The format of this read was something different. The author gives his notes about each chapter right within the story. This worked well to his advantage because it made me want to read into the next chapter right away. The chapters were short and kept you hooked. Plenty of action and adventure for this family and learning their new lives after they were taken from their home. Even in a space that is supposed to be safe, you never know who you will be able to trust! Great read!

The Intruders is a supernatural thriller – not a genre I usually pick up. With that said, it is action packed and suspenseful. Dex, the main character, is a car salesman. While at work, he notices someone strange hanging around. This leads to him and his family getting abducted. His abductors know everything about Dex’s life. Dr. H wants more information from Dex. He has to find a way to save himself and his family. They must escape and stay away from danger. If you like the supernatural, and you like thrillers – you will enjoy this book!

A man’s choice years ago will ripple through the years and has embedded into the soul of Rex, when something happens with his son’s his past in the Air Force comes rushing back with a visitor, he was not expecting to confront him.
Can Rex try and help his son’s and right a wrong from the past, you will need to delve into this wonderful book.
This is the first book I have read from this author and to be honest I was not sure what to expect, this is not normally a book I would gravitate to, but I was recommended to take a chance on it, and I was not disappointed. The story is quite a heavy subject matter but the way the author weaves you through the past to the future is refreshing and quite easy to read. I love a good, flawed character and Rex is one who has tried to recover from his past but as hard he works, he never seems to catch a break. The story has an added depth with the mystery of his sons and the accident of the fisherman which just brings more memories to the front for Rex.
Overall, the story is well written, with the twists and turns and anticipation will have you glued to the book until the last page. The story is full of angst and what if’s which ends up making me think about decisions in life and how they affect people in my life. I recommend this book and can’t wait to read more by this wonderfully discovered author.

This was a good 4 star read. This was a different genre than what I typically read but I really enjoyed it. Dex is a true family man and is trying to keep things together for his family. He left a good job due to being gone so much and went with a job that was close to home. Things take a scary twist when his family is kidnapped from their home. WIll he be able to keep his family safe? What do the kidnappers want?
Overall this was an edge of your seat read. The author does a great job with his writing and it pulls you right in. I like how he would have notes at the end of each chapter. The ending has left me wondering if we will see another book. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
The Intruders is a fast paced Supernatural Thriller that is packed with action ,mystery and suspense. This is one of those books that will pull you in from the beginning and has your on the edge of your seat trying to put all the pieces together to figure out what is going to happen next. Im going to be honest I wasn’t real sure going in what to expect but I was intrigued by the title and the over. Boy am I glad I grabbed this book. This is a new to me author and hos style of writing and attention to detail make it seem so real. The characters are developed and make the story come to life. I literally read this in one afternoon I had to know what was going to happen next. This is a story about Dex , he’s a family man who works as a used car salesman and finds himself in a situation where he’s being held in a basement . Can they escape from the torture they’ve endured? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to giveaway anymore. If you’re into this genre this is one you don’t want to miss. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This book begins beautifully, full of suspense! It is full of strong and interesting characters. The author does not shy away from sensational plot twists! This is a good read, escapism at its finest, but I wouldn’t take it to the lake with me. (If you know, you know.)
If you are looking for a fast paced, action packed, sci-fi thriller then pick this one up.
The Intruders by Brett McKay follows the story of Dex, a car salesman who who notices a strange man outside of his dealership. He shrugs it off, goes home to his family and then….everything changes. Dex and his family are abducted and tortured for information he doesn’t have. Can Dex save himself and his family? Is this entire horrifying situation more than what it seems?
This book is different then my usual psychological thriller reads yet it was quite enjoyable. It was fast paced, easy to read and action packed. Every chapter was almost like an episode to a action series. So grab this novel if you want something to keep your attention while exploring some sci-fi.
Happy Reading

I’m not usually into sci-fi, but this book caught my attention. Dex sacrifices his well paid occupation in order to spend more time with his family. So he settles himself working at a car dealership where he’s not getting paid well at all. One end of his shift day at work he happens into a strange encounter that leads to unexpected as well and as unexplained occurrences. Hopefully another part comes out for this book cause I’m really looking forward to reading it.
Web of intrigue This book has it all. The second in the series has Hunter and his crew smack-bang in the middle of a web of murder and mayhem. Again the author brings a strong plot line with amazing imagery that had me feeling every single moment. Once I finished the book I felt like I had just stepped out of the world and taken a breath. Highly recommend this book (and book 1) and I am so looking forward to reading more.

