My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this is the fourth installment in this series it is just as incredible as the previous three. This investigative, intriguing, historical crime series has grabbed my attention from the beginning and I simply can’t put them down. This author really knows how to pull her readers in and keep them guessing until the very end. While this book could be read as a stand alone they are all so incredible that I recommend reading all of them so you can get the most from her wonderful characters and beautifully woven plots. Her characters are perfect, her plot Is woven almost like an intricate spider web and she’ll leave you with your head spinning trying to figure out this complex murder mystery. So if your looking for a great book to pick up this weekend, then pick this one up today.

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders #1)Tomb for an Eagle by Lexie Conyngham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this is a brand new author to me this is one of the most fascinating books that I have read this year. But this thrilling new mystery series isn’t any normal series its all based around vikings, how exciting does that sound? While the plot was facinating, the characters where phenomenal, I did find myself occasionally mixing up the characters as so many of them had similar names. But overall this writer did an incredible job. Our main character comes back after a long disappearance only to suddenly find himself surrounded by murders. But what happens when he suffers wounds while trying to solve these murders? Will he survive and figure out who is behind all of these murders? You’ll have to read this mystery to find out for yourself.

Shake Loose the Border (Thunder On The Moor Book 3)Shake Loose the Border by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this is the third installment to this series, I honestly have to say that it is by far the most emotional. The feelings between our main characters and thr drama go so deep that it was really a powerful read until the very last page. There was just so much realism in this installment that you find yourself right along side Will and Maggie, and enduring all the pain, agony, and more they they endure. While the flow was beautiful it really was full of twists and turns and you never knew from one page to the next what would happen next. So definitely go pick up this trilogy and binge read it immediately.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this is the second book in this series I personally think it’s even better then the first. This second installment is full of so much romance, drama, adventure, betrayal, tragedy and so much more that our author really pulls us so much deeper this time. After reading the first installment in this series I couldn’t wait to read this one. I really do recommend readying all of these in order just to get all of the details on our main characters. While I really thought that Will and Maggie would get a break in this book, there was just as much danger and drama in this book and they were really put through the ringer. So if your looking for a historical romance to read this weekend, pick up this series today.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While this book was full of so many different things I really love the way that the plot ebed and flowed. This writer gave us an incredible well developed story, with fantastic characters, and she really just does a fantastic job of pulling you right in. This book is full of time travel, excitement, enchantment, romance and so much more I just simply couldn’t put it down. With the time travel our heroine has a lot of new things that she has to adjust to, and the descriptions make you feel like your right there with her. But I found myself wondering if I would be able to adjust to everything that she had to adjust to. So if your looking for a great new historical romance with some time travel thrown in, then I highly recommend this one.

While I am not usually a Sci-Fi reader I thought that this sci-fi romance might change my mind and boy was I right. While I have not read the previous installments in this series it can be read as a stand alone but I do plan to read the previous four. This book was full of multiple Pov’s, two broken hearts, old wounds, slavery, shapeshifters and more it really pulled me in from the beginning and kept me turning the pages. This is the first book that I have read by this author but it will not be my last. This book was also full of suspense, mystery, and adventure, and this author weaves a beautiful story full of fantastic characters and a wonderful plot. So if you like Sci-fi or your looking for a new genre to try, I highly recommend this story.

This book is possibly one of the best paranormal romances that I have ever read. While this is book six in the series if you haven’t read the previous books, you can moat certainly read this one as a stand alone. This paranormal romance is fun, sexy, and humorous. The plot and the characters are phenomenal, and the word building is increidble. Will there be perfect chemistry? You’ll have to read this increible paranormal romance to find out for yourself.

The TravelerThe Traveler by Deborah Dugan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While I will admit that I am not normally a Sci-Fi reader this author definitely changed my mind with this book. Our author really knows how to grab ahold of her reader in the beginning and keep them on the edge of their seats while she takes them on a wild ride. The ebb and flow of this book and its plots were both equally beautiful and I loved all of the characters. But more then loving the characters I love how she takes us almost behind the scenes and really let’s us see what makes each character who they are. This story really has it all from the power of friendship, trust, survival and so much more I just simply couldn’t put it down. So if the beautiful cover and the blurb aren’t enough to make you read this amazing story, then I also highly recommend you pick up a copy today.

Full of drama, deception, secrets, and a woman who just wants to put her life back together, this book was just full of twists and turns. Lizbeth is facing her worst nightmare, and the secrets that follow it could be her undoing. Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream (Rebecca Steele Series #2)Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream by Joanne Patterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While the this is the second installment to this series, it is just as good as the first. Before this series I had never read anything by this author before but I will definitely be looking into more of this authors work. Their word building is fantastic, the characters are wonderful, and the overall plot and storyline flowed together beautifully. This book was overall a fun, sweet romance, that puts you right in the middle of Becky’s life. Becky is energetic, spirited, loving, and loyal to those closest to her. Meanwhile Chance is a hardworking, sweet, and sexy cowboy who would do anything to make Becky happy. While this book is on the shorter side, and I believe there were scenes that could have been more descriptive. But overall this book was perfect for the short western romance that it was.

