This was a great 5 star read. I was excited to get the 2nd book in the Masters of Consulate series. I think this may be my favorite so far in the series.
Christian is in love with Delilah. He was put in a tough predicament when she was left for dead. Not wanting to lose her, he made her immortal. Now he’s trying to keep that love stronger than ever. Delilah is a very strong and determined woman, she puts herself in danger when she decides to seek revenge. You can feel the love these two have coming off the pages.
Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get so much in this story, action, revenge, steaminess and so much more. There are several thrilling twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a good dark vampire romance series, this author pulls you right in and you don’t want to stop reading. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

The Lycan/Vampire vs Hellspawn War wages on. Tasha and Levi are still battling the Master Hellspawn and his minions, whom are ever adapting. Tash and Levi are also evolving during this war. This installment of The Shadow Chronicles was even more action packed and intriguing that Book 1 (Forbidden Wolf). There is a lot of action as there is a major war going on outside the base and inside the base (with Castus). The plot is well-written and does a thorough job with explaining the science they are studying to understand the Lycan/Vampire genetics. The characters are well-thought out and put together. My personal favorite, after Tasha and Levi, of course, are Tasha’s parents. Her mom has no problem putting her father in his place. The female characters are strong and confident in this book. They will go into battle without a second thought. I did not see that ending come. I’m kind of hoping a further book in the future about them? Hint, hint! Great series. Recommend this!

“Master Tuscano” has to be one of the best Vampire books I have read. Thank you Sylvia Black for this intriguing supernatural tale! You have gained a reader for life! This is a first read for me by this author, and I could not put it down for the life of me! This supernatural tale was sexy, dark, dramatic, suspenseful, original, and a book that once you start you don’t move until you are finished. Christian and Delilah as mates are a force and their love turns the supernatural world upside down. Christian is very much a fierce Alpha male who has had his love and loyalty tested in ways you cannot imagine. His human mate Delilah is frowned upon by the supernatural world and their love is tested when he is told that they cannot be together. When she is left for dead Christian has a choice to make, and he does the only thing a true mate would do and turn her before he brings her to the Underworld. The story takes a dramatic turn from there as Christian has taken matters in his own hand and continues to do so and Delilah slowly comes into her new supernatural state in this new world she never wanted. We watch as they test the strength of their bond, their thirst for revenge, and the dangers of the supernatural world. If you have not read it then stop and do it now!

My only disappointment is that I have yet to read book 1 of this series. Fast-paced, action-packed, and riveting are all adjectives used to describe this book. I love a heroine that does not sit and twiddle her thumbs in a corner waiting for ‘Prince Charming’ to come to rescue her. Don’t get me wrong; I do appreciate a take-charge hero as much as the next person. However, a woman that stands up and takes charge of her life and destiny is something worth writing home about; simply put Delilah is a badass. This is not the typical vampire romance novel; Sylvia brings an original and refreshing perspective to their lifestyle. I immensely enjoyed reading and recommend this book.

Yall, I said it before when I reviewed the first book in the Shadow Chronicles and I will say it again but these books are not your average vampire reads and everyone should go run and one-click them! They are just fab and I have become and instant fan of CR Robertson as a result. I love her knack for writing paranormal romance books and her ability to restore my faith in vampire reads once again. I used to love this genre and really really loved reading Anne Rice and whatnot but just became really burned out and sad when Twilight killed it, yes I know I am one of those that could have done without that whole franchise all together. Anywho Forbidden Mate took me on a magnificent ride and kept me reading late into the night. In fact it kept the hubby up too who may or may not be reading these now, oopsies lol. Not sorry actually. These books have something for everyone with action and adventure, intrigue and suspense and the underlying romance is enough to keep me so glued to the kindle I can’t bear it. I will most definitely be stalking and hoping for book three to be available soon!