Suspenseful thrilling crime What a fantastic start to a series. This book had me glued with suspense, mystery, edge of seat danger, loads of action and intrigue. The writing just draws you in, and it’s almost like watching a movie. The characterisation is spot on and I was vested from the beginning. I am so looking forward to following this series.

This was a really good read! I’m glad this one read as a standalone, as I don’t remember much from the first book. This one was thrilling, and full of so many twists and turns that kept me turning the pages. I can’t decide which book I like better so far but I’m excited to read the next installment to this series!

This is the first book I have read by R. Weir and to say I’m amazed is an understatement. Fallen Star is the second book in the series, but I happened to pick this one up first. Even without reading the previous book I was blown away. I’m headed to pick up The Divine Devils to really absorb the full storyline.
Megan Getz is a well-known actress that hires the Divine Devils to help her with a precarious blackmail situation. Hunter Divine and his Devils will stop at nothing to help uncover the shadows of murder, drugs, and corruption in Reno. Will they be able to help Megan, or will they just make the situation worse?
Every time I tried to put this book down, I found myself picking it right back up. I highly recommend Fallen Star and can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

I love the way the author is so creativity behind every story and character which makes you love the book more. I absolutely love the way this author writes I can never get enough of it. this story was action packed filled with suspense that I couldn’t put it down till I found out what happened next. This book is so well written that it makes you really wonder if it’s actually real, and sucks you into the world of Hunter, falling into a world wind of secret’s, danger, drugs, extortion, blackmail that the divine devils have to face while helping Megan a Hollywood celebrity. Fallen Star By: R. Weir 5* This is an amazing crime book. The pace was set in the first book of the series and I had high expectations for this book that I was unsure could be met. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this book was just as good, if not better, than the first. Once again, Hunter Divine is being called on to protect someone in danger. This time it is a Hollywood starlet, who is being blackmailed for things she has done that she would much rather forget. Hunter has a million different things thrown at him this time, but with the added problem of this case reminding him of the case that made him leave the U.S. Marshalls. Readers are provided with a story that I definitely could not put down. I love this series and truly hope that there are more books being planned.

Fallen Star by R. Weir is the second book in The Divine Devils Book series. It follows Hunter Divine and his crew of private investigators as they take the case of Megan Getz; a Hollywood star that is being blackmailed. This is a very action-packed book. The characters are solid and the plot is strong and intense. I especially enjoyed Hunter’s character and his crew. They definitely handled everything and got the job done. The story is very realistic and is a definite page-turner. Awesome read!

The Divine Devils By: R. Weir 5* I loved this book! The idea is fantastic and the twists and turns kept coming. More importantly, I found an author whose books I will reread and recommend time and time again. Paige’s two children are in extreme danger. Three attacks on their lives in less than that many weeks. She does the only thing a mother can do call the best person she can to protect them. The problem is, that person is also someone who broke her heart many times over. Hunter Divine answers the call and does all he can to help his past lover. He is living a very sketchy life right now but would do anything for this one that may have gotten away. The twists and turns kept coming as the book unfurls. What I loved the most was that is was so hard to put down. I am so glad that this is the beginning of a new series and I cannot wait to read the next book.

Hunter Divine is a member of the Devine Devils, a group of specialists who help to clean up after indiscretions or events which other people would deem to dangerous to even think of, but they are very good at what they do, sometimes with a dalliance or two on the way to keep things interesting, or maybe that is just Hunter. Megan Getz is a Hollywood starlet whose parents were famous on the silver screen and ever since becoming a child star, so has Megan, now it is in her own right as a star in a sitcom, as well as other projects as well, but what isn’t known is that in her private life, she enjoys a few dalliances of her own and this is why she has turned to the Divine Devils for help.
She made an indiscreet mistake in a casino in Reno with a man she saw for one night and one night only, but little did she know that she was going to be taken advantage of and extorted every month since it happened, she is now at her wits end and doesn’t know where else to turn since anyone else deemed it too dangerous to investigate. Armed with the knowledge to start off with Hunter and his team head to Reno to dig around and unearth the extorter, as well as stop them from doing anything of the like in the future, but nothing is as easy as it seems as the team go undercover as high rollers, their staff and a security guard to dig on the inside as well.
While they star their undercover antics, they play their roles well, but after the first few days nothing occurs worth mentioning, so they split off for a while leaving two team members to keep their cover and the others to ask more questions of Megan to see if there is anything they missed the first time round. It turns out there was and this leads to a promising place to really dig in deep and one team member in particular in in the perfect place, but when he uncovers more than just extortion and minor scams, the team are in for a possibly lethal ride as they try to both take down a prostitution and murder ring with ties to the local crime syndicate, as well as extricate their fallen star in the process, but can they do it with their mind, body and souls intact? This is another exciting and suspenseful, thriller which will keep you guessing throughout and on the edge of your seat as the action packed investigation plays out.

