Wild Vamp (Jaded Vamp Book 2) is the second book in the Jaded Vamp series. While you can read this as a stand a lone, I recommend reading them in order. L.D. Wosar takes Underworld to a whole new level. This novel is set in the future. While I enjoyed reading it, it left me a little confused. More so because I started with book 2 instead of reading them in order. L.D. Wosar is a wonderful author. Wosar takes an imaginative step into the future and describes what could happen.

This book puts a new spin on the classic vampire tale. These are vampires of the 21st century and technology has brought them a LONG way. A captivating story line with plenty of twists and turns in the quest to find “whodunnit”. Intrigue, action, suspense, romance, and mystery are packed into every page. I didn’t want to put it down! The laundry can wait….get to reading!

This story grabbed my supernatural heart’s attention right away. Vampires? Check. Lycans? Check. Angst and lust and absolutely not following the rules. You guessed it, check.

We follow Tasha, the vampire who questions everything and Levi, the lycan throughout the story.

I was absolutely sucked in (see what I did there) from the moment I started reading. The story progresses very quickly and it’s not something I wanted to put down. It doesn’t leave you disappointed and I truly hope there is more to this!

I’ve always been a fan of paranormal romance and this book is up there in my top favorites! This is an absolute must read! Tasha and Levi aren’t supposed to even speak to each other. One night changes everything for both of them and life isn’t the same afterwards. I cannot wait to read book two in the series! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this story. The author knows just how to pull you in and keep you wanting more! This story is perfectly written! I read this in less than 24 hours!!! I highly recommend this book!

This was a fun book to read and quite surprising. I just love Vampire Lawyer Donovan Trait and his “air” about him how he comes across in the courtroom. Then there is this suspense on whom is starting to kill lawyers including Donovan (or they are trying). The book has some twists on the mindset on whom is responsible and I love every word of this book. I also loved the sweet romance between Donovan and Shirley (whom is a judge). I am really hoping for another book in this series by the author. This book is a great read.

Tasha and Levi are sworn enemies by nature, but after a night of passion, their lives are changed forever. They both know their love would never be accepted by either species, and the consequences of their actions could literally kill them. With their own problems looming on the horizon, Tasha and Levi must soon work together to face an enemy that threatens both of their species. But with this new threat and the forbidden nature of their love, it’s clear solving the problem isn’t going to be easy. If you like romance, action, and vampire/werewolf themes, you’ll enjoy Forbidden Wolf.

Forbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson is the first book in the Shadow Chronicles. This is an absolutely fantastic book that sucks in you right from the word go. It is exciting and adventurous. I loved how there was such a mix of characters. Each one seemed to have a part to play and were written so well that I was fully invested.
After reading the blurb I expected this to be similar to other books I have read of this type and yet it felt refreshing and new. The author managed to put their own stamp on the storyline so that it was easy to differentiate.
This is a brilliant book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am already looking forward to book two.

This is a great paranormal story. It contains my favourite things vampires and werewolves and romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. From their first meeting you get caught up in the connection between Tasha and Levi. Their connection is hot and passionate and the fact that it’s forbidden makes their feelings even stronger. How can something that feels so right be so wrong?
Their story has love and heartbreak when their summer ends and Levi and Tasha have to part and fight for their own species against each other.
You can feel the turmoil and the heartache this causes them both.
Can their love survive? Is their love the trigger needed to reunite their species after all the years of war or will they be punished for a love they feel is right. I was gripped from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

Where to even start with Forbidden Wolf? What a fantastic novel! Tasha, a lonely vampire, meets Levi, a strong, powerful lycan, by accident one night. What starts as a chance encounter quickly escalates into a forbidden love as the lycans and vampires are sworn enemies. Keeping their love a secret grows increasingly hard as they fall more and more for one another. But their love could be the death of them if either Levi’s pack or Tasha’s coven finds out. When a common enemy threatens both sides, Tasha and Levi may hold the only key to survival.

This story is amazing! Beautifully written, I was rooting for Levi and Tasha from the first time they met–their relationship, the undeniable pull they feel for each other, their stolen moments together. The evil this face is creepy, dark, twisted, and unique. C.R. Robertson knows how to write! I am really looking forward to the second novel to see how it all plays out.

WILD VAMP (JADED VAMP BOOK 2) AUDIO BOOK by L.D. WOSAR was a great listen! I loved the action and characters. Listening to the narrator was great, it felt like a lot of effort went into bringing the characters to life. Kaysee was a great female lead; so strong and decisive. Not everything worked out, but that just made her more relatable.