While I had read the previous two installments to this series, this particular installment really drew me to it with its cover. Once again I have to admire the way that Rebecca is written. Her character is beautiful, smart, loyal, and she was really written in a way that almost makes her feel real. This story is full of love, drama, faith, and a strong willed woman with attitude. Being as this was the end of this series it had lots of moments that were highly emotional, but there were also a lot of sweet and endearing moments as well. Chain Reaction (Nite Fire, Book 2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was easily one of my top reads this year. While this is the second installment in this series, it can be read as a stand alone although the series Is so good I recommend reading the first one. This book mixes so many good genres including a detective thriller, meets nice cop, with a fantastic paranormal twist. The plot flows effortlessly, the characters are fantastic, and the mix between paranormal and reality is flawless. While there is plenty of serious moments in this book there are also several light moments, so the book is not to serious. In a nutshell I highly recommend you pick up this book with its strong and determined main character, and it’s brilliant storyline, you will not be disappointed.

States of Grace (Grace Locke Mystery Series) by Mandy Miller – Review by stephanie nicole

States of GraceStates of Grace by Mandy Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so perfect, and beautifully done it is incredibly hard for me to believe that it’s the authors first novel. I was originally drawn to this novel by its cover and the blurb on the back. But once I started the novel I couldn’t put it down. The authors writing flows just as beautifully as the plot. This book has everything you could want in a lawyering thriller filled with mystery, murder, lawyers, the Florida state bar and so much more. The plot flowed so beautifully that the pages just flew by and I couldn’t put it down. Grace’s character really spoke to me, even though she’s been knocked down several times she just gets back up and fights even harder. She’s really a character that you can get behind. But in the long run this story was so perfect that I can’t wait for the next book from this author.

Once again full of drama, this one has so much more then the first book including ancient curses, gold hunters, and beautiful mystical wolves. While this story could be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read the first book in this series to get the back story as to who Tally is and how she came to possess her angel. This story was beautiful and thought provoking in its own way. When I first picked up this book I picked it up purely based on the cover and the synopsis on the back. But I soon found myself flipping through the pages to see what happened with these amazing characters. While this novel is only 156 pages our author really knows how to pull her readers in and keep them interested until the very end. The characters are amazing, the plot was thought provoking, and the story as a whole was just beautiful. Alyse is a young girl who feels like her life has been taken away from her as she floats through Limbo. Trey is an older man who thinks his death was an accident, but was it? My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While the blurb on the back cover of this book intrigued me, I can’t say that it was everything I expected it to be. While there was a lot of drama, suspense, religion, and some supernatural elements there were times that I felt that they didn’t really pull together in a concise thought. However, the plot and the characters were still amazing and kept me interested until the end. I found myself relating a lot to the lead character and her journey of trying to find herself. Which really helped pull the book together for me. While Claire is on a journey to find herself, as well as her mother’s killer she will uncover a lot more then she bargained for. But will she be able to handle it? You’ll have to read this novel to find out for yourself.

This story was full of drama, train robberies, love, danger, and kidnapping, and I just simply could not put it down. This author did such a beautiful job with this time period, set in the 1800s, this author clearly did her research and paid very close attention to detail. While this is not usually my kind of genre, this author really hooked me from the very beginning with her wonderful characters and attention to detail, I personally can’t wait to see what she gives us next.

This book is truly one of the best paranormal/shifter/ romance books that I have read this year. Having read the two previous installments, this one is by far my favorite and while I recommend that you read the first two you could read this as a standalone. This book was so engaging and written so smoothly that I couldn’t put it down, and I finished it in a couple of hours. This story is just packed with all of my favorite things including magic, shifters, mystery, romance, and of course a little drama for good measure. But the real question is fo you believe in destiny, or in soul mates? If you don’t this book might make you change your mind with how realistic these characters are.

This book was one simple word, amazing! While I was expecting a good rom com with maybe some drama and tension mixed in, I was not expecting this book to have such realistic characters that made you fall in love with the entire story. This was a first time author for me but it will not be my last. The characters were both realistic and fantastic, the plot was intriguing and fast-paced, with plenty of romance to go around. Full of friends, loves, and enemies this book had me hooked from page one until the very end, I just simply couldn’t put it down. So if your looking for a new rom com this week then perhaps you should pick up a copy if this book and join Krista and Brock in this realistic rom com story.