There are so many twists and turns but so captivating! You wouldn’t think the people that make up this team is actually a team but they work so well together! Hunter Divine was a US Marshal but he was let go and he’s been on a downward spiral ever since. When he’s called in for personal security on a wealthy family, the plot is only starting!
I love that there are past experiences and how the team met one another! I definitely recommend!

Naturally there’s trouble, a bit of chaos, undercover work, and so much more!

Oh, Jenna, can you find someone to love you for you? Will they love you for only your money? Well, looks like that jerk, Steve, chose option #2. This is a fantastic story. The kidnapping was a plot of fools from the beginning. (It was planned that way). I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard. Jemma is a fighter and very independent. She’s going give it her all. She and Andy seem to have found each other in the unlikely spot. They feel like a good pair that deserve that second chance. They are one couple you love to read about being happy. The story is well- written. The characters are well developed. Each one is so relatable. Jemma feels so real, as does Andy. I loved how well it flowed, even when a twist appeared, it just came back together. Awesome story.

She’s seen him snap into action with bullets flying when their private detective assignments turned bad. It blew her mind.
He learned those deadly skills somewhere, and his grumpy-assed attitude, but whenever she broaches the subject, the shutters go up.
Gary only works when Debbie nags him. He’s content to survive on bad jokes and cheap beer wasting his days away in a West Australian beachside caravan park.
His past is behind him, far away in England, and that’s where he wants it to stay.
Then Debbie’s world collapses. Her beloved mum’s the first Bell’s Landing local to test positive for the killer COVID virus sweeping the globe.
She’s in despair, stuck in quarantine with her kids and Gary while husband Matt, her rock, is eight hundred kilometres away on a mine site. So, Gary turns reluctantly to the only thing that might distract her, his sorry tale.
And it all comes out. How he was cut from SAS recruitment just short of graduation, but a fringe-government organisation offered Gary a reprieve. If he could infiltrate a neo-Nazi hate group, they’d see he had a second chance at special forces wings. The impossible choices — ordered to participate in increasingly violent attacks, plagued with doubts about his shady handlers while his pregnant girlfriend tore her hair out over the lies he had to tell at home.
The story’s tearing Gary apart, but it’s all that keeps Debbie sane as her mum’s condition deteriorates.
To help his friend, Gary must face the demons that drove him from his own family.

This was an fast paced intense sci-fi mystery. Dex thought the most difficult part of his life was finding a better paying job outside the car dealership and then a silver eyes man shows up. Little does he know that was the start of a series of life changing events. This was a book that made you wonder what else is out there and if there are other worlds. This was certainly a hard book to put down and each chapter brought more uncertainty. There was minimal character development but I really felt like I got to know each character and was rooting for their victory or loss. Ending was not what I was expecting and not sure if there are plans for a second book but it left it open to another.
This novel was a great thriller. It was very original and the plot seemed very well planned out. The characters also appear to have some personal flares added to them. It is obvious that the author put a good amount of heart and soul into this book. One of the main reasons I know this, is because of the author notes at the end of each chapter. Those notes were a nice way of connecting with the author, but I felt there were too many. Sometimes it felt like the author was just trying to fill space, which is one of the downsides of this book.
You can definitely get away with just not reading the author notes, but they were often fun and/or informative; there were few times they felt like filler notes. I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for an original plot and good characters that were handled with great care.

Megan Getz is a celebrity who lives the posh live. Hunter is a Private Investigator. When Megan becomes the victim of blackmail scheme, Hunter is hired to investigate. Megan has a secret of a past discretion that she doesn’t want it to be public knowledge. Megan desires Hunter in ways that are not in his duties as a PI. He denies her advances. Throughout the story you learn more of Hunter’s life as a US Marshall and how he feels about things he had done. This story is fast action and suspense, with some steamy sides. It is part two in a series, but can be read as a stand alone.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. The author grips you from the beginning and does not let go. There were times I had to reread due to being in shock. From the characters to the plot, everything is captivating. I will be reading more from this author and this series.
