I love the Jake Wolfe series, every book has different mysteries and killers that either Cody the war dog is part of or Jake alone has to track down the killers.

Jake takes Cody to sniff out a bomb in Florida, and each minute he loses time or gets closer to stopping it. But as each killer sees that Cody is sniffing the crime that is about to happen, the killers mark Jake and Cody as a target.

This was one of my favorite books because it was Cody, Jake’s dog joining in this crime thrilller saving the world from a cartel deal gone wrong. Cody has been trained to sniff out crime and help Jake find bad people before more harm comes their way.

In this story without giving out too much, a drug deal goes wrong when the cartels are after a package that can harm a lot of people, when it reaches Jake and Cody they are determined to save the world once again.
This story is book 4 amazing details by Mark Nolan.

Vigilante Assassin (Jake Wolfe, #2)Vigilante Assassin by Mark Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mark Nolan the author of Jake Wolfe Series is catchy to read. Book 2 of this thriller series, I was hooked! I love all the twists and turns in these mystery books. So far, I am enjoying all the books that I read on Mark Nolan. I have read this month all 7 series and I can’t believe how Mark put all the stories together knowing that you can read them individually.

In this story, we have a wife Lauren Stephens with her family, who thought she had it all but in all rich families there must be a deep secret. She needed help from Jake Wolfe to find out where her husband went missing and why. Can Jake Wolfe and his dog Cody continue to help others in need, or will this be the end? I have to say nope because there is more to these series.

If you love a mixed roller coast this book is for you. There are a lot of falls and high that will leave you in your seats. Wait until you read the next book after book 2.

Master of the Abyss (Painted Souls Series Book #3) by Rob Samborn – Review by Angela Hayes

Master of the Abyss (Painted Souls, #3)Master of the Abyss by Rob Samborn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

Master of the Abyss is the third and final book in the Painted Souls Series by Rob Samborn. It follows up from The Prisoner of Paradise (Book #1) and Painter of the Damned (Book #2)- so if you are yet to read the first two books, then I highly recommend that you do so before diving into this final instalment. This is a continuation of the story and there has been a lot that has happened previously that you will want to know going into this book. There is a lot of important storyline details, character information, interconnected elements/threads, and intriguing backstory that you need to know in order to get the ultimate reading experience from this book.
Julia O’Connor (and friends) has her work cut out for her here- as she is thrust into a quest to not only to save her husband and the multitude of souls trapped in eternal torment, but turns out that she’ll need to save the world from a psychotic religious fanatic bent on utter domination, as well. What happens makes for a page-turning read.
Although I didn’t want this series to end, because it has been such a great read- this conclusion to the series is everything I could have hoped for, and more. Mr. Samborn didn’t rest on his laurels, and yet again, upped the ante to bring us another well-written, multi-layered, gripping, and incredibly ‘visual’ story. With plenty of dramatic developments, tension, action, danger, supernatural/paranormal elements, a high stakes quest, an ancient relic, suspense, twists, intensity, adventure, intrigue, historical details, agendas, complexity, layers, mysteriousness, an ancient journal, and so much more – made for a very gripping historical thriller.
This was edge of your seat reading at its best- OMG I devoured this book in one sitting as I had to know how everything played out in the end. And as expected from Mr. Samborn- the tension mounts to an all-time high- making for a quite a riveting read.
The Painted Souls series would definitely make a fantastic movie, or epic television series!
I am eager to see what Mr. Sanborn has up his sleeve for us next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Rob Samborn!

Karina and her crew are back for yet a other adventure. This books steps away from what we have come to know, her adventures in the USA and life on Capitol Hill. We have officially gone international! Karina wants a fund girls getaway to Mexico but Jillian’s accident throws a wrench in those plans. Her fellow lobbyist, Rodrigo, ends up going with her as he too deserves to have fun and relax. Karina is not just there for fun and relaxation, she is also there for some work. She had a package that she promised to deliver to Mrs. Thundermuffin ( this is an awesome name! ). She doesn’t know what it is but she let’s her curiosity get the best of her and she takes a peek. As we know, this causes Karina and her friend to become targets. How will she get out of this mess? So far I have enjoyed all of these books. They are a bit fast paced but fun. If you enjoy mystery thrillers then do look into reading these books. It’s a great series to get lost in.

