Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson
5 Star!!!!!

I absolutely love Sherrilyn Kenyon and Cassandra Clare so of course I fell for this book series. I could not put this book down. I love how the forbidden love plays a part in it and that there is just as much adventure as romance comes to play in this book. The characters are well written. The author brings a fresh outlook to witches, lycans and vampires.

Tasha and Levi have the forbidden love that brings the reader in and the story draws you in deeper and deeper. I found that there was just enough action and drama that keeps the reader glued to your seat and not want to stop reading. I like how there is just enough of a carrot dangled to keep the reader wanting more and I for one cannot wait for the next book.

In book 1, Forbidden Wolf, you fell in love with the two main characters, Levi and Tasha. In this second book, you fell in love with their story and the strength that love can provide. Levi and Tasha once again are trying to win this war against the hellspawn (and those that oppose their connection). At every turn, the couple is dealing with diversity, and when things start to look up, something else gets in their path. But the bond and strength and uniqueness of being mated helps conquer even the most turmoil of situations. One thing I just love about paranormal romances is the way authors talk about bonds, love, soul mates, etc. It is done in such a way that you yearn for those feelings. CR Robertson writes in a fashion where I can physically feel what these characters are feeling just by reading the words – that’s talent.

Forbidden Mate is the second book in this series by C. R Robertson. It picks up where it leaves off with Levi and Tasha falling more and more in love and right in the middle of a war between Lycans, vampires and hellspawn.
Forbidden Mate yanked me in just as the first book did. I have completely fallen head over heels for Levi and Tasha as characters and their growing relationship. This story is well written as I lost track of time as I just couldn’t put it down. I was so invested in learning about what happens next that I kept promising myself.. just one more chapter.
If you like lycans, vampires, mysterious enemies… then I highly recommend this read to you!

Forbidden Mate is the second book in the Shadow Chronicles series by CR Robertson. If you haven’t already done so, start with book one in the series. This is a continuation of the story.

Book two sees us back with Lycan Levi and Vampire Tasha. After starting a war with their love in book one, this story has a whole new set of complications, challenges, and battles. There is so much history and bad feelings between the Lycans and the Vampires that sparks fly constantly.
The love story between Levi and Tasha has me hooked. I love both of these characters and literally couldn’t put this book down….I NEED to know what happens next.

Forbidden Love, bad choices and second chances!
Master Tuscano is just as good as Master Descallia if not better.
In this book the Syndicate, witches, shifters, rogue vampires and Consulate seem to all have their own agendas. These additional characters add to the story very well.

Delilah ran off with the witches because she was denied the life with Christian that she wanted by the Consulate. She seeks refuge with the witches who treat her kind, even though they have a long-standing vendetta with the vampires.
When Christian found her after her abduction, he seeks revenge. He doesn’t realize she wants her own revenge. That is, until she keeps disobeying his direct orders and darn the consequences! (Even though she enjoys the consequences very much 😉)

First you have a brave Heroin with attitude to boot! Lucianna jumps in feet first to try and find the missing women and finds herself attached to a Vampire Overlord in the process.
Salvatore has his work cut out for him with Lucianna and the desire to protect and save her, if even from herself. He is used to his word being obeyed without hesitation, until her.
There definitely is a plot twist that I didn’t see coming and hopefully it surprises you as well. I have read many Vampire Novels and Sylvia has made the Masters of the Consulate a series I do not want to miss a single Novel from!
Thank you, Sylvia, for the good read and keep this series going! Can’t wait to read what comes next.

Master Tuscano (Masters of the Consulate Book 2) by Sylvia Black – Review by Krista Vaughan

Sylvia Black brings Master Toscano in as the hero of this book. A vampire of the Consulate in love with a human. When Delilah is left dead at his feet he takes her to to the underworld to be with him. The problem being…he didn’t get permission from the Consulate first, and Delilah has never been a fan of the underworld. Right from the start this book is filled with conflict, passion, and action. A gripping novel from start to finish following a human and a vampire in love trying to fight for their right to be together. There is really no one as formidable as a vampire in love.

Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 2)Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A dark vampire mafia romance. What’s not to love about that sentence?

