Such a cute holiday book. Who doesn’t love kittens? I loved how the story shows that kittens are a lot of work and love to get into places they shouldn’t. The love the family shows is heartwarming. This was another great book in the series.

I loved this book about being prepared for a hurricane. Being ready for a storm with kits for the family and one for Oscar and Emmy as well. I don’t live where there are hurricanes so I found this book very informative for those living in areas that do have storms. The book explains the steps in a fun simple way to keep children informed and entertained.

I thought this was a great tool for many. it is a children’s book however, adults should also know the important details that are mentioned. I for one, go down in my basement annually and change out the cat / dog food we have set aside. We also have kits for the humans and for the pets. Keeping our pets safe and calm is very important in any emergency. I loved how the twins understand how important it is.

The author is able to handle this topic really well and explain it to kids. I just wish my kids were younger. I definitely would recommend this to parents with kids. The characters are well written and the illustrations to this book are really good. I definitely would read more from this author.

Oscar & Emmy Weather a Hurricane by Terri Sabol. This is such a fun series that makes you laugh out loud and also teaches you a lesson. This is the story of Oscar & Emma, rescued kittens that Abby & Charlie take care of. Abby & Charlie are siblings and they have been taking care of the kittens since they came to their family. In this story Hurricane Harvey is coming and the kids are learning everything they need to know to prepare for that storm. Not only do they need their supplies but they will also need the kittens supplies. This cute book even includes a list of things that would be needed for your pets. These books are always a great gift idea for the younger child in your life and even for a teacher. They make a great addition to any library.

My 7yo son and I have read quite a few of these books. We always enjoy them. The illustrations are always bright and colorful. This one is not any different. All of the other books I have read in this series include education about something within the story. As well as helpful tips or information at the end. This one is different. This story is just a beautiful, light hearted Christmas story about Oscar and Emmy’s first Christmas. We loved it just the same as the others.

I love these Oscar and Emmy books. I have read a few of them with my 7yo son. He also always enjoys them. They are not only fun and entertaining, they are also full of life lessons and education. That doesn’t make them boring though. The author weaves essential information right into the story. Often, at the end, the author includes super helpful lists or information about what the story was about. This one in particular deals with an extreme hurricane. It teaches kids (and possibly even parents) how to be prepared to handle a hurricane. Especially with tips for pets! This book includes a list at the end that you and kids can use to be prepared.

I have enjoyed all of the books that form part of this series so far, but I think this one must be my favourite so far. Partly, this is due to the fact my kids enjoyed it the most, with the Christmas theme to this one. They loved following the adventures of Oscar and Emmy during the festive period. It is also partly because of the images in this book. The whole series has been full of vivid and brilliant illustrations but the ones in this book are just incredible. They really bring the whole story to life and reinforce the festive feeling this books holds. The book was fun to read, and it one we have already read multiple times. We are all looking forward to what else is to come next.

Sweet book. I love the art work in the Oscar and Emmy books, the cats looks so cute and cuddly. I really like that in Oscar and Emmy books you learn something, and this book is all about hurricanes and how to protect yourself and your family in an event. There is a page that shows what you should grab in regards to your animals such as, food, water, medicines, paperworks etc. I never would have though to move as much as you can, if you have time, to your top floor if you have one, to try to keep as much as possible. The ending when the Charlie and Abby see others have struggled during the hurricane and tell their parents they want to help. Teaching kids to help others is beautiful.

Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane By Terri Sabol 5 Stars Our family absolutely loves the Oscar and Emmy books!!! They are always cute and informative as well as captivating enough for the littles to pay attention to the story. This one there is a Hurricane coming and the family has to prepare for disaster. They pack an emergency kit for them and the cats, spend the night in the basement to keep safe and end up having to leave the next day due to an evacuation. Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane was a great addition to the Oscar and Emmy Series, all of them have been great so far. This children’s book was super important, and so very informative. It stressed the importance of having an emergency box for each member of the house and making sure that when a storm is on its way you should get them out, updated, and ready. It also stressed the need to evacuate if told to do so. It had wonderful illustrations throughout, information about Hurricane Harvey, lots of fun, useful information, and resources told in a fun, easy to understand way.

