Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders by Kara Liane, K.L. Montgomery, Harlow Layne, Amanda Siegrist, A.K. MacBride, Jody Kaye, Syd Ryan, Alyne Hart, Kelsey Cheyenne, Larissa Gail 5 stars
I knew I had to pick this anthology up as soon as it went up for preorder. I mainly got this for KL Montgomery as she is an automatic one click author for me, no matter what its about! This review focuses on Reconstructed Heart by KL Montgomery
Reconstructed Heart broke my heart from the beginning and took me on a journey inside the minds of police officers and the emotional turmoil they feel on a daily basis and how hard that is to bring into a relationship. Jenna and Trey sparked from the get go but it sure took some time to get from benefits and comfort to showing the feelings for real. Like all of this authors stories, I was invested from start to finish. I loved these characters as they were different in a way from some of her previous characters in her books.
I will be reading the rest of these stories as i love first responder stories.

Risking Everything is a steamy anthology that gives us glimpses into the lives of the first responders! I had read three of the writers before (Kara Liane, Amanda Siegrist and KL Montgomery) so of course I checked out their stories first! Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery gives us Trey Prince and Jenna Labato that meet on a gruesome accident scene and it takes them on a journey of picking up pieces of a broken heart and rebuilding the faith that has been lost! You know from the first page on that it would take a miracle and the writer gives us one! This story is a true testament to the lives of police officers and it is good to be reminded of it once in a while! Romance on the Rig by Kara Liane gives us Air Force veteran Sean the “Murf” who is an EMT and a college student Lana. It is a story of recognizing love and trusting in that love and building a future one can rely on! The love takes a long way round as there are some mistakes and a misunderstanding but we all know that love conquers all!
Always Kind of Love by Amanda Siegrist gives us a second chances romance between Ethan McCord, our hot firefighter, and Penelope! It is also a great introduction into her McCord Family series! She gives us assumed unrequited love, PTSD, panic attacks, and dangerous arsonist! You will be sitting at the edge of your seat from page one! I suggest you pick up a copy as you will not only get 10 hot and spicy stories but also will get a satisfaction from knowing that all the proceeds will go to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation that honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life when saving other on 9/11. The Foundation honors the military and first responders who continue to make the sacrifice of life and limb for their country!

*This is a review of the story written by K.L. Montgomery titled Reconstructed Hearts.* This story was written beautifully from the male characters point of view. Trey has been on the police force for a long while. Of course throughout his career he has dealt with and seen quite a bit of devastation. However, nothing prepares him for the terrible news that is delivered to him by a newer trooper on the unit. The bearer of bad news, Jenna, is younger and beautiful. The two end up becoming friends and try to develop a no-string attached sort of relationship. Things keep coming up and Trey has a hard time dealing with the weight of the trauma and weight of his career. He keeps pushing Jenna away thinking it is the right thing to do. The push and pull of this story is charmingly frustrating. The emotions and the characters are so easy to relate to. It makes you think about all the things our blue line family has to go through and see on a daily basis. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Risking Everything is a anthology of some steamy reads involving first responders. Each one is steamier and hotter then the next. They were all great reads and can’t find anything I didn’t like about any of them. I can be honest and tell you my favorite was my K.L Montgomery and involved a trooper named Jenna and a CRU agent named Trey who used to be a trooper. That one had such a great storyline that had me reading page after page to find out what would happen next. Such a great anthology you don’t want to miss out on. Grab your copy today

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders by Kara Liane, K.L. Montgomery, Harlow Layne, Amanda Siegrist, A.K. MacBride, Jody Kaye, Syd Ryan, Alyne Hart, Kelsey Cheyenne, Larissa Gail. This is an amazing Anthology. I loved all the stories but got it because of K.L. Montgomery! Reconstructed Heart is the story of Trey Prince and Jenna Labato. Jenna is a State Trooper and Trey is starting a new job with a Collision Reconstruction Unit. When Trey makes a startling discovery at an accident scene Jenna is the one who tries to help him pick up the pieces. Trey doesn’t think he will ever recover but Jenna is determined to try. Its a wonderful story with a strong Female lead for a change and I really liked that. Beautiful Persuasion by A.K. MacBride is a great story as well. Its about Raelyn who is reeling from a breakup and Griffin who is a hot, sexy Irishman. When they share a night of passion Raelyn is trying to determine if Griffin is worth losing her family for. Rescuing Ryan by Syd Ryan is a sweet story about a sexy firefighter named Chris and a girl named Ryan who is working her way thru nursing school any way she can. When she meets Chris he is coming off a bad relationship and he realizes Ryan is going to be his most difficult rescue ever. I really loved all these stories. You should read this anthology you will not be disappointed.

