Five Stars

The Body Collector is the third book in the Bad Boys Of Space Series by Landra Graf. This book can be read as a standalone because this is the first book I fave read by this author. I truly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to go back and read the first two books. This Is Big Al and Loyda’s story. The chemistry between these two is out of this world. This book is full of twists and turns that had me reading long into the night, but it was worth the tiredness I felt all day today. I highly recommend this book.

HIGH FLYER (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener – Review by Erica Fish

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fast paced science fiction story. I was not familiar with Michelle Diener. Her imagery painted a beautiful picture in my mind’s eye. The story is full of action and adventure. The characters are engaging and full of zeal. There is not a dull moment with constant moving between scenes that is happening. The content is sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, and romance. Hana flys the head-of-planet around and is a challenge that she loves. Iver does not think that he did not gain the role of head-of-planet. He is up to the challenge of making the tech work with the magnetic fields on Faldien. Iver has his eyes wet on Hana but does Hana feel the same way? There is trouble coming for Iver. Will the trouble be too great for him? Will Hana help him with the danger? Can she keep running with Iver to keep them safe? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to Hana and Iver.

The Crocodile Makes No Sound (Lord Hani Mysteries #2)The Crocodile Makes No Sound by N.L. Holmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my second book by N.L. Holmes. I enjoyed reading The Crocodile Makes No Sound, A Lord Hani Mystery- an intriguing ancient Egyptian thriller. My opinion is you have to read them in order so if you haven’t read Bird in a Snare (book 1) – do that first. Lord Hani is still facing dangerous situations and doing his best to go through every investigation. Every story I’ve read from N.L. Holmes is always well written with amazing characters and storylines that always give awesome action and great stories.

The Body Collector by Landra Graf is the third book in the Bad Boys of Space series. This book can be read as a stand-alone m.
This book is a great story – it felt fun and exciting throughout. Although it was shorter than I had expected it felt like quite a lot happens in the book without it being rushed. The characters were really interesting. The relationship between them felt real and believable. This definitely helped make it even easier to connect with them and the story as a whole.
This is the only book I have read in this series but I will be making sure I go back to read the previous 2. A great book and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Verdent  String series but the books don’t need to be read in order. This is the first book i have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It is a science fiction story with a romance as well.

Hana is a very talented pilot. When it comes to flying there is no one who can do it better.

What should have been a straight forward journey with Iver the Head of the Planet all changes when they are attacked.

Finally coming to the conclusion that Iver has been betrayed by someone very close to him the pair set out to find out the reason why. Along the way their connection grows. Both parties were feeling attracted but neither made a move for fear of ruining their working relationship. Now they only have each other can they allow something to bloom or will it distract them too much?

Now they both have to fight to survive against an enermy that was once their friend.

It is a story that keeps you wanting more. And to see the characters win over all the adverserys in front of them

The Body Collector (Bad Boys of Space, #3)The Body Collector by Landra Graf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Body Collector by Landra Graf a fantastic five-star read. This is number three in the Bad Boys of Space series and it can be read as stand-alone as I have only read one of the previous two stories in the series and didn’t feel that I missed much. The chemistry in this story was great, it really came alive, there was something that kept me hooked from the first page until the last, there is so much covered in this story, and the subject matter can get deep, but the author deals with it all so well. Al and Loyda will enrapture you, they will make you feel like you are part of their story.

This sci-fi romance was action packed and fast paced. Graf really did a great job weaving this story together and putting two extremely strong characters at the helm. I enjoyed reading this story and this was one that I found I raced through without even meaning to. Really enjoyable read and one I will recommend to others.

What a fast paced read! I knew from the first chapter I was going to really enjoy this book. A bit sci fi, a bit fantasy, a bit of romance – just a very cool mix of themes and so action packed I was done before I realized I’d even really started. I didn’t know when I picked this up that it was part of a series but I reads great on its own. I look forward to going back to read the rest of the series to explore this world in greater detail. A great book and one I will gladly recommend.

The Saint of Liars (The Lucky Devil series Book 2) by Megan Mackie – Review by Lianne Probert

The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil #2)The Saint of Liars by Megan Mackie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Saint of Liars is book two in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. If you haven’t already I would recommend starting with book one.

