The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Challenger is a great age gap (if you consider 7 years an age gap 😉) romance. Flynn and Chavez have incredible chemistry. I’ll be honest that both characters did things that made me question my feelings about them, but in the end, they worked through the challenges and that they both grew as characters is my favorite part of the book. Both Flynn and Chavez are complex people and I enjoyed learning about them. This story has not only depth and intrigue, it has heat! Chavez’s ultimatum for the Australian tournament was almost as frustrating for me as it was for Flynn!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flynn is a motivational speaker returning from her book tour. Little do her fans know, there is a lot she is hiding from the world. A chance encounter with a hottie at her therapists’s office changes the course of the future she was planning out. But, when the past catches up with her, will she be able to face it and be honest…or will she run…again.

Chavez left the game of tennis at the peak of his career. He is doing his best to hide the drama going on in his family. When he meets Flynn..there are sparks. When he asks her to be his new coach as he returns to tour, he believes they are laying the foundation for a solid future. But…a life built on lies is easily crumbled. As he opens up to Flynn…she can’t seem to do the same. When the fight or flight response kicks in…will they fight for their relationship? Or is letting her run away the best for both of them?

I enjoyed these characters. They are both broken in their own ways and are trying to fix themselves. However, preaching honesty is the best policy and following that rule are two very different things. Flynn is hard-headed and strong-willed….but also scared and tired of the lies that seem to be compounding. Together these two are navigating a lot…an age-gap…two broken souls…a combustible connection that can be felt coming off the pages…a stalker…(the list goes on). It kept my attention from beginning to end. A good book!

The Challenger
By: Rowan Rossler

This is such a good book! I loved that this was about tennis. I know nothing about tennis but the author was good about including enough information that I was able to follow along and that I feel like I actually learned something (a nice added bonus). I loved Chavez. I felt like he was a really well written character who was flawed in a really believable way. He was a tennis star who quit at the height of his career. When he bumps into Flynn everything changes. In so many different ways. This book has everything: suspense, drama, romance. I definitely loved this story and recommend it!

Phenomenal character development, hands down. I enjoyed the romance and just the entire damn book. I will definitely be reading the other books to this series! ASAP.

Then also showing up with an all new coach to boot? Flynn Dryden is a self help guru that is on her way to becoming a household name through her books. These two strong willed individuals have a chance encounter that is about to send them on a rollercoatser ride of emotions. They both have skeleton in their suitcases waiting to burst out. The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga is the second book in The Hustlers Trilogy by Rowan Rossler. It follows on from book one- The Cruiser, but this story’s focus is on a different couples’ romance- each book promises to be a standalone, but with interconnected details, elements, and a few recurring characters shared within the trilogy.
Chavez was at the top of his game, making an impressive mark on the tennis world when he just up and disappeared off the scene. Flynn is a sought-after motivational speaker and professional coach who works wonders in her clients’ lives, but is weighed down by her own demons. When a chance meeting brings these two together, Chavez is making his comeback and decides he wants Flynn to be his coach and keep him on track— focused and motivated. But soon the sparks are flying, and the ‘professional’ lines become blurred. There is as much ‘action’ off the courts, as there is on…. But both have their own personal demons to deal with, so when you add in a blemished reputation, secrets, emotions, an age gap, and unresolved issues between the two, it really makes for a great read… you won’t want to miss this book as Chavez and Flynn have quite the story to tell.
This is a superb sports (tennis) romance, with a reverse age gap, opposites attract, interracial romance, chemistry, sparks, banter, intrigue, unresolved issues, suspense, angst, drama, forced proximity, taking a chance on love, overcoming challenges, and more.
The characters were developed superbly, and the story not only had an intriguing plot, but it also sizzled off the pages…. the author definitely managed to weave an unputdownable read.
Bring on Book #3!!!
Happy reading…

Thank you, Rowan Rossler!