5 Star Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders by Kara Liane, K.L. Montgomery, Harlow Layne, Amanda Siegrist, A.K. MacBride, Jody Kaye, Syd Ryan, Alyne Hart, Kelsey Cheyenne, Larissa Gail is a wonderfully written anthology that consists of ten stories of men and women working as first responders . I’ve read several books by several of these author’s but a couple are new to me. I’ll definitely be checking out more of their books. Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery is one of my favorites . Once I started reading it I had a hard time putting it down till the end. Trey and Jenna, he makes a horrible discovery when going to a accident scene, she tries helping him out with the aftermath. My emotions were all over the place with this story. Find out what happens next, Will Jenna help him heal? What does their future look like? I highly recommend this Anthology.

Risking Everything was a great 5 star read. This is a great collection of romance stories about first responders, fire fighters, police officers and many more. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Romance on the Rig – Kara Liane: This is Murf and Lana’s story. They meet when Lana brings her niece and nephew to an event that Murf is at with the first responder vehicle. Lets just say there is a misunderstanding on Murfs part and he’s very short with Lana as she tries to flirt with him. When Lana realizes why Murf was so cold she is determined to talk to him and straighten things out. Will they be able to work things out? Will they get a HEA?
Reconstructed Heart – K.L. Montgomery: This is Trey and Jenna’s story. Trey meets Jenna on the scene of a terrible accident that he discovers involved a fellow police officer and friend. Jenna attempts to be there for Trey but he tries to push her away. When there is a scary turn of events, things change for Trey and how he feels, but could it be too late? There is also something else that really tugs at your heartstrings in this read.
Walk the Line: Gage – Harlow Layne: This is Gage and Claire’s story. Gage is called to a scene of a multi vehicle car accident. Claire is trapped in her car and Gage promises to stay with her. Taking him to his word Claire begs him to come to the hospital with her. There is something about Claire that really calls to him. When things take a scary twist will Gage stay with her or let her go?
Always Kind of Love – Amanda Siegrist: This is Ethan and Penolope’s story. They were high school sweethearts that eventually parted ways. Now Penelope is back in town and throws Ethan for a loop. Can this firefighter convince Penelope to give them another try?
Beautiful Persuasion – A.K. MacBride: This is Raelyn and Griffin’s story. When Raelyn meets Griffin she is pulled in by him, who doesn’t love an Irish accent. When she has to make a choice will she make the right one?
Going Down – Jody Kaye: This is Kat and Dash’s story. Kat is struggling with her parents divorce. She has built up walls to protect herself, but when she meets Dash will he be able to get through them?
Rescuing Ryan – Syd Ryan: This is Ryan and Chris’s story. These two meet when they are both out with other people, when Ryan’s date turns physical Chris steps in to help her. From here they continue to stay in touch and things develop into a steamy relationship. Can they have a HEA?
Perfect for Me – Alyne Hart: This is Luke and Grace’s story. When Grace returns home after several years, these two find themselves caught in a storm and are forced to stay at a cabin that holds lots of memories for them. Let’s just say things get very hot and steamy.
Call of Fate – Kelsey Cheyenne: This is Aubrey and Noah’s story. Aubrey is very protective of her heart, when she meets Noah things change. Can she trust him? Will she run or will she stay?
Loving Lindsey – Larissa Gail: Gavin is known as a player but something is slowly changing for him. As he sees what his friends relationships are turning into, he starts to want the same thing. When he meets Lindsey, has he finally found the one?
Overall, all of these stories were great. I can’t wait to read more from all of these authors. We get so many great stories with different themes and so many hot heroes. The other great thing about this book is that all of the proceeds go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. If your looking for a great read. 1-click and get started now.

