City of Whispers (Imperial Assassin Series Book 1) by Katt Powers – Review by Shadel Ayerbe
City of Whispers by Katt Powers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
City of Whispers: Imperial Assassin Book 1 by Katt Powers is full of fantasy and adventure. The action-packed story leaves you wanting more.
A tainted gunman. A nefarious plot. Would her one chance at salvation lead to her death? Dhani Karim is outraged. The snarky killer is pushed into a lowly unranked spot in a remote desert colony, working with a guy who’s damaged goods after being wrongfully expelled from the Imperial Assassins. When they barely avoid an assault on what should have been a routine mission, she worries that clearing her name would cost her her life. When she receives a death threat and her unwelcome partner vanishes, she’s struggling to negotiate a land where she’s the only one who can’t use spells. When the clues lead to a violent cult, Dhani finds herself in a race against time to prevent a massacre that will claim the lives of innocent people.
Every page was exciting, and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique story. The story really transports you into their world. I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait for book two.
