I give Rose by Any Other Name (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series, Book 10) by Becki Willis, 5 stars.
I loved this book!! I had only read the first book in the series before I picked up this one, so I missed what went on in between, but the author did a great job of making me feel like I didn’t miss a thing. The characters are what really make this series so good. All of the ones you love are back, as well as some new ones. This is a cozy mystery book that will keep you guessing until the end. I had an idea, but didn’t know exactly what was going on, and was definitely surprised at the end. I love that in a whodunit!! What makes this exceptional to me was getting the teenagers in on their own mystery. It wasn’t added as an afterthought or just to pull in younger readers. This was blended into the book in such a way that had you guessing which mystery was more important. I absolutely loved this. The teens are smart and hard-working — they don’t expect the adults to do everything, but at the same time they know when to ask for help.
These mysteries together made for an exceptional book that I could not put down. I will definitely be reading more from this series.

I cannot believe I have not read any of the others in this series. Becki Willis is a mastermind. In this book there are technically two mysteries going on at the same time. The stories flowed well together that I never got the two mysteries confused. The characters do make up the stories. They are complex and fully developed. The first mystery is a new woman is moving into the town and all the women are trying to figure her out. They want to know everything about this newcomer. The second story is about Blake and his summer job. He gathers up his sisters and forms a junior detective group. I highly recommend this story to find out if both parties figure out what is happening. I cannot wait to go back and read some other Becki Willis stories.

Suspicion from the start as the town people notice things from day one that just don’t fit. Investigated by chief Brash, it gets even more weird. Things continue to not add up. You will enjoy this book, a smooth read and one that keeps your attention until the end. A good job by author Becki Willis, I highly recommend this author and book.

Pharaoh’s Forgery (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 4) By Ellen Butler 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Pharaoh’s Forgery (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 4) by Ellen Butler. It is a story that includes mystery, danger, as well as twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. It is a book that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the character of Karina Cardinal. She is a woman who is strong, intelligent, and independent. Her boyfriend Mike believes that she always gets herself into sticky situations. This story has Karina going to Cancun. She is asked to bring a package along with her. Sounds easy right? What happens when she is in Cancun has her wondering what has happened to her well-deserved vacation. Read this book to find out what happens. This is a story that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There is never a dull moment in the situations that Karina finds herself in. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are introduced. Some of them have been brought forward from previous books such as Mike and Rodrigo. Others have a selfish agenda that they will try at all costs to make happen. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that you won’t be able to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

IRRESISTIBLE – FALL INTO ROMANCE (Irresistible Romance Book 5) by Tamara Ferguson (Author), Natalie Ann (Author), Suzanne Jenkins (Author), Cynthia Cooke (Author), Alicia Street (Author), Jen Talty (Author), Angela Stevens (Author), Patrice Wilton (Author) 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading this collection of stories. They have steamy romance, suspense, and two people falling for each other. The authors have wonderfully written stories that will make you believe in true love. The stories are written in such a way that both the storylines and the characters come alive on the pages. There are plenty of swoon-worthy moments as well as moments that will make you go “Aww.” I enjoyed reading about the additional characters in each story and their interactions with the main characters. This is a collection of stories that will in some cases make your heart beat faster and touch your heart in others. I love anthologies because I not only get to read stories from authors that I know, I also am introduced to new authors and their writing styles. This is a collection of stories that I would highly recommend reading. There were a couple of stories in this collection that I wanted to write about. They are:
TWO HEARTS’ TRUCE By Tamara Ferguson
This is a story that I loved reading. It has romance and suspense. It is a story that made me believe in true love and soulmates. I loved the characters of Amanda and Jeff. What does the future hold for them? Read this story to find out. I grew to care about Amanda and Jeff with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. I also enjoyed the additional characters who interacted with Amanda and Jeff. Jeff is a man that has plenty of patience and he shows his deep attraction to Amanda.
WHISKEY SOUR By Jen Talty This is a story that I loved reading. I loved the character of Boone Wilder. He has an attraction/chemistry to a woman that he wants not just as a friend but something more. What will happen when he must come clean about a lie he has told? This story has passion, romance, and two main characters that heat the pages. I loved that the woman Boone cares for is independent and strong. Boone is kind, caring, and a fighter for what is right.

I loved this anthology. This is a collection of eight authors who put together eight romance stories that will pull at your heart strings. I found some of my favorite authors and also a couple of new authors. One of my favorites is Two Hearts Truce. This is a story of learning to trust again once a heart has been broken and being able to move forward. Another one of my favorites is Bayou Cottage. This is a story about second chances. What does fate have in store for Maggie. There is something for everyone in this book and I know you will find a favorite or two too. This is a must read anthology written by some awesome authors.

