This was such a sweet second chance friend romance. I enjoyed reading and couldn’t put it down. Ashley is back in town for her twin sister’s wedding to Ashley’s ex boyfriend. It’s been exhausting trying to convince everyone that she’s fine and just wishes them happiness. Jennings decides to take a chance and step in to help Ashley sell that she is over her ex. It’s risky for him though because of the feelings he has for her. Will Jennings chance be worth the risk?
I really enjoyed this book as I did other books in the series. The characters were fun to read about and it was such a sweet and sexy read!

5 Star Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott is a Contemporary second chance romance that once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I love Christmas romance stories. I’ve always wanted a Christmas wedding. Ashley and Eric,they dated for a while but he never asked her to marry him. Turns out he’s got feelings for her twin sister Taylor and she’s got feelings for him as well. She was worried she’d hurt Ashley. Now Ashley is home and the Maid of Honor in Eric and Taylor’s wedding. Jennings Hill is Ashley’s old friend and he starts to come around again. Find Out what happens next. I loved this book and I highly recommend reading . I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas series.
There are so many things I liked about this story, Jennings sounded absolutely swoon worthy and Ashley was too adorable. They just fit so well with one another even when they were kids and didn’t even realize it.
I love reading books that take place in Texas and just imagine they are somewhere close to Austin which is where I’m at. I was disappointed that Ashley was and Aggie, but not everyone is lucky enough to bleed the Burnt Orange and it didn’t stop me from living her.
I have enjoyed each of the books I have had the pleasure of reading in this series and looking forward to the next one, which I’m assuming is Carter’s story.

This story is wonderful to read. It is romantic and sweet. I loved the characters of Ashley and Jennings. I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. Their story pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the final page. There are so many moments when I had a smile on my face and saying “aww.” There are other characters that are enjoyable to read about. The book is entertaining and well-written. The ending came far too soon and I found myself wishing it was longer. This is a story I would recommend reading.

I have read all of the previous books in this series and I have loved them all. It was great to see one more Hill man fall in love. Jennings has loved Ashley since he was fourteen. Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas was a great 5 star read and book four in the Hills of Texas series.
Ashley has gone home for the holidays and her sister’s wedding. She has avoided going home for two years, it’s time she finally comes home to face the inevitable. The catch is that her sister’s fiance is Ashley’s ex.
While out with the girls for the bachelorette party Ashley literally runs into a blast from the past. Jennings Hill, the man that used to be her best friend when they were growing up. When she started dating, Jennings changed and treated her terribly. He ends up taking a drunk Ashley to her hotel and stays to help her. This is where things get complicated.
Jennings has always had feelings for Ashley and now that she’s home things are stirring again. And when the local rumor mill starts up things get very interesting for them.
Can these two finally get together and have a HEA? Or will Ashley leave town once the holidays are over?
If you’re looking for a fun romance with some LOL moments and great characters this is the book for you. Kadie Scott pulled me in with her writing and I didn’t want to stop until I was done. I can’t wait to read more from the series 1-click and get started today.

It is a contemporary second chance romance that will restore your faith in men and have you falling in love with the youngest of the sexy Hill men. As with all books I have read by this author the moment I started reading this book I found myself lost within it. The characters were fun to read about – the connection between Jennings and Ashley was obvious and it was great that they already had a friendship built up. I could easily see their interactions and found them all to be enjoyable. The story was easy going and well written. It is the perfect lazy afternoon type book. The author does a great job a painting the picture of what is happening. This series has been entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable so far, I can’t wait to see what else is to come.

This book is a must read for anyone who loves a wonderful friends to lovers/contemporary holiday romance. It is a fun read that entertained me from beginning to end. If you have been following the ‘Hills of Texas’ series then you definitely won’t want to miss this story- you should definitely grab yourself a copy of this book and dive in ASAP. And if you are new to this series, or Kadie Scott’s work- then don’t worry, because this book can be read as a standalone, but be warned- there are recurring characters in this book/series, so be prepared to be intrigued enough by them to want to go back and to discover more about them all, by reading the other three books. Ashley Hughes would love to just skip Christmas this year. She’s been avoiding going back ‘home’- but now she doesn’t have a choice because her twin sister is getting married. Now normally a Christmas wedding would be so romantic- but not when your twin is marring your Ex! Added to her stress is also knowing she will have to face the sexy cowboy who had once been her best friend- whilst dealing with the small-town rumour mill. Jennings, who we’ve met in previous books, is the youngest of the Hill brothers. He’s charming and has a ‘history’ with Ashley. He’d always wanted to be more than just ‘friends’ with Ashley- and now she’s back having to deal with an awkward and painful situation. When he ends up being her ‘plus one’ to the wedding, it and may just ignite the spark that has been simmering between them. This story was just like listening to a great country music song- with all the angsty, push-pull, broken hearts, mending fences, and finding love again. Ms. Scott proves to be a great storyteller who knows her craft and never fails to deliver a wonderful story. This would make a great Christmas movie too. I can’t wait to continue this series. I love Christmas books! They always get me into the moos for the holiday season no matter when I read them!
Ashley would love to do anything but deal with her hometown and all their whispers about her sister marrying her ex! Ashley has absolutely no feelings for him what-so-ever but that’s something no one believes. Enter Jennings, the ex best friend and person who is now her savior. He wants to help her out when it comes to town rumors but then rumors are linking them together romantically. The feelings stir but they are both too stubborn to admit it to one another! Will their stubbornness keep them apart?