The story is very realistic on what happens during a hurricane. The author shows how having pets is a great responsibility and how the children in the story are very helpful. I love how the author incorporates the quirks of Oscar and Emmy to give the readers some relief during the story. The artwork is very well done also.

Are you ready for a hurricane? Do you have what you need for your pets during this emergency? That is the information you will find in this story of Oscar and Emmy. Abby and Charlie take their pets seriously. They love Oscar and Emmy and want to keep them safe as all fur baby people should do. The author has opened up ideas that even I did not know when it comes to pets. The story may be true but it has so much to tell. Your children will learn through reading. My family really enjoyed reading this story. The author also included a list of things to have ready at the end of the book. So much was to be learned as well as fun to be had. I look forward to reading and learning more about Oscar and Emmy.

Oscar and Emmy’s First Christmas is the fifth book in the Oscar and Emmy series by Terri Sabol, but takes us right back to the beginning when Oscar and Emmy were kittens, spending their first Christmas with their newly adopted furever family. It is a cute, uplifting children’s story that is woven around some really lovely illustrations. This is an adorable story, and we follow along as the kittens experience all the wonders of Christmas- getting into a little mischief along the way. Climbing the Christmas tree and delighting in all the wonderful holiday additions to the home, and holiday traditions that make Christmas such a special time of the year. It made for a very charming adventure story, with all the trademark touches I have come to expect form Terr Sabol’s stories. The illustrations, as expected, were delightful, interesting, colourful, and engaging. Another heartwarming story to add to the series. And even though this is the fifth book in the series, it could be read as a standalone, without feeling like you are missing anything that has happened in the other books. But having said that, each book contains its own adventure- they are all cute stories that the young, and young at heart, will enjoy reading. My grandson loved reading this book with me and seeing what Oscar and Emmy got up to on their Christmas adventure. Well worth the read. The Series contains (so far): -Oscar and Emmy get rescued (Book #1) -Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane (Book #2) -Oscar and Emmy Visit Grandma (Book #3) -Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet (Book #4) -Oscar and Emmy’s First Christmas (Book #5) -Oscar and Emmy Gain a Friend (Book #6) -Oscar and Emmy Lose a Friend (Book #7) -Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens (Book #8) Happy Reading…

Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane is the second book in the Oscar and Emmy series by Terri Sabol. This was an interesting children’s adventure story, with an important message about being prepared in the event of a natural disaster. We all know the importance of having emergency kits packed and ready in case a disaster hits, and having all the things we might need packed and stored ready for use. But when you are new to having a pet in your life, you might overlook having an emergency kit packed and ready with all the things that your pet/s will need (as well as all you family’s needs), or just remembering to check the kits regularly and to replace expired items. So, this is a helpful reminder and covers everything you will need to include in a pet emergency kit (things such as food and water, medications, leashes/collars, pet crates, potty supplies etc). The story is inspired by the author’s own experience/s during natural disasters. Another great instalment in the Oscar and Emmy series. The Series contains (so far): -Oscar and Emmy get rescued (Book #1) -Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane (Book #2) -Oscar and Emmy Visit Grandma (Book #3) -Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet (Book #4) -Oscar and Emmy’s First Christmas (Book #5) -Oscar and Emmy Gain a Friend (Book #6) -Oscar and Emmy Lose a Friend (Book #7) -Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens (Book #8) Looking forward to seeing what other adventures they get up to. We have enjoyed several of Oscar and Emmy’s adventures and this one has a little deeper meaning. I like that Terri has written a tale about animals and what it is to be prepared for them in an emergency situation. We are able to find many things in regard to preparation for humans but little for our furry friends. This fun tale is aimed at children aged 3 – 9 years and is told through the POV of kittens and children. It shares the importance of what is happening, being safe and prepared, having loving friends around you in a scary time and helping others. Adults could learn a thing or two as well. As always, the illustrations by Natalie Merheb are beautifully done and bring the story to life.