True to style she gets herself into another scrape, but she is adamant that she will not be calling Mike to save her. She’s no damsel in distress but she may not have a choice. A friend of sister Jillian has been dropping money that she shouldn’t have on the salary of a teacher. After being accused of theft and having some loose diamonds fall out of her purse she sure does look guilty. It’s now up to Karina, Jillian and Silverthorne Security to find out whonl set up Jillians friend. The only problem is they have dug too deep this time. She won’t be able to pull herself out of this hole without help. Will Mike be willing to help her or is he still too upset over the break up? These books keep getting better as they go. I love the plots and how they characters have continued to develope with each book. I’m looking forward to the next adventure.

The couple is invited to his parents annual holiday bash even though Karina was tired and had achy feet. In hopes of finding a place to rest her weary feet she interrupts the host, Martin Dunne, and a guest and they appear to be hiding something. What was the object that they were being so secretive about? Her curiosity gets the better of her and she goes sleuthing on the internet once she returns home. The 8th book in the Logan McKenna series. Of course, another hit. I feel like I really have come to know Logan as if she were a friend. The author’s writing makes you feel that way. I love how in each book, there is a completely different main topic. You learn about more than just Logan and what she is up to. I said it before, but I will be sad when this series ends.

Master of the Abyss (Painted Souls, #3)Master of the Abyss by Rob Samborn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a gripping epic conclusion to this series, and I have been kept captivated from book one. Once again, I was hooked throughout with this historical thriller, and it was a real page turner. It was nice being back with old friends, Julia and husband Nick, who in this story remains imprisoned in eternal purgatory. Therefore, it is up to Julia and her friends to stop Salvatore della Porta from achieving his plan of global supremacy through ‘Veritism’. They aim to save millions of souls from a similar fate as Nick’s. However, as Julia and her team travel across Europe heading to Asia and then finally back to Venice they are being tracked by della Porta’s men. They are seeking the age-old journal with the power to either help della Porta to succeed or stop him for good. To free the souls, including Nick’s they need to find an ancient relic that can destroy the ‘Sun Crystal’. In a race against time Julia and her team only have one last chance to liberate the imprisoned souls, save her husband, and stop della Porta from gaining endless power. This was a real fast paced story with an action-packed storyline, and great characters who literally crossed the globe. As usual the author brought the multiple settings vividly to life, making me feel completely immersed in the story. Having read the whole series now I felt very engaged with the characters, especially Nick and Julia O’Connor. This whole series has had me on the edge of my seat, unable to put the books down. I highly recommend reading this series, but I personally think it is one which you do need to read in order.

Good twisty story! I enjoyed this one because it doesn’t hide too much but still is intriguing and kept me turning pages to find out exactly how everything went down. The author does an excellent job telling this one. It is told from different characters POV so its not all about Logan.

I really liked the content in here. Crabbing and boating is interesting to me and the author does a wonderful job keeping my interest. I feel this is the best in the series and can be read as a stand alone.

What has Logan gotten herself into this time. A short family trip to the Oregon coast has gone terribly wrong, and Logan is once again in the middle of it. Spending time with her family is exactly what Logan and her family need, a week away at a friend’s cabin. While they are vacationing, a murder occurs and in true Logan style she is now a part of the investigation. Another wonderful murder mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the very end.

This was a fun read. I have never read one of the Jake Wolfe novels before, so this can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed Jake and Cody’s characters. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because I felt like there was a lot of filler that could have been left out. I found myself trying to skip ahead to get back to the main plot.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, the characters, and the world that they live in. I love a good happy ending, and I truly feel like this book deserved the ending it got. I highly recommend for any crime or thriller junkies!

