound by Secrets, the 2nd book of Amy McKinley’s Deadly Isles Special Ops series. It was a really great read, just like the first book. This storyline is based on Jaxon, a former Navy Seal, turned interim police officer, and Kayla, the daughter of the police chief and sisters of Jaxon’s best friend, who passed aways years prior. Kayla and Jaxon share a brief romance, but due to tragedy and life’s circumstances, a divide came between them and here we are 10 years later. Kayla is on the run from a dangerous man, out to claim his property, Kayla. She does what is best for her and the safety of her parents by staying with Jaxon, the man she still loves and knows will protect her. The close proximity of the two lead to secrets coming to light and a building of their attraction towards each other among the danger surrounding Kayla’s reappearance.
This story has a lot of excitement, suspense, romance and intrigue. It is a fast paced read and keeps me wanting to see where this series takes for the 3rd installment. The characters are all fantastic and it’s easy to form an attachment towards the storyline. Strongly recommend reading this series.

This is the first book in the Losing My Heart series and wow what a book. It had  me gripped from the first page. It’s a rollercoster story with danger, Romance, suspense and excitement. The author does an amazing job writing the characters that they literally jump off the page.

Dirty Tactics (Special Weapons & Tactics Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Peyton Banks – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Dirty Tactics by Peyton Banks

Narrated by Wen Ross and Teri Taylor

Five Stars

Dirty Tactics is the first book in the Special Weapons & Tactic series by Peyton Banks. This is the first book I have listed to by Ms. Banks, but definitely won’t be the last. I enjoyed this book from the very start. Marcus and Sarena have off the charts chemistry and the intimate scenes are Hot, Hot, Hot,

This book packs a bunch of action in its five plus hours. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Wen Ross does a wonderful job narrating, as usual, bringing the characters to life. This is the first book I have listened to Trei Taylor narrate, but won’t be the last. She did a wonderful job.

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Juls Dick

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5)Secure Decision by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Decision by RL Dunn is the 5th book in the Chase Security series, each book follows a different member of the team and can be read as a stand alone however I find it easier to keep track of who everyone is, as I have read each book in sequence.
Secure Decision follows Wes, a Chase Security Exec who has been tasked with opening and running the companies newest training centre, and Eleanor, who is hired as the head of the equine therapy team. Unfortunately, she is also on the run from her past and it seems that it is starting to catch up with her. When bodies start showing up on the grounds and the team is targeted by outside subjects it becomes difficult for the team to know who to trust. I really liked all the books in this series so far, but this one might be my favourite. It is fast paced, and action packed with a bit of romance thrown in too. It makes you really care for the characters and you find yourself cheering them on. I highly recommend to fans of this genre.

Secure Decision: Chase Security Series # 5 by R.L. Dunn – Review By Tina Vega

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5)Secure Decision by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was very impressed with the plot of this book. The author has a well-developed plot with a ton of details. Many twists are revealed as you read, some I didn’t expect. My favorite character was the hero, Wes. He was perfect for the troubled heroine of this book. I will say that sometimes scenes were so detailed that I bogged down with the medical and military terminology. I’m a fast reader, and the author definitely made me slow down. I felt like I was going to miss a detail, even going back and re-reading a few paragraphs. Overall, a really good read with a plot that keeps you guessing.

As with all this authors books, we get it all in this one. The chemistry, the passion, the action of someone crazy and the fierce men who protect the leading lady. Red Coat by Isobella Dunn – Review by Ashley Westerman

Red CoatRed Coat by Isobella Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I picked up Red Coat by Isobella Dunn because I can relate to it. Sara and Rachel were/are foster youth. As a child/teenager I spent time growing in foster homes. Sara and Rachel’s troubles are often not uncommon in foster homes, at least in my experiences. I felt like the author did a lot of research before writing, or maybe she lived similar experiences.
I enjoyed the story a lot, it was an easy read, a mix of family issues, thriller and suspense, and some romance thrown in. I related a lot to the characters and spent the whole book rooting for Rachel. There are great background stories for the characters, so you really feel like you get to know them and understand them. You may shed some tears along the way, a racing heartbeat, and happiness as you read through this book.

Sexy drug was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.

After an attempt on Katie’s life. Ramone is put in charge of being her bodyguard, his boss’s daughter. He is not thrilled about the job at all. Katie also has her opinion of Ramone. But as these two spend more time together they get to see another side to each other.

Will Ramone be able to keep Katie safe?

Overall I really enjoyed this read.
Ramone, ah Ramone where to start with this man. I really liked him and enjoyed the build up between him and Katie. Katie, my heart went out to her because of the father she had. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We get drama, danger, suspense and so much more. If you like dark reads this is one for you. ☆☆☆☆☆

This is a full length novel. In this first book of the Special Weapons and Tactics. This has some scenes not intended for those under 18. But the rest of you go right in.

Marcus MacArthur is a Navy Seal after his departure, and becoming a member of an elite SWAT team. His focus was to stay away from relationships as they were a distraction. Watch out for Sarena Rucker. Who is an emergency nurse at the local hospital, and the New Neighbor to Marcus. Can these two people build a friendship, or a romance? Will Marcus be able to focus enough to save Sarena?

