I’ll See You Again: A Scottish rock star, standalone opposites-attract romance (Reigning Hearts Book 4) by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Netania Lim

I'll See You Again (Reigning Hearts, #4)I’ll See You Again by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this sweet little romance. There’s a little bit of heartbreak but there’s also music and banter. I really connected to the characters and emotions of the story. I do love a Scottish character. This ‘opposites attract’ storyline is flirty, passionate and full of chemistry, and the pacing was perfect. An easy read.

DEADLY WEAPON (Jake Wolfe Book 5) by Mark Nolan – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Deadly Weapon (Jake Wolfe #5)Deadly Weapon by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Deadly Weapon by Mark Nolan is book five of the Jake Wolfe series. Though it’s part of the series, this book can also be read as a standalone. This book is non stop action and does well at holding your attention! This book all too well can be related to real life which pulls you in even further because you think ‘what if’.

Jake and his ever faithful war dog Cody are at it again. So much happens in this book I couldn’t possibly do it justice but I’ll say, it all starts with a trip to Alaska. I’m sure when Jake planned to go fishing he had no idea what would happen next.

This book is so timely with everything happening in the world right now related to COVID. Totally relatable and definitely pulls you in!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Guard: A Soppranaturale Series: Book 2 by Ashley Pagano is an original story which is a paranormal fantasy. This intriguing story has everything to make it a fun and engaging read just like the first book in this series. Ashley has created a world that is easy to get lost in and she has given us characters and a storyline that comes to life. This story picks up from where the last one left off so you should read it first before diving in to this one.

This is the 4th book in the Reigning Hearts Series and i enjoyed it just as much as the previous books in this series. This book can be read as a standalone and i love that about this series but i liked the other books enough that i would defidently recommend reading them in order! I liked that the author was able to pull me in and and kept me interested throughout the entire book. The main characters are what made this book a great one though! They were relatable and the type of people that would be awesome to hang out with. I loved seeing where their story was headed and it honestly made me wish for a rockstar of my own lol!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this sports romance story. This is a well written story that has characters that made me feel as if I was right there with them. I had no issues connecting with them as they brought the story to life. They are well rounded which made the story easy to read and entertaining. Hunter wants nothing more than to prove that there is more to him than just ranching. Kennedy is out to prove that females can be just as strong in a male dominated world. When their worlds come crashing together, what will happen? Could one article change things for them? I enjoyed watching them grow throughout the story. They are strong and supportive and truly made great characters. I could easily imagine myself with them. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Secure Heart (Chase Security Series Book 3)Secure Heart by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book. It is the third book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as they are just as enjoyable as this one. This is a second chance romance story that is fast paced and engaging. The characters are well developed and are full of heart and soul. They bring the story to life and really made it pop. I had no problems connecting with them with each page I turned. I was pulled into the story with ease from the beginning to end. This story is about Julian and Holly. Julian is a widow and former Navy Seal and is in charge of running Chase Group in San Diego. Holly is an artist who seems to get involved with the wrong men. She also has a stalker who wants to kill her. What will happen when she hires Chase Security? Will Julian be able to protect them? This story is full of action and romance. I enjoyed their chemistry and watching them grow throughout the story. I had a hard time putting their story down and I think you will too. I highly recommend their story and this author.

Distant Heart Sounds (Nurse Morgan Series Book 1) by Kate MacInnis – Review by Kari Williams

Distant Heart SoundsDistant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Distant Heart Sounds was a pleasant surprise! I’ll be the first to admit that paranormal anything is not my normal genre. It took me a minute to get into the story, but I immediately liked the characters, especially Morgan and her co-workers/friends in the EC.

Morgan Cutler is a long time career nurse in the EC of the Good Sam hospital. She doesn’t have any family left, but has made her own family. After a very serious and life changing surgery, she has found that some aspects of her life are very different. Lucky for Morgan her friends and the new doctor on the floor are very accepting and intrigued.

I really enjoyed this novel. The writing was wonderful and the characters very fun! I am hoping there is more to come for Nurse Morgan Cutler!

