A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Rosanna Ingram

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amber is not a fan of Christmas (and that’s putting it lightly). She is known as the town Grinch because she just dislikes it all. Her ill-feelings stem from her childhood and she just does not want anything to do with the holidays.

Gio is a single dad that loves the holidays. He has just moved to town when he makes his way into Amber’s bar…and he is determined to help her find the joy of Christmas again after he hears about her past. However, Amber is not so easy to win over. Can Gio and his daughter, Talia, change mind? Or is Amber destined to hate the holidays forever?

This is such a quick read that I devoured it in one sitting. I don’t want to give a lot away because it is a great book to jump into without any spoilers! I have enjoyed past books from this author and this one is probably one of my favorites. The characters are lovable, and it is the perfect time of year to be reading a story like this!

Dead Sound (Things Unseen Series Book1) by Anise Eden – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Dead Sound (Things Unseen, #1)Dead Sound by Anise Eden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow…there is so much going on in this book and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Neve is returning to work after an attack and is stunned by the scene she walks into. Turns out, she is the center of something that she has no idea about. Her boss, Rosanna (the first time I have ever seen my own name as a character!), tries to talk her into going home until things settle down. Neve refuses as she wants (and needs) to be back at work.

Another person who wants to keep Neve safe is a fellow doctor, Cornelius (known as Con). They both have a mutual attraction that they keep hidden…or so they think. Neve hasn’t acted on her feelings because she doesn’t want to ruin their friendship…and Con hasn’t because, until recently, Neve had a boyfriend.

As the hospital is dealing with the patients who believe Neve plays an important role in thwarting the apocalypse that will be brought on by another doctor, Neve and Con must work together to figure out what is going on. As they are working through the clues they are coming across, they find themselves knee-deep in the underbelly of Washington DC and a political conspiracy.

There are so many aspects of this story that work well together to create an adventure like no other…tragedy, romance, mental health, politics, suspense, and love. It’s all there, woven together seamlessly. This was the first book that I have read from this author…but it won’t be my last!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caspian is one of New York’s most eligible bachelors. He is running his uncles company and works hard for the lavish lifestyle he leads. However, when his uncle gives him some grim news, he will do whatever it takes to make sure his uncle is around for a long time. One of the things he must do, though, is find a wife and stay married for at least one year. If he fails to do this, his uncle will leave the company to someone else or sell the company. Caspian has a few women that he is seeing…but none of them will do for what he needs.

Paisley can’t seem to catch a break. Her art isn’t selling the way she hoped it would, she is barely making ends meet financially, and now her mother needs to be moved to a better care facility while she is in a coma. After receiving the bad news from doctors, she is surprised to run into an old friend that she knew growing up. Caspian offers her a way out of the situation she is in…albeit unconventionally.

What starts out as a sham marriage turns into more…for Paisley. She finds herself caring for Caspian and wanting him to be happy. But, when she is finally at a place where life is looking up…tragedy strikes. Paisley seems to get hit over and over again with bad news to the point where she must make a decision…money or honesty?!?

I enjoyed both of these characters. They are both complex and Caspian comes off cold and mean at times…and caring and nurturing others. Getting his backstory shed some light on that. Paisley definitely comes out stronger in all of this even if it is a rough and heartbreaking ride. Overall, a good story that kept my attention until the last page!

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Breckin is definitely not in the market for a new man. Her ex-husband left her for a high school cheerleader and she still has to see him at work (although she avoids him at all costs). After a particularly bad day, her and her girlfriends go out for margarita’s at the local bar. After a few too many, the cute bartender volunteers to make sure she gets home safely and her friends are ready for her to move on in the relationship department.
Griff is busy running his bar and has no time, or desire, to find a woman to share his life with. He had that once…but his desire for a relationship died right along with her. When he takes Breckin home one night, a friendship begins that has him feeling things he hasn’t felt in a long time. To spend more time with her, he asks her to help plan his grandmother’s birthday. The more time they are around each other, the more feelings grow.
But…can either of them move on from their pasts? And what happens when their pasts refuse to be moved on from?
I enjoyed Breckin and Griff’s characters. And Griff’s grandma…loved her!! Both Breckin and Griff have had pasts that could make it hard to open up their hearts again. Their story is cute and romantic…but real and relatable. Overall, a good story.

