The Eclipse Dancer by Laura Koerber is my new favorite book. I admit this with the utmost sincerity. The author’s style of writing is so beautiful that it dances off the page like sunlight sparkling off ripples of water. This book hit me right in the heart. I have a fond childhood memory of sitting on my grandmother’s porch, blanketed by the summer heat, as I listened to the breeze tinkle the wind chimes and watched the sun sweep across the landscape. This book relaxes and comforts me much in the same way. I’ve been a lover of words and stories since birth, and I truly appreciate when an author can elicit a physical response with the shape of their words. This story blends real, raw emotion with magic as Andy, a middle-aged woman, cares for her ailing mother and revisits a fantasy world from her childhood. I was hooked from the first line and give The Eclipse Dancer 5 stars only because I cannot give it more.

The Eclipse Dancer is a story woven around memories. The story begins with Andy sitting in the yard smoking a cigarette and enjoying the momentous occasion of a total solar eclipse. Andy finds herself caught in the moment, and she lets herself free to enjoy the solitude of the eclipse and the dance of the eclipse. A dance she learned about when she was a teenager here in Allenburg, Iowa.
Andy is back home where it all started…where she learned who/what she really is. As Andy assists her mother in the final days of her life, the memories of her childhood and teenage years take her down memory lane building into a lovely story about the coming of age and discovering who you were and how you came to be that way and why.
Laura Koerber carefully crafts this story as she weaves through Andy’s present-day and her time as a child and then into her teenage years. The imagery used in the writing creates a story that you can see as a reader. Though the material in the story was not of my usual preference I did enjoy reading the book.

This is my first book by Laura Keorber and I will be seeking out more stories by her. Her plotline was uplifting. She put so much emotion in this book that I could feel the energy as I read the book. I felt the emotional roller coaster ride as I was turning the pages. The characters are fully developed and connectable. This story is about Andy and all her life. . I have followed Andy throughout her emotional journey of forgiveness and letting go. I have learned that letting go is a good thing for my health and to let my spirit fly high to keep myself grounded. I highly suggest this story. I will warn you to have a box of kleenex and enough time to read this in one sitting.

This story was a great read. It has a wonderful story line that many a young person can relate to. It is a story about friendship, being different, changes in our lives and being able to deal with them. On top of that we have a mystery to be solved and the supernatural! If you have a reader that liked Harry Potter, or enjoys solving a mystery I would recommend this book to them

The Eclipse Dancer by Laura Koerber is a well written and realistic story. This book was nothing at all like I expected when I started reading. It was so much darker and intense that I had thought it would be, but that just made it much more compelling to read. Andy is such a relatable character – trying to come to terms with the death of her mother she takes us on a journey that has her looking back through her past. This book is a brilliant mix of natural and supernatural. Everything was easy to imagine and it really was such an interesting read. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I would also recommend going into blind, just like I did, so you can be swept away on the journey even more.

What a beautifully written book! Andy is a 52 year old woman back to care for her dying mom. She takes us for a stroll through her memories of her teen summer. Fairies, clans, “aunties”, and dysfunctional families all weave together to make a plot that transitions like a smooth river down the mountain side. The characters are very believable. Going home seemed to bring Andy some closure and clarity to that summer. I would love to see a sequel as to life in the North Woods. A must read for all.

The Eclipse Dancer is a beautiful story about the life of Andy. The story takes place in present day, with Andy remembering her childhood–the fairies, her friends, her pet, her life. This book features lovely, developed characters, a magical atmosphere, intertwined with tragic events. The Eclipse Dancer is different from any other book I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Laura Koerver develops a breath taking environment for a very well written story! Great 5 star read!

This book is an incredible read. It will have you captivated in its pages. Koerber brings everything to the table in this story. It deals with real emotions and real struggles between family members. It hits closer to home than I was expecting. It adds a bit of magic whimsical into the real world. I loved the past and present moments bringing the story together. The Eclipse Dancer left me wanting. I feel like it could have been a much bigger novel and more in-depth. The writing style gave me excellent imagery and took me on a journey. I was left wanting to dig deeper, to get to know some of the minor characters more. I struggled with the timeline writing style of the novel. It was an enjoyable read and as it a quick and easy read, it is worth the time.

Laura Koerber gives us The Eclipse Dancer which is a paranormal fantasy tale. I have read several of Laura’s books before and she is an emotive writer with different genres. This magical tale is vividly rich in its telling and I found myself easily entrenched in the world in which had been created. With its intricate layers finely woven the lead to an easy and a seamless flow but the ending felt a little rushed.