I'll See You Again (Reigning Hearts, #4)I’ll See You Again by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ll See You Again is the 4th book in the Reigning Hearts series by KG Fletcher, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. Each book is it’s own story and from what I remember of the other books, I don’t think the characters overlap. This book is an opposite’s attract romance book about a Scottish rockstar and a small town wedding planner. They are complete opposites and I was happy to see them both able to pursue their dreams despite being on totally different paths when they meet. I love the theme of the book, and the characters. It is a sweet romantic, love at first sight book. There is some happy parts and some really sad parts, so be prepared with kleenex for this roller coaster ride. The book has a happily ever after, but it takes a bit to get there. I highly recommend this book, and all by KG Fletcher. Her books pull you right in and you wont want to put it down.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Perfect Outcast by Melissa O. Hansen is a YA Dystopian Sci Fi and her writing, world building and characters makes it easy to get caught up in the storyline. It is an original premise that is creative so you can imagine the worlds of mortals and immortals and what they consider beautiful or not. But what is the definition of what one person perceives as beautiful as opposed to the next person. If I found it an interesting read the YA’s will definitely like it.

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams

I don’t even know where to start with my thoughts on this book. I loved Penny and her relationship with her sisters. They seem to have an incredibly close bond which I envy. The dynamic between the four woman made me smile, even if it wasn’t the full set.

Geo melted my heart for so many reasons, I think the biggest was his relationship with his nephew who sounded like a handful and then some. He has such a soft spot for Eliot and his sister Maggie.

I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve throughout the book. And could wait to see where their next adventure led. I laughed a lot and cried just a bit.

This is my first time reading anything by Ms. Williams, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Deadly Weapon (Jake Wolfe #5) by Mark Nolan was a great 5 star read.
Once I started I couldn’t put it down, we get another great story from Jake and Cody.

Jake and Cody are working on stopping a deadly weapon from killing lots of innocent people. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next.

Will they be able to stop the weapon in time?

We get multiple POV’s which I really enjoy. We get action, mystery, adventure and so much more. There are several twists and turns that added a great element to the story. I have loved Copeland’s writing for a while and when I saw she was coming out with another “Perfect” tale I knew I had to read it. I was most definitely not disappointed. Chloe is a really fun character to read and connect to. The ever popular small town vs big city debate certainly plays a large role in this storyline. But overall it comes down to what the heart wants and who the heart wants. Copeland’s characters always have a way of sneaking in and grabbing my attention. This book will be one I will go back to enjoy many times over. Thank you so much, Ms. Copeland!

Another nail biter from Dunn! I really appreciate how she weaves suspense with romance while being respectful of both genres. Her books are written in such a way as they can be read and enjoyed as standalone. However I enjoy seeing the depth of the Chase agency and finding how each character introduced works within the ranks. Each story delves into a new characters and new situation. This book has a surprising small town feel with all sorts of unexpected drama and risk. I loved Elizabeth and felt an immediate pull to her. Valkyrie continues to impress with her ability to weave an involved storyline with complex characters and not lose track of the big picture. This continuation from book one definitely picks up where the first ended and is best appreciated if read in series order. You won’t fully appreciate the brilliance of the author’s words without book one – and brilliance is what you find in these pages. I love how Valkyrie has grounded these characters even within the fantasy/paranormal genre. Go ahead and pick up the origin story and book one when you grab this book. Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2)Secure Again by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in R.L. Dunn’s ‘Chase Security Series’, this was former Navy SEAL and CEO of Chase Security International Martin Bailey and Dr. Elizabeth Reed’s Story. High school sweethearts Martin and Elizabeth meet again when Martin (Marty) has to return home when his brother, Austin who is a Sergeant with the Silverton PD is shot in the line of duty. Elizabeth is the trauma surgeon in Silverton who treats Martin. Elizabeth notices a pattern of suspicious injuries that our occurring to prisoners at the local jail and wants to uncover what is happening. When she suspects that Austin’s injuries are also linked to the suspected prisoner abuse her and Marty work together to investigate. Whilst investigating Elizabeth and Marty find themselves in a complicated web of drugs, human trafficking, illicit porn, and prisoner abuse. As their feelings for each other are rekindled the couple find themselves in danger and they work alongside the members of Chase Security to solve the mystery before any more lives are lost.
Another exciting and action packed story by Dunn, which can be read as a standalone story or as part of the series. It’s not just a second chance at love romance but it is also a crime mystery story with plenty of suspense and drama. The storyline had me hooked from start to finish and the plot twists kept me guessing whilst the narrative made the book flow nicely. I loved the main characters, Martin and Elizabeth who were both very relatable and I enjoyed how their romance was rekindled and developed throughout the story. The book is recommended for over 18’s due to its adult content. This novel also dealt with some dark issues from drug abuse to human trafficking but it also has some lighter moments and the characters really bought the whole story together. I look forward to the next book in the series.

