Pandora’s Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné – Review by Sara Oxton

Pandora's Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2)Pandora’s Poison by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Poison by Sacha T.Y. Fortune a five-star read that will turn you. This is the second novel in the Hart and Cole series, and I would advise you read them in order to get the most of the story as they do follow on, and understand there is a number three coming and I know I will be eagerly anticipating it as I know its going to be a great story like this one. This is a compelling series and very gritty and shows us the true side of love and relationships the darker side that most novels won’t cover. Darren and Luisa are characters that you will get so deep with that you hear them tell their story, you don’t just read something on the page. Be warned you may not always like their story, but you will be gripped it and you will love this novel.

Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Sara Oxton

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley is a five-star read that you will get deep into. This is the third novel in the Gray Ghost series, and I have read the series and I have read them all in order and would say that is the best way to read it as you get the whole drama and the world. Hannah Miller is a character that will stay with you, her story is sublime, she has a strength that will astound you, and a softer side that will chill you. This story is so much more than you imagine, there is romance and drama and also some crazy ideas that will throw you about, spies and stolen ideas and twists galore will keep you hooked, add in some back and forth in time and this could get confusing but some how the author manages to keep it all together. This was by my account the best novel of the series, it just had an extra something that I enjoyed.

Best Foot Forward (The Liberty Lawrence Series Book 1) by Bea Stevens – Review by Sara Oxton

Best Foot ForwardBest Foot Forward by Bea Stevens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Best Food Forward by Bea Stevens a four-star read that will surprise you. This is the first book in the Liberty Lawrence series, and what a charming and funny start to what I am sure will be a great series. Tis was a good whodunit but to add the twist Libby knows who’s donnit she just can’t prove it, it’s just the hunky detective that throws a spanner in the works and when a man is as hunky as detective Harper you sometimes can’t help your heart. There are so many funny moments in this story, be warned you ma leak while reading.

A Talent for Trouble (Bad Boys of Space, #1)A Talent for Trouble by Landra Graf
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Talent for Trouble by Landra Graf a four-star read that won’t give you trouble. It’s the first novel in the Bad boys of space books and I am anticipating the next will be just as good if not better. Toni Smith is a great character, one you will adore from the very first page. The rest of the characters are great but there was something about her that just shone out, much like a bright star in the sky’s. This was a great adventure and the seat of your pants anticipation will keep you hooked.

The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry – Review by Sara Oxton

The Shape of Trust (Stand By Me, #5)The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry is a four-star read that will shape your mind. This is the fifth novel in the Stand By Me series, but can be read as a stand-alone.  I have read a couple of them, but they are all great stories and enjoyable in their own right. This was a good story as Lily was such a well rounded character with flaws that will make you fall in love with her. She is quirky but fun. Add in some other amazing characters and you have the makings of a great story, there were a couple of wobbles, but they were still good overall.

Caught in Cross SeasCaught in Cross Seas by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caught in Cross Seas by Sharleen Scott a four-star read that will want to run to. This is the first novel in the Caught series and shows how great this series is. This could be too much of a story as there is so much going on with the story and lots of different sub plots, but somehow the author manages to keep it all together and keeps you hooked in to the twists and turns. Clay Masterson and Harlie Cates have a darkness that they are running from, but will they get to run to the light? Each has a different darkness but sometimes you find a common strength in the dark. I can’t wait to read the second novel in this series.

Full Glasses and Burju ShoesFull Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Full glasses and Burju shoes by Blake Blessing is a four-star read that will fill you. Emil was a great character, he has a strength to him that shone under the surface, he has a story that will show you that even when you are broken, you can still move forward. It gives great depth to showing us how hard it is to come home a different person, the difficulties faced. Perrin was someone who I liked immensely and mostly adored but had some difficulties with at times. This truly is a novel that will stay with you, it shows you all of the different facets of trust, the best and the worst, it’s a compelling and heartfelt story.

An Italian Adventure (The Italian Saga, #1)An Italian Adventure by Gaia B. Amman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An Italian Adventure by Gaia B Amman an adventure of a four-star read. This was an enjoyable read and it will entertain you no end, the stories and excitement of the childish fun will keep you captivated. This was so much funnier than I expected, and I really didn’t know what to expect but I enjoyed it so much. It really is worth taking the chance on this novel, I can’t wait to find out more in this saga.

A Christmas WishA Christmas Wish by Engy Neville
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Christmas Wish by Engy Neville a four-star read that you will want to wish upon. What a complex and inspiring story, Amy the main character won’t be to everyone’s taste she is self-centred but as you read and see her story, I felt more and more for her, I started thinking maybe she has the right to be self-centred and withdrawn but don’t we all at times. The author could have done with a bit more balance but overall, I enjoyed it, the descriptions were well done, and they made me smile so hard at some of them.