Master Tuscano should really be read after book 1, Master Descalia, for the greatest understanding as Tuscano has continuation of the “us v them” storyline from book 1. Semi-spoiler: That storyline will continue in book 3 too.

Here we get to explore the romance and mating of Christian Tuscano and Delilah, who we were introduced to in book 1. Christian and Delilah yearn for one another despite the consulate not approving of their relationship.

I enjoyed Christian and Delilah as a couple and them coming together despite outward forces trying to keep them apart. I like how the author switches the first person POV between Christian and Delilah because it gives us more insight as to what they’re each thinking and why they’re doing things. Delilah is a spitfire who isn’t going to just sit down and let the men deal with the issues they’re facing, yet she can also be submissive to Christian, sometimes.

It was interesting to see where Luciana and Salvatore were in their relationship now and how that continued to grow. Also, we’re reading about it from two other character’s perspectives, so it’s a fun turn-about. I still love Embry and the levity she brings to even the most serious of situations. Also, who doesn’t love a female who’s confident enough in herself to basically waitress and walk around a club topless and flaunting her nipple piercings? I hope to read more about Embry specifically.

While I overall enjoyed the story and the characters, I can only give this book a 3.5 rating as there were inconsistencies that kept pulling me out of reading to try and understand. Also, while this is a fantasy novel (hello paranormal beings) some pf the things that happen are outside the realm of possibilities, like transporting yourself half way around the world in a few seconds soon after becoming a vampire.

Trigger warnings: non sexual dub-con (dubious consent), rehashing of sexual assault and trafficking, anal sex, fictional death and gruesome beatings.

Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 2)Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After the kidnapping and trafficking Delilah was saved from, she’s had to process the trauma and emotions that came with those experiences. At the same time, the conversation about what her and Christian are has been looming in the background for months. Wanting to be his mate as a human has come with more strings than what she thought was possible. Now, it’s her turn to take revenge on those that hurt her. Vampire or not, Delilah with use the resources she has to gain control back in her life.

I liked this sequel but I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I did the first. The author repeated a lot of the tropes she used in the first book so a lot of surprise I felt in the first book were not there when I encountered similar situations in this second book. Over all I think Delilah was a decent character but I feel like she was too impulsive which wound her up in more dangerous situations than if she worked through things with Christian or even talking with Lucianna and Embry. I was a little invested in the relationship but I really appreciated some of the choices Delilah made in the final few chapters. I’d be interested in seeing what happens in book three but not sure how quickly I would get to it.

Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 2)Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Master Christian Tuscano is the head of the Tuscano house and he has a score to settle, someone kidnapped the woman he wants to be his mate, Delilah and he wants answers as to the who and why, so he goes to the only source they currently have and treats them the same way they treated the woman he loves and it was shamefully and a way that nobody should ever be treated. As he gets the answers he wants, he thinks about Delilah and how her experience has changed her, how the light has gone from her eyes and she is just a muted version of her once bubbly self, however, when he returns home to find that she has gone and only left him a letter, he is enraged and worried that something else will happen to her.

Meanwhile, Delilah is making her way to find the person responsible for her kidnapping and degradation, however she wants to keep herself and her whereabouts from Christian so that she can do something by herself for once, but this plan backfires when despite her best efforts. He is going out of his mind with worry, so Christian has called in some help and found where Delilah is and just in the nick of time when someone else bursts in on the same scene to take the person she is meeting out and she has been caught in the crossfire, so just before her life ebbs away, permission is granted to turn her and allow her to become a vampire and not just be with one.

While the attack left Delilah in a precarious situation, the person they are all after manages to escape, so the hunt is on again, however, keeping Delilah safe and secure is harder than ever when she transitions and her new powers come to the fore and some shifters come after her and while a precarious deal is struck with the syndicate to take the bounty off of their heads in return for them being given the troublemaker once the Consulate have gleaned all the information they can out of them. The shifters are not the only ones after her though and new information comes to light which casts a shadow on everything Delilah knows and trusts involving a coven of witches, but will she be able to do what she needs to do and also be accepted by the rest of the Consulate, or will she have to leave everything she wants behind to protect the one she loves? Will Christian be able to help Delilah to overcome her trauma and teach her to accept her new life, or will one of the groups after them get to their target before they do? This is a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs with a romantic twist throughout, where secrets and lies abound to weave a twisted tapestry of truths which will hook you in from start to finish.

