Tom Grant is no stranger in the world of crime. In this story, Operation SweetPea shows up on James’s doorstep and forces Tom to come out of retirement. Very relevant topic of human trafficking is covered in this book and you won’t want to put it down. The writing is done is such a way that things twist and turn before a resolution takes place.

This book can be read as a stand alone but I do recommend reading previous books. I need to go back and fill in some gaps that will help make certain details much more cohesive.

If you’re looking for a book that has twists and turns that you could never predict coming, this is your book. This is my first read by this author and while this can be read as a standalone, I’m going to have to go back and pick up the first two books in the series. There is so much action, adventure, backstabbing, espionage, and drama that you won’t want to put this book down.

Isabella made a promise to her dad and it’s one that could cost her her life. However, a promise is a promise and Isabella is going to return to her homeland. That return is dangerous because there is a huge bounty on her head and she’s not entirely sure who put it there. Tom isn’t going to let her go alone because he can’t bear to be without her. What price is he willing to pay and to what lengths is he willing to go on Isabella’s behalf?

Such a great read and I’m looking forward to reading more of this author’s work!

This is book 6 in The Tom Grant Series. You can definitely read this and the others as standalones but then you would be missing out on a fantastic series. I was drawn in right from the start as with the others, the author’s writing style is wonderful. Lots of good twists and turns, drama and action to keep you going. The topic of sex trafficking is such an important topic in this world right now, and something to be aware off. All the characters are wonderfully written and well developed. I highly recommend this book.

Lost Property (The Tom Grant Series Book 6) by Samantha Adair. I love this series so much and I can’t wait for trhe next one. Although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better take on all the characters and what’s happening. Tom Grant has retired but when Operation “SweetPea” shows up at James’ door, Tom is asked to help. Two young girls, Annika and Melody are asking for help and Tom can’t resist. Samantha always seems to bring out the human side of Tom and makes him seem like a real person and not some machine. I love all the characters and the setting is written so well I felt like I was there. This is a buckle up and hold on to the edge of your seat read and you won’t want to put it down. I loved every word. Full of danger, adventure and the ugly side of human trafficking, this book will rip your heart out!

Lost Property is the sixth amazing book in The Tom Grant Novel series. You could read all the books in this series as standalones, but you are missing out on so much if you don’t read them all in order. I started in the middle and am glad I went back and started from the beginning.
I have loved each and every book in this series and the characters are like old friends now that I love catching up with them even if things don’t go right. They are all complex characters but love fiercely.
Isabella is away and poor Tom is thrown back in the world of sex trafficking when two young women turn up.
This thrilling fast-paced action-packed tale is a page turner and one that had me on the edge of my seat. I was completely engrossed and couldn’t get through it fast enough trying to find out how it all ended. I say I am addicted would be the truth.
As always there are lots of twists and turns where the suspense and tension are palpable.
Expect the unexpected. It is packed with danger and adventure and so much more.
Bring on the next book.

This story was so intriguing. Operation Sweetpea showed up at James door in the form of Annika and Melody. Tom, retired, was brought in to help. He, Iz, and the gang jumped right back in. I found this story full of adventures, drama and lots of twists. Benita is one sneaky, crazy chick. The story had me engaged right from the start. The author has a way of writing that pulls you in right from the start. The topic was relevant in today’s world and handled in way that kept things interesting and you wanted to see what happened. A great book. Fantastic characters.

Motherland (Tom Grant #3)Motherland by Samantha Adair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Motherland (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair is the third installment in the Tom Grant series, and I have to say, it can’t get more action-packed than this! First of all, I love Isabella. She is the strong female protagonist I always look for. And Tom is the genuinely great supporting guy that balances her out. To fulfill her father’s wishes, Isabella returns his ashes to his home country and action and suspense ensue. This has all the components of a great action/romance thriller, and it was hard to put down and get back to reality. I have not read the first two books in this series, but they are absolutely on my list now. This can be read by itself, but I assume it will only be better if you read them in sequence. Seriously, don’t miss out on this series. 4 out of 5 stars!

This is my first time reading this author. And I have to say that I really enjoyed it! I was drawn in from the very beginning by the characters. Even though I have not read the first 2 books in the series, I did not feel like I was missing too much. The author did a great job including some of the back story so I wasn’t completely lost.

Tom Grant was a likeable character as was Isabella/Irina. I am looking forward to reading more about them!