I enjoyed this book very much. Sometimes I felt a little confused, but for the most part I was able to follow along. I felt a very strong sadness throughout this whole book. Andy, was not granted a great childhood growing up, I did see flickers of fun here and there with her and Danny but for the most part it seemed like she wasn’t really acknowledged by her alcoholic mess of a mother. I think when she found Alana and Kenshi, things started looking up for her, it seemed she had a purpose, and then when she lost the both of them, she seemed to be coasting again. Throughout this journey with Andy, we meet many people that she was introduced to, see many deaths she has to cope with and how her life turned out as an adult. The magical element added to the story made it much more interesting At some points I thought this book may be a little too deep for me, but as I kept reading, I became more and more entranced in the writing style. I would definitely recommend giving this book a read.

The Eclipse Dancer by Laura Koerber is, as I expected, another original story with plenty of thought provoking content. Ms. Koerber weaves magical realism with deft fingers, bringing complete believability to her work. Andy has been through a lot in her life, and while nursing her dying mother, begins to reflect back on her life- telling her story which flashes back between the past and present, telling of the circle of life, the mother/daughter relationship, thought provoking details, melancholy/sad/emotive moments, sensitive topics, death/dying, choices, mysteries of life, and a little magic. The story is told with rich detail and descriptions, bringing everything to life before my eyes. It was like watching a movie play out on the screen. Ms. Koerber has a lyrical, poetic feel to her writing which also adds to the atmosphere of her work, and making it very easy to read. Another captivating story from this clever writer!

This was a new author for me, Lilly Rayman. An unexpected Bonding was a more take on the vampire/shifter romance. In most vampire/shifter romances they are enemies and don’t fall in love. In this one there is a love story between a vampire and shifter. Darius and Livvie’s story is filled with mystery, romance, and obstacles they must overcome. There are vampires, shifters, faeries as well as mythology in this tale! All the components of a great story. It was done well too, there are a lot of factors that could have made it confusing but, because of its length and detail it was not. There was a lot of jumping around in her story from different characters to different timelines. This did not bother me that much, although I thought it could have been just as good a story without as much jumping. Throughout the story you can’t help but root for Darius and Livvie through everything. If you enjoy mythology, supernatural elements or both, this book is for you!

Similarly to the first book, the prologue immersed you completely in the character’s mind and world. The writing was descriptive and mysterious during some parts, and felt a bit rushed in others. However, the events of the book were intriguing from start to finish. Initially I was confused, as I was expecting to pick right back up where the first book left off, but instead, the book picks up with Ransom’s perspective during the events of the first book telling a new tale that coincides with the first book, but does not repeat it. I would have loved to experience this perspective along side Erika’s perspective in the first book as it fills in some blanks and I think would have made for better and more clear world building. The world building in this book gives a much clearer picture. Putting together fantasy with elements of Sci-fi made for an interesting tale. Definitely looking forward to the next story!

In Louisiana a dark figure hunts in the night, he is shrouded in shadows as he disposes of the trash for the Black Queen, it is the start of something dark and disturbing and he is revelling in it, as long as it doesn’t hurt the one he loves. Meanwhile “Ransom” McIlwain is packing up and preparing for a new mission with his team, although he wishes he was going to a party with his girlfriend Erika instead, especially with how good she looks in the picture she just sent him, but duty calls, at least until he can swap to another area of the military in the future. H wants to spend more time with her, she is bold, beautiful, intelligent and everything he is looking for in a woman, but when she speaks about her Ph.D in Folklore, he admits to himself that he tunes out a little, not believing in what she is telling him, but for now, he has to concentrate on work and not his girlfriend.
As the briefing starts and the team find out where they will be going and what they will be doing it all seems to be something they don’t normally deal with and they would be right, they are going after a terrorist called the Black queen who is combining neurotechnolog and mysticism to launch a domestic terrorism plot on home soil and that they will be deploying to Lousiana to go to a top; secret facility in order to receive further intel and training to use during their mission. Before they head out, their Captain insists they call their families and warn them about the pandemic of Covid-19 which is going to become more problematic and widespread while they are on mission, Ransom does his best to warn Erika, but it seems like she is having too much fun to listen to him, he is hoping that he is wrong.
As they arrive at the underwater black ops base, get set up with their equipment and are introduced to the doctors who will be looking after them during the mission, as they go into their brief they cannot believe what they are hearing, apparently the Black Queen has found a way to cross the Veil between the worlds and that they will be using brand new technology to access it, however, on the other side, things will not appear as the team expect, they will be in a state of lucid dreaming and will explain more when they get to the other side. As the team settle into their assigned machines and cross the veil, they realise what the doctor meant by looking and seeing things differently, but as they begin to immerse themselves into this strange new world and start to gather the information they need to try to stop the Black Queen, Ransom realises that his girlfriend had unwittingly already partially prepared his for this mission.
Will they be able to navigate this world on the other side of the veil and accept and use the gifts they find themselves with to complete their mission, or will the dangerous beings within this world somehow use this to their advantage instead? This is a military mission based around current times with a paranormal twist of alternate dimensions, shifting landscapes and otherworldly gifts which will keep you hanging on the edge of your seat throughout.

