Good story with a lot going on. I did not love it as much as book 1 in the series but it is still enjoyable. I just feel the unknown of a few things was too vague to actually care about it too much which led to me not being completely invested in the character. I did like the interaction between the two main characters. Why they were that way with each other I wasn’t completely sure. Each one has a few secrets and as they are forced together they slowly come out. I liked the action in here….and there is a lot! As for secondary characters the future story between Drake and Finlay had me awaiting with bated breath.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 6th book in the Fateful Justice Series. These books can be read as a standalone however I will be heading back to read the rest as I really enjoyed this story.

This is a cowboy romance but it is so much more, with danger, stalkers, an ex determined to get his woman back and a big hearted cowboy who is determined to protect her at all costs.

When Hayden gets shot he realises he needs to do something fast else he risks dying out in the cold. Knowing he won’t reach his own property he heads to the closest property around. When he arrives he wakes to see a woman. He takes her breath away. Who is she and what is her story.

Ruby has taken time in this cabin to escape her ex. Her ex is a dangerous man who will stop at nothing to get her. When she finds a man on the porch with a gunshot wound she knows she has to help, so she takes him in and nurses him back to health. Ruby saved Hayden’s life and as their connection grows stronger he vows to protect her.
When Ruby’s ex returns, Hayden knows he needs to do all he can to stop her ex getting close to her and protect her from all danger but why does he feel this need? He doesn’t do relationships so why does the thought of losing Ruby terrify him so much.

As the full picture of Ruby’s past finally comes to light Hayden knows he will protect her no matter the danger.

This is a really sweet captivating romance which is fast paced with loads of twist and turns. I just couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with both Hayden and Ruby and they are so perfect for each other.

Shadowed Agenda by Mavery Ellscott is the second book to the Shadow Defense Security series. Full of suspense, romantic tension, and lots of plot twists, this is a strong story for a second book and definitely left me ready for more! I loved the characters. Regan and Pavlo are strong character leads and I adored them both. Regan is very headstrong but also a loving single mother that is willing to do whatever she thinks she has to to keep her daughter safe. Pavlo is a former Navy Seal and a member of the secretive group known as Shadow Defense Security. They are both authors on a book tour and due to some history between them, they try to keep their distance. But when the book tour takes a terrifying turn for Regan, Pavlo steps up and tries to help keep Regan safe as well as get to the bottom of threats and attacks being made against her. The tension between them grows as they spend more time together. But Regan doesn’t want Pavlo involved in this growing threat, and Pavlo doesn’t think he can be more than an occasional one night stand. The story had me hooked and turning the pages as quickly as I could, devouring every word until the end! I highly recommend for romantic suspense lovers. I look forward to more from this author.

To Catch An Elf by Debra Parmley – Review by Beverly Finnie

To Catch An Elf: Pennsylvania Fighter PilotTo Catch An Elf: Pennsylvania Fighter Pilot by Debra Parmley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I enjoy this author but To Catch an Elf wasn’t one of my favorites. I wasn’t sure what was going on at first, which made it hard to push forward but I did. It got better and the romance was definitely exciting. That part of the story was written and developed well. Once I figured out what was going on, the growth of the villain in this story was interesting. He definitely escalated quicker than expected which made the story seem a little rushed. Overall it wasn’t my cup of tea but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be yours. It doesn’t take away from what the author presented or even how I feel about this author. The romance was great, the crazy stalker for me needed better development.
Marcie jumps from house to house. House/pet sitting. She has no family and a small group of friends in her home port of Ohio, but she has no real roots anywhere. When she took this job in the Poconos she never expected it would change her life in so many ways.
Ted is getting ready to settle down and get on with life, after retiring from the air force. He starts by buying a house in the Poconos, not a permanent residence but it’s a start. Him and his dog Ace come across this beautiful girl Marcie and that was all she wrote. He wanted to get to know her. Which is exactly what he did!
Can he get her to settle down?
How does he handle her being in danger?
Many questions. Most of them answered. Again the author presented an interesting story. Which had its ups and downs. I loved the Ted and Marcie dynamic. It was the danger lurking that could’ve been better polished.
If you like a great love with a little danger, that includes ex-military. Jump on in!
I’m going to look for the next book by this author.

There is a strange antique elf that gave me creepy vibes. Marcie befriends Ted, a neighbor they seem to have a really good connection. Weird things start to happen, and when Ted gets back from a family wedding Marcie is gone. What happened to her? WIll he be able to find her? This is my first read by this author. This book can easily be read as a stand alone but I’m going to be going back and reading the previous ones in this series.

He’s a very good looking cowboy and she’s running from her past. When Hayden shows up on Ruby’s doorstep, he’s been shot and left for dead. It’s up to Ruby to save his life and then he, in turn, helps to save hers.

This was a suspenseful read full of romance and adventure. There were times the story got a little choppy but overall, a very good read with a happy ending!