Ugh, I LOVED! This book continues from Forbidden Wolf, and CR Robertson has topped it! Tasha really comes into her power and confidence, Levi is again just the best. There was spice from the start, but not just spice, passionate and almost desperate spice, which is even better. The connection between the two MCs is palpable and I loved getting lost in it. The villains in the story were quite despicable, which makes them great villains to route against. I loved the underlying mysteries about the world and the history of the characters. Once I hit about 50% through, I couldn’t put it down. My only complaint is that it doesn’t look like there will be a third book… Why? I need more of Tasha and Levi!!! I need to know what happens next! Maybe a spin off series? Please? Definitely looking out for more this author has written, because I thoroughly enjoyed both books in this world.

Quick and interesting read with just a hint of spice. The three main women in the story were great characters to follow as they are all independent, self sufficient, and strong which I always love to see in book. I especially enjoyed the little bits I got to see of Embry. I did feel as though the plot was resolved too quickly and nicely. I think more could have been done as there was so much build up. The romance could have used more development as well, I would have loved to see more intimate moments between the two MCs. In general, enjoyable read, and will likely read again. Keeping my eyes open for the next in series to hopefully get more of Embry. I enjoyed her spunk!

Sylvia Black is at it again with Master Tuscano(Masters of the Consulate book 2. Character development is well written especially since there are lots of characters to follow. Unfortunately, though I have a lot of love for Overmaster Salvatore Descallia, I don’t care for Christian Tuscano.
Christian is a hot head vampire who has a tendency to break the rules of the Consulate, especially with Delilah at his side. I didn’t care for her at 1st as well, but she started to grow on me as I continued to read. I’m hoping as the next books are released, that Delilah has enough impact on Christian to change my views on him.
Just because I don’t like Christian, doesn’t mean you won’t! Also doesn’t mean it takes away from how I felt about the novel in general.
I really enjoy the world Sylvia Black has created and I love forward to the next book releases for The Masters of the Consulate Series. If you like vampires, mystery, some suspense, with a little romance thrown in, these books are DEFINITELY FOR YOU!

I give Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson, 5 stars.
**This review may contain spoilers from book one.**

This book is so incredibly good! I forgot how good this series was, but as soon as I started this one, I could not put it down. While this is a paranormal romance with some pretty steamy scenes, it is so much more than that. With an enemy that wants to destroy both of their species, and former master vampire determined to make Tasha his, there is plenty of action and suspense. Then there are the surprises waiting for them, both with the vampires and the lycans. But this book is not just about Tasha and Levi. The secondary characters from book one are back and we meet a few new interesting characters, too. This helps to really make this world even better.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance starring two characters absolutely devoted to each other and the survival of their kinds, then this book and series are for you. I recommend reading book one first so you have a bit better understanding of what happened previously.

I was fortunate enough to read “Forbidden Wolf” directly before this book so I was able to jump right back into the world Robertson created and read from Tasha and Levi’s mind like I didn’t skip a beat. Lucky me!!! 😁 Because it has been an EPIC adventure!!
This book starts off running and doesn’t seem to stop until it ends with a decent enough resolution that I can put it down and not be exasperated about what I was left with. BUT!! I want more! I want the next book and I want it NOW!
We get to see the growth of the love and soul connection that Levi and Tasha have had since their first snarky bite at one another; and let me tell you, the steamy scenes DO NOT DISAPPOINT!  Ssssssoooo hot! We also get to see more plot twists and the increase of enemies from all sides that gather and never seem to end.
Once again, I stayed up later than I should have – not even to finish it…. Just to find a stopping point so my mind would be willing to put the book down and get some sleep before work the next day. I legitimately screamed at a major discovery and stayed glued to this book in order to finish it. I bow to you CR Robertson! What a great story this book was!

This book really drew me in deep, and I mean that in a good way, From the vey beginning of the novel I was sucked in. I had not read the book prior to this one, but needless to say I am going to. The characters were beautifully written and this author really knows how to grab you and keep you reading basically!

This book delivered and more. Thee book had a wide range of characters that I believe carried over from the previous book. I was so invested I felt I was a apart` of the group going through the actions and adventure…and dare I say trials/tests that they had been through in this novel!

