This story has come full circle from Wilf in the first book not wanting to be part of the magical to being immersed in his magical abilities to help save the girl he loves and the Magical Realm. This journey has strengthened his abilities and him as a whole. Now with the Magical Realm hanging in the balance of things, Wilf has to decision if expanding his abilities is the best risk to take. Besides picking this one to read because of the magical witch world, I was also interested in this YA read as my daughter is a big fan of fantasy stories and I know she will absolutely love this series! It is a great character building seeing a teen deeming to be who he wants to be and becoming who he is meant to be. Lyall has done such an amazing job with developing strong characters that are very relatable even with the magical aspect!

Absolutely loved this second book. Wilf starts making the realization that going back to his normal soccer loving days may be over. After finding cure for Beauty Virus and now dealing with the effects of the corruption of the veil that protects witches and wizards from the outside world. In the midst of all these other things, his stepsister, Myra, who needs to be found for her crimes and disappears. As all of these challenges come about, Wilf is then accused of harming the veil and as their union becomes stronger with Katryna, evil lurks them and she gets kidnapped. Now Wilf is on a mission to save the Magical Realm and the one he truly cares for. Cannot wait for the next one!

Wilf appears to be a typical teenage boy living in Hong Kong whose fixation is devoted to playing soccer and making it big. He puts all his energy and focus on his sport rather than his realization of his magical family and his destiny of being a wizard. As he avoids this part of him, he doesn’t have full control of his magic, which his father is insistent on for him to start his training. Unfortunately reality comes to light with the sudden and unexpected loss of his father. Now with others coming to him for help, he may need to consider his future. The other unfortunate occurrence is that of a virus that is ridding witches of their abilities and replacing it with beauty. Now as he becomes close to one of the witches, Katryna, the virus affects her. Wilf does discover his father’s journal may hold the secret of undoing his horrible virus. Absolutely getting to know these characters and with the cliffhanger, I cannot wait to continue reading to see what happens next!

I have been waiting for this book for quite some time, and I was so excited to pick it up that I devoured the entire thing in one sitting. Sorry not sorry to my real-life responsibilities! This entire series was just absolute perfection. I’m guilty of picking up series out of order, but you will definitely want to read the first two prior to picking this one up. If you don’t then you will be a little lost, and you won’t get the full experience either. We continue our magical and suspenseful journey with Wilf and Katryna with a great deal of twists and turns that caused me to read faster than I thought humanly possible. Wilf is trying to get to the bottom of harnessing the full potential of his magic but finds it’s not so easy with wizards and witches wreaking havoc in the Magical Realm. I thoroughly enjoyed the last installment of The Virus of Beauty series. The flow of the story was utterly wonderful, and I loved connecting with both Wilf and Katryna. It’s very apparent that C.B. Lyall dedicated so much time creating this beautiful world and relatable characters. I highly recommend picking up this entire series and getting lost in their reality!

Vassal of Magic is Book Three in The Virus of Beauty Series. The book picks up where the first two left off so I highly recommend reading them first or you may feel a bit lost. The story continues with Wilf as he struggles with his magical powers. As much as he wants to be a normal teenager, he must make the decision to tap farther into his magical abilities or allow an ancient magical realm to perish if he stands back and does not intervene. The problem is that he is unsure how to fully harness his magical powers and that makes things a bit trickier. The stakes are higher for Wilf this time and time is running out for Wilf to make a choice as he struggles to protect his girlfriend Katryna and his loved ones.
I have read and enjoyed this entire series and the author never fails to provide an entertaining story with magnificent writing. The scenes are vividly described and pull you into each scene with the characters. I loved the way the author wrote and described the magical realm and felt transported there with the characters. The characters are beautifully written, unique, quirky, and lovable. You cannot help but root for Wilf as he struggles with the dilemma of being normal or of fully harnessing his magic. Wilf struggled to believe in himself and his capabilities as he tried to decide whether harnessing the powers within him would make matters better or worse. He bore the weight of the world on his shoulders and was burdened with a major dilemma to save a magical realm and his loved ones. In this installment we see Wilf grow and become stronger as he and his friends work together. This book was full of action, suspense, danger, mystery, magic, wizards, witches, family, friendships, and love. I highly recommend this riveting and entertaining series.