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson. This book was amazing. The first book was good too and I would suggest reading it first but this book just blew everything out of the water. Its a fast paced story full of paranormal romance, drama, and vampires. This is the conclusion of Tasha and Levi’s story and it will shock you to the core. Things are more complicated as the battle continues between the Vamps and the Lycans. Castus is still totally obsessed with Tasha and will stop at nothing to have her even though she wants nothing to do with him. This is the telltale sign of whether Tasha and Levi make it and it will keep you flipping pages until you are finished. Tasha is still finding out about her powers and how to use them and of course her relationship with Levi is causing all kinds of destruction. This book is so good and I hope you will all read it.

Vampires, lycan, witches, and hellspawn, this book had it all! Vampires and lycan are sworn enemies so how it is possible that Levi and Tasha were able to become mates? Levi will do anything to protect his vampire mate, but will it be enough? The vampires and lycan have formed a truce, but a new enemy is at their door threatening to destroy both species. I loved the twists, turns, and the unexpected that CR Robertson gave in this story. I don’t want to give any surprises away. I loved this book and was disappointed when I came to the end. I want more!

I’ve always had an obsession with vampires, and Master Descallia: Masters of the Consultant by Sylvia Black did not let me down. Instead had me lusting after Salvatore’s dominance as the Overlord. I couldn’t begin to tell you how much I loved him and his character development. We find Salvatore headed to Las Vegas to investigate disappearances of women that could cause a massive war if pinned on the vampire community. Within his investigation he crosses paths with Lucianna, a mortal that intrigues him. Lucianna, who has a gift of sight, uses that in her job as police officer to help solve cases. Lucianna has been assigned to Descallia Resort to go undercover to retrieve information. When she crosses paths with Salvatore Descallia himself, she’s drawn to him, and can even penetrate his thoughts if he doesn’t put up a block. A paranormal romance filled with quite a bit of suspense as well as some humor. If you enjoy Vampires and you enjoy romance novels, invite you to dive in and be just as captivated by Master Descallia as I am!

After having read the first book I was hooked on the writings of CR Robertson. The characters that she depicts are so descriptive that I can imagine the things she portrays them doing in her novels. I despise Castus but absolutely love the growth I am seeing in Levi and Tasha. There is absolutely no way I put these down often reading most of the book in one session. For this book we are introduced to a few newer characters and some more twists and turns very characteristic in her writing style I’ve seen so far. With the demon hell spawn still advancing on both sides Tasha and Levi bring the Lycans and Vampires to a delicate standdown as they battle this creature who attacks without reservation. But it is hard to move on from past transgressions. As we explore the conflict between the Lycans and vampires it unlocks many surprises and secrets that everything may not be as black and white as once thought, or as night and day as it was believed. The trials and tribulations that both Levi and Tasha face will leave you hanging on tight as the twists and turns come from every angle. It is hard to describe the book to much without the potential of divulging major spoilers and as an avid reader I can’t do that to you now can I? I will shout this from the rooftops you must read this series, you won’t regret it!

This is a new author to me but being an open-minded reader, I love finding new authors whose work is so captivating that I devour each novel put out. This was one book that I was unable to put down. The author does an amazing job of character development as well as her telling of the story was brilliant. Some characters you’ll love and some you’ll absolutely despise but that’s what makes this an amazing book. Levi and Tasha come across each other in the forest both bite each other which inexplicably intertwines their futures. Both believing they are going to die after being fed tales since birth. When they don’t die, and Levi shields Tasha from dying the nature of their relationship changes and they can’t keep away. It is the tale of a sweet summer romance before heading off to battle each other because vampires and Lycans are sworn enemies, or are they? The bond formed keeps them aware of what the other is feeling even after years of fighting in a war they do not understand, until an unknown enemy attack both sides without prejudice. Can they force the sides to come together to battle this new threat? Or will the age-old battle bring about the demise of both sides? I cannot recommend reading this book enough, it is absolutely unforgettable.

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by C.R. Robertson
4-stars
Wow! Forbidden Mate was a phantastic read!! This is the second book in the Shadow Chronicles Series, a series that I highly recommend reading in order for reader enjoyment as this book follows the first one.
This paranormal read is intense, gruesome, steamy, complex and action-packed there’s never a dull moment! This author writes with so much detail that painted a clear picture playing out in my mind which kept me entertained the whole way through.
This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone looking for their next paranormal read!

