Accountability (Scope of Practice Book 3) by Jessica Aiken-Hall – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

AcceptedAccepted by Lisa Wood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Accepted is the 2nd book in the Rhodes Family series by Lisa Wood. The timeline does overlap that of book 1, but you could probably start with this book and still enjoy it. This book was WAY too graphic for me, but the story behind it was very good. I really enjoyed book 1 and it ended in a cliff hanger of sorts, so I had to continue. The theme itself is for mature audiences, but it is well written. The characters are great, they all have a back story, and their chemistry is wonderful. The book’s main characters, Ava, Hunter and Thomas, are in a polygamy relationship, which I haven’t read about before, so it was new to me. But basically it is a committed closed relationship threesome. I love seeing the characters mature and work out their problems and feelings. I hope there will be a 3rd book because now I’m invested in the characters.

This is book 3 in author Jessica Aiken-Hall series of books about main character Valerie, Scope of Practice series. As in the first two books the author has done an awesome job of capturing the reader’s attention and keeping it throwout. The developing characters from book one keep going and keep your interest. I highly recommend this series.

This is the third book in the series and where we meet Valerie Williamson and her past has finally caught up with her the time.
She has seen Dr Chad Ross, who she has not seen in two decades, and she now knows it’s time for him to be held accountable for what he did to her.

Valeries secrets are getting too much for her and she is literally at her breaking point, with the people she can trust getting smaller by the day. The Lawrenceville’s serial killer, The Executioner is still on her mind, so the question that will haunt her if he will spike again?

I have really enjoyed this series and has kept me hooked right front he very beginning, the writer has really brought these characters to life. Bringing twists and turns and very unpredictable at times. Would truly recommend.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Accountability (Scope of Practice Book 3) by Jessica Aiken-Hall, is the third book in the Scope of Practice Series. It’s a well-written book with lots of introspection. I liked the story but Im not sure I like the way it ended. I’m on the fence about it. In one way it offended my sense of justice, but on the other hand, myself a victim of domestic abuse and violence, I can understand it. If you haven’t read Boundaries(Scope of Practice Book 1) or Confidentiality (Scope of Practice Book 2) you should go read those now before you start this third one. Although you can get the gist of the story with just one book it’s a much more enjoyable experience if you’ve read the first and the second one. This is a series well worth your time.

I have enjoyed this series since the beginning and this book had me completely entertained just as much as the previous two books. It is my suggestion that you read these books in order for more history on Valerie and a better understanding over all. The twists and turns in this story kept me on the edge of my seat. The author’s writing draws into the story and gets you invested in the characters. Valerie has to deal with her past and it changes a lot of things for her. This is a must read if you want to know what happens to her. This book is full of mystery, suspense, wonderful characters and unexpected outcomes. I highly recommend this book.

This is book 3 in the Scope of Practice series and its just as good as the first two.

It carries on with the story of Val and the ladies from her trauma group.
Now  Val is married to Tim and she has her son Gabe in her life with her group of friends her life seems perfect. Until one early morning phone call changes all that and turns her world upside down.

Now feeling strong enough she also decides it is now time to hold Dr Chad Ross accountable for his actions against her and feels with her support network she has the strength to now do that.

However when her support network starts to get smaller will Val stick with the original plan to get justice the normal and right way or will she be tempted to take matters into her own hands.

The book is a very emotional story which deals with historical abuse and dealing with grief. It is really well written and the action will keep you gripped all the way through.

Well folks, No surprise here another great book. The other still has it with the character buildup and easy to read flow throughout the book. She’s done a wonderful job with gripping you on to her pages and not letting you go until the end where she leaves you wanting more! I’ve enjoyed this series so far can’t wait to get my hands on another book!

Accountability is the third book in Jessica Aiken-Hall’s Scope of Practice Series. I have read them all, and they must be read in order. This cannot be a standalone. It is my favorite of the series though. It wraps everything up in a nice package with a solid ending. The story continues to focus around Val, but it branches out more to include her friends stories as well. Val is moving forward, and starting a family but needs to settle her past. Her husband and friends support her in the journey. We finally learn who the killer is (although I figured that out early on). We get to hear Norma’s story, and I think that was my favorite in the series. While I expected some of it, I was shocked to learn the full history. I think Norma needs a book of her own! Highly recommend this book, you won’t want to put it down.

The third book in this series. It is a nice conclusion to the previous two stories. I was not too much of a fan of then but I have also never been in her situation. That being said I liked that this story covered all the angles and basis. The characters were finished out nicely. Overall this is a good series that takes me down a road of suspense and murder and strange love.

