Girl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton is the third book by Madeline Dawkins. I recommend reading this series in order to get the full back story with Madeline and Mike. I have been in pulled into this world and feel like Madeline and Mike are my friends and I will do anything for them. Madeline really finds herself in a bind. She found herself into two different cases, one is sex trafficking and the other a missing person. There are some wild twists and turns that keep you on your toes. Cynthia Hamilton does an amazing job with painting the picture with her descriptive writing skills. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for Madeline in the future.

Girl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton was a book that was written well. I liked the plot, the suspense was insane and the book kept me mostly interested. There was to much going on at once. I felt the book was a lot for one book. Mike and Madeline were in 2 different places and it kept going back and forth every other chapter was about the other person. They were working two totally different cases so I feel like, going back and forth was pointless. I was more interested in Mike’s case but just when I thought I was going to get something good, the next chapter was about Madeline. Maybe this could’ve been two different books? Not sure! With that being said, I can’t believe what Madeline uncovered and Mike…..he’s good!!! I liked the characters as they were characters from previous books but there were quite a few others too.
Will there be a happy ending insight for all involved? Can Mike and Madeline both solve the cases they have or do they work better as a team?

I continue to enjoy this series from Hamilton and found the third installment to be a perfect summer vacation mystery. The heroine is best understood if the previous series books are read but this book can be read on its own. I found the characters continued to be engaging as in previous books and the plot kept me entertained from beginning to end. I look forward to seeing where the series takes me next!

I have absolutely become obsessed with Cynthia Hamilton’s Madeline Dawkins mysteries. Girl Trap is the third installment, and I would highly suggest that you read the previous two books in the series prior to this one for the best enjoyment and understanding. They are the best poolside reads though so perfect to slip in the beach bag and devour while soaking up some sun. Madeline is the type of character that I find myself wanting to be like and following her growth as a person and in her profession truly make these books multidimensional and completely fabulous.

Girl Trap finds Madeline and Mike twisted up in two dangerous and high stakes cases. The two and the team struggle with these and find themselves often working against each other and split. Both of them are looking for missing persons, will they be able to find them alive and well? Can they figure out how to work together in the end? You won’t find much more as far as details here, I couldn’t bear to spoil any of this delicious novel for you. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment, hopefully soon!

Wayward (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 1)Wayward by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Via Mari does it again in Wayward, her first book in the Billionaire Bodyguard series. This book is Sasha and Jay’s story but also other characters from her books pop in. In this book you will find drama, secrets, steam that will keep you wanting to read more and more. I love how Via Mari has such wonderful and complex characters and how I always find myself reading in one sitting. I am always so drawn into the story.
Sasha is a Russian Ballerina who is smart, beautiful and independent. And Jay is a bodyguard to two very wealthy men. As soon as these two meet, you can feel the attraction and the passion through the steamy scenes light up this book even more. What I loved the most is the questions I asked myself though the whole time reading. Can Jay overcome Sasha’s past? Can these two find the love they need and deserve in each other? And by the end, my questions were answered.
I highly recommend this five star read. You will find passion, tension, and suspense. Via Mari hit it out of the park with this one and I cannot wait to read more in this series!

Everything I have read by this author so far as been short but very enjoyable. She knows how to put enough details, story line and punch into a few pages and I love it.

Telly is a loveable character. His concern for the missing children and his initiative to find them is beautiful. How can all the kids go missing except for one? I would highly recommend this book. Read to find out what happens with the missing children and enjoy all the mystery revolving around this lone bus driver and his one companion. Will they be able to uncover the truth?

The ending and well the whole story really was very well written. I again want to stress how intelligent Jane is in that she can fit so much punch and impact in just a short amount of time. I have not read a book from her that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed.

