This is book one in The View trilogy. The View From Here is a sci-fi exploration adventure filled with scenes where the main characters need to use their basic knowledge of the world. The author asks the reader at the beginning of the story what they would do if they found themselves on/in another world. This gives the reader pause for thought as the story unfolds. I found humor in the back-and-forth banter between Thomas and April. Being the curious person that I am, I would probably follow in the characters footsteps by exploring the world they found. I enjoyed the world building and adventures Thomas and April go on. If you like sci-fi adventures, this is the trilogy to read!

This is such an incredible read and an astonishing first book in The Serrulata Saga! I definitely forwent sleep because I could not put it down, and though it is not a quick read, it is worth every waking moment. The flow of this entire story was flawless.
Leora of Mae has lived with her adoptive family since she was a baby, and they aren’t super thrilled to have her. She draws much unwanted attention because unlike her adopted family and the rest of the village, she is a Xanthi. Xanthi innately posses a kind of magical ability. Upon finding out her mom wants to sell her into servantry, she runs away and meets Roland. They develop a close bond and also run into Aurora and Leopold, who have a good deal of drama and untold truths of their own.
Gathering of the Four is my first book from this author and I am clamoring for more. I am taken aback by how much I loved this book. I highly recommend it to anyone!!

The story was pretty good. I read it in one sitting. The zombies in this story are exactly how I picture them in my head. Although the story was short, it was complete. It tugged at my heart strings and I could relate to the main character. At the end of the day all that matters is protecting and taking care of my family. How far would you go and what would you do to take care of you kid?

This was a great start to the series! Definitely an interesting plot with just as captivating characters. Leora and Aurora grow so much in the story. This story has it all! You’ve got your strong characters with action throughout to keep you turning pages. It definitely ends on a cliffhanger making you want to jump right in to the second book! I also really enjoyed the authors writing style and character building! I can’t wait to read more!

This was an excellent horror read! My only wish was that it was longer! I’ve read this author before and enjoyed their books but I loved their writing style with this genre. I really like the plot of the story and that not everything goes as you would expect. You could really visualize what Amy and Lila were seeing and experiencing. I didn’t expect the ending that came but it definitely was how it needed to end to make the story that much better. I really hope this author writes more horror style books! I will be reading more of their books regardless because I love the writing style!

Necrosis is a book that drew me in just from the cover art. I don’t normally read this kind of book, or watch zombie movies or shows. However, the book was brilliant. The author is amazing with graphic writing. The way she described the decaying bodies had me cringing. The book was short but was not lacking at all. The characters are wonderfully written and the imagery is off the charts. There was moment of suspense and a twisted happy ending, for some anyway. The love of a mother knows no boundaries, and I loved it. I did not see that coming! Highly recommend, and look forward to more.

From the outset, our author bespells her reader. Ms. Bennett renders a unique 44th century dystopian reality with details that appeal to a wide variety of audiences – whether your genre preference is sci-fi, dystopia, historical fiction, or anthropologic fiction.
While it takes a bit to get to the root of the historical “issues” in The Realm’s current status, Ms. Bennett’s careful dispersal of Realm history ensures that key events and socio-cultural causes are both present and not overwhelming.
In addition to being a gifted writer, Ms. Bennett is clearly an erudite historical scholar. With a deft pen & keen mind, she weaves poignant observations about 20th and 21st century life in North America into the dystopian reality of The Realm. Discerning readers will find underpinnings comparable to Dickens, Orwell, or Sinclair.
Because the saga is well written, each reader may choose whether to read for entertainment or for insight.

