HIGH FLYER (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener – Review by Angela Hayes

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

High Flyer is the fourth book in the Verdant String series by Michelle Diener. I didn’t realise at the time I grabbed a copy of this book that it was book four in a series. But thankfully it can be read as a standalone, with each book in the series focusing on a different set of characters.
I really loved this book- and now I am quite curious about the previous three books and whether there are any overlapping details- so I will definitely be going back and reading them as well.
This is a brilliant sci-fi romance, with some masterful world-building, great action, danger, betrayal, adventure, hidden agendas, drama, intrigue, and intensity- all choreographed into a fantastic, fast-paced thrill ride.
Hana Farwell is a seasoned pilot- a war veteran who is now assigned to fly the head-of-planet around. She takes her responsibility seriously and thrives on the challenge that would be daunting to most others. But, Hana harbours a secret that she’s been carrying ever since the war- so what happens when her secret is revealed?
Iver Sugotti is the head-of-planet on the world of Faldine, a planet with such strong magnetic fields that it makes using technology extremely difficult. But Iver doesn’t let that keep him from doing his job. Iver feels a connection to Hana, but she has made no secret to the fact that she wants to keep things purely professional between them. When a betrayal places them both in danger- they realise that they make a pretty great team- and soon feelings develop. But with relentless enemies out to get them- will they ever get a chance at a future together?
Superb!

Thank you, Michelle Diener!