Vampires, Lycans and Hybrids oh my….

The second book in the Jaded Vamp series, and oh so very different then the first book. I love how much we see the characters grow between the first and second book. The time jump was concerning at first but the more I read the better idea it was. Kaysee is a badass; we see that with every new chapter, she’s a master swordswomen, a mother, a wife and a queen bee to an entire coven of vampires. This is definitely not your typical vampire romance novel. I’m not sure what I was expecting in this series but what I got was a very steamy adult romance novel, with the added bonus of fantasy.

Ummm HECK YES! This was my first CR Robertson book and honestly my first experience with an almost otherworldly vamp/wolf/something else dark and unknown (but in reality very well known) combo, so I was excited to see how it went. I have to say I am truly left with a gnawing need to know what happens next! Forbidden Wolf is a fantastic weaving of Lycan/vamp lore, action, romance, mystery, and has a slight dystopian feel. Where life is dangerous, unknown, more darkness than light, more obstacle than opportunity but mixed in with an absolutely beautiful love that goes beyond words and sex to something eternal. The steam is amazing, the characters are 3D and full of life, and the world is stunning and devastating at the same time. It has more angst than I normally read, but I am totally down for this type of push and pull, especially when Levi’s wolf gets involved! Something in me is drawn to his absolute certainty and claiming of Tasha, it’s the kind of devotion human women are drawn to…darned wolves and vamps get all the animalistic mating intensity. I will definitely be reading Part 2 and have found a new author to follow, watch, read!

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by CR Robertson
4 Stars

I really enjoyed this book because of the fact that the story was original. As this is the first book in the series, I foresee it being quite interesting. It has the usual lycan and vampire rivalry but it was so much more. This book reminded me of the movie Underworld with the vampires being soldiers in a mindless war against the lycans. All her life, Tasha just wanted to be free. Prowling the rainforest at night, she could finally be herself. One fateful night, she met Levi and she was forever changed. Never in his life did Levi expect to meet someone like Tasha. They had one blissful summer together before both had to join the army. If anyone found out about them, it would be a certain death sentence.

A book filled with secrets and lies, action and drama. The author builds a solid foundation for the rest of the series. I loved the main characters and absolutely hated the bad guys which proves what a good writer Ms. Robertson is. There were moments when I found the book a little long but it’s worth pushing through. At one point Tasha did frustrate me, I’ll be honest. Levi literally changed the world fir her and she still wasn’t sure how he felt about her. Come on, wake up Tasha! I’m very excited to find a new series. I can’t wait to read the next part.

WILD VAMP (JADED VAMP BOOK 2) by L.D. WOSAR. This is the second book in the Jaded Vamp Book and it was really good. Its the story of vampire and Lycan hybrids and demise of their world. Kaysee Belluomo is a very powerful vampire who is hell bent on a mission to find her missing husband and son. The world she is going to is Vycans which is a vampire/lycan hybrid). She is determined to fight to the death to save her son and husband no matter how violent or bloody it gets. Kaysee is devastated at the thought of losing her husband and son so she is determined to do what it takes to find them and bring them back. I didn’t read the first book but was able to figure this one out pretty quick but I do think it was be easier to keep up if you read book 1 first. I did figure out really quickly that Dominic was a piece of work. He is not what he appears to be and I hope Kaysee figures it out before its too late! This is a fast paced paranormal romance that you will immensely enjoy!

This book is a non-stop action filled read that will suck you in from page one and keep you hooked until the crazy cliffhanger ending that will leave you wanting more right now! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I scooped it up having never read CR Robertson before but I was enthralled by the cover and wanted to know more. I was completely grasped and knew that I was not disappointed I had grabbed this five star read by the time I finished chapter one. This is not your typical vamp fights Lycan Twilight spin off read. It will challenge the stereotypes you have come to build behind those for sure. I can’t say enough good things about this book and I am anxious to see what the next one in the series will bring us.

Forbidden WolfForbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This started off as a wonderfully romantic story. These two can not be together but they found a forbidden love. Kinda Romeo and Juliet style. Then this story takes a weird turn. A third party shows up and wants Tasha. This part just threw me for a loop. I really couldn’t figure out where this was going. Not sure I am a huge fan of this part. It took the story from paranormal to almost sci-fi. But it certainly is full of action, drama and some great smexy scenes. At times I didnt care for Tasha. For a vamp she is not too confident in her man. I mean he is changing the world…so at times he is a busy beaver…I mean wolf. By the end I was really rooting for her to be strong and him to not lose her.

