Sienna has spent her whole life unwanted and is marked as unwanted. This is a very complaining Dystopian Fantasy which i could not stop reading. I found this book very well written and very engaging there is a great deal of attention to detail. I was extremely intrigued by the story and can’t wait to see where it leads

EverMarked (The EverMarked Series Book 1) by A.J Eversley – Review by Angela Hayes

EverMarkedEverMarked by A.J. Eversley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

EverMarked is the first book in The EverMarked Series by A.J Eversley. It is a young adult dystopian fantasy with sci-fi elements, action, adventure, suspense, romance, mystery, and so much more. This is the first book that I have read from A.J Eversley, so I really didn’t know what to expect from the story. But the cover drew me to the book and the blurb sealed the deal. I enjoyed the story, and even though it was a little slow at times and I didn’t fully connect with one of the two MC’s, I am invested enough to want to continue the series- as well as explore the “Watcher Trilogy” which is apparently set in the same ‘world’, only set much earlier in time- sounds intriguing.
Sienna is a Marked Kid, (and the whole concept behind that is incredibly original and interesting) who has spent her entire life in an orphanage. She dreams of being “free” and imagining what life will be like once she’s out. Fighting in the Underground is her means-to-an-end.
Jayla’s a watcher whose mission is to keep the city safe. But a threat has emerged, which will test them all. With the explosion rocking the city, Jayla is determined to track down the ones responsible. Discoveries are made, which places the Marked Kids in the middle of everything. What ensues makes for an interesting read.
Ending on a cliffhanger, I am intrigued by where this series is headed and what I might discover in the next book.

Thank you, A.J Eversley!

Wow, just wow. EverMarked by AJ Eversley, started out as a nicely paced story. I’m thinking yeah this is nice, I can just take my time with this. And really you can, until about halfway. From there on it’s a breakneck speed. I couldn’t put it down and when I got to the last page, I was lamenting the end of the book. I want to say there are two main characters Sienna and Jayla, but that’s not truly accurate because nearly every character in this book has a back story, stories within stories. Action, adventure, stress, and even romance. Did I mention I was inconsolable when the story ended? A great beginning to this series, I really cannot wait till the next one.

This book is crazy good! I Love it! The story drew me in from the beginning and didn’t let go til the last page. The action and suspense that fill these pages is enormous! I really didn’t know what was going to happen next. The characters are different and interesting. We are dealing with six kids. They are marked, pur and/or Watchers. Sierra, Theo and Vic are the Marked. Jayla, Caspian and Em are the Watchers. When their worlds collide everything as they knew it goes up in smoke. I enjoyed each group and liked watching them bicker like siblings and change as the circumstances around them warranted it.

This is my first book by this author. The flow of the story is fast paced. It’s a wonderful dystopian story. It made me care and worry about the characters. It made me want to know more about the Void and what these Marked kids are doing. That ending?! Just WOWED me! I can’t wait for the next in the series!

This is a fantastic gripping read that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The authors attention to detail and her building of the characters are what brings this book to life for me. With the strong characters and the fantasy aspect I really enjoyed it.

Sienna is a Marked kid. These people aren’t welcome in the world. After a peace treaty between the humans and the Carbons took place they live side by side in harmony. Or so they think.

Sienna is a Marked Child which means she isn’t human and she isn’t Carbon so she doesnt belong. To find her way out of the situation she is in she fights in underground brawls. She is unbeaten so when she is offered one last fight cant she will to get her freedom.

Jayla is another girl who is a Watcher. Her job is to protect humans from Carbon attacks. However she is put in a situation she doesnt want to be in when she has to help Sienna and Theo when they get into trouble.

This book is well written and really enjoyable .

This is a fantastic start of a series for people who love action trilogies like these of this genre. This book starts off the first chapter showing you just how heroic these characters are in the world that is theirs starting with Sienna who is in the arena and battling as a mere human against others more powerful than she is but she proves herself worthy of a win. Things get even more interesting as Jayla who is set out to protect the city at large must return to the arena to uncover a hidden truth. This book is action-packed, unpredictable, inspirational with brilliant characters in an original setting. I loved reading each page of this one kept me guessing but also the origin about how the differences are apparent and molded together to complete a story that will leave you well entertained. I loved reading this one. Be sure to enjoy this one!