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed reading this book. I can honestly say that I look forward to reading more from this author. This was a pretty suspenseful and wild story. The author had a unique way to add quite a bit of twists and turns that make you feel like you’re on this journey with the main character. This is about how winning the lottery may not be all that it is cracked up to be, it just might plain deadly. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story with ease and it didn’t take awhile to get into the story. They had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. I enjoyed watching the growth of the characters as well as the plot throughout the story. This is a fast paced, action filled, suspense, page turner that you don’t want to miss!! I look forward to reading other books by this author! I highly recommend this book!!

Although I never felt like I was missing something, I am really glad I did because it is such a great story. It was nice seeing an earlier version of Jake and Cody and seeing how their characters had developed.over time. They are juat as engaging now as they were then.
The story itself is fast paced and exciting. So much seems to happen in these books and I am always engrossed in this story. This is a fantastic book and the whole series is worth a read!

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book that I have read by Nadia. It’s a fast paced book that pulls you around Lynn and James’ life and possible plans after winning the lottery.  However, you are pulled into a paranoia that someone is out to get Lynn. Can she figure out if someone is actually trying to hurt her or is it all in her head? This is the first book in the series and there a lot of unanswered questions. You will need to finish the series in order for it to make sense. There is a lot of violence specifically domestic violence, so if you have been in that situation this is not a series for you to read.

Quite a different genre type read for me. I’ve watched a handful of Western movies but not my usual cup of tea. I decided to give this read a try. This was filled with such imagery of the Western vibe as well with romance and thrill in the story line. Lots of details given of the characters along the way but it all wraps into the story as it continues along. Story set in the 1880s in the Arizona Territory, the readers get to know of Feinmore as he grows and emerges into his own thought process. Moments of gangs, murder, mayhem, and coming of age as Feinmore discovers more about himself. For those readers who enjoy thrills and Westerns, this would be a great selection!

It feels like it has been such a long time since I read one of these books and this one has to be the best so far. It was so easy to reconnect with the characters and become engaged with the story. This book is just as exciting and fast paced of the rest of the series. It is action packed right from the word go.
One of my favourite things about this series is the connection between Jake and Cody. It is lovely to see how much they both rely on each other, not just one way or the other. With each book, their relationship grows stronger. This author has created a strong and lasting series and I hope there will be many more books to come.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have truly sat and tried to figure out what to say about this story. I have read both stories. this book touched me so much. It’s really an emotional story. They both have tremendous emotional issues to deal with. Watching their emotional relationship develop was beautiful yet painful because her adoptive parents were supportive, yet not. There are so many issues in the story. It touches your heart and you want to root for them because they go through so much. You just watch them work through it and though Annie seems immature, she is a strong woman. She is just young and has a big trauma. Cal, however, is older and is dealing with a large loss. It’s a beautiful story that I would recommend. I’m in awe of both stories.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake and Cody rule. There are just no two ways about it. They are classy and fun.

So much has happened since my last Jake and Cody thrill ride. Cody has puppies!! No surprise that they are super smart and helpers, just like Cody. Okay, I digress.

While enjoying some time off in the Florida Keys, Jake is contacted by his Secret Service contact about needing Jake for a job. It is during this job that Jake finds out about a new weapon being used against citizens of the US, a new drug that is deadly and being used to taint the drug supply. This new lethal combination is causing havoc throughout the drug trade, even in-fight within the cartels.

Jake and Cody have been tasked with taking down as many of the traffickers that they can find to stop or at least stem the tide of this new drug entering the US. As Jake and Cody do their thing, it paints a large bullseye on not only them but friends and family. Jake and Cody must work within the law to keep everyone safe, especially themselves.

The action in this book does not stop. Whether it is guns blazing or Jake and Cody saving senior citizens from bullies on the beach, Jake and Cody are in constant motion. The author does not fail to entertain or keep you guessing. There are a few surprises sprinkled throughout.

Here is to Jake and Cody saving the world (or at least some part of it) again and again!!! Fantastic read.
