Raven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber – Review by Stephanie Nicole

Raven Woman's TavernRaven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Raven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber was a great short read and I’m looking forward to more from Ms. Koerber. Raven Woman’s Tavern keeps a very surreal feeling through the book leaving her readers feeling as if they are in a dreamlike state. Ms. Koerber gives us quick glimpses into most of the lives of her character and focuses more on the vivid details of her main characters, the plot, and the town. She weaves all of her characters stories together flawlessly like a spider weaving a delicate web. With just enough drama and suspense that the readers will continue flipping the pages as fast as they can read Ms. Koerber pulls her readers in hook, line, and sinker.

Unsettled Scores is the second book in the DAG Team series. It can be read as a standalone, but I feel like it would be better experienced if you’ve read the first book as some of the story line overlaps.
Good read – full of romance and suspense that will keep you interested. There are some questions that are left open so there’s room for more story line in another book.
Overall, not a bad way to spend a few hours in book land.

4 Stars!!!!

I have read a lot from this author and once again I was not let down. I really find the way that this author writes to be engaging and was totally hooked from the get go. The characters are very believable. I found them to be realistic and relatable.

I really like the chemistry between Max and Liliana to be so heated. I like the way that story plays out. I like the cloak and dagger by Max and how the romance unfolds. I like how they in a way both save each other. I cannot wait to read more from this author and this series.

Some nice romance and chemistry in the story make for good entertainment. Both stories have well-written characters. If you need a little spice, check out these stories

Return to Alpha by Wesley Britton – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Return To Alpha: A new saga beginsReturn To Alpha: A new saga begins by Wesley Britton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this story, aliens have come to alpha earth on a mission, and are greeted by people who are less than enthusiastic at their arrival. The beginning of the story is a bit slow, but it picks up about half way through. The aspects involving COVID-19 are always interesting to read about in books, and where the world went after those events made for an intriguing background to the story. The characters were fun and quirky for sure, and I was thrilled to have some romance to root for, as I am a sucker for a romance. In general, if you like sci-fi adventure, a bit of post-apocalyptic and dystopian, with just a sprinkle of romance, you should absolutely give this book a shot. Once the stage is set, the adventure really is fun to experience.

Emery’s world comes down when her father is involved with a scandal that leaves her penniless. On a stormy night, Caine and Emery bump into each other. Sparks fly!!! Caine fights for his freedom to clear his name while Emery tries to clear her fathers name. I LOVED this book!

Slow Burn (Breathing Hearts, #2)Slow Burn by A.K. MacBride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book! Maddie and Adam had incredible chemistry. I want to go read the first book in the series as well as look up Zoe’s story.

Maddie has a heart of gold and a spine of steel. She is dealing with a lot and has protected herself, but does it without putting anyone else down to do it. Adam is dealing with incredible trauma and has pushed away everyone close to him. My heart hurt so much for him, and watching him heal was awesome. I loved how Sheldon helped break through Adam’s wall – that dog was as much a main character as the other 2 :D.

Maddie’s parents made me so angry, and even knowing the reasoning, I was not as forgiving as Maddie.

Slow Burn (Breathing Hearts, #2)Slow Burn by A.K. MacBride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a beautiful love story. The author does an amazing job of making the characters believable and relatable. The story itself will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions from feeling high and on top of the world to then plunging down into the darkest depths.

Maddie and Adam both have secrets and past failings in their lives which make them the people they are today. But where Maddie tries to see the good in life Adam can only see the negative.

When Adam moved in next door to Maddie he wasn’t looking for romance or a connection. Struggling with his own demons he wanted to shut himself off from the world and never open his heart up to love again.
When Maddie meets Adam the chemistry from her is instant however Adam’s attitude and stand off and rude behaviour makes her question her attraction.
As time progresses and Maddie slowly works her way into Adam’s heart can they both overcome their pasts to build a happy future or will some demons keep them apart.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Shelly Kittell

What a delightful mystery! The characters are fantastic and each is original. I love how easy the story is to follow The narrator part is just to easy to follow. There is just the right amount of action to help keep the boys or girls enthralled. An abuse shelter for women also keeps the story realistic and down to earth. Truly a wonderful good. Highly recommend it