The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mark and Lauren were supposed to be a one night stand after their best friend’s wedding. In fact, they didn’t exchange numbers and Lauren made the walk of shame to her room the next morning.
But…they are both feeling a connection that they swore they would. Lauren has been burned by men in the last and does not trust her own gut feelings when it comes to trust. Mark has resigned himself to a no-strings lifestyle because he has a lot going on in his life that leaves no room for more.
But, when these two find themselves going back for seconds (and thirds and fourths…) they are not sure how to make it work. And, when secrets come to light, there might not be a relationship to worry about.
This is a story about finding the person that makes you change your tune when it comes to dating. The person who makes you think that you could be in it for the long haul. But both characters have some growing to do before they are ready for something serious. Are they willing to make that change or are they too set in their ways?
This was a good book that pulled me in with the chemistry between the two main characters and kept my attention to see what would happen. I enjoyed the story and definitely want to know the story behind some of the other characters.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Joe and his band Gracefall have made it big…they have been chosen to headline a tour. When they get the news, Joe can’t wait to share the news with the one woman who means everything to him…his best friend, Mel.

Mel just received some devastating news (in terms of her career) and is not sure where to go from here. When Joe offers her a job as their tour manager, she is wary for two reasons: 1-she is the daughter of a rock legend and knows what tour looks like in terms of parties and booze and 2-she and Joe are barely holding that friendship line they put down and she is afraid if anything happens they could ruin everything. After talking with her dad, she takes the gig.

While Gracefall is definitely a group of rockstars that works hard and parties harder, Mel finds herself wanting more with Joe but denying herself because of their friendship. Joe has decided that he wants more and is willing to make her see that they could be great. However, every time they think about taking that step, something happens that keeps it from happening. But, when they finally get some time alone, years of repressed feelings surge to to forefront and a beautiful relationship begins.
It is not smooth sailing…as they are rockstars and everyone has their own baggage and insecurities. Their relationship is tested multiple times. And, when tragedy strikes, can they hold it together? Or are their lives destined to go in two different directions?

I enjoyed reading about Joe and Mel. All the other guys in the band are great characters and I would love to know more about their stories. I hope they have books in the future.

THE BOW (HER THREE IMMORTALS Book 3) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The Bow: A Fated Mates Greek Myth Paranormal Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 3)The Bow: A Fated Mates Greek Myth Paranormal Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First…if you haven’t read the first two books…go back and do that before beginning this book…you won’t regret it!!

This book starts where Book 2 left off. Vanessa is given a task by the queen of the Underworld…who doesn’t seem to like her very much. While the task doesn’t seem too difficult…it is Vanessa’s soul at stake if she fails. After a series of mishaps and unexpected events, Vanessa finds herself whisked to the Upperworld by Aroz. However, with the time quickly dwindling down for her complete her task, she is unable to find a way out. Will her love interests be able to save her in time? Or will she fail?

I find myself immersed in this story as much as the first two. All the characters and all the different worlds make for a fantastic read. This book is a littler steamier than the first two…but so worth it. I am already looking forward to the next book!

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Forever: A Diamond Doms NovelForever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson

Russell and Gemma have the type of chemistry that will burn up your kindle!

Russell is left in charge of Elijah’s wife, Holly, and her best friend, Gemma, while Elijah is away. Should be easy…until he sees Gemma’s bratty side that has his dom side taking notice. While Russell has played with club members before…this is a whole different story. And, what starts out with some S&M play quickly becomes something more…something that Russell wrote off years ago when his marriage ended.

Both Russell and Gemma have secrets that they keep hidden deep within them. But, with a threat against Club Solitaire getting closer and closer, those secrets won’t be hidden for long. Can both of them move beyond their pasts? Are they willing to see if there is a future together?

I did not know this was the conclusion of a series when a started this book…so I can say that this can be read as a standalone. However, I will be going back and reading the rest of the books because I want some of the backstory on other characters that play a part in the story. I really enjoyed Russell and Gemma’s relationship. Yes…it was a brat/dom relationship full of kinks and S&M…but there is so much more to it. I enjoyed them and definitely want to know more about the other members.

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Runaway to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #2)Runaway to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was quite enjoyable.