Risking Everything is a collection of work by some fantastic authors. All done in aid of an amazing cause this series is an anthology of stories all about people in the first response industry. K.L. Montgomery has to be one of my favourite authors right now so to see her name mentioned in this collection instantly meant I would be giving this ago. Her story is brilliant. The main characters had such a connection and chemistry between them. I was drawn to them straight away and desperately wanted them to get their happy ending. This is an anthology that I can see will just keep on giving as I am looking forward to keep dipping in and out with a different story each time.

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology Of First Responders is a collection of hot and steamy novels in which the main character(s) is a first responder. Among this collection is Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery. I have read other works by this author and have found that I love their writing style, characters and story lines. Due to this, I chose to read Reconstructed Heart first. This book is filled with so much emotion. I would add a ‘tissues needed’ warning with this book. There are some really heart wrenching, heart breaking scenes in this book that will have you loving and hating the author at the same time: Firstly, for writing such a powerful story and secondly for putting you through such emotions. Trey Prince and Jenna Labato are both awesome characters. Trey is called out to an RTA in his job with the Collision Reconstruction Unit only to face one of his wort nightmares – one of the victims is his friend, colleague and former mentor. Jenna Labato is the state trooper on the scene and forms a bond with Trey. This is a powerful story of how 2 people come together to help them through a traumatic time in their lives. It is so well written and will drag you deep into the story that you will not want to put it down. In fact, I binge read this in one sitting as I just could not put it down. I thoroughly recommend this beautiful, emotional story.

I give Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders, 4 stars.
This is a great anthology, but I would like to focus on Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery. The story is very unique, not something I imagined when I started it. It shocks you right away, and then throws the main characters for a loop. Trey is devastated by what he finds out when he responds to a call, and he doesn’t know how to fix it. He also has feelings for a fellow cop, but they feel so wrong given the circumstances. Not to mention he doesn’t feel worthy of her. The struggle for him is quite clear. But Jenna does not give up. She sees something in him. This is a very emotional story, have some tissues on hand just in case. I don’t know how the author wrote this without tears in her eyes. But at the same time, you feel attraction between these two, and a pull that’s more than just sex. For a shorter story, it really is complex.
But this is just one amazing story from this book. If you enjoy your romances on the hot side, and like to read about first responders, this book is definitely for you.

I love this collection of steamy and short romance novels with a centric point of view, first responders. I love a man in a uniform like most of us women I know and this brings you ten of them by some of the best romance authors. I have a lot of favorites on the author list but also some new ones to check out so that is an added bonus. I will just leave a snippet on the K.L. Montgomery novel, Reconstructed Heart. I will have to come back and dish on the others as I finish them but loved Reconstructed Heart so much I had to come share now! This would make a great gift for the reader this holiday too!
Reconstructed Heart by KL Montgomery is a short but packed and entertaining little read. I adored Trey and Jenna and their chemistry was outstanding. I was on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster throughout the story. I found the little tears struggling to escape several times while reading but it was balanced with just the right amount of sweet love to redeem my hearts faith in love. I adore that attention is being brought to our first responders, regardless of the line of duty, and how they make our world a better place to live in for very little thanks and appreciation. I can’t wait to read what else is in this collection and look forward to seeing what will be the next thing from KL Montgomery as well as the rest of the talented authors.