Accountability is the third book in Jessica Aiken-Hall’s Scope of Practice series. I hope that it is the final book in the series and that because I would love to be able to think of Valerie finally settling into her life and driving into sunset with Tim … You have to read the series in order as each book builds upon the previous one. It is a series that you will not regret spending time with.
I have read other stories where the lead is a survival of horrible events and what I loved about this series is the way Valerie takes back her power, I love the group of women that she discovers her strength with and the lasting positive relationships that she builds. The burden she carries is heavy and the secrets she keeps weigh her down even more but at the end of the day, she has an opportunity to come to her power and fly!

Even though I had parts of the mystery figured out before the end, I enjoyed the suspense of this story. In Accountability, you finally get some answers about Norma. I can’t say too much more about it because any details could take away from the reading experience. There was one piece that totally took me by surprise and that added to the depth of the story.

When one phone call threatens everything you have built, will the past crash into the present.

Val has secrets from her childhood but one call from her therapist who happens to be her mother’s husband brings back things Val would rather keep hidden, but she knows she has to deal with them to move forward to her future.

Tim, is still part of Val’s inner circle of friends bt when he decides to look into Val and what he discovers, will their relationship be able to take the betrayal. You will have to read the third installment of this series.

I loved this series from the first story to this one, Val is a independent, strong female character who when she puts her mind to something plows straight through to achieve the goal. The story has weaved through the three books and has held your imagination with each one. I love the characters and how they compliment each other.

I recommend that you read the books in order as you then get to understand the big picture with Val and her past. This is the first books I have read by this author and will look at read more.

I have really loved reading this series, Scope of Practice, from Jessica Aiken-Hall, so I was thrilled to see book three available and scooped it right out. Accountability should probably be read after you devour the first two books in the series. This story just would not be the same in my opinion if you don’t read them all in order, and this one is so great you don’t wanna miss a thing. In this book we find Valerie set to make Dr. Chad Ross ‘accountable’ for his actions that caused her pain and struggles. She struggles a lot with trust because of her history and we see her struggle with this one the most here. I loved the slow and steady build of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat until that very last page. This one will keep you engaged with the characters and the drama and mystery! I love the way this book reads and I cannot wait to see if we and when we get more from this series or anything new from Jessica Aiken-Hall!

Having been hooked whilst reading both ‘Boundaries’ and ‘Confidentially’ the first two books in Aiken-Hall’s new series, ‘Scope of Practice’, I was looking forward to this third instalment and ‘Accountability’ did not disappoint. The storyline continues with Valerie Williamson who works at Lawrenceville Regional Hospital as a deceased patient coordinator. This novel can be read as a standalone book, however if read in order then you will have a better understanding of Valerie’s backstory. I was pleased to be back with the main character, Valerie who is such a likeable and very realistic character and one who you can relate to, and she really brings this whole series of books to life for me. As usual for the author this novel has a fast paced storyline with plenty of suspense, mystery, action, and great characters in it, all of which had me gripped from page one.
In this story Valerie Williamson Phillips’s, as she is now married to Detective Tim is about to have her world disrupted all over again. Following an early morning phone call Valerie realises that her past has finally caught up with her. Valerie knows she must hold Dr. Chad Ross accountable for what he did to her but will the Lawrenceville’s serial killer, the Executioner strike again or will she have to take action herself. Valerie has finally reached her breaking point and is finding that with all her secrets she’s trusting less and less people. She just hopes her bonds with Tim are strong enough to withstand any changes that will occur.
I liked how we see a different side of Valerie in this novel as her strength of character and relationships with others is really tested. Although the book does deal with difficult and dark issues it is dealt with honestly and with sensitivity. The narrative also has plenty of humour along with the drama. I was gripped from start to finish with this novel and found myself completely immersed in Valerie’s story, so much so I literally could not put this book down. The author is great at building the suspense throughout the storyline and the plot is full of twists that I didn’t see coming making it an unpredictable read which you just have to keep reading until the very last page. A definite five star read which I recommend.

Accountability is the third book in the Scope of Practice series by Jessica Aiken-Hall. As I have said before, this is an intriguing, thought-provoking, and suspenseful mystery crime series- each book building on the previous release with its own engrossing story that’s packed full of intrigue, mystery, emotion, and gripping drama.
If you are new to this series, I highly recommend reading the other two books before starting on this one, as knowing what happened in those two books will give you a better perspective of what has brought us to the events here as well as a lot of backstory on Valerie- which will enhance your reading experience of this instalment.
Valerie Williamson has been through quite a lot since we met her back in book one. This book sees her being tested like never before. Her past is haunting her and causing her life to spin out of control. She is going to have to face her demons if she has any chance of getting her life back on track. But to do so means laying a lot on the line.
I wonder what’s in store for us next?