I loved being able to see the Hill family again in this book, and finally Jennings book! You don’t need to read the other books to read and follow this book. This story had something that I’ve not read about but maybe once or twice before, and it was done so well. Jennings, i knew he was a big teddy bear under all the quick witted comebacks and sarcasm. He and Ashley had some history and I was so hooked on how this was going to play out. And I loved seeing the other brothers in this story, even if they were just small interactions. The chemistry was off the charts here, they just needed to open their eyes and see it. Can’t wait for more from this author.

I found Ashley so relatable as a character. Running away, fiercely independent, and over the small town gossip. Jennings has a lot on his plate and his feelings for Ashley are starting to come to the surface. I loved all the twists and turns and could not put this book down.

When I first read the book’s description I knew I was in for a treat and From the very first page, I was hooked and could not stop until the very end and once I reached the end I was sad and immediately wanted to read it again. The Characters were very well rounded and able to relate to. This is the first book by Kadie Scott I have read but it will not be my last. I couldn’t get enough. Ashley was everything a woman should be feisty yet sweet. Jennings is the Epitome of a sexy Cowboy!

Claiming The Cowboy For Christmas is the 4th book in the Hills Of Texas series by Kadie Scott. I have to say that this has been my favourite book in the series, although I have loved the others. This is a beautiful friends to lovers romance with a bit of a difference. Ashley Hughes has come home to be bridesmaid at her twin sister’s wedding…to her ex. Added to that her best friend from childhood, Jennings Hill, who she fell out with due to her relationship with her ex, will be there. Jennings has been in love with Ashley since they were 14 and is out to convince her that he is the right man for her. One issue being that Jennings is convinced she’s still in love with her ex. I absolutely loved the characters of Ashley and Jennings. Ashley is trying so hard to prove to everyone that she isn’t still in love with Eric while fighting with the feelings she has for Jennings. Jennings is actually such a sweetheart, I totally adored him. The outward façade of the big tough cowboy hides a sweet, romantic man at heart. The storyline flows really well and is very realistic and believable. I loved the added bonus that this book was set at Christmas time as that really added to the storyline for me. We’ve now seen all 4 Hill men succumb to the charms of their women, will we now get to see the only female Hill sibling, Carter, get her HEA? I really hope so.

I absolutely LOVED this book! These characters are written so well I feel like I know them and could hang out with them. I really just want to join their fun family for any reason 🙂 They made me laugh, tear up and giggle a time or two. Mostly though I sit here with a BIG smile on my face while reading. That’s total enjoyment for me out of this story.
I can’t get enough of this family. These brothers! I just love when they have out and offer advice to each other. They have such great banter which shows a wonderful relationship between them.
Ashely, Jennings, Taylor and Eric….I really *felt* for these characters. What they have gone through and survived..this is one tough story because it could have easily gone another way. I enjoyed the way the author told the story to make it all believable and have he say..”Yeah that could happen” Many times I was irritated at Ashely or Eric then to turn around and be irritated at something Jennings did. Next they would crack me up and we would start all over again. Taylor was just a wonderful sister and so happy most of the time.
I love this series and this author does a wonderful job on the story. The chemistry between Jennings and Ashley is WHITE HOT! Be beware! I liked how the Christmas theme was weaved throughout this story. It was all perfect! Next please!

This is my second book by this author, with the first being book 3 in this series…Still have to go back and grab books 1 and 2 and then will read all 4 back to back. I LOVED this one as much as I loved #3. This author’s writing style has me completely hooked, this book was my first of this holiday season and it made me want to grab as many more as I can 🙂
This was such a sweet story and I read it in one sitting. Ashley escaped her hometown a few years back and moved to Denver to prove to her twin sister and her small town that she really was over her ex. Now she returns to stand next to said sister in her wedding to said ex boyfriend. She knows she’s over him but no one else believes her…Enter Jennings, someone Ashley has history with who agrees to stand in as a love interest so Ashley can once again prove she is perfectly ok with the upcoming wedding. Problem is she wants what her sister has, not who her sister has but as things get complicated with her stand in BF, misunderstandings and trust issues arise, along with issues from the past.
I again absolutely loved this story and there was a scene towards the end that completely took my breath away…I’ve only read two of these and had no problem, so they can be read as stand alones but it has made me want to read them all so Id recommend grabbing them all.