Hayden wasn’t looking to fall for the woman that has nursed him back from death. Just when he thinks they’ve gone their separate ways, Ruby calls him and begs for his help. This is a book that kept me hooked until the end. Great story and characters!

This has to be the Everything story of the year! I loved it! Marcie has been hired to dog sit a King Charles Spaniel. Easy right? Wrong, she not only cares for the dog. She also has to take pictures of the antique elf doing different crazy things. Send it in to the contest and remember to keep track of events. Again, easy? Nope, she meets Ted Barrett, an Air Force Pilot. That is where things heat up as romance is in the air. Until Marcie goes missing. Will Ted find her in time? That is all I am going to say about this incredible story. The author has written a rollercoaster of suspense and romance. The characters are funny as well as serious, they sure kept me intrigued. I had to keep turning pages as I could not put it down. There is so much to discover in this story. While ‘To Catch an Elf’ seemed like just a holiday story it turned out to be so much more. It is a romantic suspense novel concentrating on two main characters Marcie and Ted, you also have Zeke and Brittany, there was lots of drama, intrigue, suspense, and dogs, which are all the elements for a pretty great novel, along with a pretty creepy elf. If that sounds like your cup of tea then you should give this quick, slightly steamy novel a try.

To Catch An Elf is a Romantic Suspense that will have you turning the pages till the end. This may be a short story but its packed with drama, suspense, secrets, stalkers, antique elf and so much more. The authors style of writing and attention to detail along with creative yet fully developed characters make for a great story. There’s enough suspense and a twist here and there to keep you on edge. This is Marcie and Tim’s story. She’s a dog sitter and is house sitting for Beverly while she’s gone for the holiday. But she’s not just house sitting and watching over Ginger she finds a note with instructions for the elf. Marcie isn’t impressed with the creepy elf and ginger doesn’t care for it either. Then there’s Ted the hunky neighbor who is interesting as well. She finds herself wanting to get to know him Tim is Air Force Fighter Pilot and sexy-as-sin. These have chemistry and there’s definitely attraction. But what will happen when weird stuff starts happening at the house Marcie is house sitting at? What happens when Marcie comes up missing? Can Ted find her before its to late? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next? I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and entertaining story which had me hooked throughout. What appeared to be a simple Christmas romance novel turned out to be much more. The intriguing storyline was full of drama, suspense, creepy Elf’s and of course romance. Marcie Hayes is house sitting in the Pocono Mountains whilst she dog sits Ginger. Thinking this will be a simple job, she’s a bit confused by the owner’s instructions to take daily pictures of a rather creepy looking antique Christmas elf, but apparently they will be entered into the online ‘Big Busiest Christmas Elf Contest’. Meanwhile, Ted Barrett an Air Force fighter pilot and his dog Ace are also in the Pocono Mountains, whilst he sets up his new house.
When Marcie and Ted meet whilst walking the dogs, they have instant chemistry and start dating. However, Ted then has to leave to go to his brother’s wedding, and he becomes concerned when Marcie stops answering his messages. When he returns he realises that she’s actually been taken but doesn’t know who would take her or why. Ted’s determined to find Marcie and he finds his first clue as to what happened to her, when Ginger attacks the creepy Elf. The characters and the setting were brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, and I felt as though I was in the Pocono Mountains along with Ted and Marcie. The chemistry between them sizzled off the page and I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story. I found this to be a real page turner and one which I couldn’t put down.

Renewed (Fateful Justice Series) by Sara Vinduska. This is the 6th book in the Fateful Justice series and I loved it! It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get to know all the characters. Ruby is hiding from her past and her mean ex so when she finds a man on her front porch covered in snow she is leary. The last thing Hayden remembers is checking the fence in the back pasture and that’s all he remembers, how he ends up on this ladies house with a bandage he has no clue. There is also a winter storm so he is stuck at Ruby’s. Hayden finally gets better and the weather clears up for him to leave. He and Ruby exchange numbers and when she packs up to keep moving her ex breaks in and tries to kill her. She runs into the woods and calls Hayden to help her so he takes her back to his house. Neither Hayden or Ruby are looking for a relationship but their feelings are growing. Read this awesome book to find out if Ruby escapes her ex and if Hayden and Ruby make it work!

This book was not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. I was expecting a holiday romance and was confused at first about the antique elf but it all makes sense. There is a holiday romance and plenty of it however there is also danger, Suspense, a kidnapping, a stalker and plenty more. I was hooked from the beginning by the strange elf and the weird list of tasks it has to do and then things just got more and more strange.

Marcie Hayes has taken the job of dog/house sitter what she didn’t expect to be dealing with is a strange elf. When the home owner leaves her a list of tasks to do with the elf she thinks the owner is made. But that’s not the only strange thing. Why does she need to leave the key under the mat for the cleaning people?
Just putting it down to the homeowners weirdness she set about her job of taking care of the dog and house.
When she’s out one day she meets Ted Barrett and the connection is instant. As the couple get to know each other and start dating Ted has to leave for a family wedding but he’s happy that Marcie will be there when he returns.