The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Challenger was so much more than a sports romance. Was there tennis, yeah. However I feel like this was one of the subplots to the main story.
The saying is “you can’t fix what isn’t broken.” Unfortunately the two main characters the author presents in this book are extremely broken. I don’t mean physically but mentally and emotionally. Which could be a trigger for someone looking for a book to read.
I’ve read sports romances in the past, and I decided to read this one because of my husband. He’s a tennis lover, I was curious as to how this would differ from the baseball, hockey, and football ones. Well being those are team sports that’s one way. Less of a support system, however I’m glad I read it. It was pretty good.
Flynn and Chavez are two people who need to let things go, to move forward. The problem is they are both in therapy because they don’t know how. Their meeting was by chance, but continuing to communicate took effort. Neither one of them likes opening up. Neither one of them is that trusting of anyone. But for some reason they push each other in a way that brings them together. Flynn agrees to be Chavez’s tennis coach to help him rebuild career. What she does is help him discover who he wants to be. Unfortunately at the same time keeping who she is tight lipped.
So the question is when does the other shoe drop? Things aren’t perfect but they are getting by, till it all comes crumbling down.
Will they survive it?
What about Chavez’s tennis career?
Well to get those answers, I’d say it’s time to give this book a chance. I enjoy sports romances but this one has some darker undertones that are intriguing. In saying that, what are you waiting for?
Enjoy!

This was a really good book! This is the second book in a series but to me it felt like a full standalone and I do believe it can be read by itself without missing anything from the previous book. I loved the banter between the two main characters and the spice was really well done in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Rowan Rossler If you love tennis and sports romance stories, then the Challenger is your next book to read. It is the second book in The Hustlers trilogy. I really enjoyed this story. I think I need to go back and re read and revise the first book.
Rowan has written a beautiful love story that will have your emotions going haywire and pulling on your heartstrings. The characters are easy to fall in love with and have you believing in love.
The story is sexy, filled with drama, a little angst and chemistry and let’s not forget a little mayhem. Rowans descriptive writing style is good at building the anticipation in you on what’s to come.
Game, Set, and Match all in the name of love!
Looking for an escape from the real world for a little while then put this on your TBR list.

This truly was an intriguing and captivating read. Both the fantastic main characters, Chavez and Flynn, have secrets, past demons and an unbelievable chemistry with each other which all come together to keep you turning page after page. You simply have to know what’s next! This is the second book for this series and is where I started so I will definitely be going back and reading book 1 as well. The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in The Hustlers Triology. The characters are really well written. You can’t help but feel invested in their story and their romance. The author does an amazing job of giving us our character and then making them deep and realistic by evolving their backstories which make the people they are today all the more understandable and in ways relatable.
This story is about Flynn and Chavez.

Flynn is a professional coach and motivational speaker. If only her life was as positive and good as the lives she’s trying to create with her work.
Chavez is a talented tennis player who has a reputation of having a hot temper.
When a chance meeting throws them together there is no denying the attraction between them is electric.
However they are both working through their demons. Chavez has left his career, just upped and disappeared so when he plans to return he asked Flynn to join him as his coach to keep him motivated and focuses.
But how will that work out for them when their attraction becomes more and more intense. Will Flynn become even more of a distraction than a motivation? Will giving into their attraction spell trouble for Flynns already challenged mind? With both of them working through their pasts can they move forward in a positive way?
This is a great read about romance, taking a chance, fighting for what you want along with secrets which need to be revealed.

I’ve never been into tennis but really enjoyed the idea of it in this book. It had plenty to tell you about it but not too much to make you feel like you are dumb about the game. The Challenger had a good suspense plot, along with the romance and love story. There is much to follow in this story but it is very easy to read and follow.

The story of Flynn and Chavez is a bit of thrill, mystery and spicy romance. These two set of sparks that steam up the Kindle window just a little bit. They both have some emotional baggage that they need to deal with and that’s what makes this really kind of an exciting story. I enjoyed The Hustler but I think this story sure did give it a run for the money. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us with the final one in this trio.

This book was amazing!!! It has everything you could possibly want in a book and then some. It has an intriguing story line that will keep you guessing about what is going to happen, what happened to who, and the best question is can they save each other. The characters of this book have suffered throughout their life. Being a professional athlete has it tolls and other things that happen in life all compound into the very best story. The chemistry between the main characters is amazing and the banter that the author indulges the reader on is spot on. It felt as though I was there listening to these people in real life. I did cry while reading this book so please make sure you are prepared. This book was so well written that every emotion the characters felt, I felt. This is the second book in the series but you can read this book as a stand alone and be completely fine. However, if you are like me you are going to want to read the first book because of the way this book made you feel.

Chavez Delgado should come with a warning label: Caution explosive material. A volatile tennis prodigy once tipped to win majors, this wildly unpredictable fan favorite never quite lived up to all the hype. So when he leaves the tennis tour without explanation during the best year of his career, no one expects him to grind out a comeback on the second-tier Challenger circuit eight months later.