This is the fourth book in this series. I think this series just keeps getting better and better with every book. I enjoyed how well written this story is. The characters bring the story to life with the mystery and action. I found this book to be engaging and fast paced. I had no problems connecting with the character as they kept me turning pages. In this story Karina is back with another mystery. She gets the opportunity to go to Mexico for some fun and drop a package off. But things don’t go as planned for the drop off. What happens next you will want to read this book. I really enjoyed the characters, they are strong and made me feel as if I was right with them. They made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

After some of Karina Cardinal’s recent adventures—her lover Mike Finnegan would call them scrapes, jams, or pickles—she’s more than ready to blow this D.C. pop stand for a short girls’ trip to Mexico. Until Jillian’s roller skate wreck blows their plan out of the water.
With Jilly injured and Mike working, her fellow lobbyist Rodrigo volunteers to share some sun, sand, and margaritas in Cancun. It’s tough to relax, though, knowing what’s in her suitcase. A package she promised to hand off to Mrs. Thundermuffin in Mexico.
Mrs. T’s evasive maneuvers around Karina’s questions wave more red flags than a bullfighter, leaving Karina no choice but to take a peek. Okay, so it’s not a kilo of something illegal. It’s an Egyptian death mask that turns out to be a magnet for crooks, conmen, kidnappers, and outright killers.
When the situation explodes into chaos, Karina and Rodrigo are lucky to have friends in the right place—at their backs. But they’re in one hell of a jam. And they could be going home in something tackier than a souvenir t-shirt—more like a body bag.

Looking for a mystery you’ve found it here with a who done it story, that’ll keep you glued to the pages wondering what happens next! This is my first read by this author and I was skeptical I’d like the book but was I wrong! once I started I couldn’t put it down. I was gripped from page one by this novel which has drama, crime, suspense, romance and mystery as well as great characters. Based in a small town, ‘The Sisters’, during a long hot Texas summer a mysterious new comer arrives in the community and instantly the gossip starts. No one knows who Rose Belvedere is or why she has chosen The Sisters as a place to live but the locals are sure that a body was put into her moving van. Chief Brash deCordova’s police department is over run with calls all saying the same thing but without probable cause all he can do is make inquiries. However when Madison, from ‘In a Pinch Professional Services’ who is known as being a “dead-body magnet”, does find a body her husband, the Chief must investigate the murder. Meanwhile sixteen year old Blake has a summer job and finds himself in the middle of his own mystery to solve. Along with his sisters they decide to form a junior section of “In a Pinch Professional Services” would be sleuths. This is a wonderfully written cozy mystery which kept me hooked from beginning to end and with all the twists and turns it also kept me guessing. The storyline flows nicely making it an easy read and the plot has plenty going on which kept me fully immersed in the story. I loved all the main characters, who are part of Madison’s, ‘In a Pinch Professional Services’ and thought that the husband and wife duo of Madison and the Chief were a perfect crime solving couple who worked well together to discover the killer before they could strike again. Although it is book ten of a series it can be read as a standalone story, however, as I was new to this author and this series I did feel that I would have understood Madison’s backstory better and learnt how ‘In a Pinch’ came into being if I had read the previous books first. I think if the books are read in order than the reader may enjoy this novel even more and would get to know all the fascinating characters. Having enjoyed this book I am now keen to read the previous novels in this series and am pleased to have discovered a new author.

When Brash the local police officer gets numerous calls regarding a supposed dead body wrapped in a carpet he goes to investigate. Finding nothing that leads him to believe that’s true he moves on putting it down to the residents imaginations.
That is until his wife finds a dead body. Does this mean that all the residents where right in what they saw? Could the dead body really have left Rose’s house wrapped in a rug? Who is Rose and why has she moved to The Sisters. With so many questions and not a lot of answer Brash involves his wife and her friends as undercover sleuths to find out what really went on behind the closed doors.

This caper left me glued to my seat. I thoroughly enjoy how Willis weaves her stories together and this latest installment in The Sisters Texas series is another winner. I really enjoy how the characters are tangible, flawed, and downright funny. There is humor even in the dark and twisted. This whodunit isn’t a scare fest but it immediately jumps in and makes you wonder exactly who Rose is and what in the world has happened? If you’ve ever lived in a small town you’ll appreciate how true this rings in situation and dynamic. I have enjoyed each of the books in this series and hope to read more from this author soon. A Rose By Any Other Name is Book #10 in The Sister, Texas Mysteryseries by Becki Willis. This is another wonderful cosy mystery to add to the already fantastic series- but you don’t have to read the whole series in order to appreciate this book, as it can easily be read as a standalone. The story is a tightly woven and very intriguing cozy murder mystery, with a wonderful cast of characters, crime, investigation, drama, suspense, and more. Things heat up when a mysterious newcomer arrives in town, who soon gets tongues wagging, but not in the way you might imagine. But in a “is that a body?” kind of way. Then Maddy makes a disturbing discovery- and the mystery begins. Really well written, with all the ingredients you expect from a great mystery. I am really enjoying exploring this superb series!