Jonas owns a bar in a small town. He is close to his siblings and is content with his life. However, those thoughts are turned upside down when Pandora turns up in his pub with a wedding dress on.

Pandora needs a break from her job…and takes it in the middle of a photo shoot with wedding dress on by hightailing it out of Sydney in a borrowed rental car. She isn’t sure what to do next, but stopping at a pub in a small town is where she finds herself a few hours later.

There is immediate chemistry between Jonas and Pandora. However, when the real world comes knocking and she must face the backlash of her rash actions, will Jonas stand beside her? Or will his peaceful small town living be more enticing?

I enjoyed this book. Both characters were coming to terms with the importance of self-happiness over their careers. They were searching for a balance that seemed to take a while to find. The supporting characters were also enjoyable.

Something Lost (Funerals and Weddings Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Something LostSomething Lost by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rachel and Craig dated behind her father’s back when they were in high school. He was the coach’s star player and she was the coach’s daughter. Once graduation came…they went their separate ways. Craig went one way to try to chase his dream…while Rachel followed her father’s expectations for her and became a high school therapist. Years pass and the two are brought together once again when Rachel’s father passes away.
One thing is certain when these two meet again…their feelings for each other never went away. They have both grown and changed. There are secrets and traumas between them that may stop them from exploring their feelings for each other before they can even begin.
This is a story of love and loss…trauma and healing…friendship and family. I enjoyed Rachel and Craig’s characters and feel like they were people I knew back in high school. The secondary characters are great and I can’t wait to learn more about them in future books. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and didn’t want to let go when I got to the last page. I am hoping that we will get glimpses of them in future books!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Maddie returns home after her dream of becoming a professional dancer is put on hold. One good thing about moving home to her small town is the view…especially of the neighbor next door. Too bad he has a grumpy attitude to go with those gorgeous looks. Maybe she can turn his frown upside down…

These two are amazing characters. They are both overcoming different obstacles in their lives. Maddie wants to find the good in Adam…because she sees it…but Adam is determined to keep her away. Thank goodness for her meddling dog! You can feel the emotions come off the pages for both of them and it makes for a beautiful story.

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Rosanna Ingram

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy McKinley is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors!

Liliana is a mafia princess. Her father mistreats her and is using her as a pawn to retain power. When she is issued a new bodyguard she will remind everyone that she is not a gentle flower that can’t handle herself. But, when she finds herself in quite the predicament…is her bodyguard trustworthy or is he just another one of her dad’s pawns?

Max is enlisted by Liliana’s grandfather to protect her while also having his own agenda to take care of. But, when he meets Lil…he finds himself attracted to the kick-ass princess. But, as it always is with the Chicago mafia…there are secrets, hidden agendas, violence, and mafia politics at play. Can he get Lil to trust him enough to see that he is there to help her? Or have years of suffering at her father’s hands hardened her to believing anyone is on her side?

I loved this story. I am a huge fan of McKinley…so add in a mafia element and I was in. But this story just blew me away. Liliana is a strong heroine that could go toe-to-toe with Max and hold her own. Another great book my Amy McKinley!

My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love Book 1) by M. A. Fréchette – Review by Rosanna Ingram

My Soul to Give (A Demon's Love #1)My Soul to Give by Magali A. Fréchette

Celina has mere seconds to make a decision that will alter the course of what is left of her life. She can allow herself to be murdered like her husband…or she can make a deal with the devil to seek revenge on those who pulled the trigger. However…making a deal with the devil is not always so cut and dry…

There is so much going on in this story…love, loss, grief, anger, passion, secrets, lies, acceptance, intrigue….it has EVERYTHING! As Celina goes forth in her journey for revenge, she learns that her life is not at all what she believed it was. Her husband had his own secrets that she is only now finding out about. All the while, she is encountering the demons and monster that we only hear tales about when we are growing up. I found myself pulled in by all of it and did not set the book down until I was done.

Kai is scary and sexy and oh so evil…and I loved it. Her fight against the attraction they share is quite the ride. But, at the end of the day, you always need to read the fine print of a contract because there just might be something hidden deep within all those words that will change everything!

I loved Celina and Kai…and all the supporting characters. I never knew where the story was going to go…and it kept me glued to the book (and ignoring the real-world going on around me!). If you like rollercoaster rides….hop on this one!