I’ve met my share of hot messes. Call it collateral damage of being Flynn Dryden—motivational guru to struggling millennials. But I have never met anyone like Chavez. Young and yummy with complications written all over him, he pushes all my right buttons. But when he asks me to join him on tour as his mental fitness coach, I say yes for all the wrong reasons.

As it turns out, we both have unresolved issues.

And playing a game called love puts us both in danger of getting burned.

I love when I start a new series and I start with the first book (I always start with the second or later somehow???)- and, sadly for me (because I NEED more!), there’s only one book in the series so far. This was a fast paced romance and I was HOOKED from beginning to end. Both of the main characters were independent and strong people and thoroughly fleshed out. I love their interactions with each other and the side characters too- it made for a more immersive experience. The story taking place in Italy?? Love it. I am obsessed with Morgan and Vandana- their chemistry is explosive. I felt ALL the emotions reading this! If you need a new romance series: check this one out ya’ll!!!

Vandana thought her life was pretty close to perfect. Gorgeous Hollywood husband, a dream job of making a ton of money, and even a fabulous home, so what could go wrong? In one conversation with her husband, Vandana’s world shattered. She does not have time to process what her life has become because she now has to deal with a high-dollar, high-demanding client. Morgan de Rohan-Chabot does not need to have a Public Relations watching his every move but when he lays eyes on Vandana, Morgan wouldn’t mind having the beauty by his side. But Morgan will be in for more than he bargained for when he propositions Vandana to follow him to Monico and help with the yacht shows.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Cruiser is a millionaire romance between Morgan de Rohan-Chabot and Vandana Hillman. Morgan is the best yacht architect in the world, but he is a bad boy who “cruises” between women. This reputation doesn’t help him when trying to land the biggest deal in his life to a prince who doesn’t appreciate his lifestyle. Morgan decides to hire a luxury PR specialist, Vandana, to control the situation and enhance his image. What neither expected was the connection they will have. Can two people living completely different lives, going through different difficulties in life work?
This was an amazing, spicy, millionaire romance. I completely loved both characters the entire book, the banter was seductive and endearing. I have read a lot of romance lately, and while it is my favorite genre, I find myself getting mad at the behaviors of the characters: too needy; too blind; too cowardly, etc. NOT THIS BOOK. The characters were honest, up front, and not over dramatic. Obviously every story will have a climax and problem, but I loved how it wasn’t over dramatic and didn’t drag on. Definitely left me wanting more!!

The Cruiser had me gripped from the first few pages. This loves some drama and it game me some right away! Vandanas husband confessed to infidelity while he was shooting his last movie (he is a movie star). She, with her PR job goes to Monaco for a client (Morgan). Why not? It’s only 10 days, it won’t be so bad. The only this is that this client is gorgeous, a playboy, and a billionaire. This book was so steamy and such a fast read because you wanted to know what was happening next! Their chemistry is full force! I can’t reveal what happens so you’ll have to read to find out and you won’t be disappointed! Monaco was never somewhere I dreamed of going but this author’s beautiful descriptions have definitely put it on my bucket list! I very much enjoyed this book and I loved the side characters as well! The Cruiser is one of few books that leaves me wanting so much more. Wanting to know what happened after the last page was read. I personally think most romance novels end pretty similar. But this one actually had me questioning all of the way and wanting to know more. I love strong characters and strong female characters I can relate to. And I can do that here. I also love the fact that the main female character is feisty. Has sass. And one of my favorite things about this book is the character development and the fact that it’s not one sided. You see the point of view (for the most part) from both Morgan and Vandana. I cannot wait for book two in hopes that it has more about this pair.

The Cruiser took a little bit to pull me in so within the first few pages I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it. My doubts were quickly obliterated and I blew through the entire book in a day. I’ll warn you now that this book will have you wanting to travel and possibly invest in a yacht!

The author writes Vandana so well that you can feel her strength and self-confidence pour off the pages without crossing the line into conceited. Yet when she meets Morgan there is this immediate vulnerability that is so believable you can’t help but experience the emotions yourself. Will she be on board to take the PR challenge head-on or will she end up in deep water?

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a page-turning romance that has drama infused in every chapter. I’m excited to grab the second book in this trilogy as soon as possible!