Peyton Banks has written this suspenseful romantic story. It was a fast read and captured my heart at the very beginning. I absolutely love Marcus and Sarena. Their interaction with each other as well as their struggles made this story interesting as well as entertaining. They tried so hard to stay out of each other’s lives. I found myself wanting more from this author. Well Done Peyton Banks! Well Done!

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1) by Melody Calder follows the storylines for Ramone and Katie. Katie, the daughter of a ruthless criminal, is in danger and she gets a bodyguard courtesy of her father, Ramone.

The tension in the book is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The characters interactions with each other seems like something you could find in a tv show or movie. I kept getting that sensation while reading it that it could be a tv show. The portrayal of evil was believable and sometimes uncomfortable. It was a great read that I binged in a day.

I will definitely finish this series!

Sexy Drug is the first book in the Losing My Heart series by Melody Calder. This is a fantastic romantic suspense, with a enemies to lovers/mafia element, some drama, danger, tension, and more. I was pulled into the story quite quickly and was avidly reading to discover how it all played out in the end.
Katie is the daughter of a powerful and dangerous drug lord. She has the reputation of being a spoiled princess. Ramone is one of her fathers trusted men. They have a mutual dislike of one another- so things get heated when Katie’s safety is on the line and Ramone is tasked with keeping her safe. Thrust together, the sparks soon fly. Get set for a fantastic read! Now I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you, Melody Calder!

Sexy Drug by Melody Calder – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lots of intrigue and excitement in this one! Katie Rosewood is the daughter of crime lord kingpin Carl Rosewood, who will stop at nothing to keep his daughter safe. After an attempt on her life, he assigns one of his top bodyguards, Ramone Sanchez, to guard her 24/7. Initially, Ramone sees her as a spoiled rich girl, but after spending time with her and seeing her at her most vulnerable, he begins to care for her. Unfortunately, while Carl vehemently protects his daughter, he is a thorough narcissist who sees her only as a valuable possession whom he can control at his whim. When he decides to expand his business, Katie may end up being a pawn whom he can trade to satisfy his desires.

The character of Carl is drawn well and is truly frightening. I really liked Ramone, and we got to hear a lot from his point of view. The plot takes many twists and turns, which kept me engaged in the story. All in all, this is a good romance with many elements of danger and corruption that will satisfy readers of crime and suspense as well.

I have very mixed feelings about this book and my main problem for this book was that I just didn’t care about the characters. I really wanted to like Chase and Allegra (if I’ve spelt that right?) but they just annoyed me for the majority of this book and I really wanted to believe their relationship but I had issues with that too. Especially over a certain scene, I was just like huh? So I did stick out reading the whole of this book which did take a few to get through but overall I’m glad I read it. I might even read some more of her books who knows. I liked the writing though and that is something that kept me reading.

Heart of Stone (The Stone Series Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Kerry Baker

Heart of Stone Audio Book by Dakota Willink is volume one in The Stone Series. I enjoyed the idea of this book however I do think it could have been executed a little better. As I was listening to it I found myself engaged and enjoying it but afterwards it felt like there hadn’t been much detail in it. By the time the book was over it didn’t feel like there had been too much development and that it had all happened in a very short amount of time.

I also didn’t connect with the characters too well, although I am interested enough to see what happens in the next book.

Overall I did enjoy the story though. It caught my attention in the moment and it is the first book that I have listened to with two narrators. Although that took a little getting used to once I had I thought it really added to the story. This is a good book and I am looking forward to the next one.

But things aren’t always as neat and clean as they appear. Mafia romance at its finest! Loved this story! The characters are fantastic and likable. The storyline moves at a perfect pace. Fabulous! This book really just jumped right in. That beginning! Mila wanted a new life for herself, a life of her choosing. I could understand that, but I also get how heartbreaking her leaving was for Dane. He definitely wasn’t kind to her after all those years apart. Eleven years away is a long time, but the feelings and chemistry between Dane and Mila was intense!  Could Dane really take another chance with her, and trust her to stay by his side?  I loved this one even more than the last!

Secure Decision is the fifth book in the Chase Security series. I highly recommend reading the first four as they are all entertaining. This author is one of few authors I will grab knowing that there will be a great story. Her writing style is so masterful it takes me for a ride-along with the characters in the story. Speaking of characters, they are fully developed and complex. They bring the story to life. I feel like I am friends with the characters and I can influence them through the story. There is a bit of a roller coaster ride for Elenor and Wes, the main characters. In this story, Wes and Elenor have some big decisions to make. I highly recommend this story to see how Elenor and Wes work through their thoughts and decisions. A little warning, you may want to start reading this when you have enough time to finish the entire story in one sitting.

I loved the first one in the series, the taster book for what was about to happen but I was not prepared for how awesome this book was going to be! I was hooked from the very beginning and I am left wanting so much more! This writing duo are so suited to each other, their talent blends into one and you literally have no idea that it’s written by two authors. Dane was just – I’m not sure I even know how to describe him – should I love him or shouldn’t I? I have no idea which It should be but I know that I most definitely do love him! The pull between him and Mila was magnetic. I loved every second of this book and I cannot wait for more!!