Terri Sabol is an accomplished children’s book author, renowned for her heartwarming and entertaining stories featuring the real-life adventures of her two beloved rescue kittens, Oscar and Emmy. Born and raised in Texas, Terri developed a love of writing and storytelling at a young age, and always dreamed of one day becoming an author. Thinking that was out of reach, she focused on her other dream… teaching.
After graduating from college with a Masters degree in education, Terri worked as an early childhood teacher, and it was during this time that her passion for picture books truly blossomed. She was inspired by the joy and wonder that children experienced when reading and listening to stories, and it was this love for inspiring young minds that led her to create her own series of children’s books.
Terri’s debut book, “Oscar and Emmy Get Rescued”, was published in 2016, and told the heartwarming story of how she came to adopt her two kittens from the animal shelter where she volunteered. The book was an instant hit with children and parents alike, and it quickly became clear that there was a demand for more stories featuring Oscar and Emmy and to help educate children on the importance being involved in pet care.
Over the years, Terri has continued to write new books in the series, each one capturing the unique personalities and quirks of her two adventurous cats. Her books not only entertain children, but also promote the values of compassion and kindness towards animals, as well as the importance of rescue and adoption.
In addition to her Oscar and Emmy series, Terri has also written several other books showing off her writing skills, including “Green With Envy” and “Kneading a Winning Idea”.
When she’s not writing, Terri can be found spending time with her two rescue kitties, Oscar and Emmy. She also loves travelling and exploring new places and visiting old favorites, all the while taking inspiration for her next book. Through her stories, Terri hopes to inspire children to explore the world around them, to embrace their imaginations, to never give up on their goals, and to always be kind and compassionate towards others, especially animals.

Yet another book that I wish every shelter and rescue could have 🐾❣️
Having been involved myself with feral care and fostering this story really touched me and the thing is children are like sponges and if we can get the mindset right at the foundations then we have great building blocks for the future ….
Adopting and fostering is a big step and this book and it’s illustrations explain everything so beautifully and both adults and children can learn so much from this read 🐾❣️📚lessons in caring and nurturing is given but also the harder part , letting go to their new homes and that’s a life lesson that is both heartbreaking and rewarding 🥰
I’d love to have copies in my school library to share with my little friends !

Oscar and Emmy’s family have started to volunteer at their local animal shelter where they read to the residents there who are waiting to be adopted.
One day, they bring some tiny kittens’ home with them, and Oscar and Emmy immediately lend a hand by helping them to settle into home life and treat these temporary residents like family, or at least until they are adopted by another family.
This is a lovely book about how to start looking at fostering young kittens, what goes into looking after them and the responsibilities involved, and it is done in an easy-to-understand way which everyone can learn from.
Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens by Terri Sabol is part of the Oscar and Emmy Series. This was the first book I have ever read in this series. It is so cute and educational. We follow Charlie and Abby twin siblings who love their cats Oscar and Emmy. The family decides to foster baby kittens. The story is so cute and heartwarming. It also helps explains to kids in an easy-to-understand way the responsibilities that go into fostering an animal. While also showing how rewarding it can be. This is a great read for young children. Especially to help them understand the concept of fostering. The illustrations were also really cute. This is a 5 out of 5 stars for me!

I have loved all of the books in this series, but this one may just be my favorite! I read it with my 8-year-old and 12-year-old kiddos who also loved it. I feel like the author does an amazing job explaining the process of fostering animals and not just including only the fun parts. We always love the illustrations and these beautiful pictures fit in well with the rest of the series. It promotes reducing the crowds in animal shelters and explains how much fostering benefits everyone involved! I highly recommend picking up this lighthearted but incredibly educational book on fostering kitties. It would be a wonderful fit for your home or your classroom!