Slow Burn (Breathing Hearts, #2)Slow Burn by A.K. MacBride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Slow Burn is the 2nd book in the Breathing Hearts series by A. K. MacBride. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book in the series, in fact this is the first time I have read any of this author’s work, and I did not feel that I was missing any necessary information.
Slow Burn is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance that will take you on an emotional roller coaster. You may need tissues to read this book. I’ll admit to being rather teary at a few points in this book. In my mind if an author can cause this reaction then they are definitely doing something right.
I loved reading Adam and Maddie’s story. Both are not in a good place in their lives and are struggling, but for very different reasons. Let’s just say that their very first meeting is a memorable one and doesn’t show Adam in his best light. He does redeem himself and soon steals a place in your heart.
This is a really great book which had me totally engrossed from beginning to end and I would 100% recommend it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is not my first book by these authors but it is one of my favorites yet. This is a well written story about protection and the cost you are willing to pay for that. The author’s use of details made the story come to life on each page. Their creative, unique characters add to the story as being relatable and strong. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. This is a story about Vulture and Danielle. He is a born leader and also a ghost just like his brothers. She never expected to end up in a nightmare and willing to give up anything to these vampires. Problem, she has secrets that they must never find out about. As both of their lives intertwine they find themselves barely hanging on to survival. What happens next I highly recommend picking up this book. It is for sure worth the pick up. I enjoyed their chemistry and growth throughout the story. They made such great characters and I enjoyed what they brought to the story. I really enjoyed this paranormal story with hot, steamy characters. I highly recommend this book.

Fight for It by Amy L. Gale is a Sunset Cove Novella. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. Ray, after being forced to retire from boxing, returns to his hometown of Sunset Cove and buys a local bar and grill. Alyssa, Ray’s beat friend’s little sister, is a realtor and helps Ray with The Kracken. They grow closer with as much time as they are spending together but Alyssa still struggles to overcome a lot from her past. Ray thought he was done fighting but is presented with an opportunity to fight again. Will these two fight for each other?

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters were relatable. I totally want more of Ray and Alyssa’s story!!

Slow Burn (Breathing Hearts, #2)Slow Burn by A.K. MacBride
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What is there to say about Slow Burn by A.K. MacBride? Well for starters I actually didn’t like it at first. Adam’s standoffishness and Maddie’s need to bring out the best in everyone while ignoring herself hit too close to home. One could say my initial dislike was that I saw too much of myself in both characters. People never like hearing or accepting truths about themselves, but as I read on, the characters grew on me.
Adam became the guy to me who was running away to start over after the death of his wife, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred. Maddie broke inside because her family thought she was a failure because of her life choices. The main characters’ story lines were well written and beautifully displayed themselves throughout, which kept me reading. A romance in its own right, though the end was predictable, getting to that end was what kept me interested. The growth these two had individually as well as together put a smile on my face and changed my mind on how I felt.
A.K. MacBride won me over in the end, I look forward to reading other books in this series as well as outside of the by this author. I may not have loved the book but when it comes to the author I’m a huge fan!

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Lorrene Huisman

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you want a book that grips you, and doesn’t let go even though how hard you fight to get away? Then my friends, you have found the right book to read, no doubt! This quickly became a favorite for me. No lies here, the author is one of my personal favorites, she writes such good novels, I always come back for more, this one was worth the wait though for sure! It literally blew me away countless times while reading!

Where should I start? There is so much I could tell, and want to tell, but you should truly experience this book for yourself. Let me start with Liliana who is our female lead in this gripping read. She brought on her own saucy spice and made the perfect mixture for love and temptation through out this novel. She does not have an easy life being the daughter of the head of the Mafia. She is undervalued by her father through out the book, she feels she can gain respect if she does a marriage to his pleasing. Is her happiness to be sacrificed really worth to win her fathers love? Perhaps there was more unknown to the story of what she truly wants than she lets on?

I loved the character Max. He was your hot and very sexy character, that literally brought on the lust with every word he spoke. He has been assigned a job to do, and at first glance it seems to be an very easy job, but that proves otherwise into the matter. To silence the head of the Mafia is one thing, but throw in the beautiful and amazing Liliana and basically all shit can and will hit the roof!

Max and Liliana really made my kindle sweat with anticipation and chemistry, Not to forget the steam and sexiness’ these two brought when they shared a scene together they were remarkable characters in every which way and form. The suspense they had face together, plus the fact of trying to avoid not to rip each others clothes off for the greatest passion ever to be experienced, there was so much more going on aside from that as well. The book literally had me hooked all the way through.

I LOVED this book so very much! It was an amazing read from start to finish, and I am still left wanting more by the end. It was a must read, and that is certainly a true fact and n questions asked. This was so good, it had everything I needed and wanted in the novel and more. I would expect nothing less than what I got from this amazing author I have come to love and admire so much. Wonderful read truly!

This was a wonderful novel that I got to pick up and read! This was a new author for me, and the writing was more than good, and defiantly very good in the sense to keep me interested and occupied as I was reading. The characters made the story and I shall admit, the basketball parts made the book even better. love and basketball? How can I not be impressed?