I really enjoyed this book, having already met some of the characters in book one I found it easier to follow and, as a result, more enjoyable.
This story is jam packed from the start, and the fast pace keeps your turning pages and wanting more. The story starts back with Rune, just a few months after where book one ended. She’s having problems both magical and financial. Rune is a character that you can’t help but like and, for me, she holds the book together. Rune’s past is not a happy story and unfortunately it’s starting to catch up with her. You meet some familiar faces again in book two. Saint Benedict is back and has his own troubles. I feel for this character, but sadly I didn’t quite like him as much in book two. You also get to meet some much-needed fresh faces who help to breathe life into this story.
If you like fast-paced action-packed stories then this one is for you.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Body Collector (Bad Boys of Space Book 3) by Landra Graf is a fast-paced shorter story that Landra has done a good job with the plot and the world building as well as the characterisation. I didn’t really know what to expect as I make a habit of not reading the blurb beforehand as I like to be surprised and let me tell you surprised, I was, but in a good way. With action and mystery, drama and suspense, danger and passion and let’s not forget the oozing chemistry.

A conspiracy, a wanted woman, danger and a fight to find the real perpetrator.

The Body Collector by Landra Graf is the third book in the Bad Boys of Space series. This can be read and enjoyed as a standalone story. The story focuses on Big Al and Loyda. The two of them are in opposite parts of society but happen upon one another. Can one possibly be able to help the other? I enjoyed the characters and the space setting. It gives the story a bit of unrealness but still grounded in a futuristic reality. This story is a quick read and has action, adventure, twists, turns, and romance. There is something for almost everyone who wants to get away for a bit. I see this series as getaways from the seriousness of life. Don’t we all need that this year? I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

High Flyer (Verdant String Series #4) by Michelle Diener

The first book I’ve read by the author. This is part of the Verdant String Series, but can be read as a stand alone. If I could give it more stars I would. Diener did an amazing job.

Hana, a pilot, doesn’t want to give in to her boss, but then they’re taken down. Hana, being the flyer she is, manages to avoid being hit. The quote I chose for Hana is: “Let’s see how overgrown it is on the outside and whether we can get a runner out at all.”

Iver, head-of-planet and Hana’s boss, finally gets the girl, but it doesn’t come easy. Iver finds that he’s being hunted down because people are worried about something he plans on building. The quote I chose for Iver is: “I can’t get taken. I won’t be used as a tool for them to get off planet with that shielding device.”

Science Fantasy lovers this is your book!

The story was really well written, it had a fast pace to it – I honestly loved every minute of it. The characters Al and Loyda were really great to read about, they had so much chemistry between them. There were some great twists in the plot and this definitely helped keep my attention the whole way through. Although the story is on the shorter side there is absolutely nothing missing at all. I loved reading the book The Body Collector (Bad Boys of Space Book 3) by Landra Graf. It is a story that has action, danger, conspiracy, and romance. It had me hooked from the very beginning. The author has a wonderful way of making both the storyline and the characters come alive. It is a book that takes you on a journey into space in which you never know what is going to happen next. It had me on the edge of my seat. The story is about Alexander “Big Al” Smith and Loyda Miles. Al is a body collector who has gotten caught by Loyda. From the first time that Al sees Loyda, he finds himself intensely attracted to her. Loyda also feels the same attraction. Loyda finds herself a wanted woman. Will she be able to clear her name? Will Al help her? Who is responsible for the mass disappearances? How will Al and Loyda deal with their attraction to one another? This is a story that is fast-paced and enjoyable to read. There are romantic scenes as well as dangerous ones. Who will survive? Don’t miss out on a story that will keep you on your toes from beginning to end. You won’t be able to put it down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

High Flyer (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener is an exciting and fast paced sci-fi novel that will completely capture your attention from start to finish. This is a unique and action packed book that was even better than I had expected it to be. This is the first book that I have ready by this author and it completely surpassed the expectations I had from reading the description. I straight away knew I wanted to see how the story of Hana and Iver developed and what direction this book would take.
The overall story I found to be really exciting. This is a genre that I think has definitely been saturated so to find a book like this – that stands out so much – is rare and definitely so great to find. I was hooked by the story and really couldn’t wait to find out what was going on.
This is an amazing book and I cannot wait to see what else this author has to offer.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. One thing I enjoy about this author is her ability to pull me into the story with ease. Her story is easy to read and entertaining. This book is no different. This is a shorter story that is part of a series which I highly suggest reading all of. This author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I had no issues connecting to them and really enjoyed the journey they brought. They bring lots of action, mystery and suspense. Al black markets body parts and Loyda is an investigator and is willing to do anything to capture her culprits. What will happen when she finds herself begin accused of murder and only one person can help her prove her innocence? They are such great, strong characters that made the story for me and kept me turning pages. This is a fast paced, easy story to read which I highly recommend.