I like how all the books are around the main theme but each is so different that it doesn’t bother me to read book after book on the same genre. Most of these are new to me authors. They cover police, fire, EMT and even Ski Patrol! Oh the 9-1-1 operator one is ingenious as well. I don’t think I have ever read a book on ski patrol or a 9-1-1 operator before. I liked the variety and wished some of these have other books in a series or with the same characters I could pick up. These all have some drama, suspense, humor (83yo Lolly comes to mind), tears and steam.
My three favorites are: Going Down by Jody Kaye. This one is the ski patrol one and this also includes a hairless cat. It’s full of thought provoking ideas on life as well as how to stay positive and keep your wild side. Very enlightening and enjoyable!
Walk the Line by Harlow Layne. This one has twin Clark Kent looking cops that are easy to love. Gage and Claire really drew me into their story. I loved how he cared for her. But I would love to get Tate’s story. This has suspense and drama.
Beautiful Persuasion by A.K. MacBride. The reason I LOVED this one is all Thatcher! He is the secondary character but makes a huge impact. He has that protective older brother thing going on when he gets on (sister)Rae about staying out overnight. Then they noogie it out. Haha! The story is great too between Rae and Griffin but Thatcher and his bossiness/protectiveness just called out to me. I would LOVE to see his story.
Overall this is a great collection of stories. I enjoy books like this for the introduction to new authors. there are many to chose from and always some you will like.

Who doesn’t love a man or woman in uniform? Firefighters, Paramedics, Police Officers, OH MY! This anthology has it all. And proceeds go to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation makes it even better! 9 of these 10 authors are new to me so what a great surprise that I now have that many more authors to stalk…err….follow!!
Romance on the Rig by Kara Liane is a cute insta-love story about Lana and Sean. Even with some misunderstandings, their fire burns brightly and right from the start!
Loving Lindsay by Larissa Gail is a heart-breaking, second chance love story about Lindsey, John and Gavin.
Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery is a story of Jenna and Trey, two people brought together over the death of another. This story has a few twists and an underlying message. You really don’t want to miss out!
This entire anthology is so worth the read! Each story so different but so good as well. You won’t be sorry when you go one click this one!

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders by ten great authors. All the stories are about first responders from Police Officers, Firefighters, and Accident scene workers to Emergency Call operators and all are hard but wonderful stories to read. It is also great to see that the book supports a good cause. Each of these stories are highly emotionally charged stories and will have your heart beating rapidly as you journey along with the characters whilst they put their lives, their emotional wellbeing on the line every day. They are each beautiful stories in there telling and I shed a tear or two along the way.
Reconstructed Heart – K.L. Montgomery tells the sad tale of having to come face to face with an accident where someone you knew was involved. Not only that but having to deal with it and find there is far more to the story than it seems. What he also discovers is that he is not alone and that he may just be worthy of love. This is a very emotional story that had me on high alert and my heart breaking.
Romance on the Rig – Kara Liane is the story of a man who has been burnt and totally misreads that is going on. Until he can face his demons will he push the one good thing he finds away?
Walk the Line – Harlow Layne tells us of one man who helps calm a woman who has been in a serious accident. When things start to come together for them he is scared off because of nasty attacks involving other woman of police officers. Did he do the right thing or will it prove to be too much?
Always Kind of Love – Amanda Siegrist is about a woman he can’t stop thinking about who has returned to his life. She is the last thing he wants to deal with but she has always been his one love. He finds himself not only battling fires in buildings but also those of his heart.
Beautiful Persuasion – A.K. MacBride – Raelyn cannot say no to her girlfriends and one taste is all it took for her to know he was the one she needed, the air she needed to breathe but she also loves her family. Damn his sexy accent.
Going Down – Jody Kaye is the story of Kat who is struggling with her parents’ divorce and holding herself back from a life she should live, that is until one crazy man skis into her life.
Rescuing Ryan – Syd Ryan – Ryan has meet the man of her dreams but will he move out of his own way to go for what he needs?
Perfect For Me – Alyne Hart tells a story of one man who has been broken by love but when she returns to town all bets are off, that is if he can mend his broken heart.
Call of Fate – Kelsey Cheyenne – Aubrey has had so much heart ache in her life that she wonders where her bad luck will end. So when Noah comes in to her life and offers her more she is afraid to break down her barriers, she would rather leave than risk the man she loves.
Loving Lindsey – Larissa Gail this lovely tale is about a firefighter named Gavin, he is a player and loves his life. He sees what his friends have and is envious of them. Can he give up his way of life when a beautiful officer comes to town after suffering a loss of her husband? I loved this story and would like to read more. Oh who am I kidding I loved them all.
This anthology of tales is a must for anyone it really makes you appreciate what these wonderful men and women go through. Don’t forget the tissues.