Finding Juniper (Smoke Series Book 3) by Sadia Ash – Review by Sara Oxton

Finding JuniperFinding Juniper by Sadia Ash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Juniper by Sadia Ash a five-star conclusion. This is book three in the smoke series and you do need to have read the first parts of the story to get the full benefit. My only issue with this is that it could have done with being at least 50 pages shorter, there were a couple of spots that we could have done without, but I am sure lots of people will like the length. The story is gripping, the will they wont they should be done by now, I should be thinking really, just get it together or kill each other that’s what I’m normally like with this type of story, but it was great. You feel their pain and understand so much deeper what’s holding them back, particularly Kyle his story was sublime it’s not the easiest but when you get used to his voice you will feel like you’ve been sucker punched by emotion.

Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4)Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Building Storm by Gwyn McNamee a Squall of a five-star read. This is the forth novel in the Hawke Family series and they are best when read in order, they each have such powerful and gripping story lines, I do think that Building Storm may just be the best, after I had read the previous novels and loved them and I feel that getting to know Storm and watch her story develop just made this one so much stronger and more compelling. I don’t want to say too much as I would hate to give spoilers as there are a few points that you will feel like the rugs been pulled from under you and you will just adore it!! I love how Gwyn McNamee brings the city of New Orleans to life in the pages almost like another character along with the buildings and the description they will blow you away, the passion and drama written between the pages are simply sublime, if you haven’t read this series then you need to go buy them all, it’s such a powerful series that you can’t miss.

PLAYER (21st Century Courtesan Book 1) by Pamela Dumond – Review by Sara Oxton

Player (21st Century Courtesan #1)Player by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Player by Pamela DuMond a royal flush of a five-star read. This is the first novel in the 21st Century Courtesan series and my first from this author and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into book 2. I don’t know hat I loved most about this one, it was all so sublime. There was love and drama as well as a darkness that will thrill you. This is one of those reads that you will read the surface and then pick up the undercurrents and they will grip you so hard, sometimes that can get a little confusing for me, but this author has a way with words that just flows so well you can keep up with it all. I don’t know if it was Evie as a character that helped me kept me so hooked or just the storyline. This is one of the first reads for this year and I suspect it’s going to be one of the best.

Heart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance HeroesHeart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance Heroes by Nicole Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Heart of a Hunk is a collection of hunks you need to check out!! I am giving this a five-star rating even though not all of them are five-star reads as there were a couple of standout reads that just meant I couldn’t rate any lesser than a five. It should be confusing as there are 25 authors each telling a different story and including different characters, the hunks are just sublime and there is something for everyone, no matter the genre you read you will find one. Tamara Ferguson and her story Kiss under a Blue Moon, will steal your heart and may never let you have it back. It will warm even the coldest of hearts, especially when it makes you think of Christmas and a love you may have let go of. The other stand out for me was Allyson R Abbott whom I have read before and enjoyed but this time Foxxy’s Christmas blew me away, the best read by this author I’ve read, the chemistry that was written between these pages creates a thermonuclear reaction is so powerful.

Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser – Review by Sara Oxton

UntrainableUntrainable by Jamie Schlosser
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser a five-star read that will make you purr. What a fun read, ‘Theo-Dog’ Legend was so much fun to read, he was such a surprise to read as his first impression wasn’t a good one, but that’s what made the story so good and honest. He needs the TV show to show everyone how he can behave with some good treats like a good boy should. Hadley Holiday is Americas sweetheart and with the help of her side kick Matilda she will be able to show the world you can teach an old dog new tricks and giving us a great story along the way. So long as the treats keep coming so will the good behaviour wont it? Buy the novel and find out, you won’t be disappointed Jamie Schlosser is a great author who brings us story’s that make you smile as well as blush.

Souls Collide: Collide Series Book 3 by Kristina Beck – Review by Sara Oxton

Souls Collide (Collide Series #3)Souls Collide by Kristina Beck
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Souls Collide by Kristina Beck a four-star read that will strike you. This is the third novel in the Collide series and they can be read as stand alone as I started this one and was a few chapters in before I realised it was a series, I think each one focuses on a different set of characters and Alexa and Kent are sublime characters, I will eventually go back to read the first two and I have added them to my TBR pile as I like the style of writing, the way the story unfolded was natural and honest, it wasn’t rushed, if I had maybe read the series in order I would have given five stars and when I go back and re-read I will have to adjust. Kent was great, he was one thing at first but the more you read the more you know and understand him and know what a true hero he was.

Hope’s Defeat by Angela McPherson a five-star read that will tell you the story. This is Fated book three, and each one builds on the last and grows the story. This one was the most intense of all three, as it brings us the conclusion. Trinity has blossomed as I’ve read her story, it will keep you in suspense and have your jaw dropping with wonder. There was something about Trinity that kept me reading, she has great qualities and really shows us what a great writer that Angela McPherson is.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Something series by Aubrey Bondurant filled with five-star reads. This is the box set of books 1-3 and each story is just more compelling than the last, I had previously read these books, picking them up now and again between other books, I enjoyed them but reading them all together as a box set just seemed to pull me in so much more that as individual books, each book reveals a different story about different people but all in the same world they complement each other well.

