This book is the sixth book in a series. I would highly recommend reading the series in order. Of all the books, this one is the only one that could possibly work as a stand alone. Whereas the rest of the series is about Cam, Freyja, and other main characters, this book is about their daughters Caitlin and Seraphina. I have read all of the other books and really enjoyed this follow up book about the daughters who are all grown up. We get to see how life has progressed on earth and the effects worldwide. I think because this book was about young people there was more language than in other books. Caitlin is very much a brat and highly intelligent and struggling to figure out where she fits in. I loved the story and recommend reading the entire series along with this book!

The Liminal Space, the second book in the Antipodes series, flows really well from the first book to the second. The author keeps the story moving from one event to the others seamlessly. A few times within the book, I couldn’t stop reading to find out what happened next. All the characters are very relatable especially when they describe their life stories.

The 45th Parallel is the sixth book in the Antipodes Series and is Sci-Fi/Romance that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. The characters are fully developed and relatable plus they take you on quite the adventure where survival of the human race is at serious risk. This authors style of writing along with amazing characters make for a epic story. I’ve read every book in this series and I must say this one is by far my favorite yet. It’s pretty intense and keeps you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This series honestly keeps getting better and better. When I picked up the first book I never imagined this series would be able to sustain this longevity or that I would enjoy it as much as I do and yet that is exactly what has happened. Each book just adds so much to the series overall and, like this one, is a brilliant story in its own right. I loved getting back into these characters and their lives. It took no effort for this book to draw me back into their world and have me engrossed from start to finish. I am reluctant to say that this was my favourite so far simply because they have all been so good. At the very least it is on par with the rest. This is a fantastic series and a brilliant book. I cannot wait for more!

Simons – Review by Kerry Baker
Caitlin and Seraphine are fed up with their lives being ordered around and planned for them. They long for adventure! One way to get to an adventure faster is to reactivate the Nexus that their parents shut down fourteen years ago. Imagine their surprise when they do such and then find themselves in a completely different community; one they never even knew of existing. They quickly learn that there are more communities like the one they landed in, and they are all underwater. While some of the communities have thrived as best they can, other communities have become more militaristic in their pursuit to stay alive. All of the lessons that they have learned over the years, be it by schooling or punishment, serves them in their very real situation of trying to stay alive long enough to contact home. Can they get back home at all? Or will they have opened up home to invasion by the communities that are struggling to survive? Will there even be a home to return to?
This was a fascinating read for me! Having read this series from the beginning, it was fun to see the girls’ point of view on how they saw things transpire. The book is from Caitlin’s point of view, and she is a 21-year-old struggling to come to grips with what it means for her to have a “special role” to fulfill in order for mankind to even have the possibility of living outside the domes and underwater communities. I think the author caught her angst of wanting to be on her own, but guilt at how she snuck around, and also leading her sister into danger. It was interesting to find out there were whole new communities and their struggles; seeing how they chose to deal with dwindling resources. While some exceeded expectations, other grew hostile and guarded.
I am looking forward to seeing the next installment in this series and what the author adds next!

Antipodes by T. S. Simmons is a very intriguing book. Not only have I learned several new things but also the characters are very relatable, especially Cam. Reading this book definitely brings a different perspective on how people from different ways of life come together to work towards the same goal.

The 45th Parallel Antipodes Series Book 6 By: T.S. Simons Review By: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
I hope this book isn’t the last one in the Antipodes series! I am obsessed! T.S. Simons creates a wonderfully unique world that is amazing to explore, where both the characters and setting are completely mesmerizing. The 45th Parallel and the Antipodes series itself is full of great detail and emotional pull. It takes you on this grand adventure where you will find tension, mystery, romance, and the unexpected. I know I will be thinking about Sera and Cait for a while to come and asking myself what if? T.S. Simons gives you everything you want in a series where the installments just get better and better. I love her style and I am truly looking forward to picking up more of her work in the near future! I highly recommend the Antipodes series to any lover of the Sci-Fi genre, you will not be disappointed!