This is a sweet story that I really enjoyed. This is one of my favorites by this author for sure. I enjoyed being pulled into the story right from the beginning. It is engaging and I found it to be fast paced. I had no problems connecting with the characters. They kept me turning pages to the end. They made the story entertaining and easy to read. This is a story about Cami. She wants nothing more than to be a musician. When she gets hired and one chance to prove herself with a rock legend. This is where she meets Dylan but the problem is that he is hiding something that could destroy Cami’s dreams. What happens next you will need to read this story which I highly recommend. They are strong and supportive characters you don’t want to miss. This made a great rainy afternoon story. Don’t miss out on this one!

Just One Song (Just One… Book 2)
By Lynn Stevens
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Just One Song (Just One… Book 2) by Lynn Stevens. It is a story that once I started reading it, I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Cami and Dylan. Cami is a young woman who knows what she wants. She wants to sing and be the next musical sensation. She believes she will only gain from an experience in working with the amazing performer Hank Walker. She soon finds herself attracted to Hank’s son Dylan as he helps her with her dreams. Dylan is a young man that finds Cami very attractive. Something is holding him back. Read this story to find out what happens to Cami and Dylan. This is an emotional story that had my emotions going up and down like a rollercoaster. There are conflicted emotions, hurt feelings, and a relationship that is trying to be born. There are also additional characters introduced. They each have their part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about their interactions with Dylan and Cami. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. Don’t miss out on an entertaining story that you won’t want to stop reading until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

EverMarked by AJ Eversley a fast-paced four-star read. This is number one in the EverMarked series and shows great promise. This is one that you need to focus on, there seemed to be a lot going on and lots of characters to keep track of, but it kept you hooked and the author has fantastic attention to detail. Sienna and Jayla tell the story and they tell a great story, but there are other characters who play important parts in the story and what a story. As you get deeper into the chapters you get deeper into the story and it just gets deep. This is a great story and with a little more polish and a little less going on all at the same time at points it would make a great five-star read. I for one can’t wait for the next instalment.

EverMarked (EverMarked Series #1) by AJ Eversley

EverMarked is like The Hunger Games, but a thousand times better. Eversley has really outdone herself with this book and I can’t wait for the next EverMarked Series book.

Sienna, a Marked Kid, isn’t a normal kid. She isn’t human, but she’s not a Carbon. She’s a mixture. Things aren’t as she thought and it’s getting hard for her. The quote I chose for Sienna is: “But that doesn’t make sense. What happens when we get out of here? Will they still fear us?”

Jayla, a Watcher, finds herself in the one place she doesn’t want to be. She helps Sienna and Theo out when they find themselves in a tight spot. When things get bad Jayla turns to Cas. The quote I chose for Jayla is: “I haven’t forgotten, Em. I know very well what our job is, and that’s why I say we wait.”

This book is fantastic and I highly recommend it. Two girls, both afraid of the same thing.

I didn’t know what exactly I was getting myself into with EverMarked, but I knew I had to see what it was all about after spotting a few teasers and that fab cover art. I am new to AJ Eversley’s work but this was a perfect introduction. EverMarked is the first book in a new dystopian series from Eversley and is one that will keep you glued to the edge of your seat all the way up until the cliffhanger that will have you begging for book two NOW.

The idea of the ‘marked kids’ is a good one but is brought to life with the characters of Sienna and Jayla. Sienna has spent her whole life wanting to escape and be done with the orphanage she lives in for the marked kids. Her way out is to fight in the Underground but there is so much more that she is about to find in her path to freedom. This book will keep you guessing and wanting to know what will happen before it gets there. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in book two!

EverMarked by AJ Eversley is a YA Sci Fi/Dystopian story and a great start to the series. AJ is a new author to me but I read something that was gripping, engaging and well written. There is lots of dynamics that make it hard to put down. The plot is enticing and the characters were likable and AJ’s world building was vivid and exciting.
This is one that the not only will the YA world enjoy but others who love a good Sci Fi/Dystopian story.