Leora of Mae is a young woman of nineteen and only half a year from her majority when she can decide her own future, leave the home she has grown up in and the family who has raised her since she was orphaned at a young age. The father was kind to her and didn’t treat her with the same contempt which his wife and her son, as well as the rest of the inhabitants of Mae, this is because she is Xanthi and because of this and the fact that she can wield Xancraft, she was ostracised, but when she overhears a conversation that they were going to sell her, she uses that craft and escapes, running as far and as quickly as she can because if she doesn’t the alternative is being sold into Servantry and losing her freedom, followed by her life.
Leora knows that she is breaking the Edicts of the Realm, but has no idea what that means until she is put into danger when she is found, but when she uses her Xancraft, she breaks the cardinal Edict “Every citizen knows their place”, but one good thing comes of it, she meets a fellow traveller, Roland Shallowbrook of Charm City and a member of the Thieves Road. All was well in the Amy’s world, albeit life wasn’t easy, she had her daughter and that was what mattered, the fleeting relationships with men, drugs, sadness and a slow spiral into the darkness were just that, fleeting, she still had her mothers love and support, until one day it all changed and the virus took hold. At first it was contained and there were only a few infected to start with, but as soon as it took hold, people started changing, they called it Necrosis and suddenly it was everywhere and it terrified Amy.
She knew it was a bad idea to try and get to her mother as soon as she entered the city, but she had pushed and now she was looking at her necrotic mother and freezing, just like every other time she was faced with violence, but this time, she had something to defend, this time, she had to protect her daughter and that was all that mattered. So muttering an apology, she put her mother out of her misery and escaped her childhood home before more of the infected could get to them, now they just needed to get back to the truck and get the hell out of there, but nothing is as easy as first thought.
They managed to get back to the truck, but there was also a need for supplies, so while it was quiet and infected free, Amy decides to see if there is anything to scavenge, but unfortunately, she is betrayed and this leads to confrontation and risk, especially when the infected breach the shop next to the truck and her daughter is in danger again. This time Amy is prepared to do anything to get to her and devises a plan to distract the infected so that she can get to the truck, but can she get there before the other parade of the infected get to her? Can Amy keep them both alive and escape the city before it is too late? This is a dystopian apocalyptic tale which plumbs the depths of a mothers love in ensuring the survival of her child in a world filled with danger around every corner, it pulls you in and keeps you on edge throughout, as you follow along this story which is perfect for the horror lovers out there.
I really enjoyed this book. Its a short read but it is action packed. The author does an amazing job with the characters and the story. As a reader I was completely captivated by the story. This is the story of Captian Ravenna Joyner and Dravos Trax. Captain Ravenna is a strong independent woman. She’s female in a male dominated Job but she holds her own and proves time and again she is as good as any man. When the ship containing her lover goes missing she joins the team sent out to find out what happened and bring her lover home. To do this they need the help of a prisoner to search for the ship and crew. The prisoner is a tracker called Dravos. What Dravos doesn’t realise until its too late is that Ravenna is his fated mate. When they find the ship and the crew didn’t survive Ravenna and Dravos realised that they need to work together if they have a chance of survival and as the attraction and connection between them grows will Ravenna keep denying the possibility of being Dravos’s fated mate or Will she only give in and realise when it’s too late.

Emotional roller coaster Lost for words. This book is an amazing quick read. Raw, real and riveting this book will have you going through all the emotions. Amy is a formidable character, aware of her flaws but strong regardless. The setting is an apocalyptic zombie world and had me on the edge of my seat. This is a short story but packs so much between the pages. The sacrifices were plentiful. A must read! “I’m not crying, you are!”

Necrosis is a fast read that starts interesting and never slacks off. Amy, the main character, is easy to identify with and relate to. Going through a zombie apocalypse with her 9 year old daughter, Lila, brings out several life changing decisions. Sometimes she has to make choices that may cost her direly, or hurt someone else to save themselves. This seemed like a very realistic (given the circumstances) approach, and the choices were always real-life like scenarios. Friendships and her old life falls away, and basic survival instincts kick in. This is the 1st book I have read from this author, and I loved the writing style, world building, and character arcs. I absolutely recommend this to everyone, it was not too much horror or gore, and was very easy to follow!
LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. is the second book in The Cool Thing series by Robert Rife. This second instalment is another madcap fantasy, with plenty of comedy, dark humour, suspense, mutants, monsters, mayhem, murder, adventure, action, drama, and entirely engrossing developments. As with the first book, this second book is highly original and very imaginative- Mr. Rife proves to be a fantastic storyteller and knows how to pull his readers into the story, easily able to hold their attention right through till the end. Operation Pinpoint is the first book in an exciting new series, Space Force Rejects, by Landra Graf. It is a sci-fi romance- a space adventure with plenty of action, danger, drama, intrigue, suspense, mystery, alien races, challenges, agendas, politics, violence, love, loss, humor, banter, finding love unexpectedly, and as expected from Ms. Graf, some incredible world building. I loved Ravenna and Dravos- and even though they were thrust together under uneasy circumstances, they really were perfect for each other. Both what the other needed to heal and become whole again. I really felt for what each of them experienced, and was rooting for them from the beginning. I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. Engaging dystopian adventure An unexpected intriguing read. I was hooked from page one and read late into the night. The world building was amazing and the storyline original. The reader is taken on a dystopian adventure alongside Leora, Roland, Aurora and Leopold as they navigate the Realm in order to survive. There was magic, action, a journey, and witty dialogue throughout the pages and I enjoyed every moment. I am eagerly looking forward to Book 2 of this saga.