CLAIMING THE COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS is Book 4 in “The Hills of Texas” series and can absolutely be read as a stand-alone .
This is a quick and easy read. There is a teeny bit of angst and some really sweet moments. It is a story of forgiveness and second chances. Told in first person with dual POV this story moves at a good pace and is very holiday centered.
I enjoyed this story and the other books on the series.

Kadie Scott can write one mean cowboy alpha male love story. I have read the previous three books in The Hills of Texas series and enjoyed each one. Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas adds an extra bit of sparkle and magic with the Christmas season as a lovely backdrop to the festivities that take place in the book. For that reason alone I truly enjoyed this book. The bonus was the relationship disaster that is Jennings Hill and Ashley Hughes.
Ashley has struggled with the idea of putting on her supportive and happy face while she attends the wedding of her sister and her EX. Yes her ex is marrying her sister. As if the stress of this isn’t enough she is faced with her ex best friend, Jennings. Jennings has had crazy feelings for Ashley since day one. A falling out has made even a friendship seem impossible to attain. Then the rumor mill gets started and things get even more complicated for these two. Will they be able to get over the past? Can Jennings be the man Ashley has overlooked all those years?
I will say this wasn’t my favorite of the series, I was just left wanting a bit more from the characters and more of a deep and thoughtful backstory. I did enjoy it and it was a nice light and airy rainy day read. I will be back to see what else is in store for the series!

This may be book 4 but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone without any confusion. Ok so this one may be my favorite one yet but shh don’t tell the others! Ashley and Jennings will forever have a special place in my heart, they completely hooked me into their world and wouldn’t let go. Each character is complex, relatable and brings something unique to the story. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I found the characters immediately relatable and the story flowed quickly. I found I had finished without realizing I was nearing the end. A fun fast paced tale that I truly enjoyed.

What another brilliant addition to the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. Each read I have read by Kadie Scott continues to prove me wrong on how much better each one can get, and once again I was totally captivated and entranced by this read from the very start until the end! Each time we get another book from this author she always manages to create characters that are real, relatable and lovable, and a storyline that flows effortlessly. You connect with the characters on another level that makes you thoroughly enjoy following their journey through their ups and downs and hoping that they get their HEA. This is another book you should not miss, I can’t wait to see what else Kadie Scott brings us!

I enjoyed this book. This is a sweet, hot romance story that will warm your night and is a great book to start your holiday reading season with. I was pulled in right from the start and was engaged until the end. The characters bring the story to life as well as kept me turning pages. Ashley finds herself back home to plan her twin sister’s wedding and to her ex to boot. What will happen when her cowboy crush goes as her plus one? You don’t want to miss this one, I highly recommend this book.

This story caught me at the first page. There is a chemistry that causes sparks between Will and Rusty that let me see their relationship like a vision. I am not a huge western setting reader, get enough of that on old tv, but Ms. Scott used her incredible talent to give this one FIRE! This book took me away from the reality of my life today and I had a terrible time trying to make myself put it down! Her writing style is brilliant and easy to read. Resisting The Rancher is the 2nd book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. Before this I had only read the 3rd book Taming The Troublemaker and did not find that this spoiled my reading of a previous book in the series. Each book tells us the story of one of the Hill’s siblings, in this case Williams (Will) who runs the family ranch, providing animals to take part in rodeos. At one such rodeo Rusty Walker comes crashing into his life. Rusty is hoping to inherit her father’s ranch but he’s just told her that she needs to marry a rancher in order to inherit. Will and Rusty agree to marry so that she can inherit and he can gain a partnership with her family. I loved both Will and Rusty, they are both amazing characters. Both are headstrong, hard-working and will do anything for their families. The story is so angst filled and will take you through many emotions. I loved reading the growing relationship between the 2 as they both fought the attraction they had for each other. Will is determined that he wants to have Rusty as his real wife and not a fake one and he does everything he can to make Rusty see that they are perfect for each other. Having now read book 3 and then book 2 in this great series, I really want to read the others and get the stories of the rest of the Hill siblings.

Resisting the Rancher by Kadie Scott was a great romance read! I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. First thing I have to say, I loved the slow burn. It was the first thing I noticed and really appreciated. I had Nora Roberts vibes while reading. Rusty is a strong independent woman trying to prove herself to the world and her dad. She is put in a bind and I loved her strength. Will was a great gentleman and I loved his character.View all my reviews

Resisting the Rancher is the second book in Kadie Scott’s Hills of Texas series. I do not know how I missed the first book so now I need to go back and read that one as well! The stories can be read as standalones but obviously as it is a series of the Hills’ siblings then you will end up wanting to read every single one of them (and there are four out so Yeehaw here comes a weekend spent in Texas!)