I loved reading the book EverMarked by AJ Eversley. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that includes action, mystery, danger, and even a bit of romance. I loved reading about the characters of Sienna and Jayla. Sienna is an intelligent, strong, and independent girl. She is one that will protect those she cares about. Jayla is a girl who is helping to keep the city that she lives in safe. She is one that has a fierce determination to understand what is going on around her and won’t stop until she finds the truth. I grew to care about what happens to Sienna and Jayla with each chapter the I read. You can’t help but root for them to succeed in whatever they need to accomplish. This is a story that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I felt like I was right there with them. Other additional characters are introduced. Some of them are helpful, some have hidden agendas, and then there are those who I wondered what their true motives were. Don’t miss out on a book that is intriguing and entertaining. Sienna has spent her entire life inside the DEZ, a glorified orphanage for unwanted Marked kids. Finally, she’s only months away from graduation. For over a year she’s worked hard to prepare for life outside the DEZ, but being the arena’s champion isn’t always an easy task…even for the notorious Blaze. Fighting in the Underground isn’t about the thrill or the glory, though Sienna has achieved both, it’s about the money—and a way out.

When an explosion rocks the city of Cytos, the Marked kids find themselves at the center of a brewing war. Desperation brings Sienna into the arena one last time, only her opponent, the Wraith, won’t be so easy to defeat. And for Sienna, failure is not an option.

Jayla is a Watcher. She’s been tasked with keeping her city safe from an enemy the citizens don’t even know exists. For over 150 years the Watchers have kept them safe, but a darkness has awoken, and even the shadows have gone quiet in fear.

When Jayla fails to stop the explosion at the Genetics Lab, she and her team vow to find those responsible. Soon they discover the Marked kids are at the center of it all. To figure out what’s going on, Jayla will have to step back into the arena and become something she thought she’d tried to forget. She must become the Wraith, even if only for a night, to acquire an ally and a way into the DEZ. But can she do it without losing herself again?

Peace has always been the goal, and they’ve succeeded for a long time, but at what cost? How long can a deadly secret be hidden from the world? This isn’t a fight for glory and riches…this is a battle of survival.

As an avid reader from a young age, it only made sense that one day I would write my own stories. I grew up in a small town in central Alberta, Canada where there wasn’t much to do but read, cheer on the Oilers and attempt to enjoy the long winter months.

I began writing when the ideas and stories in my head kept filling up space and I knew I had to get them on paper. My first book series, The WATCHER Series, is now available, and my second four-book series The EVERMARKED Series, set in the same world is currently being released (Book One is now available).

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash Book 3) by Amanda Marin, is the culmination of the Crimson sash series. I have to admit it didn’t actually go the way I thought it would, I think it went a whole lot better. I always like to be surprised; I always like it when the ending is a little bit different than what I imagined. Neve and Micah have fought a hard fight for love. You can’t leave this book unread. I have enjoyed this series for the wonderful story that it is, but also for the parts of it that reflect our present society.

It is my suggestion that you read these books in order for the best experience and you will get to know Neve and Micah that much better. Neve and Micah are two very strong people and they have been through so much to be together and in this book they want to fight back. What will happen when they do? There were unexpected twists and turns in this story. The author did an exceptional job making me feel like I was right there in the story. I found this book to be entertaining, heartbreaking, emotional, and hopeful. I highly recommend this book you won’t want to miss out on this wonderful book and series.

Flicker to FIre by Amanda Marin is the third and final book in the Crimson Sash series. I highly recommend reading the books in order because the story lines flow from the beginning to the end of the series. This book is a great conclusion to this series. Neve and Micah are operatives for Sans Murs and are trying to create a better world. The problem gets explosive with the conflicts gaining steam. Will they be able to extinguish the fire before it’s too late?
I have enjoyed the development of Neve and Micah through the series and how they have grown in people with strong beliefs and loyalties. The setting is dystopian with a twist of fantasy but is not so unrealistic to be relatable. I have enjoyed this series and was happy with how the series was ended. I look forward to reading more from Amanda Marin in the future.