The secondary characters..well I either loved or hated them. I did enjoy Radar and the relationship he has with Levi. As well as I wonder what that Donovan is all about. I bet he comes out to play more fully in future books.

Overall is it a different kind of paranormal. Full of characters that really get under my skin. I couldn’t help but wish them the best by the end.

OMG! This was everything I had hoped for, and more! All the stars!!!!
Forbidden Wolf is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles by C.R Robertson. I love C.R Robertson’s work- so I really couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. When it landed on my Kindle, I put aside the other book I had been reading and jumped right in. To say I loved it is an understatement. If I could give t more than 5 stars I would! I was torn between devouring every word and savouring every word by pacing myself and drawing out the experience. But the story, and characters, were just so good they pulled me into their world, keeping me glued to the pages- and all I could do was hold on tight for an unforgettable ride.
As with her other work that I have read, this has a captivating storyline and fantastic characters. This is another masterfully crafted paranormal romance, with a complex, multi-layered, and addictive storyline. The story is action-packed, with drama, danger, hidden agendas, secrets, paranormal beings, war, violence, adventure, sizzling encounters, fated mates, and high stakes. I loved Ms. Robertson’s original take on Vampire and Lycan lore, she held me spellbound, devouring her story in one sitting.
Fate played a hand in bringing Levi and Tasha together, Levi being a werewolf and Tasha being a vampire, they are sworn enemies- as vampires and Lycans have been at war for what seems like forever. They shouldn’t be drawn to each other. But fate, and their combustible chemistry have other ideas. The war threatens to rip them apart, and dangers stalks, threatening to destroy everything. Maybe the only way to survive is to work together. But Ms. Robertson doesn’t make things easy, they will be tested on every level- and what ensues makes for a completely riveting read! #mustread
I really can’t wait to get my hands on the second book, I need it STAT!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, C.R Robertson!

What could be more challenging than vampires and werewolves? Hybrids!! Yes, Kaycee, queen of the local coven, just wants respect and to kick some butt to protect her coven from Pantheos and his group of hybrids. Kaycee is a strong feminine character that shows courage and determination. She is a good leader when the rest of the coven listen. Told through multiple POV’s, we do see the story from many angles which helps keep the plot easy to follow. It was a good story for the paranormal fantasy loverl

First, let me say that I really enjoyed the actual story of this book, however there was not enough setup of the actual characters. A number of characters were introduced in a very short amount of time, making it a bit confusing at first, but once you settle in the book is really good! I loved that you have a vampire that has chosen to become a lawyer in a rather large city in the United States. I do believe that a little more time spent on each of the characters would be awesome, and I’m hoping that in future novels the author will spend time developing the characters as much as they developed the story. I went around in circles trying to figure out the who-dun-it of this book, and in the end, well, you’ll see! All in all, an excellent book!

I give Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by C.R. Robertson, 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. The forbidden vampire/lycan romance has been done before, but this author puts such a fresh and interesting spin on it. Story pulled me in and kept reading until the end. Just when I thought the end was near, the author throws another curveball. I love that in my books. However, what really makes this book for me is the characters. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them at first, but as they grow and experience things, they develop into such great characters, multi-faceted and have their flaws too, but big hearts. The secondary characters are also wonderful and I hope to see more of them later in the series– both the good and bad guys.

If you enjoy paranormal adventure/romance books with great characters, this book is for you. It is the beginning of what promises to be a great series.

First, We Kill All the LawyersFirst, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First We Kill All The Lawyers is Book One in The Donovan Trait Series by author Seelie Kay. Donovan Trait is a charismatic and drop-dead gorgeous lawyer that ladies fawn over and that everyone wants to be like. His charm and good looks, combined with his knowledge of the law has kept him winning cases in the court room for over three hundred years. A little seduction of judges and juries along the way has not hurt his court cases either and his appetite is insatiable both in and out of the courtroom.

Donovan Trait is unstoppable and untouchable, or so he thinks, until someone sets their sights on him and marks him for murder. Luckily for him, Vampires do not die. The problem is, after several hundred years he has finally met the love of his life who is a human. Shirley is a Judge that Donovan met during one of his cases who turns out to be a match for Donovan both in and out of the courtroom. She is beautiful, vivacious, and smart. However, she is merely mortal and marked for death. They now must battle for their lives as they are hunted like prey by an unknown killer whose motives are unbeknown to them. Donovan and his lady love must combine their skills and their knowledge to save their lives and catch the killer that has set their sights on them and marked them both for death.