Darkness can be over powering especially in the dark world and what it does to our beloved characters was so intense, can they really trust what they know? Is what they believe truly the truth? There was constantly something happened, the book never lagged, or seemed boring at al! I literally could not put this one down it was my perfect genre of book, and the story was so compelling I constantly needed to know what would happen next! It was amazing from start to finish!

By far, I felt a super strong connection to Tasha and Levi. They seemed to not be perfectly connected by the start of the book, but as the story continued they seemed to entwine more and more. I really loved that connection that seemed to grow? I’m feeling I am not the only reader who thought that! Every character was remarkable in a special way! The author truly delivered and then some with this book!

The book was amazing to say the least. I really felt the connection as I said with all the characters. I really felt myself adapt to what ever they faced. I loved how they stuck together during hard times and even when all seemed lost, their will and strength relied on one another got them though! The characters and how they were written were so good, and realistic! I loved the story and the action and all the paranormal setting put into it! it was a wonderful and fun read! I defiantly look forward to more in the future from this amazing author! This was truly a book that delivered above and beyond expectations!

This was a great 5 star read. I was excited to get the 2nd book in the Masters of Consulate series. I think this may be my favorite so far in the series.

Christian is in love with Delilah. He was put in a tough predicament when she was left for dead. Not wanting to lose her, he made her immortal. Now he’s trying to keep that love stronger than ever. Delilah is a very strong and determined woman, she puts herself in danger when she decides to seek revenge. You can feel the love these two have coming off the pages.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get so much in this story, action, revenge, steaminess and so much more. There are several thrilling twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a good dark vampire romance series, this author pulls you right in and you don’t want to stop reading. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

The Lycan/Vampire vs Hellspawn War wages on. Tasha and Levi are still battling the Master Hellspawn and his minions, whom are ever adapting. Tash and Levi are also evolving during this war. This installment of The Shadow Chronicles was even more action packed and intriguing that Book 1 (Forbidden Wolf). There is a lot of action as there is a major war going on outside the base and inside the base (with Castus). The plot is well-written and does a thorough job with explaining the science they are studying to understand the Lycan/Vampire genetics. The characters are well-thought out and put together. My personal favorite, after Tasha and Levi, of course, are Tasha’s parents. Her mom has no problem putting her father in his place. The female characters are strong and confident in this book. They will go into battle without a second thought. I did not see that ending come. I’m kind of hoping a further book in the future about them? Hint, hint! Great series. Recommend this!

“Master Tuscano” has to be one of the best Vampire books I have read. Thank you Sylvia Black for this intriguing supernatural tale! You have gained a reader for life! This is a first read for me by this author, and I could not put it down for the life of me! This supernatural tale was sexy, dark, dramatic, suspenseful, original, and a book that once you start you don’t move until you are finished. Christian and Delilah as mates are a force and their love turns the supernatural world upside down.
Christian is very much a fierce Alpha male who has had his love and loyalty tested in ways you cannot imagine. His human mate Delilah is frowned upon by the supernatural world and their love is tested when he is told that they cannot be together. When she is left for dead Christian has a choice to make, and he does the only thing a true mate would do and turn her before he brings her to the Underworld.
The story takes a dramatic turn from there as Christian has taken matters in his own hand and continues to do so and Delilah slowly comes into her new supernatural state in this new world she never wanted. We watch as they test the strength of their bond, their thirst for revenge, and the dangers of the supernatural world. If you have not read it then stop and do it now!

My only disappointment is that I have yet to read book 1 of this series. Fast-paced, action-packed, and riveting are all adjectives used to describe this book. I love a heroine that does not sit and twiddle her thumbs in a corner waiting for ‘Prince Charming’ to come to rescue her. Don’t get me wrong; I do appreciate a take-charge hero as much as the next person. However, a woman that stands up and takes charge of her life and destiny is something worth writing home about; simply put Delilah is a badass. This is not the typical vampire romance novel; Sylvia brings an original and refreshing perspective to their lifestyle. I immensely enjoyed reading and recommend this book.

