They spoke about Zayed, the blue-skinned man. They warned us that we should be afraid of them. Fear, on the other hand, was formed of ignorance, and I recognized how wrong they were all. I had no idea that my first meeting with The Zayed would forever affect not just my perspective, but also my life. Kidnapped for what the sorcerer felt she could provide him, only to be rescued and given exactly what he was looking for. Now she had to figure out her part in all of this in order to save not just herself, but the whole Zayed Community as well.

I loved every page of it. Every chapter was lovely. I can’t wait to read more books from this author.

AntipodesAntipodes by T.S. Simons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Antipodes by T.S. Simons is an amazing book with romance. It has a thriller and even a form of dystopian. Many different kind of people can enjoy this book

Antipodes is a one-of-a-kind piece of fiction set in post-apocalyptic Australia today. Antipodes focuses on the qualities contemporary society lacks sustainability, inclusivity, community, and friendship and is aimed at young adults who are disillusioned with our world and worried for our planet’s ecological destiny. Cam Mackintosh is in his last year of a science degree at Melbourne University when he is offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help construct a fully sustainable society on an island off the coast of Australia after a devastating epidemic. The community is given a blank slate, a brand-new eco-village, shielded from the outer world yet equipped with much of today’s knowledge and technology. August Island’s community thrives and is built on current principles such as gender equality and cultural acceptance.

I loved every page of it. Every chapter was thrilling. I can’t wait to read more books from this author. Readers who appreciate Margaret Atwood’s environmental fiction, such as Oryx and Crake, or work by Piers Torday, Frank Cottrell Boyce, and Sarah Crossan’s Breathe, will love this book.

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a romance connecting through music. There is so much in this story to love.

Quinn Winter is sick of being the actress with the most dead-end roles. She’s making a much-needed shift in her life after discovering her love of music while playing a country singer on a daytime soap opera. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and aspirations that come with becoming a successful musician in Music City. Her sister’s begging call places her in an all-too-familiar, but an unwelcome situation. Tucker auditioned for a reality singing competition five years ago, never intending to win. His sudden celebrity and success come as a complete shock. His second album is suffering from the dreaded sophomore jinx, despite a platinum debut. When he is plagued with guilt over an accident that affects his family, his artistic muse becomes inaccessible. Quinn astounds him when he overhears her audition singing his song.

An attraction develops, and a musical link is created. When life gets in the way, Tucker comes up with a new plan. A temporary union that will support them both before things get too real. Two souls destined, two hearts blending to make beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music’s next power pair- if they can let go of their past selves.

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi #1)Evil Sushi by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Evil Sushi by C.A. King is a story of paranormal suspense. It is an amazing thriller that I loved to read. I loved the original story that this came to be.

They aren’t zombies, by the way. They aren’t the undead in any way. They’re not like the rest. Just when you felt it was safe to go back for seconds, something unexpected happens. Evil Sushi flips the script, reintroducing beef to the menu. Two down-on-their-luck East Coast fishermen make a once-in-a-lifetime discovery that could end world hunger for good. They find themselves hurriedly embarking on a mission to change the lives of people all over the world. There’s no denying that their discovery has an impact, but not in the way they had hoped. Is Evil Sushi a fictional book, the ravings of a maniac, or a prophecy that’s the true question?

I loved every page of it and was definitely not ready for the book to end. It brought me into their world and I enjoyed every second of it. I can’t wait to read book number two.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett- Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection, #1)Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a book full of mystery and paranormal. The lines between life and death seem to blur.

Scott used to be a fairly average person before he died. For a short period, he was able to see ghosts. He sees her for the first time in a graveyard, dressed in a bloodstained wedding gown. No one else is aware of her presence. He seems to be at a loss about how to assist her. A ghost stuck in her version of hell with no memory of her life or death is the one that makes him feel alive for the first time in eons. It almost sounds like the beginning of a horror story. Zelda is an amnesiac ghost bride who has no recollection of her life or death One person can only see her. Scott is her only hope of unlocking her memories since she has no idea who she is or how she got into this condition.

This book has a little of everything. I enjoyed every last chapter. I can’t wait to continue reading the series.

Red’s tangled tale (The Untold Stories Book 2) by Suzanna Lynn- Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Red's Tangled Tale (The Untold Stories, #2)Red’s Tangled Tale by Suzanna Lynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Red’s tangled tale (The Untold Stories Book 2) by Suzanna Lynn is a story full of fiction and adventure. It is a retelling of red riding hood and the big bad wolf. This is an interesting take of showing the red riding hood’s real colors.

Only the little girl who hunts him is more terrifying than the Big Bad Wolf. The story of Little Red Riding Hood is well-known. At least, that’s what they believe. Many people think Red was a cute little girl who carried candy to her grandmother in the woods at night. History was incorrect. Red’s father was the only person brave enough to join Blakx Forest after the wolves’ curse struck Timbergard. When his father was killed by wolves, his young daughter took up his bow and started killing the beasts to fulfill her need for vengeance. When a pack of wolves corners the party, the journey through the forest becomes perilous. Red is forced to choose that will affect everyone’s lives, including those she has yet to meet.

This was a lovely retelling. You get to see a side of character you never imagined before, and I loved every page of it. This is book two, and I would love to read more of this collection.

Nothing seems to change after she breaks up with her ex-boyfriend he becomes a stalker and her life that much more complicated. Xander might or might not be able to fix everything wrong in her life.

The unknown and the thriller excited me in every chapter. The love story that blossoms in the book drove my desire to finish it that much quicker. Putting the book down was near impossible.

This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read the second book in the series.

Crave (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Crave (Clark Family Series Book 1)Crave by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Crave: An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola is a book full of romance and humor. The romance is intense while the comedy can’t be help but put a smile on your face.

Sandra and Jake meet unexpectedly at a party. The drama she promised herself never to get involved in chooses to walk away hoping never to see him again. Jake up for chase will chase her down to the end of the earth to make her his. He has a hard past but that won’t stop him from getting what he wants. Sandra wants him but won’t admit it

This is the first book in the series and there are two more. I can’t wait to read them. I couldn’t get enough of the romance and passion. When I first started the book it took me by surprise I didn’t want to put it down.