Romancing the Tropics (A Tropical Cocktail Romance Boxset) by L.M. Mountford – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Romancing the Tropics : A Holiday Romance Boxset (A Tropical Cocktail Romance)Romancing the Tropics : A Holiday Romance Boxset by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

These two stories were quick reads.

The first story, Tequila Sunset, is a best-friend’s dad story. Cassandra is enjoying a getaway off the Spanish coast after her latest boyfriend dumped her for being “boring”. Her best friend booked the tickets as soon as she heard what happened. The only other person at the house is her best friend’s dad, David. Cassandra has always thought David was hot…but she couldn’t possibly act on it…right?

David is enjoying his vacation home while he tries to overcome the writer’s block that seems to have taken up residence in his mind. His daughter and her friend are also at the house. He finds himself spending some extra time staring at how beautiful Cassandra has grown up to be. When his daughter goes out shopping, and he finds himself alone with Cassandra, it’s the perfect time to see if what he is feeling is mutual. When sparks fly between these two…there is no stopping them!

The second story, Beneath the Sheets, is a rekindling story. Alex is returning home to visit his friend Sarah after she reaches out to him after over 5 years of nothing. He doesn’t know why she upped and disappeared years ago…but he is determined to find out! However, the shy and baggy-clothed Sarah he knew from the past is gone. In her place is a beautiful and confident woman who he finds extremely attractive.

Sarah reaches out to David on a drunken whim (encouraged by a friend, of course). When David shows up not too long after…she knows she needs to tell him the truth. There is more to it than her just walking away after Prom. But, now that David’s back, so are her feelings that she has harbored for years. What happens if they act on their mutual attraction?

Both stories were good and I enjoyed them. They are definitely on the erotic side…so if that’s not your jam then be forewarned. I would definitely read books by this author again!

Caught by Him by Tammy Mannersly – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Caught by HimCaught by Him by Tammy Mannersly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This quick read is full of insta-love and drama.

When Brody Nash takes some time away from filming movies to get into character for an upcoming role, he is shocked to find someone breaking into the house next door. When he finds out the would-be criminal is the granddaughter of the house’s owner…he lets her go on her way. But there is something about her that Brody is drawn to. He’s not looking for a relationship, but he definitely wants to spend more time with Willa. But…his new assistant seems to have a thing for him and doesn’t seem to want him and Willa to be together.

Willa’s first encounter with her neighbor for the next few months is when she is climbing over the gate because she can’t seem to find the right key. She finds the new man to be good looking, intriguing, and somewhat familiar. Even if she knows she needs to spend her time working, she wants to spend more time getting to know Brody. Their relationship heats up quickly…but why is her ex showing up at her grandfather’s place. And why does Brody’s assistant seem to be working with her ex to split them up?

This is an insta-romance that is a very quick read and just enough drama to keep it interesting. Brody and Willa are both great characters that seem to balance each other out. You can tell from the get-go that the assistant and the ex are not gonna be good people. I enjoyed this quick-paced book.

Drew: Book One of the Perfectly Independent Series by Amanda Shelley – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Drew (Perfectly Independent, #1)Drew by Amanda Shelley

Drew is a star on his college’s basketball team…but his focus is on finishing school so he can go on to med school. So when he finds a lab partner that seems just as focused as he is, he is one step closer to reaching his goals. But, when he can’t keep his mind off his partner, he is finding it harder to stick to his “no dating during the season” rule. But there is just something about Abby…

Abby is less than impressed when her new lab partner keeps getting stopped by his fans on the first day. She needs him to take this class seriously because she needs to graduate and go on to med school. But, as time passes, there seems to be a lot more to Drew than meets the eye…and she finds herself wanting to know more. She has been burned in the past…and there’s a potential upcoming move across the country for med school…but she finds that her heart is opening up to Drew. When they finally give in…can they make it last? Or will their busy schedules, academic pressure, and the potential future across the country from each other going to put an end to their relationship just as it is getting started?

I enjoyed Drew and Abby. They were both hard-working students focused on their futures. You get an inside look at their internal struggles with opening themselves up to something that they have sworn off for so long. But…there is just something magical about their connection. I found myself enjoying the story and devouring every page to find out how it would all end. It seems like this is a series that I am definitely going to be following!