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in the Antipodes series, I was looking forward to this novel, and I was not disappointed. I would personally recommend reading these novels in order, so you have a better understanding of the continuing storyline. Set in the same dystopian world where a virus decimated the planet, this novel centres on Caitlin and Seraphine. They have both grown up on Lewis and have an ordered and calculated life. They are both ‘immune children’, created by the previous regime in order to ensure the survival of the human race. As there are only a few surviving communities left on earth, the girls destiny weighs heavily on them. Cait and Sera are expected to have babies that will then be immune like they are, they are told that their role, “in re-settling the world is critical”. However, the girls reject this role and so they leave to embark on a thrilling and dangerous adventure, reactivating the Nexus, and discovering new worlds. By doing this Cait and Sera are endangering not only themselves but their loved ones. Once again I was drawn in to the world created by the author, who brings both the setting and characters vividly to life through the detailed, descriptive narrative. I loved the main characters Cait and Sera and the dynamic between them. I was gripped throughout and was kept happily turning the pages.

This is the 6th book in the Antipodes series and is 340 pages in length. This story follows Caitlin and Seraphin from their POV. They grew up on Lewis and were created to make sure the human race survives. A virus has taken out most of the planet, but they are immune as they were created to resettle the world. But what if they don’t want to? Follow these two on their many adventures. I’ve read the previous books and thought they were done – I was pleasantly surprised to see this!

This book is the 6th book in the Antipodes series. I had the pleasure of reading the whole series and this book didn’t disappoint. This Sci-fi series takes place in a post apocalyptic world full of adventure, mystery, challenges, and so much more. You won’t want to miss any part of this book or the rest in the series.
The author takes great care in writing this last book so we keep engaged with the many characters we’ve come to know so well as we read about what is happening with them in this book. The way the author shares this world and makes us the readers see that world she created is what keeps me interested and evolved as I read.

I have loved this series so much! I really really enjoy the authors writing style and how they know what they are writing about. It is such a great story and is something I can see actually happening in reality one day. I definitely recommend reading the whole series and in order to best understand the story. This one is written from Sera and Caitlyn’s point of view on their adventures making new discoveries. I was up late reading this book as I did not want to put it down needing to know what happened next. There is action and new love along with more into the back story of the characters. This story took many unexpected turns. To say I am looking forward to the other stories is an understatement!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up this author’s books as I know that I am in for an adventure. This book is no different. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story come to life. The characters pulled me into the story from the start. They took me on an adventure of new worlds and survival of a human race is at risk. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot as well as the characters. It added to the enjoyment and entertainment of the story. This is a fast paced story that I found hard to put down. I enjoyed the adventure and I highly recommend this book.

This is the 6th book in the Antipodes Series and it is definately one you need to read from the beginning. I have read them all and I have loved reading about the characters how their lives have changed and they have grown as well as all the challenges, loves, loss and danger along the way and this next installment is no different.
This story is following Caitlin and Seraphine. Both of these girls have been born with one specific role in life. To have babies and continue to populate the domes with people who have a better immunity to the disease that killed so many people. Because of their genetics any offspring then have will also carry the same genes and immunity. But what happens when you don’t want to follow the path that has been laid out for you. Why can’t you just be your own person following your own dreams and desires wherever it may lead you? This is exactly the situation that Caitlin and Seraphine find themselves in. Their journey is one full of danger, conflict and love as well as secrets that will be revealed. The question is what would you do if it was a choice between your happiness or saving your whole community? This is what our 2 girls need to work out and it’s no easy task as they are challenged at every turn. We meet new characters and see new worlds all the while witnessing the growth of Caitlin and Seraphine. This is one sci-fi adventure that will keep you turning pages until the end.

This author has again done an extraordinary job of adding to this series. Continuing with the story of Cait and Sera and the communities around them, she gives us adventures and drama. Again, what would you do if survival of everyone were put on your shoulders? The characters are written so well. They all blend into the story so nice. Cait and Sera make a perfect team. They each bring their own personalities and gifts. I can’t wait to read the next book. This is one of my favorite series and I’m glad to see more on the horizon. This plot just sucks you in from book 1 and you don’t want to leave ever.