This book was a fantastic read. It was a fast and smooth read. It followed along the typical civilization ended and a new civilization began trope but brought its own twist. I loved getting to really know the four main characters as their development and growth throughout the book was wonderfully written. Leora proved that when placed in the worst circumstances, it is all about how you overcome to be the best you can be. Roland found himself falling for the most unlikely of people and grew to be a hero instead of the thief. Aurora is proof that looks don’t simply define a person and her wit and intellect are top of the line. Finally Leopold truly funds himself against all odds and everything he has been taught and ultimately finds his inner emotions and cares for those around him. These four unlikely characters come together to help lead the next revolution. There are so many twists and turns in this book that the ending will make you wanting for more. I cannot wait for book two.

This is a very well written sci-fi novel set in post-apocalyptic times, which I just couldn’t put down. The author did an amazing job of creating an original world full of unique and complex characters. Even with the magical elements, the story had such elements of realism to it. I loved getting to see how Leora, Roland, Aurora, and Leopold all came together and seeing their character development. The story weaves through their past histories and their different secrets as they continue through their journey. It’s a fantastic story with plenty of action, magic, love, and drama. The first book does a great job of setting the stage for a great series! Definitely can’t wait to read the next book so I can see what happens next!

Operation Pinpoint is a wonderfully written Sci-Fi/Romance that is a fast paced short story but once you start reading there’s no putting it down until you’ve finished. This authors style of writing and her attention to detail along with fully developed characters make for a wonderful story. This is a story about Ravenna and Dravos , she’s on a mission to rescue her love no matter the cost and he’s on his on mission which is to find the missing Space Force Vessel. Can these two complete their missions? I don’t want to give away to much so I’ll say this I highly recommend reading this action packed short story to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I like finding new authors. This is the first book by this author I have read and although not my usual genre I was not let down. It is a book for mature audiences so be warned. I found that the author had created a very unique world and really brought the characters to life. I really felt as though I was right in the midst of the drama.
I did find some of the subject matter a little hard to read but I give credit where credit is due as even with the subject matter it was not off putting. I am more than willing to read more from this author as well as the series. I just also want to just remind every one once again that it is a mature audience book.

Such a good and thrilling read. I was very much captivated as I read. The story kept your mind very interested, and wanting more, the characters were very well written as well!
The book really had everything. I always had interested in military machinery, and its concepts. This book really expanded and amazed my mind! The book was more than just machines, it was full of intrigue, suspense, and characters that were raw as ones can get. I could not put this one down! Great read, I was very much invested, and I am so glad I got to read this, look forward to reading more by this author!

Chevalier is the first book in the War Horses series by Scott Warren. This is the first book that I have read by Mr. Warren, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. I was intrigued by the title, the interesting cover, and the blurb’s promise of a captivating plot. So I took a chance and immediately plunged in to explore. I am so glad that I took a chance on this book, because it proved to be a fantastic Mecha military sci-fi story with an action-packed storyline, war, combat, adventure, tension, danger, dramatic developments, fantastic world-creation, and even a little humour just to keep things from getting too heavy. What happens when a tank mechanic finds himself thrust from behind the lines right into the face of war? Vandal and the rest of the Chevalier’s will need to rise to the challenge to face off against seemingly overwhelming odds if they are to stand a chance of surviving. Vandal has the extra challenge of trying to learn on the fly, to competently control and operate the upright tank, something he was never trained to do before. What happens makes for an engrossing story. Looking forward to Book #2, and exploring more of Mr. Warren’s work. Happy Reading!

When I saw there was a second installment of The View From Here, I had to grab it immediately! The first book was so excellent and the second did not disappoint. At the end of the first book, I wanted more, but I couldn’t figure out how that could happen with the earthquake. When the book opens with April telling Thomas she found another entrance to the realm they visited, I was excited for the newest adventure of these two friends. It seems they are more prepared on this journey, there are some laughs and a lot of mystery into this world and the beings they are seeing. The description of everything is so excellently worded, I really truly felt I was there, the world I created in my mind was so vivid. I really can’t wait to see what happens in the third book, although I am going to be sad to see it end. This author really has a way with words.

Loved this book! I didn’t see Ravenna as an “ice bitch” at all, not like the other guys on her team always said. I saw the reverse, and saw them as being childish and arrogant. The characters are all nicely developed and the whole or universe in which they live in is a fun concept. The thought and time it took to develop these ideas blew my mind. Dravos, this poor guy has been through it, but I love how he knew he had a connection to Ravenna, and she to him, even though neither wanted to admit it at first. The adventure they go on together to save Ravenna’s lover, all they encounter and go through is very engaging. I could not put this book down, it is short, but packed with romance, adventure, double crossing and action. This book painted every scene vividly into my mind and I look forward to more, especially a story involving Bethel and Tract.