Forbidden Mate is book two in The Shadow Chronicles Series and a fantastic addition to the series I might add too! I read book one, loved it and I really really loved this one as well! Maybe a smidge more than the first. The allegiance continues into this story with some tense moments! Not gonna lie I GOBBLED this baby up in one sitting! LOL I am a HUGE fan of forbidden love romance especially in the paranormal genre. So, was very excited to continue on with Levi and Tasha’s smoldering love in this book. Big reveal near the end, WOWZERS!! I’m so eager to read the next book NOW I need to know what happens next!!

So this is the second book in the series and I thoroughly enjoyed the first one so I was ready to head into this one. Ready I was. Forbidden romance always hits a little different for me and I love itttt. Honestly one of my favourite tropes. This book didn’t disappoint, don’t want to say too much because spoilers. Still loved Tasha and Levi and their relationship. If you want a romance between a vampire and wolf then this is the book for you!
This book!!! Absolutely loved this book! I managed to read this book before the first book and will be fixing that ASAP! This book was pure perfection. C.R. Robertson knocked this book out of the park. Tasha and Levi are amazing characters and I could not get enough of them.

Forbidden Mate is the second book in The Shadow Chronicles series by C.R. Robertson and impresses just as much if not more than the first! Robertson continues to develop the characters personalities as they continue the fight against the mysterious creature targeting both Lycans and Vampires. They also are in the ultimate fight to save their relationship, which causes bad blood between the Lycans and the Vampires. The thing I both hated and loved the most was seeing the storyline between Tasha and Levi wrap up, because I had grown very fond of the two characters. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series, there are a lot of unanswered questions I am curious to see answers to!

Forbidden Wolf by C. R. Robertson places a spin in the classic Enemies-to-Lovers genre, making it an intriguing read. I’ve already started the next book in the series!
From the moment vampire Tasha and lycan Levi encounter each other in a near-death situation in the forest between their bases, their future is changed forever. After a memorable summer, their adult destinies tear them apart, and many years pass before they encounter one another again. But they find that one another has changed, and question their initial attraction to one another, until Tasha realizes something that Levi did years ago and their lives change even more.
Will the battle between the Lycans and Vampires and a mysterious new foe keep them apart, or do they drift together once again, proving that if you let the one you love go, they will find their way back to you if it is truly meant to be?

While this is an enjoyable read I did struggle with it at times. It seems like I was thrown into the middle and I am missing information about things that happened. Delilah‘s whole story kind of threw me for a loop. She was captured, released and then she keeps running away from Christian. Why?? I am not sure why she would do that repeatedly. Maybe if we knew about her human side before she was turned that would give us some answers or her previous relationship with Christian. Also I don’t understand why she all of a sudden felt she needed to avenge herself, Christian and the other vampires. I would think being kidnapped and everything else that was done to her would make you more timid and wary and it would take a little bit before you would runoff on your own and face shifters, vampires and the Syndicate. Chriatian is so understandable to all her antics while trying to avenge her for himself.
There are a lot of characters in here, new and old. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous book..how they are doing and what powers they have come into. Loved that!
Vampire books are one of my favorites and I thought this would be an outstanding series. Sadly I can’t rate it quite that high. I feel like there needs to be more depth to the characters we just met, in the last few pages, or the next master (I don’t even have a connection to him to be excited to read his story). Sorry

Forbidden Mate is the second book in The Shadow Chronicles series by CR Robertson. I am stunned by this book. I liked the first one but I really like this second book. This book has even more paranormal elements with a bit of suspense thrown in. The characters have multiple depths to them. I fell in love with Tasha and Levi in book one, and it has grown with this book tenfold. Tasha and Levi’s relationship has sparked some bad blood between the vampires and Lycans. There will be a war but will Tasha and Levi stay together or will they be torn apart by the war? I highly recommend this book to see if the relationship between vampires and Lycans survives together and can save their species at the same time.