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash, #3)Flicker to Fire by Amanda Marin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flicker to Fire, is book three in Amanda Marin’s ‘Crimson Sash’ series. It continues the story of Neve Hall and Micah Ward which began in the first book, ‘North to Nara’ and continued in ‘Sky to Sea’.This is a Young Adult dystopian fantasy series set in a dystopian world with two waring factions the ‘New Republic’ and the ‘Nation’. The couple find themselves in Kébec Village, the refugee centre, and as Sans Murs operatives they begin documenting all of the the Nation’s human rights violation cases as the escapees who arrive at the centre tell them of their stories. However the border wall separating the two factions is crumbling and with it the safety it provides. Meanwhile Isla Pryce’s mission to purge the Nation of Sufferers is just getting started and as Micah has been unfaithful to his vows he is at risk from the vicious Inquisition Board. When mysterious Blythe Thatcher enters the village having been on the run from Pryce, Neve believes she can help Sans Murs further its cause, and help rid the Nation of its awful Suffering system. Once the Nation uncovers their plan, however, the warring factions struggle which started as a flicker quickly turns to fire. Neve and Micah are the only ones who can extinguish the flame but it will be dangerous. No spoilers, I recommend you read the book and the two previous novels in this series.
This is a well written book with a solid storyline, great characters and it moves along at a fast pace. I was gripped from page one and found myself totally immersed in the dystopian world Marin has created, thanks to her amazing world building. Neve and Micah are a great couple who ultimately just want to be together and live in a safe place peacefully. I found the couple likeable, realistic and with a ‘normal’ relationship amidst this dystopian world. I was cheering them on throughout the book and I really cared about their outcome. Blythe was a fascinating new character. Marin has a way of writing and describing the characters that makes you as the reader really get to know them and care for them.

I have loved loved loved this series. I already can not wait to read them all again. I didn’t know how much I loved the dystopian genre until picking these up. I don’t advise reading them out of order or as stand alones, the story is so heartbreakingly beautiful from start to finish that you would not be getting the full impact without reading them all.

I hate that this series is over but I love that it is because it is perfect the way it stands. This 3rd part had me all messed up, my emotions were all over the place and thinking I had things all figured out so many times and being wrong as many times made this part a slight favorite of the 3. I felt while reading like I knew these characters, felt like I was standing right beside them during this entire journey. I will not soon forget them and I already miss them!

I love the way this author tells a story, you find yourself totally immersed and real life just doesn’t come into play, I could not put it down and lost a few hours sleep to finish it.

Do yourself a favor and one click all 3 of these books that give you 1 story that I know you’ll want to read again and again!

I have really enjoyed this series so far and so glad that I decided to give up a go when I saw the first book being recommend. Flicker to fire was a fantastic read and definitely my favourite out of the series (the others are great too)! I have taken Neve and Micah into my heart and I have loved reading about them. The author has really brought their story to life over this series. There was also a new character introduced into the story too which was great. A few unexpected twists and turns too made this story really difficult to put down at times I wanted to keep reading to find out just what was going to happen.
I definitely recommend that this series is read in order and I will definitely be making sure I read more from this author again in the future.

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash Book 3) by Amanda Marin. This is the edge of your seat ending to Amanda Marin’s Crimson Slash trilogy. Its a young adult series that will keep you turning pages way past your bedtime. Neve Hall & Micah Ward love each other even though their relationship is forbidden. They are working with Sans Murs a activist movement fighting for freedom of movement between the Nation and New Republic. On Isla Pryce they have begun a horrible task to purge the Nation of Sufferers who have been unfaithful to their vows just like Micha. Neve wants to do away with the Nations Suffering system once and for all. Neve & Micah are brave, strong and very courageous and they are fighting with everything they have. Will love be enough to keep them together and safe or will they lose the battle and lose each other in the process? This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Wonderful exciting story.

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash Book 3) by Amanda Marin – Review by Jenni Bishop

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash, #3)Flicker to Fire by Amanda Marin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flicker to Fire: Crimson Sash: Book 3 by Amanda Marin is a YA dystopian fantasy story. It is a bittersweet tale and sadly the end of the series. It is both heart breaking and heart-warming and is engaging. You really need to start at the beginning with the first book and work your way up to this one. The story is wonderful and full of many new characters as well as those from the first two books. Amanda has done a wonderful job with the two leading characters who are beautifully written. The journey they have been on has been fraught with heart ache and I have never seen two people more deserving and who all they want is love and freedom and are finally fighting back.

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash Book 3) by Amanda Marin – Review by Rachel Moss

Flicker to Fire (Crimson Sash, #3)Flicker to Fire by Amanda Marin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flicker to Fire by Amanda Marin is the 3rd book in the Crimson Sash series and was a great installment to read! I’m pretty sure this was the final book in the series, and if it was it was a great conclusion to a great series! You will definitely want to start with the first book though, or some of the events and past remembrances won’t make sense. It took me a while to remember what happened in the second book. The characters were great, the storyline was amazing, and this is the kind of book that makes you wary of what the future might hold if somet things don’t change. I definitely recommend this series! It was a great read.