This is a powerful post-apocalyptic story full of adventure and suspense. The mix of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Action & Supernatural was beautifully written.
Ransom, his girlfriend Erika and a team of elite soldiers are on a mission to find a cyberterrorist called The Black Queen and stop her from doing something terrible, like literally unleashing hell on earth. Of course they are going to do what they can to stop her! I would recommend reading this book. I’m ready to see what happens next!

I enjoyed this book. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading and look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a story that is written with a lot of heart. The author used details that gave the story a realistic feel. The characters are connectable and made the story come to life on each page. This is a story that combines fantasy, life and death. Andy takes on a magical adventure that teaches about letting go and forgiveness. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride but it was a ride I gladly went on. This is the second book in the Tapestry of Worlds Series. It is an action packed adventure from the first page. The author does a great job of mixing Sci fi with paranormal and they work well together. This was the first book I have read but even though its the second in the series I was still able to enjoy it.
The characters are well written and the theme of good verses evil and who will triumph is a story that will keep you gripped from beginning to end.

This is the second book in this series by this author. I haven’t read the first book, but this cover stood out to me and reminded me of the Halo series covers, and I love that series. I was impressed with this book and will be reading the first one as well. I thought that the author did a fantastic job making the characters real and her description of the world around was phenomenal. I found this to be a very fast paced read and a real page turner. If you love books or games like the Halo series then you will love this book. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one.

This book is the second book in the Tapestry of Worlds series. I highly recommend reading the first book to get the most enjoyment of this book. This is a YA supernatural adventure book. The story is original. The characters are what make this story good. The characters are not only people but also shifters. The Black Queen is back but so is the White Queen. The battle that is about to happen is opening the nine mythical Ragnarok Gates, which will bring hell on earth. Will the White Queen and the elite group fight off the Black Queen’s plan? How many of the mythical Ragnarok Gates will be opened? I recommend this book to see what happens between Black Queen and White Queen.

Tapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and Gunning by Hadley Thorne. This is an action packed Sci Fi, Fantasy read. The characters are well developed and made me feel like I was on the adventure with them. I would recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already but this can be read as a standalone . This book is the second book in the Tapestry of Worlds series. I didn’t read the first one and I was able to follow the story pretty well. I’m sure the reading experience would be enhanced if you had some background from the first book, but it’s not necessary. As for the story itself… it’s an interesting mix of various genre elements. Definitely a different read. The plot sounded promising, but I’m not sure all of the elements worked together seamlessly. It felt like it was a little scattered – there was a lot going on. To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure how I feel about the book overall, but it’s a very creative idea. I’m giving it four stars for originality and creativity.

Wow, what a great novel. Suspenseful, mystical, and thrilling. I really enjoyed the interlacing of world’s in such a creative and descriptive way. This was my first introduction to Thorne and I am very excited to continue reading more of their stories. I disliked some of the language used to describe characters as it shows a lack of intersectionality, but it doesn’t take away from the story. Can’t wait to read what comes next in the Tapestry of Worlds!

Tapestry of Worlds, Part Two: Running and Gunning by Hadley Thorne is not the type of book that you read with a distracted mind. There are so many fantastic things going on in this book, it’s a challenge to keep up. It’s a little different than most fantasy stories I’ve read, it’s quite intriguing. I have to say though my very favorite scene in the whole book was the fire ants. I’m looking forward to reading the next book because I’m really curious now, is Ransom going to find Erika intact. I love the way the book ended, such promise for adventure to come.