Girl Trap was another enjoyable read from Cynthia Hamilton. I really like this authors writing style, I find that I am easily pulled into her stories, they have a great flow and pace and the characters are really interesting to read about. I really like Madeline, I feel like I am right there with her in the story at times working alongside her trying to solve the cases that she has. I think that her and Mike make a great team, they both work hard and won’t give in until they have solved what they need to. I enjoyed seeing them work separately as well as together in this story! There were some good twists and turns in this story, a good amount of suspense and mystery running throughout the story that had me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next.
I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Wayward is the first book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series. It takes place during the same time as the Torzial Affair series. It features Jay and Sasha as the main characters. Once again this author amazes me with how action packed and easy to follow her storyline is. I loved the steamy scenes as well. I loved learning about Sasha and her background. I cant imagine the heartache she felt from her father not claiming her and trying to kill her. This was such a wonderful book and I cant wait to read more in this series.

Children of the Future was a quick read for me. I have read other books by this author but, this was alittle different from what I’m used to. The local bus driver Telly shows up at the end of the school day and there is no one in sight. He checks the playground, the classrooms, the halls and every where he could think. The school children and teachers are all gone. He’s about to leave and he hears a sneeze. One of the school children named Billy was hiding in a small area. He seemed frightened and said he didn’t want to go and decided to hide. No one knows where all the missing kids and teachers are. All the locals come to take search shifts and look all over. Just when you think they will find the missing people, it turns out to be a dead end. Will the missing people ever be found? Will Telly give up or will he keep looking for answers?

Wayward (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 1)Wayward by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Wayward, the first book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by author Via Mari we are taken back into the world built in the Prestian series and the Torzial Affair. This time around it’s Jay, the head of security for Chase and Brian, and Russian ballerina, Sasha, whom we met in the earlier Torzial books. Once again, the main characters find themselves in situations that are both gripping and suspenseful and lend to the page turning action of situations that may not always be as they initially seem.
While this can be read as a standalone, I believe that it would be better to be read after the other two series. I really enjoyed this story, I liked Jay and how he was so in awe of Sasha from the beginning. I admired Sasha for her strength and determination throughout the story and that’s saying a lot since I really didn’t like her in the Torzial books. I look forward to the next book to see what is going to happen next to these intriguing characters.

I couldn’t stop turning the pages with this read, it’s definitely a unique, interesting and an imaginative read! This is also a book that as you read you try and mentally work out how things are going to play out with the mystery and suspense that was surrounding this book you also find yourself on the edge of your seat wondering whether what you think will happen, actually happen!

This was an incredible book that should not be missed! I highly recommend that you take the chance to read this boom and really enjoy it!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Children Of The Future by Jane Suen is a book that I found imaginative and interesting. It is what I would call a short story or novella. It had quite a way of grabbing my attention and holding it from the first chapter to the last. I enjoyed reading about the character of Telly. He is the town bus driver who one afternoon finds all of the children, with the exception of one, missing. Telly enjoys driving the children to and from school. He is quite concerned about the missing children and goes out to search for them along with Billy, the one child that he has found hidden in a cabinet. Will Telly and Billy find the children? Read this book to find out. The story has an atmosphere of mystery and I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. While the story is a bit shorter than some, I found myself identifying with the characters. I enjoyed many of them that are introduced and how they interact with Telly. Don’t miss out on a story that the author has made come alive. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Book 1
By Via Mari
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Romance and suspense and a whole lot of bodyguards. No spoilers here, you need to read it to believe it.

Sasha Koslov is a Ballerina from Russia. She is talented as well as a strong willed woman. When she finds herself in trouble, in comes Jay the head honcho with an elite security team. Not where he was supposed to be, Jay takes the woman and offers her protection. He really has no clue who she is, until trouble comes knocking at his door.

Via Mari has done it again. This story is a quick read. Only because once you start, you can’t put it down. It is full of action as well as a great romance story. I love her characters!! Jay and Sasha are both trying not to fall for the other. This story did not end like I had anticipated, I was wrong every time I thought I knew what would happen, I was wrong. I LOVE this series. Not for those under 18 due to adult theme.