Brilliant! This series is one of my favourite sci-fi series and just goes from strength to strength. The 45th Parallel is the sixth book in the Antipodes series but is more of a spin-off. This book follows Cait and Sera, children of the main characters from previous books, as they navigate the new world. Discoveries are made, lives are threatened and ambitions are questioned. Each of the characters has depth and it was great to see characters from the previous books through the eyes of others. This series needs to be read from the start to really appreciate the dystopian world that the author has created. Highly recommend.

The 45th Parallel is the sixth book in the Antipodes series by T.S. Simons. This story actually extends the original Antipodes series, which I thought had finished with the previous book- so colour me happy! As with the rest of the series, this is a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi story with a dystopian feel, some romance, adventure, danger, drama, challenges, surprising developments, tension, mystery, and plenty of emotion. Wow- if I thought the original five books were intense, then this takes things to a whole new level. So much has happened throughout the Antipodes adventure since it started way back in Book One- but things aren’t going to settle down any time soon as Ms. Simons hasn’t finished putting her characters to the test. Here, we follow Cait, Sera, and their community of survivors as this new adventure embarks- discovering new worlds, and encountering dangerous situations will put them and all those they love at extreme risk. What happens makes for a thrilling read. Looking forward to seeing what the next couple of books have in store for us! Happy Reading!

We have been on bit of a journey with the five books in the Antipodes Series, Antipodes, The Liminal Space, Ouroboros, Caim, and Sessrumnir. I thought I had said goodbye. Now we have The 45th Parallel which is an extension on the Antipodes series. The 45th Parallel is a Sci Fi romance that has emotions running high. It is an even bigger journey that could have long standing effects for everyone. It is easy to get lost in the story and become invested in the characters and the journey they are on with new worlds and new characters. There is one thing I have learnt from reading TS’s books and that is expect the unexpected and that is why her books don’t become stale. There is always something new and exciting that comes to light. What would you do if the survival of everything rests on your shoulders? Would you do your duty, or would you want to live your life? I am not going to give away any spoilers but will say start with the Antipodes series and work your way through to this book. If you don’t then you are really missing out. I can’t wait to read the other books in this new series, Orenda, and Bifrost.

The Antipodes series addresses the question—if we gave young people the opportunity to start over, would we replicate the mistakes of the past?
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, post-graduate qualifications in governance and management, and is an accredited company director. She enjoys reading, travelling, mythology, and snow skiing while attempting to live as sustainably as possible. 4.4/5 Stars This was my first read of the series and by the author. I do think in order to be fully emerged into this world, you will need to have read books 1-4 to completely understand what’s going on. However, I did enjoy reading this book! The characters were relatable and realistic in the way they handled the situations thrown at them.

This book is the 5th book in a series and brings the series to conclusion. I enjoyed this book as I did the entire series. I highly recommend reading the other books in order first, before reading this one. There are a lot of characters and would be quite confusing if starting with this book. This book follows Freyja and is told from her point of view, rather than from Cam’s. She wrestles with herself a lot and is struggling with PTSD. She wrestles with not feeling like she’s enough and that resonated soundly with me. I really enjoyed the mystery and danger in this one. I could not figure out who was behind it. The book (and series) was well written and highly enjoyable! You won’t regret reading it!

Just brilliant! I have put off reading this book due to it being the (possible) last book of the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book and this just made reading this one a little bit harder. The author has brought the whole series brilliantly together and the imagery draws the reader into a dystopian world that has so many parallels to our own. I loved seeing the characters grow and how the tribe came together to face adversity time and time again. This instalment has heightened emotions as it focuses on the children. I can not recommend this series enough. A keeper.

