Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic – 4 out of 5 stars

This book is the first book in the series. It will get you hooked on the first page and you would want to put it down. This dark thriller does talk about some sensitive subjects. So, readers please be warned! The auther does introduce the subjects in a way that is not so triggering. Overall I loved the character development and I am excited to read on in this series. I recommend this book!

This was a great 5 star read filled with twists and turns. The author pulls you right in with her writing and you won’t want to put it down. We get so much suspense, drama, betrayal and so much more. Lynn wins the lottery, but did she really win? She has a mysterious stalker and an abusive husband. All of the characters added a great element to the story, the husband is a piece of crap and made me angry at times. My emotions were all over the place while I was reading. Of course there are some things that may be triggers for some so beware. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

First time reading a story by this awesome author, L.R Liverpool. Although M/M isn’t my usual go-to subject to read, but after reading the rest of the synopsis I just had to give it a try. It really peaked my interest 🥰. This was a slow burn read at first but then picks after a couple chapters. Sticking with it will not disappoint in the least. The storytelling was soo good and the characters were built extremely well. I really enjoyed the western theme to it, which is a new topic to me.this book has mystery, suspense ,adventure, action, and romance that will keep you intrigued to the very end, speaking of endings, OMG the feels you feel them all! If you’re on the fence about trying this book, I would definitely recommend reading it! 🥰 I look forward to reading more of L.R. Liverpool work !

Get ready to hang on for this one. Once again Jake and Cody are out to protect the innocents and get rid of the evils of the world. While Cody is the Dog he plays a big part in this story. Don’t get me wrong, I fell in love with Jake, Cody just brings the story together. This is a match not to be messed with. The action packed events will keep you reading. I do recommend you start the series from the beginning. You don’t have to but you would be missing a lot more adventure. The story is an unforgettable and action packed page turner. The story is well written and keeps the reader engaged. This author brings so much to his series. I am looking forward to book 8.

Killer Lawyer: A Gripping Thriller (Jake Wolfe Book 3) by Mark Nolan – Review by Amanda Swindle

Killer Lawyer (Jake Wolfe, #3)Killer Lawyer by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Killer Lawyer is book three in the Jake Wolfe Thriller series. Jake and Cody have returned for more adventures and danger, reminiscent of the previous books. This time around, Jake is a lawyer who also works in a secret agency, trying to find a killer who murders at random. The story is more complex than the previous two books, but still plenty of action and danger. As Jake gets more involved, the killer turns his sites on the main character, and his loved ones. This book is told in multiple POV so you get insight into the antics of different characters, including Cody the dog. I think my favorite part of this series is the dynamic relationship Jake and Cody have, and how they work so well together.

Vigilante Assassin: A Gripping Thriller (Jake Wolfe Book 2) by Mark Nolan – Review by Amanda Swindle

Vigilante Assassin (Jake Wolfe, #2)Vigilante Assassin by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vigilante Assassin is the second book in the Jake Wolfe Thriller series. Book two returns with Jake Wolfe and his very clever dog, Cody (who may be my favorite character). Cody is extremely smart and an amazing service dog that gets in the middle of the action and wins you over quickly. Jake, an ex Marine with has seen his share of action, continues to bring more to the plate. The book starts out fast and never slows down. There is A LOT of action and scenarios that happen in this one and is more fast paced than book one, which I did enjoy. My only complaint are the scenarios are very far fetched and unbelievable. For instance, Cody alerting Jake about a man approaching with a grenade launcher…who has a grenade launcher!? I do love reading multiple POV books and seeing things from different angles and there is plenty of that to be had with this series. You even get inside the head of Cody (the dog) as well and I found that to be unique. Overall, it is a nice read if you love action and military cat and mouse style books, and would give it a try for sure.

Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie: A Gripping Thriller (Jake Wolfe Book 1) by Mark Nolan – Review by Amanda Swindle

Dead Lawyers Don't Lie (Jake Wolfe, #1)Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dead Lawyers Don’t Die is the first book in the Jake Wolfe Thriller set, and also the first book I have read from this author. Former marine and current photo journalist, Jake Wolfe, accidentally comes across “The Artist”, a local murderer. Now that is is involved, the inevitable and predictable game of cat and mouse begins. The story was entertaining and kept me turning the pages, but was not my favorite, as I found some instances unbelievable and pulled me from the immersion. Some things seemed a little TOO conveniently set out for the elusive murder and while his games were fun to follow, they were also a bit cliché at some points. That being said, I enjoyed the characters and their many very different personalities, and that they were well written. I especially loved Cody, a very clever dog, and you get to see some things from his perspective as well! Some dialogue was left hanging, but let’s be real, conversations can sometimes be hard to write. I did, overall, enjoy this book, and will give his other books in the series a try and see if the story continues to develop and grow on me.

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic – Review by Jessie Hopkins

From page one I was enthralled. Lynn has won the lottery but doesn’t want her husband, James, to know. She has cancer and isn’t telling anyone. She’s had a difficult burdensome past and is trying to get some answers, but anytime she asks clarifying questions, James gets upset.
Lynn just wants answers for her past. James just wants to spend Lynn’s new wealth.
There are twists, turns, and a whole lot of times you won’t want to put the book down.

Whisper Creek (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #7. There is happy news for Logan McKenna but will it be short lived due to financial insecurities? Join Logan as she heads back to Oregon for a consulting gig while trying to figure out the profitable viral video that was created by a student. Logan of course always finds a dead body in every story. This time her friends are possibly the criminals behind this horrible crime. In true McKenna fashion she put her life on hold to help discover the truth and finds the killer. I have said this in multiple reviews, READ THE SERIES IN ORDER!!!!! There are moments that are confusing if you read them out of order. I do plan on going back and rereading the series from book 1 to book 9.

Lost and Found (Logan McKenna Mystery Book 9) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #9!!! It’s the last one in the series….maybe I really don’t know. What I do know is the Logan McKenna has been in some dangerous places and I feel like this one might be one of the ones that keeps you wanting to read until the end. I literally spent an afternoon reading this book. Logan McKenna reminds me of myself when I was really young and wanting to work in the police department. In this book, Captain Craig Peterson is washed away by waves during a storm. But no one is sure what really happened and how he was swept away. Can Logan help find out if his death was an accident or was it something sinister that took him away from his family.

This book is a great psychological thriller that pulls you in from the moment you start reading. The book is intriguing to read and is full of twists and turns. It certainly kept you guessing and I really wasn’t sure how things would eventually play out.
This book is the first in the series and it is clearly setting up the rest of the series. I was a little taken aback at home abruptly the story seemed to end, but it has definitely served to make me want to read the next book. This author is one that I have definitely come to enjoy and I am excited to see where they will take this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lost and Found is the ninth book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series. I enjoy this series for the coastal and nautical settings, and the great dynamics with Logan’s friends and family! Lost and Found can be read as a standalone mystery, but the developments in recurring characters and their relationships make it best enjoyed in the context of the series.

One thing I enjoy about these books is how they start with a glimpse of the murder. That means you as the reader can be starting to look for clues from the start, before Logan is even on the case! There are loads of great details to notice and you never know what might be relevant!

The focus on the crabbing industry in this book added a level of interest. Through various characters we see how the unpredictability and competitivity of the industry can impact people’s lives, which then adds to the drama and tension. It’s clearly been well-researched which made it informative as well as adding depth to the story!

This book gets five stars from me. If you’ve enjoyed books in this series already you know you’re in for a treat! I’d recommend the series to mystery fans who enjoy coastal settings,

Is Lynn going crazy with paranoia or are things going on around her since winning the lottery? This book got me reading and I couldn’t stop! This story gets quite graphic and has some intense moments. A twist that many won’t see coming (I did however). I did not like that it ended in total suspense and we won’t read the remainder until next year. But I’m thankful that I took a chance on it. I typically am nervous to read psychological thrillers 😊

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe Thrillers Book 7) by Mark Nolan – Review by Angela Shirley

Mission Target (Jake Wolfe, # 7)Mission Target by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake is on another covert mission, this time trying to help stop a deadly drug ending up on the streets but when he discovers a beautiful girl on a beach and with similar resemblance to Sarah his girlfriend the case deepens and become dangerous for not just Jake but his friend and family.

