The Challenger (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2) by Rowan Rossler – Review by Angela Shirley
The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Flynn Dryden is a successful author and public speaker, but she has a secret which has been causing her some anxiety and when she is in her therapist office and bumps into Chavez.
Chavez Delgado is a top athlete, but he has been having issues on the court. When he is kicked off the main ATP Cricut he starts to question his true self and can he get rid of the past that is haunting him and his game.
Once Chavez sees Flynn he instantly wants to get to know her so he puts a proposition for her to become his new Tennis Coach. Flynn has been around tennis all her life, being a child star but after a tragedy she had not picked up a racket since until Chavez walked into her world and changed everything.
Can Chavez prove he is the man for Flynn, Can Flynn put her insecurities aside and go after what she wants, and can they both resolve their pasts to be able to move into their future together.
This is the second book in this and can be read as a stand alone story, the story is well written and is a wonderful read. I loved the fiery nature of Chavez who had the grit and determination to just go after what he wanted with hungry and attack, with the passive, calming nature of Flynn balanced out the relationship. The weaving of the storylines for both of them were great to read and had you guessing and trying to uncover who the stalker was.
I loved the flow of the story and that you were drawn in as the story intense and that the subject matter was written with sensitivity and offered a loving blanket around the characters. My heart did feel for Flynn and the utter devastation her character had gone through but was happy that she overcame it and had a happily ever after. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series.