I just love this series and this book……..was soooooo fantastic. This is book 5 in the series and I highly recommend reading this series in order from the beginning to this final book. The author gave me so much in this story…..romance, danger, action and so much emotion….my heart!!
We fast forward a few years in this book just when you believe life is a bit peaceful, the children are being attacked…..Cam and Freyja must protect them and work together by doing so. Can Cam and Freyja find a way in order to save the children and loved ones?
This book is so packed with emotion……the author truly just had me right from the beginning up until the end. This book is truly a bittersweet end that was so well written.

This author did wonders with this story! I have enjoyed each book in this series. Book 5 kicked my motherly instincts into overdrive, and I felt /related to that urgency and drive to protect your children and those you love. This new world was preceded by one where you literally had to pick and choose life or death and as book 5 ends the series you see all the strides made in love, friendship, maturity and so on. The series comes to its conclusion in the final book. This Sci-fi series takes you on a journey you may not have expected. The characters are well written and the world building the author does is amazing. Many aspects of life is brought up throughout the series and book 5 is no exception. Love, marriage, children, and so much can affect your thinking, emotions and even our future. It was great to see the support that Freya and Cam had. I appreciated the author taking the time to share the struggles Freya, Cam and the children go through and help me connect with them. It’s a greet series that I can’t wait to recommend to friends.

Cam and Freya are back in and their children are quickly growing up and albeit they aren’t together, they are still trying to raise them right, despite the arguments and cold feelings between them, but just as Freya feels like she can finally move on, she is told to pack a bag quickly as she has to leave Lewis and her home she is currently sharing with Illyria. She is shocked and wants an explanation as to why, but she is told that she will be told soon, but for now they have to leave immediately, but when she sees that Cam and some of the children, as well as others from the island community are leaving too, she is even more confused and angry that she will be on a ship with Cam.
As soon as they leave Lewis in an emotional flurry, Freya is told that they will be making a stop on Moussa, a small island where the land is healthy so that they can top up on anything they can find which will be of use for a prolonged trip, but when she and Cam are abandoned and left to “Sort.It.Out” on the island by the others, she is more than just angry, she is infuriated and grabs what she needs for solitude, food and warmth, however, it isn’t enough to stave off the cold for long and so after a couple of days she goes on a long walk round the island to warm up. This is where she finds Cam lost in his memories of the last time they were on the island, but she doesn’t get away in time and the fall into another argument, but this time, it ends in more than just harsh words and her stomping off, it ends in understanding and renewal of the passion they both thought had disappeared.
As the days pass and Cam and Freya reunite and sort things out, they see the boat returning, this is where Freya finds out the real reason they had to leave in the middle of the night without saying goodbye, the children they have brought with them are in danger and until they know who is behind the threat, nowhere is safe, so they try and find somewhere they can regroup until the danger passes, but will anywhere be safe and to what lengths will the group go to, to protect their children? This is another epic dystopian which will carry you further on the wave this series has created and relationships and motives are questioned, love, loss and emotions are running both high and low as friends, partners, parents and communities are pushed to breaking point to protect those they love and you will join them all on this rollercoaster of a story until you all know how it ends.

Book 5 of the Antipodes series keeps the action and intrigue going. You will fall into this story and forget you are reading! If you like dystopian thrillers that make you think and fall in love with the characters, this whole series is wonderful. The character development is some of the best I have seen in a series as this author really has an intelligent, thorough storytelling style. I very much appreciate that the characters deal with anxiety because I feel it is something that needs to be talked about and normalized. The author could write 10 more books of this series, and I’d be perfectly fine with that.

I’ve really enjoyed the Antipodes series and the author has maintained the high standards of the entire series in this concluding finale. As with the other books, there’s plenty of sci-fi/dystopian, environmental and mythological themes, which I really enjoyed. But most of all, I was so keen to see where the characters would end up and the ending was satisfying. I’ve really enjoyed going on this journey with these characters and I will miss them. Highly recommend this whole series.

This is such a great series! The author did a fantastic job of making the characters seem so real. There is a little bit of everything in this series, so that alone makes it a must read for anyone. With everything that has happened, they are trying to look to the future and create a new normal. It has been six years since Caim has ended. Children are being attacked and they must now come together to save their family. Now is the time to end this once and for all.