Wayward by Via Mari was a great fast-paced story in a world that will have you turning the pages just to know what happens next. Jay is a bodyguard who works for Chase (Prestian Series) to protect Brian Carrington. After meeting Sasha for the first time, she is all Jay can thinking instead of doing his job. Sasha is a Russian ballerina who has ties to the mafia; she also thinks she’s unlovable. Can Jay make her see that he will do anything for her and love her the way she is meant to be? If you haven’t read Via’s other series, that’s okay each series can be read as standalone. But I recommend that you go read them.

Wayward is the first of Via Mari’s newest series, the Billionaire Bodyguards. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading anything from Ms. Mari, a little note, this is the spin-off series to her previously released Prestien Series and has some of the fabulous characters that came from them present. I don’t think its necessarily necessary to read those novels first, but I truly think that it enhanced my enjoyment and just made me even more of a fan of these fab people. I don’t think you would be disappointed one bit if you started from the beginning.

Now in this book we get the hot and steamy back stories of Jay and Sasha. I really grew to adore Sasha. Admittedly, I was skeptical that I could like her just based off of her character portrayal in previous novels, but man did Via Mari turned my opinion around right away. I truly love each of the backdrops and the way that Via makes you feel as if you are right there with the characters and enjoying each lavish scene around them right at the same time. Her writing is still strong, detailed, and gripping, only growing stronger with each book. I can’t wait to see what will come next for these fabulous characters that I have grown to love so much! Thanks for this fabulous read Ms. Mari!

Wayward by Via Mari is the first book in the Billionaire Bodyguards Series. This book is full of drama and intrigue. It will have you hooked from the start and does not let go!
Via Mari is a relatively new author to me but is one that I have already become hooked on. And this book is probably the best so far. I loved everything this book had going on. Right from the start I knew I was going to be in for a ride. The book had loads of drama. You could feel the tension and the chemistry between the characters.
In the best way possible I honestly felt like I didn’t know what was going on or what was going to happen. This author keeps you on the edge of your seat and firmly behind the characters. Which is amazing given that I didn’t really care much either way about Sasha in the Torzial Affair.
This was a brilliant book and a great way to start a new series.

Wayward is hands down the BEST book that I have read this year! I was hooked from beginning to end with this thrilling and exciting dark mafia read! It had everything I love in a story and more! I was swept along with the characters story and also to all of the places their story took me! The authors writing was beautifully detailed, I could imagine all of the places she was describing. I did feel like I really knew the main characters Jay and Sasha and I was so invested in their story from the past to the present to their future.
I have read quite a few books by this author and she never fails to bring me a story that I love but I can honestly say that this one is absolutely my favourite of hers – it was simply an outstanding read! It has gotten me very excited for what’s to come from the series and I cannot wait!!

I love reading Via Mari’s billionaire stories. First there was The Prestian Series, then The Torzial Affair and now The Billionaire Bodyguards! While I have not read The Prestian Series (yet), I loved the Torzial Affair. The three series mix a little with the characters. You don’t have to read one to understand the others but it sure helps and Mari’s writing style makes you WANT to read every word she writes!

Wayward is about Sasha and Jay. Sasha is a little lost and well “wayward”. But with the help of Jay she is able to figure out her own worth and eventually understands that she is not all on her own.
I love the inter-connecting of the story lines and characters. Not only do you get to “meet” new ones but you get to reconnect with old ones.

Looking forward to who’s next in the Billionaire Bodyguards series!

Wayward is the first book in the Billionaire Bodyguards by Via Mari and I was so happy to see some of my favorite characters from the two earlier series.

We know Jay from the Prestian series and holy cow, he is a lot more alpha than I was expecting. I think in my mind I pictures him as a teddy bear under all of the growling. I was so wrong but it works for him.

Sasha was a hot mess in our previous encounters with her and again at the beginning of this book, but she grew on me a lot and though at times I wanted to shake her, I saw a lot of growth in her as the story progressed.

Great way to begin this next series and I can’t wait to see who falls next.