I had to have this anthology as soon as I saw it and one clicked it as quick as I could. I’ve read or wanted to read many of these authors and thought what better way to do that then to help a great charity.
What first drew me to this collection was KL Montgomery, she sits within the top of my favorites and is always an automatic one click, she has actually written a couple of my favorite books of all time so I could not resist. Reconstructed Heart was a quick yet complete story full of all kinds of emotions and Trey and Jenna had me all kinds of messed up. Took me a bit to warm up to Jenna yet I really like how her character was written. Trey won me over immediately and my heart went out to him as he worked through a devastating event involving a friend. How this author weaved the events of this story is just one of the reasons I love her so so much. I seriously loved that this was not an insta love type of story, I loved the caution that was taken by Trey even if I wanted to push him here and there lol I still loved how all that played out.
This collection was awesome, I got to experience authors I’ve wanted to read for awhile and I also have now stumbled on a few new to me authors that have me checking out what else might be available. It also opened my eyes a bit more as I was taken a bit closer to what our first responders deal with on an everyday basis. My respect has only grown more because of this.
Loved it and absolutely recommend everyone one click this amazing anthology!!

You know how “they” say not to judge a book by its cover? Well JAX MARLIN – TO CATCH A MARLIN would be a very difficult book to do that with. The graphic gives no hint as to what the story could be about and the blurb gives only a little hint as to what is found between the covers of this story.
What IS between the covers is a well developed story with great world building and a fully thought out story. It is a story of suspense and intrigue and futuristic developments. A vigilante, a detective and lots of moving parts keep a great this book interesting from beginning to end.
This is the first time I’ve read this author and I look forward to reading more.

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders 5 out of 5 stars
This is an incredible group of stories. Each one has wonderful characters. I really enjoyed Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery. This is an emotional story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found that I couldn’t put it down until I had finished. Trey Prince makes a horrible discovery when he goes to an accident scene. Trooper Jenna Labato tries to help him with the aftermath. Will Jenna be able to help him heal? What does the future hold for Trey and Jenna? Read the story to find out. Trey and Jenna are characters that I grew to care about. The story is an emotional one and my emotions went up and down reading it. Don’t miss out on this amazing story or this anthology. I highly recommend it.

Anything with Montgomery attached – I will buy it every time. And this anthology – heaven help my poor heart. Steamy first responders…every single book in this collection – an absolutely perfect story. I cannot single out any of them but truly loved each story. Montgomery continues to be a favorite and I’m glad she brought along some new friends to the party!

Jax Marlin: To Catch a Marlin is the first book in the To Catch a Marlin Series by T.K Toppin. This is my first book by Ms. Toppin- and I was seriously blown away by her fantastic story. She definitely got my attention, and has me excited to read the rest of the series. There are several more books in the series, available now- which I will be diving into asap- because if this first book is anything to go by, the rest of the series is set to be quite an exciting and fun ride. This is an addictive futuristic sci-fi adventure story- with mystery, suspense, action, thrills, and so much more. It’s like an old Noir detective story crossed with a vigilante graphic comic, then set in the future with spaceships, and all the futuristic technology. I was hooked before I had even begun to read the story. The incredibly beautiful, and quite intriguing cover instantly had my attention- then when I read the blurb, there was no question if I would read it- it was an instant one-click for me. I was soon caught up in all the intriguing development and action as it unfolded- following along to discover what would happen. Ms. Toppin’s world building skills are quite masterful, creating complex landscapes and ‘world/s’ in which to set her story. Her attention to detail is superb- crafting a world with its own unique flavour and feel- with advanced technology, transportation (both on-world and off-world), and incredible futuristic settlements/metropolis’. She has such a ‘visual’ quality to her writing- a dynamic feel that sets her story apart from others in the same genre. I really recommend this story, especially to those who love a great cat and mouse mystery- all wrapped up in a sci-fi wrapper. What’s not to love? Brilliant!