Motherland: A Tom Grant Novel is the third book in this series by Samantha Adair.
I would recommend that this book needs to be read after the first two books in the series. There is already so much that has happened, and lots of back story to the characters, that you will be missing out (and possibly a bit confused) if you start at book 3.

As with the other books, I still absolutely love Tom! The far-from-perfect former agent is funny, sexy, smart, and rough around the edges. I think his character, along with that of Isabella, gets better and better throughout the series.
Motherland is another fast-paced read. Honestly, it will have you on the edge of your seat wondering where the author will take you next.
There’s plenty of drama and passion, and it was over far too soon. I can’t wait to read book four.

Motherland (Tom Grant #3)Motherland by Samantha Adair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book, it had me hooked from the beginning. It was full of suspense, you really didn’t know what might be coming next.
I haven’t read other books in the series but I highly recommend that you do. This book can technically work as standalone, but I did miss out on a lot of background information and it was assumed that previous books had been read first. I am definitely going back and reading them now!
Tom Grant is an amazing character, he has his flaws, and many layers, he’s grumpy, impatient but his sarcastic responses were brilliant. I absolutely loved the conversations he had with Iz and Martha.
Iz needs to visit the Motherland to reunited her fathers Ashes with her mother. However, she defected from Russia and is wanted by many people. Tom goes with her, but it definitely doesn’t quite go to plan. What starts as a quick in and out visit, turns into a very deadly game, of death, kidnapping, lies, betrayal, heartbreak and new beginnings.
I would highly recommend this book, I really enjoyed reading it.

I give Motherland: A Tom Grant Novel (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair, 4 stars.

This book is full of suspense and action. I do admit that I have not read the previous books in the series so it took me a while to understand what was going on. That being said, once did, I could not stop reading. These two people have so much happening to them, they barely get time to take a breath. They don’t know who to trust or what to do next. But they are smart — they figure it out as they go along. The story is well written and makes you feel like you are there.

With a great cast of characters and a story that doesn’t stop with the action and surprises, this is an action book that just keeps giving.

This was my first time reading Samantha Adair and The Tom Grant Series so I knew I was probably going to be doing myself dirty a bit with jumping into a series midway through but I was intrigued and wanted to see what this was all about. I am glad that I did and look forward to seeing what the rest of the series now has in store for me. I really enjoyed the action and adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat while I picked apart the thriller and suspense mystery that was at the base of it all as I read. I was lost at times but I expected that and knew I would be doing it to myself and now know that I have a few new books to go back and enjoy. I also look forward to seeing what else we will be getting in this series in the near future. I really loved how loud the voice of the lead female character was in this novel. I feel like we could use more of these kind of women and just wanted to give a shout out to the author for that one.

This was a new author to me, and I came across the book in a search and the description pulled me in so I thought I’d give it a go. Best decision ever, this book took me on such a rollercoaster ride of emotions I lost several hours of sleep because I just had to finish.
We start off meeting Tom who seems like your average joe until Isabella comes back from a London trip without letting anyone know. They seem to fit right back together in the relationship they had before she left for London after dealing with the passing of her father. Which is where she made a promise that may just cost her more than she is willing to give.
Isabella and Tom head back to Isabella’s homeland where something isn’t quite right. Mysterious circumstances bring her once childhood friend back into her life, but he is not the same boy she knew before. He makes her go back into a life she was over that she refused to ever do again with the threat of violence against Tom.
Will they both make it out of the motherland alive and unscathed? You just have to read this page turner to find out, but it is worth the read!

This is Samantha Adair’s third book in the Tom Grant series. Motherland is the first book I have read from this author. From page one, I was laughing out loud and reading scenes to my bestie as she wanted to know what was so funny. I love Isabella, her love to her deceased father, and keeping her promise no matter what it costs her. Five days, in and out of Russia, sounds easy enough. Tom refuses to let Isabella go alone. The danger starts as soon as they get to the border. Isabella has a price on her head and her childhood friend is determined to drag her back into her old life, using Tom as leverage. This book kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole ride. I am going to have to go back to book one and catch up on what I missed.
Am glad I found this new author!! Really enjoyed this read.