Wayward (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 1) by Via Mari. Via Mari has become one of my favorite authors. I have loved every book I’ve read by her. This one is no exception. This is the story of Jay Head of Security for an Elite Security Team and Sasha, a Russian Ballerina who has ties to the Mafia. Jay is paid to protect 2 of the wealthiest men in the world. He has never felt like he needed to protect someone he’s not assigned to until he meets Sasha. Sasha is on a extended visa to America. She is beautiful, Strong, graceful and her performances are a sight to be held. Sasha has secrets and very bad ones at that. When Jay discovers Sasha’s secret and her being tied to the Mafia that is a danger to his clients will he continue to want to protect Sasha or will he protect his clients only. This book makes you feel like you know these people, like they are friends and you feel like you’ve visited the different places the book is set in. I love her writing and I love books that have characters from other stories continue in the next books! Read Wayward you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for the next book!

Girl Trap by Cynthia Hamilton is a novel belonging to the Madeline Dawkins Mystery series. This third in the series this book is every bit as interesting and fast paced as the previous two.
The author has created yet another story full of twists and turns. It is the type of book that keeps the pages turning. You just have to find out what is going to happen. And I know a lot of people aren’t a fan “unfinished” endings but I really enjoyed knowing there will be more to come from this series and these characters.
With each book I read the more attached I grow to Madeline. She makes a great one off character but an even better series character. You can really see her character development through the three books and I can’t wait to see what is next in store for her.

5-stars

Wayward by Via Mari is a phenomenal read! It’s steamy, action-packed, intense, detailed, suspenseful and completely unpredictable. This is the first book in Via Mari’s newest series Billionaire Bodyguards, and what a phenomenal start it is. From the very beginning I was hooked, and it didn’t let up until I reached the end. This book follows the same storyline from other series but with different POV’s, which I highly enjoyed. I can honestly say that this book can be read as a standalone, however, the storyline is so incredibly detailed when you have the whole picture.

So, having said that I can honestly say that this author managed to completely change my opinion on some of these characters. I felt really strongly about Sasha and her behavior in The Torzial Affair, yet she grew on me with her own story as I got to know her and connect with her. I love how dynamic her character is and I loved getting to know her.

I would recommend anything from this author as she never ceases to amaze me, and I honestly look forward to continuing with this series. This is a book you won’t want to miss!

The story Girl Trap (A Madeline Dawkins Mystery Book 3) by Cynthia Hamilton is the next exciting and amazing book in a series that I have loved since reading the first one. The author really knocks it out of the park with both the storyline and the characters. It is a book that once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I love reading about Madeline and her partner Mike Delaney. Madeline is an intelligent, independent, determined woman. Mike is a man who is resourceful. They believe that each of them are on a case to find those who are missing. Little do they know that all is not as it seems to be. What does the future hold for Mike and Madelina’s cases? Will they find the missing that they seek? Read this book to find out. This story has suspense, mystery, and danger. It is a story that didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. The author does an amazing job of making the book and characters come alive and I felt like I was right there with Mike and Madeline. There are intense moments and dialogue. I love how Madeline is so methodical when working a case and has learned to trust her instincts. Once Mike is on a case, he doesn’t stop until he finds out the truth. They are both characters I would love to have as a friend. I enjoyed reading about how the additional characters fit into the story and the part that they played. Don’t miss out on the next amazing story that will keep you guessing. Highly recommended.

Girl Trap (A Madeline Dawkins Mystery Book 3) by Cynthia Hamilton is another exciting book in this series. This book should not be read as a standalone as you will miss out on the back stories and how are characters came to where they are. Cynthia has done a great job of suspense and thrills and chills and weaving a story that has become addicting. We once again see Madeline and Mike trying to put the past behind them and move forward with their new Event and PI businesses but inevitably the past keeps coming back to haunt them.

In this book both Madeline and Milke take on missing person cases that split the team and stop them from working together. Madeline is on the case trying to find a missing daughter but what she uncovers shows who the real enemy is.

Mike is hired by his cousin to find his missing partner and her sister but what they uncover is something far more sinister than they ever could have imagined.

Now the two are in a race against time to find the truth and the women alive.

I really really enjoy this series and I look forward to more.

If you have read this author before, you know the amazing ride she takes the reader on.