Thank you, Jessica Aiken-Hall!

This book is different in that Valerie has to protect herself and let those around her help defend her life she’s built. They support each other through rough times, some more than others. As Val is working through her loss of her Gran, she finds herself finally ready to press charges against her childhood abuser.

Accountability (Scope of Practice #3) by Jessica Aiken-Hall

This book was by far the best out of the Scope of Practice Series. Jessica has really outdone herself with this one. I really hope this isn’t the last book I read by her.

Valerie, Val, has to face her past now. With the girls moving on with their lives things are different. Losing her grandmother was the start of her downfall. The quote I chose for Valerie is: “It’s well deserved. You’re my angel. You know when I tell you I love you I mean it, right?”

Tim, a cop, does something a cop should never do. He finds things out about Val that he didn’t know before. Things are great for them in life, until something happens. The quote I chose for Tim: “Yeah. It’s disgusting. I’d kill anyone who hurt my child. I can’t even imagine looking the other way.”

Jessica Aiken-Hall does it again. I will get this out of the way. This is the 3rd book in the Scope of Practice, with that being said I highly recommend reading book 1 and 2 first. With that being down and out of the way, this story is excellent. Jessica Aiken-Hall is a talented storyteller. Her plotline is engaging and full of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. The twists and turns, ups and downs, and dead stop happen throughout the story. I found myself turning the pages quickly to get through the next point in the story. I love her characters and Valerie is the bomb. She has some skeletons that come to light in one phonecall. She has trust issues and now she is finding a hard time to trust moving forward. She is having a hard time knowing what she should do about Dr. Chad Ross. Should he be accountable for his actions? Will Valerie keep things as they are right now or will there be some changes? I highly recommend this series.

Accountability is Book Three in Jessica Aiken-Hall’s Scope of Practice series. To enjoy this to the full, I would suggest reading the first two books in the series, it really helps to understand the story better and to know the characters and what they have been through.

Valerie’s story has kept me hooked since book one. She has been through so much, and in this book she realises that she needs to put the same effort in to helping herself as she does to helping others. This story, as with the others, is full of twists, turns and surprises! The book is filled with emotions as Vals strength of character is put to the test. The characters are very relatable, and after reading the first two books I was already invested in their lives and stories.
The author knows how to keep you hooked, and keeps you turning the page right to the very end. The suspense builds throughout and it’s one of those books you can’t put down without knowing what happens next!

This is the third installment of a great series by this author. I adored every book of this series as Valerie strikes us as one of the best heroines. She’s got a past that she can’t shake but she’s doing something about it from the first book of the series to this one. This book tests her life in a whole different way as she’s out to seek her own personal justice but she also finds ways to help others along the way as well. I absolutely from the first read enjoyed just how strong Valerie is but she’s got a resilient spirit that inspires anyone who reads this and the other books of this series. This has become a favorite series and one that I’ll be rereading sometime in the future. It’s twisted just enough to have me completely hooked!

I love this author’s writing style and her character building, I find myself completely invested in Valerie and that happened in book 1. She has always taken on everyone else’s problems and in her own way has always figured out how to fix them, or has had someone fixing them for her without her knowledge. You truly must read these in order to get the whole picture, there’s a lot and stories have continued throughout all 3 books which would make it impossible to not read them all in order.

They are the kind of reads you pick up and don’t put back down till you’ve finished. They are the kind of reads that twist and turn when you are least expecting them and there is absolutely no predicting anything. It seems this might be the last book, although I hope not, but was tied up and completed perfectly! Not going into any details since these books link together and would be too afraid of giving something away. I was totally shocked at some things that happened and felt so bad for Valerie in many places. I can’t imagine!

Read these all…They are amazing! I can not wait for what this author brings next!!

Valerie is back! Only this time, instead of helping others, she needs to help herself. Val’s secrets have been piling up and they are about to pull her under. She needs to find justice against those that have wronged her in the past…but does she have the strength to do it? She doesn’t know who to trust anymore and she is running out of time.
This book follows some storylines that have been around since the first book…so I highly recommend going back and reading the first two books before diving into this one. I love Val’s strength and need for justice. She is always looking out for those around her, so it’s about time she really started looking out for herself.