Motherland is the third book in the Tom Grant series by Samantha Adair. This is the first book that I have read by Samantha Adair- so I was curious about what lay in store for me- as I enjoy exploring new books and am always on the lookout for new authors to add to my reading lists. This has a bit of a thriller vibe happening- with dramatic developments, action, adventure, mystery, and more.
I did enjoy the story, and it did read well- but I just can’t help feeling that maybe I was missing something that would have helped me connect with the characters and story more. These characters, Tom and Isabella obviously have had a bit of a complicated past history- and have ‘reunited’ again in this book for this ‘adventure’.
I wish I knew all the details of the past books; I think if I had read the previous 3 books and had all the information they contained, that would have made this reading experience so much better. I will definitely be going back to read the previous books, before continuing on with the series. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the story, so don’t let me put you off reading it at all, but I do recommend reading the previous books first to get the most out of it.
Off to one-click the previous books to read.

Thank you, Samantha Adair!

This is my first novel by Samantha Adair, and I am far from disappointed! This is my first time reading a book in the Tom Grant series, and since this is book 3 I am eager to play catch up with the other 2. There was so much depth and detail that really fueled the story.
Isabella and Tom are making a trek to her homeland to bury her father due to a promise she made at his deathbed. In a country she is no longer welcome in she encounters a great deal of complications fulfilling this promise. Together her and Tom experience a journey in the motherland that is filled with a lot of action, suspense, and heartbreak. Each chapter takes us deeper in a conquest of the unknown, and leaves you wondering if her promise can be fulfilled or will her homeland finally take her down. This is a thriller you do no want to miss.

Isabella is back in this third book in the series. Her father has died. Having promised him that she would bury him next to her mother, Isabella must return to her homeland. The only problem is that she is still a wanted woman by those that kept her prisoner before. With the help of Tom, she tries to sneak into the country. Things start going amiss when they pass through the border checkpoint.
Opinion
This book is extremely fast paced. Reunitin Tom and Isabella makes for a great chemistry, both in intimate scenes and in not so intimate scenes. Their adoration for each other pushes them on to get out.
I believe this is my favorite in the series. (Though I must confess to absolutely loving the first book.) I did not want to put this book down and was thoroughly entertained. If you have not read the first two books, you can get by without it. I am telling you though, you do not want to miss them. Go get Blood Orphan and read it first. This is a must read series for lovers of dark romances.

Samantha Adair is a new author to me and I have to go back and read the first two books in this series. Adair’s writing style is descriptive and captivating. I found myself lost in this thriller. The characters were complex and fully developed. There were many twists and turns, ups and downs, and even turned on a dime and left some change. Isabella made a promise to her father and she will not let him down. Her plans are not exactly safe but she will be burying her father in the Motherland. She finds Tom and the past comes rushing back in. She is not sure whom she can trust. Will she be successful? What dangers are waiting for her? I highly recommend this book. If you are willing, you will go on a roller coaster ride that you will not forget.

Isabella makes a promise to her dying father that she will return his ashes to his homeland, Russia. Isabella tells Tom that she must go even though this trip could have dire consequences for her. After defecting from the Organisation, she has not returned to Russia. She knows that there is a chance that she will be caught and returned to the leader.

Unfortunately for Tom and Isabella, there is a traitor who has their sights set on making quick money. Instead of a quick trip with them being undetected, the Organisation is aware of their movements from the start. While at her childhood home, Isabella runs into a former friend and neighbor. Tom’s gut says “don’t trust him”, but Isabella sees a friend.

Can they trust Isabella’s childhood friends? Will they be able to escape from Russia since the Organisation has eyes everywhere?

Motherland is a brilliantly written story filled with passion, regret, and murder. Samantha Adair has created a wonderful plot that challenges the characters as they fight against the past and present.

Its the continuing story of Isabella who has enlisted Tom’s help to get back into Russia so that she can bury her father’s ashes. It was his final wish. Since she defected several years ago its very dangerous for her to be back in Russia but she must follow thru with her dad’s wishes. When Isabella runs into a childhood friend her cover is blown and she has already stayed longer than she should. Tom will do whatever he has to in order to protect Isabella from anything and everything because he has fallen in love with her. The action in this read is red hot as is the romance! I dove into this book because I love a good mafia type romance.

Motherland surprised me as it was the first one I read in the series. I was a bit lost in the beginning of the book but it connected main ideas with what I’m guessing the previous two books were about.

The characters had some steamy sessions but I wish their initial reunion would’ve happened a bit more exciting than it did. From what I can see  the development of both main characters was mostly good. However, speaking of characters, I didn’t like the villain from the get go. I may just have expected him not to be like every other sketchy guy who usually makes their appearance in these books.

I think this was a good ending to the Tom Grant series.