This is the first book of a new series and there were a few times I wanted to throw my Kindle against a wall and scream. There were other times I chuckled at the back and forth of the characters and others where my heart broke.

This is a well-developed plot and the way characters are introduced held my attention from beginning to end. There is a certain delicateness yet wicked strength about this book (I know that’s a total contradiction). It ebbs and flows as the story evolves and the secondary characters play an important role in moving the story forward.

I absolutely will continue reading this story and I am adding it to my TBR again before I begin the next in the series.

I have always enjoyed reading this author’s works and recommend her and this story.

Appearances can be deceiving. And in Southern California, where the sun shines almost every day and make-believe has its own industry, it’s hard to tell what is real and what is merely illusion. Two inquiries come to MDPI on the same day that seem like fairly straight-forward missing person cases. But it doesn’t take long to discover there’s nothing ordinary about the disappearance of two beautiful sisters from Minnesota and an estranged heiress who has never touched her eight-figure fortune.

While Madeline’s partner, Mike Delaney, heads down to Los Angeles to search for his cousin’s vanished girlfriend and her sister, Madeline heads to San Luis Obispo in hopes of picking up a twelve-year-old trail at a Catholic boarding school. Their separate pursuits lead them into a world where a frightening reality hides behind a glossy veneer. With several lives hanging in the balance, Mike and Madeline are faced with daunting odds and ruthless criminals who will kill to keep what they have taken.

Though I was always an ardent reader, I was convinced I couldn’t string sentences together if my life depended on it. Fortunately for me, when I was looking for something creative I could do from bed—if my mystery illness progressed to that point—I decided to try my hand at it. No pressure, no expectations. I didn’t tell anyone what I was up to. I just wanted to see if I could string sentences together and tell an interesting story.

I remembered a quote by Hemingway, “Write about what you know.” With this mandate, I chose the time spent living with my husband in the French Quarter of New Orleans as the backdrop for my story. I typed out my first two paragraphs on my forty-third birthday. I finished that book on my next birthday, and started my second the same day. I now consider those my “practice books”.

As my still-nameless illness progressed, I continued running the family business and continued to write. Nine years after my symptoms began, I finally received a correct diagnosis: Lyme disease, and more specifically, late-stage Lyme, because it had been allowed to progress untreated for so long.

Though the pain was almost unendurable, I clung to my writing like a life preserver. It allowed me to crawl up inside my head, out of my body, giving me brief respites from the vast array of pains.

Though I would never wish this disease on anyone, I can honestly say I am grateful for the path my life took, for it gave me the gift of writing. I now have nine published books, all of which have special significance for me. I write general fiction, mysteries and some nonfiction.

Once Upon a Lyme: The Tale of Two Journeys, is the detailed account of the path my mystery illness led me down as I sought help from over two-dozen doctors, and the gift of writing that was the unexpected upside of being so hopeless ill.

Finding Ruth was inspired by a previously unseen photograph of my mother taken when she was nineteen. I found it as I was going through her things prior to her move into a skilled nursing hospital. That gorgeous photograph of her looking so happy and full of promise made me realize how little I knew about her life before I came along. Because Alzheimer’s has taken away all her memories, I painstakingly reconstructed her life from public records, thousands of photographs, and what my brother, sister and I could remember. The message in the tribute to my mom is Ask while you have the chance.

As of this writing, I have just completed the fourth book in the Madeline Dawkins mystery series. I’m still in love with writing and I still squeal with joy to think that I’ve written eleven books and self-published nine of them. If there is a message in this, it’s Never discounts what you are capable of achieving.

Shattered (the Torzial Affair)
Via Mari
4 out of 5 stars

Shattered is the first book in Via Mari’s Torzial Affair Series, this is the second series I plan on reading from this author. The first I read was great but I actually feel more invested in this one.
Via Mari is great about addressing this before jumping into the novel, but some readers may find subject manner triggering.
We met Jenny in Via Mari’s Prestian Series and she was a character I really took a liking to. I’m thrilled to see we are going to see her story.
Overall I’m impressed all around with this book and excited to see how the series plays out.