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

High Flyer is the fourth book in the Verdant String series by Michelle Diener. I didn’t realise at the time I grabbed a copy of this book that it was book four in a series. But thankfully it can be read as a standalone, with each book in the series focusing on a different set of characters.
I really loved this book- and now I am quite curious about the previous three books and whether there are any overlapping details- so I will definitely be going back and reading them as well.
This is a brilliant sci-fi romance, with some masterful world-building, great action, danger, betrayal, adventure, hidden agendas, drama, intrigue, and intensity- all choreographed into a fantastic, fast-paced thrill ride.
Hana Farwell is a seasoned pilot- a war veteran who is now assigned to fly the head-of-planet around. She takes her responsibility seriously and thrives on the challenge that would be daunting to most others. But, Hana harbours a secret that she’s been carrying ever since the war- so what happens when her secret is revealed?
Iver Sugotti is the head-of-planet on the world of Faldine, a planet with such strong magnetic fields that it makes using technology extremely difficult. But Iver doesn’t let that keep him from doing his job. Iver feels a connection to Hana, but she has made no secret to the fact that she wants to keep things purely professional between them. When a betrayal places them both in danger- they realise that they make a pretty great team- and soon feelings develop. But with relentless enemies out to get them- will they ever get a chance at a future together?
Superb!

Thank you, Michelle Diener!

I loved reading the book High Flyer (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener. It is a wonderful science fiction novel that I found hard to put down once I started it. The story has action, danger, and romance. I loved the characters of Hana and Iver. Hana is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman. She loves her work and is always up for a challenge. She is not looking for a relationship. Iver feels that he has his position by default. The one thing that he wants in his life is Hana. Does Hana have an attraction to Iver too? What will happen when they are placed in a situation where they must keep on the run to survive? Read this book to find out. This is a story that takes off from the beginning and doesn’t stop until the final page. There is never a dull moment. Hana and Iver find themselves on the run. I grew to care about what happens to Hana and Iver with each chapter that I read. They are characters that I could root for their success against those who have a selfish agenda. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come to life. I felt like I was right there with them. Don’t miss out on a story that is exciting and entertaining to read. I highly recommend it.

Flying the head-of-planet around isn’t a job for the faint of heart. Especially not on Faldine, the planet in the Verdant String whose magnetic fields actively fight against technology, bringing down the ships of the unwary or the incompetent.

Hana thrives on the challenge, though. Thrives on everything about her job. It keeps her from thinking too much about what happened to her during the war, and what she is becoming. A relationship with the head-of-planet himself, though, is more than she wants to deal with.

Iver Sugotti feels like he fell into the role of head-of-planet by default. He knows he’s good at the job, and he’s enjoying the challenge of making tech work on a planet that eats tech for breakfast, but the one thing he really wants–Hana–seems out of his reach.

His pilot has made it clear she’s not interested, and he can only respect the boundaries she’s set. But when someone wants him dead, he and Hana are plunged into an all-out race for their lives. Iver discovers those closest to him have betrayed him, but also, that his pilot is not as disinterested as she seems.

As they try to outwit their enemies, they discover they are far better together than they are apart, and that Hana really is at her best when she’s flying high.

The Lost (Saint Code Book 1) by Megan Mackie. This author definitely knows how to keep readers coming back for more. Once again I found myself completely hooked on another fantastic read. The characters are complex and relatable, each one brings something unique to the storyline and draws you further into their story world. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and the shortness doesn’t hinder the storyline in any way. I couldn’t put it down and found myself awake way late in the night because I made the mistake of starting it later. It’s a well written and nicely developed story that’s got a nice easy pace to follow with awesome characters. Four big stars and highly recommended.

I was absorbed in the characters and the world around them that i finished it in one day! I was so very intrigued by this book, and just could not put this book down! I definitely recommend this book, and i look forward to reading more of this series!

Saint Code: The Lost (Saint Code Book 1) by Megan Mackie – Review by Meg Tyrrell

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Saint Code: The Lost is the first book in the Saint Code series and the fourth book in The Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. I absolutely adore this series! I became addicted to Megan Mackie’s stories back in the first book in The Lucky Devil series and have been eagerly anticipating each new release. This story doesn’t continue the thread that began in ‘Finder of the Lucky Devil’, but seems to predate it. Instead we follow St. Augustina the cyber-spy as she (along with St. Benedict) takes on a new job after being hired by the very mysterious Orange Lady for what seems to be a routine, if not dangerous, case. Read this book to find out what happens!