Unbreakable (The Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Unbreakable (The Diamonds, #1)Unbreakable by Tee Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Erin’s latest patient comes in and she has to sew him up after being stabbed, her world will never be the same. There is something about Ripper that has caught her eye and made her feel things she hasn’t in a while. When he keeps crossing her path, she finds herself opening up to him. However, when someone else takes the liberty of telling her about Rippers past, Erin doesn’t know that Ripper is someone she needs in her life.

Ripper has led a life that most do not approve of. As a part of the Diamonds, he is still doing things that are not on the up-and-up. However, he is content with hook-ups and his dog Zeus. When he meets Erin, though, that all changes. He is drawn to her. However, when he finds out who her father is after a brutal attack…things start clicking into place for both of them. He knows he has to be honest with her…but someone beats him to it and he is pretty sure he has lost her for good.

This book tugged and my heartstrings and made me feel for these characters. They have both been through a lot…and are still going through things…but somehow they have found each other. When their pasts threaten to halt their futures, they must decide if they can move past it. When Erin’s past comes back and reveals their true self, they may not even have a future to work on.

This book has a lot going on…but I enjoyed it. Their pasts are both full of hurt and secrets that make themselves known throughout the story. I found myself rooting for them to make it work. I was surprised by the ending…and happy that it opens up the possibility of another book. Overall, a good book!

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Hold Me ForeverHold Me Forever by Lea Nolan

The Heron Harbor series is full of books that I am always excited to read when they come out…and this is not exception.

Lark is returning Heron Harbor for her sister’s wedding. She is hoping to come to town, attend the wedding, and leave before anyone really notices. That plan goes out the window almost as soon as she gets into town.

Hunter, the Chief of police, is quite surprised when a stranded motorist in his town turns out to be a woman he has not seen in many years. Lark and Hunter dated many years ago…and even had plans to run off and get married. But…when the time came…Lark said she couldn’t go and left town. Now he is face-to-face with the woman who has always held his heart.

When Wren becomes overwhelmed at work, she leaves it to Lark and Hunter to work out the final details of the wedding. Will these two be able to move beyond their pasts and work together? And what happens if their old feelings come to the surface? Lark is a free spirit and has no intentions to settle down…can Hunter change her mind? Or are they destined to part once again?

I fell in love with this series from the first book…and each book that followed has been just as good. I devoured this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down because the characters pulled me in and I needed to know how it was going again. Another great book by Lea Nolan!

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven Book 2) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven, #2)The Girl and the Gargoyle by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book picks up where the first book left off.
Lucy has learned who her father is…survived an attack…and is trying to find her way in this new reality she finds herself a part of. Jude is forcing her to train with him in order to harness and improve her demon powers. He is also training Dylan at the same time…which is driving Lucy’s hormones crazy. She loves Marcus and can’t figure out why her mind is even thinking of Dylan that way. On top of that, a new threat has come on the scene that is forcing Marcus away from her while presenting a new enemy that she must face. When she learns the reality of what happens when a demon dies, she is determined to keep her father safe. But when she conjures up a plan that requires summoning the king of demons, will she be able to do it? Or is there another way? Because if there isn’t…then there is going to be quite a price to pay…
I enjoyed reading the story. The characters are great. The story takes so many twists and turns that it is hard to figure out who the good guys are. Every action has a part in moving the story along…and I am still left with questions that will hopefully be answered in the next book. Overall, a good book!

THE GOD (HER THREE IMMORTALS BOOK 2) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book picks up where the first book leaves off…Vanessa has been flung into the Underworld with Grey. Grey doesn’t want her there and she is not sure what to do about that. As she is navigating her new life, she finds that things are not as they seem…and there seems to be more to her than meets the eye.

She is finding there are ways to communicate with Raef and Aroz. And she is still sorting through her feelings for Grey because she shouldn’t care what he thinks…right?!? But, as strange events start happening around her, she learns that there are other things at play here…and she just might be the way to fix it. But, can she do what it takes to make her world better? Or is she destined to spend eternity in such a drab place? (You have to read it to find out)

I enjoyed reading this book. The author has a way of describing the world in such a way that you feel like you can picture it. There are still a lot of unanswered questions (like what secret is their Mother holding on to)…so I’m hoping more will be explained in the next book.