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fast paced science fiction story. I was not familiar with Michelle Diener. Her imagery painted a beautiful picture in my mind’s eye. The story is full of action and adventure. The characters are engaging and full of zeal. There is not a dull moment with constant moving between scenes that is happening. The content is sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, and romance. Hana flys the head-of-planet around and is a challenge that she loves. Iver does not think that he did not gain the role of head-of-planet. He is up to the challenge of making the tech work with the magnetic fields on Faldien. Iver has his eyes wet on Hana but does Hana feel the same way? There is trouble coming for Iver. Will the trouble be too great for him? Will Hana help him with the danger? Can she keep running with Iver to keep them safe? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to Hana and Iver.

Secure Desire (Chase Security Series Book 1) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Secure Desire (Chase Security Series Book 1)Secure Desire by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Desire is book one in R.L.Dunn’s new series, the ‘Chase Security Series’ and follows Ian and Kieran, the Chase brothers and their team of former Navy SEALS and other military officers. This story follows Ian and whether he and FBI agent Cassie, who specialises in stolen art get a second chance at love. Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander Ian Chase and his brother resumed control of their private security company and the rest of their international conglomerate, Chase Group, following a last brutal tour in Afghanistan. Ian and Cassie meet whilst she is undercover at a charity function but they had in fact already met six years earlier. Unfortunately the same night she met Ian was the night she experienced an awful trauma and seeing him again stirs up not only the feelings she had for him but also memories of that awful time. Meanwhile Ian also has feelings for Cassie but knows nothing of the trauma she has been through. Repressing her memories had actually kept Cassie safe but once her enemies realise she is remembering they act quickly to attempt to stop her talking. Ian has to keep Cassie safe, however she remains reluctant to share her past with him which may prevent them having a future together.
This was much more than just another second chance at romance story it was fast paced and action packed. The plot had plenty going on in it to keep me happily turning the pages and it had me hooked from page one. The storyline has drama, suspense, mystery and of course romance. The story flows nicely and the characters are well defined and relatable. I was fully immersed in the storyline and felt well connected to the main characters. I enjoyed the romance aspect between Ian and Cassie and after all they go through during the story I was hoping they would get their happy ever after. I look forward to some of the background characters getting their own stories in future books in this series.

Though the book is short, a lot happens within these pages. Drama and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author throws in a few surprises to keep you on your toes. I enjoyed everything except for the ending. It ends a bit abrupt but I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

Rescued by Valan (The Pirates of Barra: Highland Raiders) by Jennifer Siddoway – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Rescued by Valan (The Pirates of Barra: Highland Raiders, #2)Rescued by Valan by Jennifer Siddoway
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting historical romance, it had an exciting storyline with swashbuckling pirates and plenty of romance. As the newest pirate captain of Clan MacNeil, Valan sets out to prove his worth but rather than finding treasure he finds a women in need of rescuing. Lady Bridget MacKay has unhappily set sail in order to fulfil her promise of marriage when her ship is attacked by pirates. Neither Valan or Bridget can deny the instant attraction they feel for each other or ignore the chemistry. Valan must reconsider his vow of bachelorhood and Bridget must decide whether to carry on with her marriage or continue her adventures with a pirate. I loved all the diverse characters in the story from Valan and Bridget to the pirate crew. I liked how the chemistry between Valan and Bridget sizzled off the page. I found that the plot was action packed and I was hooked from page one. Due to the authors detailed descriptions I really felt immersed in the story and ‘life at sea’ was really bought to life.

The Crocodile Makes No Sound (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 2) by N.L. Holmes – Review by Meg Tyrrell

The Crocodile Makes No Sound (Lord Hani Mysteries #2)The Crocodile Makes No Sound by N.L. Holmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my second book by N.L. Holmes. I enjoyed reading The Crocodile Makes No Sound, A Lord Hani Mystery- an intriguing ancient Egyptian thriller. My opinion is you have to read them in order so if you haven’t read Bird in a Snare (book 1) – do that first. Lord Hani is still facing dangerous situations and doing his best to go through every investigation. Every story I’ve read from N.L. Holmes is always well written with amazing characters and storylines that always give awesome action and great stories.