Yall, I said it before when I reviewed the first book in the Shadow Chronicles and I will say it again but these books are not your average vampire reads and everyone should go run and one-click them! They are just fab and I have become and instant fan of CR Robertson as a result. I love her knack for writing paranormal romance books and her ability to restore my faith in vampire reads once again. I used to love this genre and really really loved reading Anne Rice and whatnot but just became really burned out and sad when Twilight killed it, yes I know I am one of those that could have done without that whole franchise all together. Anywho Forbidden Mate took me on a magnificent ride and kept me reading late into the night. In fact it kept the hubby up too who may or may not be reading these now, oopsies lol. Not sorry actually. These books have something for everyone with action and adventure, intrigue and suspense and the underlying romance is enough to keep me so glued to the kindle I can’t bear it. I will most definitely be stalking and hoping for book three to be available soon!

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson. This book was amazing. The first book was good too and I would suggest reading it first but this book just blew everything out of the water. Its a fast paced story full of paranormal romance, drama, and vampires. This is the conclusion of Tasha and Levi’s story and it will shock you to the core. Things are more complicated as the battle continues between the Vamps and the Lycans. Castus is still totally obsessed with Tasha and will stop at nothing to have her even though she wants nothing to do with him. This is the telltale sign of whether Tasha and Levi make it and it will keep you flipping pages until you are finished. Tasha is still finding out about her powers and how to use them and of course her relationship with Levi is causing all kinds of destruction. This book is so good and I hope you will all read it.

I’ve always had an obsession with vampires, and Master Descallia: Masters of the Consultant by Sylvia Black did not let me down. Instead had me lusting after Salvatore’s dominance as the Overlord. I couldn’t begin to tell you how much I loved him and his character development.
We find Salvatore headed to Las Vegas to investigate disappearances of women that could cause a massive war if pinned on the vampire community. Within his investigation he crosses paths with Lucianna, a mortal that intrigues him.
Lucianna, who has a gift of sight, uses that in her job as police officer to help solve cases. Lucianna has been assigned to Descallia Resort to go undercover to retrieve information. When she crosses paths with Salvatore Descallia himself, she’s drawn to him, and can even penetrate his thoughts if he doesn’t put up a block.
A paranormal romance filled with quite a bit of suspense as well as some humor. If you enjoy Vampires and you enjoy romance novels, invite you to dive in and be just as captivated by Master Descallia as I am!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After having read the first book I was hooked on the writings of CR Robertson. The characters that she depicts are so descriptive that I can imagine the things she portrays them doing in her novels. I despise Castus but absolutely love the growth I am seeing in Levi and Tasha. There is absolutely no way I put these down often reading most of the book in one session.
For this book we are introduced to a few newer characters and some more twists and turns very characteristic in her writing style I’ve seen so far. With the demon hell spawn still advancing on both sides Tasha and Levi bring the Lycans and Vampires to a delicate standdown as they battle this creature who attacks without reservation. But it is hard to move on from past transgressions. As we explore the conflict between the Lycans and vampires it unlocks many surprises and secrets that everything may not be as black and white as once thought, or as night and day as it was believed. The trials and tribulations that both Levi and Tasha face will leave you hanging on tight as the twists and turns come from every angle. It is hard to describe the book to much without the potential of divulging major spoilers and as an avid reader I can’t do that to you now can I? Forbidden WolfForbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a new author to me but being an open-minded reader, I love finding new authors whose work is so captivating that I devour each novel put out. This was one book that I was unable to put down. The author does an amazing job of character development as well as her telling of the story was brilliant. Some characters you’ll love and some you’ll absolutely despise but that’s what makes this an amazing book.
Levi and Tasha come across each other in the forest both bite each other which inexplicably intertwines their futures. Both believing they are going to die after being fed tales since birth. When they don’t die, and Levi shields Tasha from dying the nature of their relationship changes and they can’t keep away. It is the tale of a sweet summer romance before heading off to battle each other because vampires and Lycans are sworn enemies, or are they? The bond formed keeps them aware of what the other is feeling even after years of fighting in a war they do not understand, until an unknown enemy attack both sides without prejudice. Can they force the sides to come together to battle this new threat? Or will the age-old battle bring about the demise of both sides? I cannot recommend reading this book enough, it is absolutely unforgettable.