I loved how this book kept the mystery coming with not only a sleuth of questions but with a fast paced adventure following. Suspense is built and mystery unfolds as we continue to read through this book. This is a great read because it picks up momentum but doesn’t let loose. These characters are easy to fall in love with as they thrive in as heroes but this a great addition to the series. Loved it!

This is a new to me author but the moment I saw the cover I knew I had to see what the story was that laid behind it. Rose by Any Other Name is the tenth book in The Sisters, Texas Series, but honestly I was able to read it as a stand alone just fine. I can tell this may be one to go back and see what the previous books are all about though after finishing this one. This is one of those feel good reads with having some mystery and intrigue binding it all together reads that I just couldn’t put down. The mystery busting the girls in this novel is someone has put a dead body in Granny Bert’s fridge, but who did it and why is the real conundrum. The rest is for you to read and see how things play out, but I can assure you this is one the mystery reader won’t wanna miss out on.

Rose by Any Other Name by Becki Willis is the tenth book in The Sisters, Texas Mystery series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. As the first book I have read by this author it definitely gave me a great introduction to her work. The book was intriguing and entertaining in equal measure. It was really easy to understand, despite me having not read any of the previous books in the series. I thought the whole book was well paced and competently constructed. The characters worked well together – clearly the result of having been built up over many books. I enjoyed reading about them and can easily see how you would build up a sort of relationship with them if you have been reading from the start. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will certainly look to read the rest of the series.

This is the 10th book in the sister series. This is a fantastic suspense story. Maddy and the gang have yet another mysterious to solve. It like a real version of scooby-doo. A mysterious strange moves to this town and a dead body. Where has this came from. Who dunnit?. So many twist and unexpected turns. It’s a very colourful book.

Brash deCordova is the sheriff in The Sisters, fondly called that by the residents of Juliet & Naomi (the towns are on each side of railroad tracks!) who gets multiple calls about a suspected murder…but was there really a murder? How can he be sure with the multiple stories that don’t quite match from the witnesses and no body? You’ve got to love a mystery that starts out like this!! The characters in this book have depth and love and respect for each other. It won’t take long before you get sucked into the story. How have I not found this author before? I have a lot of books to read to get to know more about what happens in The Sisters Texas Mystery Series.

5 Star Rose by Any Other Name (The Sisters, Texas Series, Book 10) by Becki Willis is a wonderfully written story that I absolutely couldn’t stop till I finished. Although this is my first book by this author I definitely will be reading the other books as well. I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. There is two different mysteries, find out what happens next in this must read. I don’t want to give to much away . I highly recommend reading this. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Rose by Any Other Name (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series, Book 10) By Becki Willis 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Rose by Any Other Name (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series, Book 10) by Becki Willis. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. I loved reading about the mystery woman Rose Belvedere who has just moved into The Sisters. With her arrival comes suspicions and a dead body. What will Chief Brash deCordova and Madison find out about this newcomer? What is going on in The Sisters? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has adventure, suspense, and mystery. The book had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. It also has amazing and colorful characters that I loved reading about. The author does a wonderful job of making both them and the storyline come alive. I felt like I was right there with them as their investigations start and deepen. There are also humorous moments that had me laughing at the bantering and interactions. The setting for the story is in a small town so everyone knows and hears about what goes on all the time. I could relate as I live in a rural, small town. Don’t miss out on an intriguing and entertaining story that I didn’t want to put down until I had finished the last page. I highly recommend it be added to the top of your TBR list.

This is my first book from this series, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more books in this series. This is a well written flowing story that has mystery and characters that bring life to the story. I had no issues connecting with the characters and they add some humor to the story. This book has two separate mysteries like two different stories happening throughout. It was easy to keep up with and written so it was also easy to read. This is a story where the chief of police’s wife takes it upon herself to check out the new neighbor in town. Then you have her son who takes on a mystery all of his own. I enjoyed the characters, they made the story fun to read and made it fast paced. This made a great afternoon read and I highly recommend reading it.