Houses of Deception (The Madeline Dawkins Mystery Series Book 6) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Houses of Deception (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 6)Houses of Deception by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those series that pulls you in at the beginning of each book and leaves you wanting them to start another case when the book ends.

This book follows two different cases with Mike and Madeline being the only connection between the two. The first is a high profile realtor couple that is throwing a lavish party one night…and the wife missing the next morning. This quickly goes from missing person to an abduction for ransom before Madeline and Mike can even get the proper authorities involved. While Madeline wants to help as much as they can…something isn’t sitting right with her.

The second case brings in a character from Madeline’s past asking for help finding their nephew. Madeline has a personal connection to this case, and wants to do whatever she can to help solve it, but nothing is adding up. That is, until one piece of information sends them on a trail that no one could have seen coming.

This book is filled with the snarky sense of humor that Madeline is known for…and the team work that Madeline and Mike are known for. This series continues to keep my interest and I am always amazed at the way the cases twist up and come to some crazy conclusion. This is one of those series that I always look forward to reading the new books when they come out!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting for part 2 to come out…and it did not disappoint!!

First…if you haven’t read part 1…start there! Part 2 picks up right where part 1 left off…and it never slows down! The cliffhanger from part 1 has Niran in a tight spot…and some quick thinking has him forming a plan. However, Saffie not knowing the plan throws a whole other wrench in the works because now she believes she has been betrayed yet again.

Once they are both at the Wolf compound, they are both fighting for their lives. But, the Satan’s Devils never leave one of their own behind. However, even then they are not out of the woods. There is so much action and drama that will keep you on your toes until the end.

Watching the San Diego and Utah chapters work together was a fun crossover from the other books that I have read. I am still not too sure about Cyn…but I’m sure there will be a future story there. I loved Saffie’s bravery and strength…and watching Niran come to terms with, and accept, that was a beautiful thing. I loved these two characters from the last book and they are probably some of my favorites in the entire series.

I can’t wait to see what Manda Mellett has in store for us next!

Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance)Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After her father dies, the happy and risk-taking Holly has become a sarcastic and play-it-safe physical therapist. She stays within her comfort zone when it comes to her life and her heart. Everything that reminds her of her father, and her life before he died, is something she tucks away deep inside her and tries not to confront. When she takes on a patient while her partner takes a leave of absence, her carefully constructed life will be challenged and her walls start coming down.

Blake is a former Olympic snowboarding champion that is coming back from a series of injuries. From a bone disease that led to a partial leg amputation and an accident that has really messed up his back, he has spent plenty of time in a physical therapist’s office. When his new PT is the woman he had a run-in with on the slopes the weekend before…he is ready to walk out before the appointment even starts. Once he gets past her tough façade…he sees a kindred spirit trying to work through the hand that life has dealt them.

I found both of these characters to be relatable. Holly and I have a similar sense of humor. But watching both of these characters face their pasts in order to move on in their future was inspiring and emotional. Understanding how one person in our lives can be tied to so many memories is a reminder to make memories when you can…while knowing that making new memories is a way of healing. I enjoyed this story!

Bad Man on Campus (Big Men on Campus Book 3) by Stephanie Queen – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Bad Man on Campus (Big Men on Campus #3)Bad Man on Campus by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Glory Rose has become a different person over the last three years. A traumatic accident brought an end to the happy girl that was in love with her high school sweetheart…and has changed her into a person that is damaged and uses alcohol as a coping mechanism. As she is getting ready to finally head off to SPU, she gets wind that Kace is back in town. She is determined to see him before they are both at the same school. Even through their shared traumatic past…there is still a spark…and they are going to see where it leads.

Once on campus, though…things start off bad and just get worse. As they try to see who they are after three years, there are situations that are testing if they will be able to actually make it work. While Glory Rose needs to get herself in order, she is also trying to make sure that Kace doesn’t throw his own future away for her. The cards are definitely stacked against them…so are they strong enough to stay solid?

This book is so much more than a second-chance sports romance. It is about two people who have to face the past and heal in order to move forward. While Glory Rose tended to stand in her own way more than once…she seemed to mature and start growing by the end of the book. I understand Kace’s need to protect her…and that led to his own kind of healing. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The Heart of Baker BayThe Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jody got fired from another job and knows she needs to find another job. She doesn’t want her sister pointing out how she can’t hold a job…Jody does enough of that to herself. When Adam calls to let the sisters know that their gran is injured and someone needs to run the shop, Jody ends up having to be the one to go handle it.