Imagine his shock when she isn’t. Marcie has disappeared.
When she finds herself kidnapped she preys that Ted will look for her. Will he look for her or will he just think she isn’t interested and not bother?

With the twists and turns, uncovering the reason why she was taken and by who and also the ancient Elf this is a festive story that will keep you gripped to the edge of your seat.

There’s plenty of drama, action, past secrets to keep you turning the pages till the end. This is a story about Ruby and Hayden. She wants a fresh start but what she didn’t expect was to have to save a man who was shot and found on her porch. Hayden works the family ranch and isn’t really looking for anyone. To Catch an Elf appears to be the first book in a new series- Pennsylvania Fighter Pilot– by Debra Parmley. It is a romantic suspense with drama, challenges, a creepy factor, stalking, sinister intents, agendas, secrets, dramatic developments, K9 companions, an antique elf with a story to tell, abduction, connection, and more.
This is Marcie Hayes and Ted Barrett’s story. Marcie has been hired to house sit, to look after a dog and document the activities of a strange elf for her employers to enter a Christmas competition. What happens when strange things start happening? Ted Barrett has a neighbouring home that he is looking forward to spending the holidays in for the first time. He and Macie seem to connect, but then she disappears while he is away for a family wedding. What happened? Things are not all as they seem.
I think Ted is the twin brother of Jack from ‘Montana Marine’ – which is one of the Brotherhood Protector series stories. If so, in a way, this book/series could be a bit of a spin-off to that. In ‘Montana Marine’ though, Jack’s last name is Barr- not Barrett. So that made me a little confused. But all the other factors fit, like his fiancé being Lucy, the same as Ted’s brother’s fiancé in this book…. So, I think I am right about them being twins and the connection.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debra Parmley!

Intriguing romantic suspense story that was hard to put down and I enjoyed the story very much. Never expecting to be creeped out by an elf, I can honestly say the story-line definitely had it share of a bit of twists and turns and had me a bit uptight to find out what happens next.

What can possibly happen while dog sitting for a customer over the holiday season…..Marcie Hayes finds out and not in the easiest of ways…..Marcie being hired to take care of Ginger, a King Charles Spaniel, while her owner, Beverly is out of town during the holiday. Marcie did not realize that not only dog sitting she was tasked with but also in the means of an antique elf. While Marcie is not familiar with the Pocono Mountain surroundings, she meets friendly neighbor, Ted Barrett and their attraction hits immediately. While Ted and Marcie get to know each other better…you never know who is watching…..until Marcie is missing.

Will Ted be there when she needs him the most? Definitely read and find out. I dont want to give an spoilers away…but I love the suspense in this story. It had me on edge….

It is book 6 in the series, but I read it stand-alone and still really enjoyed it. Hayden is every woman’s dream cowboy. Ruby is a sweetheart, though a bit of a damsel in distress. Together, they make a sexy, unstoppable couple. The love scenes in this book were steamy and enjoyable. There was enough other action and storylines to entertain me the entire time. To Catch an Elf: Pennsylvania Fighter Pilot is a story that is filled with action, intense suspense, excitement, a lot of weirdness and passion just to name a few.
The story is well written and is intriguing and will have you engaged and on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Debra’s descriptive writing is easily imagined and draws you in to the chaos. You will find yourself all hot and bothered and on the edge of your seat in suspense.

It was supposed to be an easy gig. House sit and dog watch, oh and one creepy elf. But let’s not forget the stage instructions that have to be followed. I hate creepy dolls. Marcie finds strange things happening and now she is in a situation she can’t get out of and only hopes that her connection to Ted will be enough for him to try to find her.
Confused Ted make is way home, only what he finds is not what he was expecting. Who has her and why?
To find out the mystery of the elf you should add this book to your TBR list.
If you love sexy, strong, heroic men then grab a copy.
I cannot wait for the next book.

This book was amazing. It took twists and turns that I didn’t think could happen in a holiday story. It is intense. To start, I already think that elves are a little creepy but this book makes them even more creepy in my mind. I kept turning the pages to see what was going to happen. I couldn’t decided which character I liked more or which one was going on my can’t stand list. The author writes the story in a way that not only makes it flow but also makes you more and more intrigued. Soon you will find yourself trying to figure out what the next move is going to be and almost makes you feel like a detective from your seat. While all this drama is going on there is a sweet, sweet love story going on. You will feel yourself being pulled in different directions, rooting for love, talking to the book because of what is happening, and swooning over just some really cute moments. I highly recommend this book because not only did I not expect what happened to happen but it kept me engaged the whole story and I wasn’t able to put it down. It was a quick read for those reasons.