Claiming Her Mates: Book One: (A paranormal shifter romance series) by Dia Cole – Review by Sara Oxton

Claiming Her Mates (Claiming Her Mates #1)Claiming Her Mates by Dia Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Claiming her Mates by Dia Cole a four-star read you will want to claim. This is the first novel in the Claiming her Mate’s series and it’s a paranormal shifter romance, not everyone likes the genre, but this is a very well-done example. What a story, there is drama and steam a plenty, what made it even more powerful is Vana, she could have been swallowed up by the three powerful male characters, but she isn’t, she stands toe to toe. The chemistry between the four is page melting and we hear from each of them, that just makes the story so much clearer. There was something missing overall, but I am sure that the next novel in the series will give us that little extra as we will have more of a grounding, bring on number two.

Beats of the HeartBeats of the Heart by Charli B. Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beats of the Heart by Charli B. Rose is a four-star read that shows promise. I would have loved to have given this story five-stars and if it was all as good as the last half I so would, it took me a long time to get into as I kept feeling like I was missing something, like a prologue about how they got together would have been great. I know the blurb explained it, but I couldn’t help but feel like I could have done with it. The author had a great way with words and descriptive qualities so much so that I could almost smell the kaleidoscope roses and hear as Dawson was singing my song in bed. Notes of the Heart can’t come quickly enough, as I am sure that it will be a compelling read, this one was so great if only for the start it could have been one of the best reads of the year.

Leaving Jackson Wolf by P.A. Kane a four-star read you won’t want to leave. This was a powerful and great story, but there was just something I couldn’t put my finger on that stopped me giving five-stars. The coming of age aspect and power that shines through this story are great, Jackson Wolf and James McDougal both show us a different aspect of life today, the struggles they face will astound you. The storytelling is second to none, the author has such a great flow and will surprise you no end.

The Moon in Her Eyes by Nikki Broadwell a fabulous four-star read. I have read this author previously and thoroughly enjoyed her work so was so excited to get my hands on this, I must admit I didn’t realise this was book two, and I will go back and read book one, but I didn’t feel like I missed anything, the story was full and detailed. The story is fast paced and the plot was detailed but not overly flowery, you felt like part of the story and your heart would race as you get so sucked into the story you can’t put it down.

Reckless: Anthology four- amazing five-star reads. I have read two of the authors before and adored reading them again, it made me want to pick them back up and go back though their novels again, the other two I enjoyed but not quite as much. I know that in these story’s you will find at least one that will be worth the price of the anthology for you, probably more if I’m honest. For me the stand out story was Mika Jolie Layla’s Chance, it could be as I’m a sucker for a music story line, or it could just be the writing.

The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart a five-star read. This is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series, I have read the series in order and loved it, this one just made me giggle so much harder though. I kept promising myself just one more chapter when I finished and was so tired, I desperately needed to sleep, but then I would read the chapter titles and be like how can I put this down they intrigued me. Brett was so sweet, and just goes to show that a true gent is and how far they can go. Liv will make you smile and pull your hair out, then be smiling again. The Only Series by Bree Kraemer five fulfilling five-star reads. What a great series, I have loved this boxed set, I am a huge fan of the author so when I saw this on sale, I had to buy it. I hadn’t started the series as I hate having to wait for the next read in the series, so this was great as even though each story is a stand-alone, they do complement each other, as each story only by his touch, only with trust, if only, only you (my personal fave) and only for love. Some of the main characters are friends and this just makes them more like people you know, Sophie was someone who I just resonated with so much, she really did earn a spot in my heart for some reason. I honestly didn’t think that Bree Kraemer could write anything better that the Cedarville series, but she may have just done it with this one.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Degrees of Power by Via Mari a five-star read that you will feel the power coming from. This is the forth novel in the Prestian series, this has been my favourite of the whole series, they just seem to go from strength to strength and become more powerful with each read, I suppose it could be as you grow more of a relationship with the characters and get to understand the story on a much deeper level. You also get to know the author’s writing and the way she works her writing, evolving the main characters and bringing them to life. Katarina and Chase have some powerful chemistry and you need to read their story and follow the ups and downs, the challenges they face, watch them get the balance and story they deserve in this great novel.

My, my, my Brad certainly is one lucky, lucky boy, even if I do find his choice of study rather complex, Electric Motors, isn’t something that I would choose, but then again if we were all the same life would be boring, and that is certainly something Brad isn’t. Climbing The Walls (Hart & Cole Book 1)Climbing The Walls by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Climbing the Walls by Sacha T.Y. Fortune a four-star read you will need to get over. This is the first novel in the Hart and Cole series and I ant wait for the rest. I think the best thing about this was showing us how hard married life can be, usually all you get to see in this type of book is the run up and then the wedding, all show and romance, not the day to day drudgery that we face in married life. Don’t get me wrong its not all doom and gloom, there is some good times as well and that’s what I liked about this, we see both sides of the relationship and how each decision affects people. That being said there is some love and passion that will burn your fingers, but there is a passion as well that you will love.