This is the first book I have ever read by Landra Graf and honestly, I had no idea what I was getting into. The cover and synopsis were interesting, giving me questions on what and how things happened. It took me about ten minutes to get hooked into the story, the world and characters made me curious how things worked. Captain Ravenna Joyner is a Space Force Special Ops commando. Dravos Trax is a Hirudian, ex Space Force member and now prisoner. And her scent calls to him and what he was foretold when he came of age on his home planet.
Going back and forth between Ravenna and Dravos’ POV this book will surprise you and keep your heart racing in anticipation of what will happen next. Ravenna’s lover Yve is scientist, and her ship went missing, determined to rescue her Ravenna weasels her way into the recovery mission, with one catch, she will have to report to her nemesis Captain Rothschild. Accepting the terms for the chance to find Yve, she goes to the Mothership prison to meet Rothschild and see the “tracker” meant to aid in the mission to find the missing ship. Dravos has been held captive for 5 horrible years as a prisoner and science test subject in the Space Force. He is more than double the average size of other males of his species thanks to the experiments. Instantly within seeing and hearing each other for the first time they both have a pull within them a desire for the other that they try to ignore. Finding the ship Yve has been murdered along with the others on her ship, two escape pods are missing with the possible murder. Though her heart mourns for Yve, she finds it increasingly harder and harder to resist Dravos. Dravos on the other hand refuses to be bonded to someone whose heart is claimed by another. To explain something, she doesn’t understand Ravenna blames the kill chip implanted in Dravos for the pheromone signature that is linking them, claims once the chip is out, he can drop the act and be free if he chooses not needing to pretend anymore to gain favor with the one holding the code.
What will happen if Dravos dies on the table getting the chip out? Will Ravenna still desire him? Will Ravenna finally accept Dravos and her feelings for him with it out? The author is incredible Operation Pinpoint is the most original thing I have ever read, her characters, her world everything. If you love something original and new with some spice this is the book for you, I can’t wait for the next book and to see where the story will go next.

This is a quick read, but it doesn’t disappoint. It starts off with action and keeps up a steady pace throughout the story. Intense, but then again, it wouldn’t be a good zombie-type story if it wasn’t. The main character, Amy, was easy to connect with right away. I can’t say too much more without spoiling it. If you like quick, intense reads, this is a great late-night story – unless you spook easily, then maybe read it during the day, lol.
I am not normally a Sci-Fi genre reader but for some reason this book called to me. To find out that Dravos believes that Ravenna is his “mate” and that she is in love with another, which is why they are on this mission is intriguing. Reading on to find out what happens in this triangle of love and lust was very much worth it. This story will keep your attention. While it is short and a quick read, it will keep you turning pages and leave you wanting more. Really good story and I will probably pick up more like it. Always try new things. You may surprise yourself and enjoy the new experience.

Sci-Fi Enemy to lovers I was apprehensive but ended up pleasantly surprised by this book. This is a hold your breath adventure interwoven with romance, betrayal and suspense. The unique world building and characterisation are well done and there is even a ‘fated’ mate storyline thrown in. I enjoyed Ravena’s character she was strong willed, courageous and has a shell around her. Davros is the ultimate sensitive and needs a strong partner by his side. This is a great start to a series and I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes Ravena and Davros’ story.

A Sci-fi fated love romantic story with loads of adventure. This story is short and sweet with plenty of chemistry between the two main characters. It’s the first time I’ve read of a space vampire, but who says vampires can’t be aliens. It works well in this story. The journey with loss and hopelessness leads to trustint one another. Ravenna has to be in the search and rescue team of Perseus. After getting Admiral Penchant to assign her to the team, he then drops the bomb that she will be under Captain Rothschild’s command. She follows the order. She has to find her love, Yve. Yve was one scientist on the missing ship and the only light in Ravenna’s life. When she arrives at the Mothership Prisoner Holding Facility, she meets up with Rothschild, Kuchi, and two other commandos. The deputies bring in a yellow-eyed Hirudan Tracker and release him. They gave the huge tracker a human prisoner, causing everyone but Ravenna to feel terrified. They give Ravenna a termination code to a chip embedded in Dravos. If Dravos becomes uncontrollable, the code would kill him. Having fed, Dravos is willing to go and Ravenna leads him to the ship. Ravenna feels odd around Dravos, and the feeling is mutual. When they find Perseus, a message comes across. Ravenna and Dravos are searching the ship. Everyone still aboard the ship is dead, including Yve. Rothschild announces he is going to blow up the ship to finally get rid of Ravenna. Dravos saves Ravenna into an escape pod despite her desperate attempt to die alongside Yve. A jolt shows that a larger ship has locked onto the pod. Is it Rothschild? Is it an enemy space alien who wants to kill or eat them?