First We Kill All The Lawyers had me on edge throughout as I became immersed in Donovan’s life. I felt his pain as he clung to life after several attempts on his life. I waited with bated breath to see if his lady love would survive the attempt on her life. I anxiously turned the pages to see if this man would find his happily ever after or if fate would intervene. I recommend this book and cannot wait to read more books in this series.

WILD VAMP (JADED VAMP BOOK 2) AUDIO BOOK by L.D. WOSAR – Review by Kerry Baker

Wild Vamp Audio Book by L.D. Wosar is the second book in the Jaded Vamp series. This is a book that I had previously read so was looking forward to the audio book version to revisit the story.

Unfortunately I did find myself struggling with the audio book version. I knew to expect it jumping between the different POV’s however I didn’t expect to find it as confusing while listening to it. I kept losing track of the characters. This was also the first book I have listened to that felt a bit over produced. The music and the effects that peppered the narration were, for me, a little off putting.

That being said this is still worth the 4* review I have given as the story itself I know to be great and everything I have mentioned was just my personal preference over audio books. I am certain that there are plenty of people who would be looking for this type of narration that would thoroughly enjoy this book. I would definitely recommend you listen to this book – although I would recommend doing the series in order for a better enjoyment.

This book caught me by surprise. I was like oh yet another Lycan and vampire forbidden love story. But IT was nothing as I thought. Though it does have that as a major theme to the overall story, that’s not it. There is a secret connection between the two races that they seem to be oblivious about. This book is the beginning of this series and I am looking forward to reading more of it. But in this, while being introduced to Robertson’s world you meet several characters that I assume will take center focus as each story is told. But in this one Tasha and Levi. I love their story so hard.

This book was completely different than book one. The characters that are in both books have changed drastically and we are now 50 years in the future. The story has a lot of action that starts right away with twists and turns that keep you guessing the intentions of the characters and wondering what will happen next. It is set in multiple locations in a distopian landscape.

This urban fantasy/distopian novel is full of action, creatures of the night, and some hot scenes. To me, it is reminiscent of the Underworld movie franchise.

Forbidden Wolf is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles series by CR Robertson.

This story is a paranormal romance, and I was thoroughly invested right from the start. The main characters, Tasha and Levi, are from very different worlds. They should only be acquainted as enemies, but they soon realise they have so much more. With so many obstacles to overcome, their relationship should be doomed from the start, but they are strong-willed and full of passion.
I really enjoyed this story. I thought the author did a great job on a new take on a paranormal romance, and the characters are so well written it really keeps you hooked until the end. I will definitely be reading book two!

WILD VAMP (JADED VAMP BOOK 2) AUDIO BOOK by L.D. WOSAR – Review by Bridget McCullough

This is book 2 in the Jaded Vamp series and the action in this one takes place 50 years after the events of the 1st book. This is definitely a fast paced book, if you enjoy fast paced stories, this is for you! I personally would have liked to see more in each scene as these characters are written with such great intricacy that I’d like to see more of their thoughts and emotions.

I particularly loved Kaysee. Her character felt very real and raw to me. She wasn’t written to make every correct decision but she also didn’t fall into any of the normal tropes of female characters who make bad decisions. She generally made good and logical decisions but we got to see the why behind them and really experience the dark thoughts that make us all human even though we’d never admit it.

Then there was Dom. As a character he reminded me a lot of a high school jock who grew up to be a biker. Not that he was either of those things being an immortal vampire, but the personality was there. At different phases of the book I wavered between despising him and empathizing with him while agreeing with the decisions he made even though I didn’t necessarily like them. It’s rare that I find a character who elicits such complex emotional feelings in a book and I really hope that in the next one we get to see more of the inner turmoil of all of our characters.

There were of course several other characters in the book including our bad guys and with the head hopping writing style, we get a glimpse into all of them which affords us a unique perspective of not just the good but also the bad characters and what fuels them as well. It brings a unique perspective of humanity to the villains rather than just painting them as evil and writing their feelings off.

All in all, I quite enjoyed the writing style of this book; my only complaint was that there wasn’t more of it!

All hail Queen Kaysee! I love a novel that has a strong female lead, and this certainly delivered on that! I found myself pulled into an alternate world, where humans are no longer the alphas and the fight between different vampires, and hybrids, and witches comes into play. Vycans are starting to take over, and it’s up to Kaysee to pull herself together after a great loss, to bring her Coven of Vampires to battle. Wow! I was blown away by the buildup of the characters, the description of the weak/strong minded, and the family ties that have you rooting for them until the end. Though this isn’t a genre I tend to read, I’ll be looking forward to Book 3 of this amazing trilogy. Well done, L.D. Wosar!