This is a great anthology that has ten hot stories of men and women working as first responders. Great authors, some new to me and others my favorite. Each story is different, you are sure to find your favorite among them. One of my favorites is Reconstructed Heart. I loved how I was pulled into the story from the beginning. Trey makes a nasty discovery at a scene of an accident. Now his heart and faith are in need of healing. Will Jenna be the one to heal him? I highly recommend this book.

What an incredible story! Somehow it managed to have all my favorite things…Pirates?! For Real. Jax Marlin is intelligent, tough and sexy. Michael Pedroni is a cop with a weary edge to him but honest and focused. It’s his job to bring her in. This story was a great adventure, suspense, action, deep introspection. Everything that makes a story good and unforgettable. The main characters are thoughtfully crafted, and have you hooked in at the get go. The main supporting characters are just as carefully crafted. So well described you have no difficulty picturing them. There is plenty of action packed scenes in this book and they are all artfully and thoroughly thought out. This doesn’t feel like an off the cuff story, this feels like and reads like an art form. I love strong female characters and Jax does not disappoint. Not gonna lie, I think I am a big fan of Jax Marlin and I will be looking for more adventures with her. If you’re looking for a good solid read with a wild ride, this is the book for you. You will not regret it.

Jax Marlin – To Catch A Marlin by T.K. Toppin is a sci fi story set in the future but not a future that is too farfetched. The story is about the relationship between a cop and a vigilante or should I say the love/hate relationship between the two. The story is fun and easy to read as TK’s story telling is uncomplicated and refreshing.
Jax Marlin does not see herself as a vigilante but the law doesn’t agree with her. She sets out to right the wrongs of very horrible people and with good reason. She reminds me of the Arrow.
Michael Pedroni is a Special Inspector sent to catch the vigilante but the chase is on.

I enjoyed this book, I look forward to reading more from this series. This is a well developed story with lots of action, suspense and even some romance. The characters are strong, well rounded and make the story realistic. Jax is a vigilante who has Special Inspector Pedroni right on her trail. The closer he gets the more intrigued he gets with her. Than you four big time criminals forming an alliance that Jax is out to stop. I highly recommend reading this book to see how it all will end.

In the tail end of the 24th Century, Special Inspector Michael Pedroni pursues Jax Marlin, a beautiful and elusive vigilante. It’s a wild cat and mouse chase that will take him from Earth to the Bacchus Dome and beyond.
Jax Marlin is not your average criminal. She seeks out evil-doers and law-breakers, doling out justice in whatever way she sees fit. But lately, she finds she’s been gift-wrapping criminals specially for her favorite copper.
Four of the world’s leading criminals are lining up to form an alliance. Jax is determined to stop them. Hot on her heels, Inspector Pedroni finds himself questioning the difference, if any, between her justice and his. More than that, he wonders why, when he’d had her in his grasps, he was unable to slap on the restraints and bring her in.
T.K. Toppin is a published author of Speculative Fiction/Science Fiction and SFR (Science Fiction Romance) novels and short stories. T.K. was born, raised and lives in Barbados where she spends most of her time either writing, painting, or procrastinating…not in that order, though she will say otherwise.

This series is so full of emotion, romance, suspense, and mystery that you fall in love with the characters. My Hidden Life is the first book and its the beginning of a wonderful journey. I would read these in order to get the most of them. This first book is so important because it introduces you to Alessandra Canzano The Princess of the Canzano family and everyone is looking out for her. In this book she is training each day and getting better and better. She is also becoming older and not wanting to follow all the strict rules that her father The Cappo puts in place. She must always come off as polished and perfect and also be ready to protect the family. She dreams of the freedom to where she can dress how she wants and be friends with who she wants. When another strike against her family happens she is ready to protect them with everything she has. Book 3 is My Free Life and Alessandra leaves for University and she has become the Cappo Donna. Her life is anything but free. She is in charge of her family and businesses in Italy and her father is not happy about it. She is working on an escape but there are so many obstacles in her way. Her father has become a monster because he can’t control her any longer and she is dying to leave. Will she ever be truly free. These books are so full of so many emotions.