As more and more is discovered and they are reaching the top of the tree can Jake keep himself, Cody his dog and everyone from the crosshairs of the gang. you will have to read to find out.

This is a great series and although I have read a few books and not all it does detract from story, these books can be read as stand alone and are well written and the story is developed brilliantly. The twists and turns have you on the end of whatever you are sitting on and will have you guessing till the end.

The character of Jake seems rough and ready but in the story you see the loyalty he shows not only to his partner, Cody his K-9 dog but to all the important people in his life and appreciates the struggles most people have. I always love a flawed hero and Jake is that with his PTSD from the marines playing a part in his daily struggles. Sarah was a great counter to Jake’s character and the love they show for each other was there on the page.

This is full of twists and turns and offers a sight into the underworld of drugs and gangs but I could not put the story down. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series and will go back and read the ones I haven’t, I forgot what a great thriller these books are.

4 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I can say this was a very interesting read and in a very good way. Was I hesitant due to how many pages this book was…Yes. Was I happy I gave it a chance and turned the pages with an open mind… again Yes.

Western mystery, danger, gangs, intrigue with some romance, I did really enjoy this story. I felt like I was brought back in the western ages of time and the author did a great deal of storytelling and the attention to detail I also appreciated.

Fenimore James wants to explore and dream to more in life than where is at. With some money in his pocket he heads out West and wants to be known as Simon Shaw. When outlaws come with a gang run by Red Evans, Simon decides to join up….believing this is what he wants. When bloodshed is spilled, maybe being an outlaw is not what it may be cracked up to be. With someone out there deciding to kill gang members….everyone is suspicious. Who is committing these crimes? With Fenimore aka Simon Shaw also finds an attraction to another gang member….will they be safe or will it cost them in their own bloodshed….

I would definitely recommend this book….be patient….but a very good read all together.

In Plain Sight by Valarie Davisson is the 8th book in the Logan McKenna series. Just like the previous books…it is extremely entertaining! Logan thought that life was going great…she was finally getting her life together. Logan married her boyfriend Ben, she has been volunteering at a local raptor enclosure and is becoming friends with the main vet. But unfortunately Logan just can’t seem to stay away from drama!
Logan jumps in to figure out what has happened to the vet and this drags her into the midst of this mystery all while the killer desperately tries to erase any clues that might tie the murder to them and it has to be before they get caught. Logan and her friends find themselves in grave danger! I enjoyed that I didn’t immediately solve the mystery and couldn’t figure out the suspect and I felt like I was alongside Logan trying to figure everything out! This book gave me clue vibes…and I was all for it! You definitely need to pick up the other books to get to love all of the Logan McKenna series!

The Man in Black by L.R. Liverpool. I really enjoyed this Western Novel. It is a bit long so be prepared for that but the story is very good. Its the story of Fenimore who is leaving the life he’s always known behind to go and be an outlaw. He thinks its going to be like the books but what he finds is not that. He ends up joining the Red Evans Gang and becomes Simon Shaw. As members of the gang begin getting murdered he’s not to sure he made the right decision and debates going back home. He also discovers while he’s on the trail with the gang that he has feelings for one of his fellow members leaving him confused and frustrated. This book is very emotional and will rip your heart out in spots. Trying to find out who is trying to kill all the gang members and dealing with Simon’s feelings it gets to you in spots. This is a very good Western Romance with murder and mystery along with romance.

Lottery of secrets was the first book that I have read by this author. Lottery of secret’s was a face paced suspense/ thriller read for me. Following Lynn and her husband Jimmys story was captivating to me i could not stop reading this book. I Feel for Lynn she is supposed to be living her life and enjoying it and instead she is kind of living in a nightmare. So many twists and the last 3 chapters were my favorite. Although we have to wait for book two to come out leaving us on cliff hangers it will be worth the wait. If you are a suspense reader or like thrillers i would consider reading this book you will not be disappointed. Thank you to this author for writing this wonderful book and i can not wait for more reads by you.