It’s summertime in Texas, when temperatures—and tempers—soar.
A mysterious woman moves to The Sisters, and the tongues start wagging. Who is this Rose Belvedere? Why did she move here, of all places? Was that a body the movers stuffed into the van?
Calls flood into the police department, but without probable cause, Chief Brash deCordova can’t do much more than make an inquiry. When Madison (dead-body magnet that she is) stumbles upon a gruesome discovery, all that changes. Now there’s a body and a suspect, but no probable cause. Will the husband and wife duo discover the truth before the killer strikes again?
Saving up to buy his first truck, sixteen-year-old Blake has a summer job at Marvin Gardens. He’s prepared for hard work and long hours, but he isn’t prepared for a mystery of his own. Recruiting help from his sisters, the teenagers may just form a junior division of would-be sleuths for In a Pinch Professional Services.
The heat is on for another great adventure in The Sisters!
Book Ten in the best-selling The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series.
Best-selling author Becki Willis loves crafting stories with believable characters in believable situations—the quirkier, the better! Many of her stories stem from her own travels and personal experiences. (No worries; she’s never actually murdered anyone.)
When she’s not plotting danger and adventure for her imaginary friends, Becki enjoys reading, antiquing (aka junking), unraveling a good mystery (real or imagined), dark chocolate, and a good cup of coffee. A professed history geek, Becki often weaves pieces of the past into her novels. Family is a central theme in her stories and in her life. She and her husband enjoy traveling, but believe coming home to their Texas ranch is the best part of any trip.
Becki has won numerous awards, but the real compliments come from her readers. Drop in for an e-visit anytime at beckiwillis.ccp@gmail.com, or www.beckiwillis.com.

This book took me by surprise at how good it was but also multilayered. Full of action with the scenarios of her getting justice for herself and the other victims of Eddie’s crimes. Romance with she and Robin that she can have the best of both worlds and this is only the beginning for this duo! There’s a great sense of action from characters out to seek vengeance even in a completely fictional way.

Abbott – Review by Faith Jackson
Foxxy has never had a perfect life until one fateful night. With Robin Hood as her partner, Foxxy is an equalizer who is out for blood after being assaulted by her pimp, Eddie. Trying to save money to move away and start fresh, Foxxy is out to settle the score after all the horrors her ex-pimp put her through. At a ballroom party, a stranger catches her eye but connects them both in one another’s lives. Robin couldn’t let her go as she knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was the one for him. Foxxy is out to get revenge for every woman Eddie has ever tortured with the help of Robin. As she steps into who she’s out to be as an equalizer, Foxxy realizes that this is who she’s supposed to be. This book took me by surprise at how good it was but also multilayered. There’s a great sense of action from characters out to seek vengeance even in a completely fictional way.

Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson Abbott is an attention catching read. It is the first book in the Equalizer series, and is certainly a great start! This book really keeps you reading, on the edge of your seat waiting for more. Foxxy’s character is very relatable, and I enjoyed reading her story. I look forward to reading more from Abbott in the future!

The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson R. Abbott Four Stars
The Equalizer: Foxxxy’s Tipping Point is the first book in Foxxy: The Equalizer Series by Allyson R. Abbott. This is a fast paced book that grabbed my attention from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. Foxxy has had a rough life, when she meets a stranger who offers to make her life easier. The only problem is can she dig deep enough to bring herself to trust Peter? This story flowed and the character growth is great. There are some ups and downs in this book, but the whole thing is well written and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Abbott – Review by Sunday Barnaby
The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer #1)is an intriguing and suspenseful romance by Allyson R. Abbott. This story is a little different from the other books of Ms. Abbott’s that I have read- but still with the wonderful character development and emotive quality that I associate with Ms. Abbott. I really felt for Foxxy- she hasn’t had an easy life, and her trust and confidence has taken quite a battering. I admire her inner strength and the fire inside her that couldn’t be extinguished. We meet her at the beginning of the story, an escort who is broken and bleeding after being beaten and raped by her horrible pimp Eddie and his ‘gang’. I hated that man with a vengeance, and so did Foxxy- and she vows to find a way to break away from his hold and make him pay for what he’d done. Things take an interesting turn when Foxxy meets the magnetic gaze of a handsome stranger across a crowded room. There is something mysterious about him, but also an undeniable connection. Fate is at play here. And what happens next made for a really great read. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Abbott does next!

Abbott – Review by Angela Hayes
The Equlizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson Abbott is a story all about one woman set of revenge. Nothing about Foxxy’s life has been straight forward so when she decides on revenge it gives her such a purpose. This book was well written and certainly catches your attention. It was a fairly quick but interesting read. You find yourself wanting Foxxy to achieve her mission. You are drawn to her and everything she is going through. Will she ever be able to get her own happy ending?? I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend reading it.