From the moment Jody arrives in town, Adam knows there is no room in his life for this high maintenance girl. But, since he is a helper, he helps Jody along the way in order to keep the shop open. As they grow closer, though, Adam sees the real Jody that she keeps hidden beneath the layers of insecurity and self-doubt. When the time comes for Jody to move back home, can he convince her to stay? Or will she return back to her sister’s to find her next job?

Jody’s self-doubt is front and stage from the first page. It was interesting to watch her grow as the book progressed and realize that sometimes her own thoughts stand in her way. I wasn’t a fan of Adam’s at the beginning because of the way he treated Jody…but he grew on me. I enjoyed reading their story. Another good book by an author I am really coming to enjoy!

The Girl and the Raven (The Girl and the Raven series) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Rosanna Ingram

The Girl and The RavenThe Girl and The Raven by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Lucy’s mother dies suddenly, her life is changed in more ways than she ever could have expected. She moves to Chicago to live with her uncles…but she notices weird things are happening around her. Why did a stranger feel like he electrocuted her at the airport? Where is her late grandmother’s bird? And how is she going to fit in at her new school? Oh….and how does she deal with the secrets being revealed by those around her? (That’s probably the most important!)

Lucy is making friends, falling for a boy, and feeling confused about another…all while she is also trying to deal with the fact that someone is after her and she can’t even trust her own father. As Lucy’s world begins to open up as secrets are told, she must fight to keep herself safe while not losing herself in the process.

This book is filled with a lot going on…and I was never sure who to really trust. In fact, I’m still not really sure. I enjoyed watching Lucy learn about herself and take ahold of it and not shy away from it. She became stronger and is finding her way in this new crazy world. Can’t wait to see what future books have in store for her!

Avenging Devil Part 1 (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan's Devils MC San DiegoAvenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This booked hooked me from the beginning and I held on til the end…and now I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

Saffie is married to the VP of a MC. She is used and abused and definitely not treated like the old ladies we have gotten to know throughout this series. When she ends up in the hospital…she is given an opportunity that she can’t refuse.

Niran is a member of the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils. He is a former Marine that has found a family in the MC. When helping out one of his brother’s women, he crosses paths with Saffie. His protector side comes out and he finds himself wanting to be her friend…because she obviously needs one!

As the truth of Saffie’s past comes out, Niran finds that he will have major hurdles to overcome just to be friends with her. As the danger gets closer, he finds himself wanting to do whatever he can to protect her…but her past is keeping her from accepting the help. When trouble is at her door…it might be too late!

Gah..this book was amazing. I found myself glued to the story because I needed to know what was going to happen. Like all the books in the series…the other members of the MC (and their spouses) all play a significant role in the story. And I have not figured out what’s up with Niran’s sister yet…but it can’t be good. I will definitely be waiting for book 2 to come out because this one ends on quite the cliffhanger!

Mr. Nice Guy (Pierce Brothers Book 1) by Belinda Williams – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Mr. Nice Guy (Pierce Brothers, #1)Mr. Nice Guy by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chelsea is attracted to bad boys…which leads to her crying over douchebags time after time. After her latest failed relationship…her crazy best friend has the idea that she should try out a good guy for once. And the only good guy she can think of is her roommate, Tom.

Tom let Chelsea move in as a favor to his best friend, who just happens to be Chelsea’s older brother. When he hears the girl’s crazy plan of a good guy trial run with Chelsea…he isn’t sure if this is the best or worst idea they have come up with. After agreeing to it, he shows Chelsea what dating a good guy looks like. But, in the span of a week, both start having (and showing) feelings that are more than just friends. Could this be the end of their friendship…or something more?

I enjoyed Chelsea and Tom’s characters. Both have stressful jobs and pasts that make real relationships hard. When they both come to terms with what they are feeling…it could be too late. Both are witty and funny and definitely enjoyable characters. I was immersed in the story from the beginning and didn’t put the book down until I was done. I am excited that this is the first in a series because I am ready to read whatever comes next!