Forbidden Wolf is the first book in the series The Shadow Chronicles by CR Robertson. This is a paranormal story with vampires and Lycans. The storyline is captivating. I found myself flying through the pages because I wanted to know what was happening next. The characters are fully developed and complicated. These characters made the book. Vampires and Lycans are enemies and not to be in a relationship. That is until Tasha, a vampire, and Levi, a Lycan are in a relationship. They are seeking out answers to why they were kept apart, especially since their union could save both of their kinds. Will Tasha and Levi’s relationship become a problem or will it be the answer that they are looking for? I highly recommend this book to find out if vampires and Lycans can be bedfellows.

After reading book 1 in this series, I was very excited to get my hand on this second instalment and I was not disappointed! Again, the pace was good and the authors writing so exciting to read with amazing attention to detail – I devoured this book in only a few hours! I loved reading about Christian and Delilah – amazing characters to read about. I loved the connection that these two characters had, there was a definite genuine love between them. I really liked Christian! He was definitely my favourite character out of this book! I am very excited to read about more of the vampires in this series!! Another fantastic 5 star read and again highly recommend!

Whilst I do like paranormal it’s not my usual genre but something about this book really stood out for me, the cover, the synopsis everything just made me want to pick it up and I am SO glad that I did – it was an amazing read! I was sucked in (no pun intended) from the very first page, the characters were exciting to read about and I loved the dual POV. The pace and flow of the story was amazing and the chemistry between Salvatore and Lucianna was off the charts! I liked that it wasn’t your typical vampire story, it had a nice original feel to it! I am so excited to read the second book in the series!! I cannot recommend this book enough!! It’s a definite one click for me!

This book had me at first bite! I will admit that there was a moment I was so engrossed in the story, my partner touched my shoulder and I jumped so I high I almost threw my kindle. 😳 I also stayed up waaayy later than I should have to finish it, but that’s typical with a good read. Vampires and lycans have been at war for centuries. So long that most cannot even remember why they’re enemies anymore. Each species has grown up on horror stories of the other and to fraternize with each other is a death sentence. Tasha is a vampire that is quite the loaner. She is one of those girls that you automatically notice and know are special, but they can’t see it in themselves. She’s also reckless and adventurous which is what leads us to meet Levi the lycan. Levi … Ugh! I love me a dominant character!! As most wolves must be, he is a wild and dominant character – only a little moreso as he is a black wolf; and that only grows as the story progresses. I’m definitely going to immediately dive into the next book as I am not ready for this story to end yet.

Ya’ll. I gotta be honest. I’m not a huge fan of series where it’s the same main characters throughout the books- but this series is an exception. I LOVE Tasha and Levi’s forbidden love. I’ve always liked supernatural/paranormal/romance books and this is the best of all of those worlds. I really enjoyed the first one and this one is no different! I thought the twists/trials/trouble was interesting in Forbidden Wolf and was wondering if Forbidden Mate would be the same and it was. This is a fantastic series and I am EAGER for the next installment! Onto the next! (:

I have read the previous book in the series, and let me say it was so good and addictive and I was very excited to read this one as well! I can happily say, this one spared no exceptions. It was addictive, steamy, sexy, and full of danger and everything else I wanted from the first novel to carry through with!
This one we follow the new two lead characters whom had the staring roles in this novel! Christian and Delilah…a human and vampire. Basically two souls though not from the same world, truly loved one another, with their hearts rather than mainly just lust and sex appeal as the first book strongly gave off on regarding the main story line. Christian is a vampire as well as Master of the Consulate. Delilah is a human. They believe it does not matter they live in different worlds, because they a real thing going on.
Sadly, people of Christian’s world are dead set against this relationship. The fact that they are well bonded, makes things worst. Delilah is left dead. Christian who does not want to ever picture a life without her, decides to make her like him. Was it a wise decision How would the Consulate react to this new soul in their world? Also how would Delilah going to react to life as to what she is now?
As things progressed after that big event, things come to light that Christian did this on his own and not gained permission of his Consulate. He did this as an act of love. Selfish to some, but only true to he knew she was his mate till the end of time. He wasn’t about to let what could be a life time, basically be ripped from his hands.
Delilah on the other hand had to take time to progress this. This was a huge change for her. And everything she ever knew, or loved, was forever different and viewed different. Things happen, and well the Consulate want to keep these two lovers separated. Delilah (loved her character by the way) was a very strong woman even after she was turned, to speak her mind. Christian was her mate as well. Despite people’s opinions she did not care. She knew where she belonged and was going to do so anyway even if some souls did not like it, or want it to be.
Their love was defiantly tested in this novel. Things were not rainbows at first. They truly had to work through things as mates to truly decide with this great ordeal if this is the fate they are destined for as well as if this is the truest thing that they want? Things begin to tie loose ends with what happened with Delilah and how Christian’s world is in danger from different shape shifters. He wants revenge for his mate, and basically for having to be forced to turn her with no consent. Christian is forced to take a back seat and not go after what he wants, and this is revenge, but he has his Delilah who is strong and fierce and is the very woman he fell in love with, she gathers the females’ souls and goes forward with her band of wit basically to seek revenge and prepare for the show down that would unfold!
In conclusion, what made this book as amazing as it was, was basically Christian and Delilah’s love. It was good then it was very rocky. Then fate gave them reasons not to be mated for life. And they gave them a million why they should be together. I loved that. They proved they were meant to rule one another’s hearts even when the times were well worst than bad. Their love, chemistry, attraction, as well as their connection only grows as the story develops. It really gave everything I wanted and then some!
I loved both these two books in the series. I can not wait to see what this amazing author brings next in the third novel when I get my hands on it. I know it will be nothing short of amazing. The story and writing is so good and you really bond with the characters which I love. The book fine details of places as well as the characters was so good to the fine points all through out the novel. I loved it more than words can say. I was more than impressed. Amazing read! Loved it greatly, and I await the 3rd with eagerness!

THIS SERIES! Just when I thought I couldn’t be more enthralled, CR Robertson went and did it again! The love story between Tasha and Levi is incredible and I love every bit of their relationship together. This story adds more insight to what has been happening with the Hellspawn and creates a whole new set of problems that the couple (and the rest of the new clan) will have to figure out and deal with. I thought that I loved the first installment of this series, but this book has quickly claimed that spot. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for more. The whole story is amazing and the ending leaves you wanting so much more! Keep it up, CR! I cannot wait to see what’s next.

Another great book by C.R. Robertson. Another great read of a story of two people that were forbidden to be together and the way that they fight to be together. Will all the twists and turns you never know what the next page will have, it’s a real page turner. It’s a very fast-paced, complex, action packed, paranormal romance, that will have you wanting more. This incredible story with its vampires, Lycans, hell spawn, witches, all in one story is incredible how she weaves it all together for this incredible story. The battle scene and the sizzling encounters are so amazing it kept me wanting more. This Is a must read and can’t wait for the next one.

The thrilling second book for the Masters of the Consulate did not disappoint. We know from the first book that the main heroine in this story has suffered terribly and she already has her mate in Christian Tuscano. The story is really about Christian having to woo his mate again, in fear that she is too fragile from her prior ordeals. But we find that Delilah’s ordeals have made her stronger and she finds strength in herself. In this case, there is no maiden to be saved. She does the saving, herself. I enjoyed this book much more than the first.
Thank you Ms Black for a steamy vampire with soul.

Second book in the Masters of the Consulate series – yes read book one first. This action-packed book has an ongoing plot that began in the first book. In this story, several factions are trying to sully the vampires’ reputation by abducting women and making it look like it is the vampires. These stories are made for the big screen and hope one day someone picks them up. In this particular story, the romance between Christian and Delilah is front and center. Delilah is feeling unwanted in the vampire world and takes off to get revenge for the women abducted. Christian is ready to let everything go for the woman he loves. Great romance, very real action, and very real characters!