The two main souls Drew and Abby, at first read of them both seemed they were two opposite to even carry a conversation. It seemed to just be physical chemistry more than anything. As I read on though, more things came to light, perhaps to dare say even in the most unexpected ways. I really enjoyed their story. Differences’ tossed into the garbage, they really had a real thing going here, and it was a good thing. They booth needed one another as much as they wanted each other

The author did a great hob writing this book, and the character development and changes, as well as the main souls amigos around them were wonderful to read. I really enjoyed it and i truly look forward to reading more by this author in the future!

This is a story that kept me guessing. I loved meeting Amy! What an amazing character! She really impresses me with her wit, knowledge and quick thinking. She is an asset to the team and her family. Hugh is just completely adorable! I wanted to hug him and run my hands through his curly locks. The sparks were between them since their first meeting and only grew as time went along.

The team are a slew of smart, quick thinking characters. I enjoyed meeting them and their special skills. I have questions that need answers about them.

This is the second book in the series but it is my first book by this author. I had no problems following along as everything is easily explained. I look forward to more.

Notebook Mysteries – Decisions and Possibilities is a brilliant YA story with a twist of the Sherlock Homes and Murdoch Mysteries vibe story with a brilliant main character and a tapestry of mysteries along the way makes this an exciting read.

Emma is a brilliant scholar and business woman with her inventions getting her recognition but with her its her hobby as a amateur sleuth which is getting more momentum and with her next adventure can she solve the crime and bring the suspect to justice.

This is the first book I have read by this author and realised this is the second book regarding this character and loved each word. I am a big crime fan and it was nice to have a easy read but full of twists and turns which has you guessing as you read and working with Emma to find the suspects. I love that this is set in the 1800’s a the backdrop adds another element to the story, Emma is spunky and full of action I love the way she is such a strong character and works hard to be the best she can in whatever she wants.

This is a great easy read story with brilliant twists and turns I love the character of Emma and love to read more in the future.

I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind. These are two short sexy stories that will make your temperature rise. I was so excited when I got this bookI stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. These characters had me hooked on these reads right from the start.

The first story is called Tequila Sunset. Cass is suffering from a hard break up. She has always had a crush on her best friend’s dad but she doesn’t want to hurt her friend. Cass is left with David, her friend’s dad all by herself. Will she get the courage to ask him what she really wants or will she be a good girl?

The second story is called Beneath the Sheets. Alex thought he had the best girl he could ever have until he catches her with one of his main clients. Slow Burn by A.K MacBride is a Romance/ Enemies to Lovers book about love, loss, and second chances. Wow just Wow I wasn’t expecting to have my heart ripped to shreds and definitely was not ready for all the emotions I experienced while reading this wonderfully written story. This is about Adam and Maddie. Adam is a grumpy yet sexy man who was in a tragic accident that caused him to close off himself from friends and his family. He moves to Clearwater Bay to get away from the looks of pity. Maddie loves to dance but her dreams of dancing are put on hold. She finds herself working for her parents at their hardware store. She is given an opportunity to to help out a local business but will she do it? These both have their issues but together can tbey work? I absolutely loved this book and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. Drew (Perfectly Independent, #1)Drew by Amanda Shelley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Drew needs to avoid distractions in lab class so he picks the most plain girl to sit by thinking she is perfect for what he needs. Abby doesn’t know what to think of him, then when she finds out he’s her lab partner she’s not really thrilled. He came across really arrogant and when people started coming up to him it was causing distractions she didn’t want or need. Abby has no idea who Drew is, which makes things a lot easier for him, less distraction. So he thought….until he starts to feel something for her.

Abby was great, I loved her forwardness and she wasn’t afraid of Drew even though he was giving her butterflies. He surprises her quickly on how committed he is to studying and doing good in lab. As she gets to know him more she starts to feel things for him.

Would Abby fit in Drew’s world? Will they both achieve their goal of medical school?

Overall I really enjoyed this book and all of the characters. Neither one of them had planned on dating but fate had other plans for them. The author does a great job with her writing. If you’re looking for a fun read about college romance you will enjoy this one. I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

Caine and Emerys chemistry and relationship overall was AMAZING. I can’t wait to read the next books. The Men of Syn and then Syn club – constantly stay at the forefront of my mind. This book was beautifully well written. The first chapter is what drew me in. You could see from her eyes the progress of what her little river was like before humans came and mucked everything up and then the sad decline and the after affects of us leaving. That chapter alone makes you stop and think about real life. We are cutting trees down at an alarming rate, are we destined to have a future like that of the book? It gets your mind going and thinking, and then it introduces the main characters of the book and takes you along for the story. Every small town is not what it seems. I loved this story so much, it’s being added to my bookshelf.