Wilf Gilvary is back and this time a lot is at stake, after the recent events in Hong Kong, he is worried about those he cares about, but he is also trying to get a handle on his powers and the changes they have wrought in him. As he struggles to come to terms with all he has learnt recently, his is also trying to practice his control and he is only sometimes successful, especially when Katrina keeps occupying his mind, so when he is asked to return to the Magical Realm, he really doesn’t want to, he only wants to go back to his life before magic.
In the end, Will agrees to go back to the Magical Realm, but when he gets there, it is nothing like before, so the group he is in practice caution as they move around, but they almost immediately run into trouble and have to navigate the first set of dangers, albeit with a little help. Eventually, they manage to figure out what is happening and where they need to be, but the path, as usual, is never straight forward and barriers are thrown their way, but they are determined to succeed in their plans.
At this point, they discover something incredible which may hold the answers they are seeking, but it turns out that it is just one piece of the puzzle and only once they have all the pieces can Will hope to hone his powers into something useful, but in order to do this, he has to dive into the storm of ancient magic and uncover secrets which have been buried and maybe for good reason, but this journey is going to test him to his limits.
One good thing has come out of this trip however and that is that he is now able to sense where Katrina is, but is it real, or just a remnant from the broken love spell. Unfortunately, Will and his group are both following Katrina’s path and simultaneously being followed themselves and they find themselves in the middle of the warring factions of the witches and wizards again, meanwhile, Katrina is back in dangerous company and is again being held against her will, but the question is where is she and how will she find her way back to somewhere she knows and Will?
With the biggest decisions of his life to be made, can Will choose to leave his dreams behind in order to save the Magical Realm and all of those living within it, or will he choose a normal life in Hong Kong and sacrifice everything else? This is another magical journey against the clock, as Magic changes and evolves, while safety is constantly out of reach and danger lies around every corner in the epic journey across the realms.
This is the 3rd book in The Virus of Beauty series. I really recommend reading these books in order so you get a complete idea of the story and the amazing world the author creates. This is a fantasy adventure and it has been one rollercoaster of a ride. There has been action, danger, magic and everything in-between. My heart goes out to Wilf. All he has wanted is to be a normal teenager but magic has other plans for him and because he is struggling to embrace the magic he’s stuck and can’t seem to move forward. This feeling has him questioning everything and wondering if he has what it takes to take the responsibility the magic requires. Wilf find himself questioning everything including his feelings towards Katryna. In this story Wilf needs to embrace his power if he is going to defeat the evil that is threatening everything he knows and loves. It is a story of magical danger and finally being able to embrace the person you are. Does embracing his magic mean that Wilf will be saying goodbye to his normal teenage life forever? What would be the consequences if he decides to turn his back on the magic? I was captivated with this whole series. It is a really unique story that takes the reader and a rollercoaster of emotions as we follows Wilf journey and adventure to save the magical Realms while still trying to remain a normal teenager.

Diving into the third book in the Realm Chronicles series was more than I could have hoped for! I had high expectations since the first two books were amazing, and somehow Tricia Copeland STILL blew me away. My picky, detailed brain loved the list of the Royal Families of Middle Earth before the first chapter. Queen Titania is no meek female protagonist. She is strong-willed and can back up any claim she makes. She is trying to save her kingdom, fend off other royals, and find a suitable husband. If that isn’t a marvel all in itself, I don’t know what is. The author continued the perfect flow of the story and their intricate world-building rivals the previous books. I highly recommend picking this book (and series) up, especially if you enjoy the YA and urban fantasy genres!

This last in the series proves to be such a powerful end as well as showcase Titana as the Queen of Aruben. With seeking the rightful one to rule together and the right tools to lead her people, these are the main focuses the Queen faces . I picked this book up immediately after finishing the first in the series, and it’s amazing that the books connect so flawlessly. I feel like I picked up right where I left off. Titania is an amazing character with this incredible amount of grit and perseverance that I just love. She makes such a magnificent heroine and is sure to rub some of her character off on you. I usually don’t find that I enjoy the second book in a series MORE than the first, but this one definitely did it for me. I dare you to start this book and find a way to close it. I highly recommend picking this up (as well as the rest of the series) because you will find yourself engrossed from page 1!

I dove headfirst into this series mainly because of the gorgeous cover. I definitely became even more excited after realizing who the author was as I have enjoyed all of the books I’ve read by her. I always appreciate maps in the beginning of books as well. It lets me envision the story a little bit better. Tricia Copeland does a wonderful job with scenery and world-building with this beautiful fae story. I felt it took me just a bit to fall into the groove of the story in the beginning, but once I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down! There is raw emotion, magic, and adventure woven throughout. Fans of fantasy mixed with action rejoice because this one is for you!

Another entertaining and action seeking read in the second installment in this series. This one starts as Titania starts to find her place as Queen and leader of Aubren. She seeks knowledge in order to make sure she is leading her people in the right manner and using her abilities to help. Unfortunately this all leads to being accused of treason and those who were once strong allies start to distance themselves from her when they are needed the most. As this story continues and is introduced to great characters, I cannot wait to read the last installment in this series!

Titania is such a strong female lead. Already from the beginning, she is determined to defend her land and people at whatever cost. At the traumatic loss of her brothers, she tries to prove to her father that she is more than capable and ready. After a sudden attack, it is time to take her place as Queen. Although she was very determined at first to lead and defend her people, this 15 year old struggles with leadership and is distracted by what most teenage girls deal with…boys! Copeland introduces other magical elements as well as the distinction of Middle Earth. This was such a great read and I’m looking forward to the next two.

Queen Titania returns in this third instalment of this series and as the sole monarch of her realm, she has had a lot on her plate for the last ten months, but it seems that the challenges she always seems to be facing are not stopping any time soon. Her first hurdle she has to cross is making appearances at important events across the kingdom, however, there is an extra stress added when she is unaware of some traditions and has to balance time with her family and time with the other heads of the surrounding kingdoms, not to mention that her father has been approached by some of them with offers of courtship and marriage, much to her horror!
Meanwhile, she returns to her day to day life running her kingdom, however, nothing quite goes to plan and she has a request for her presence by the those she has helped in the past and yet again, they are asking for her assistance. The suitors whom approached her father come to her abode during the festivities and begin the negotiations, one of which she flats out refuses, however, she does agree to the rest and now has to arrange visits between the kingdoms on top of her preparations for the seasons as they pass through, she does have help from her father to prepare some history and information about each suitor so that she can have some knowledge of their kingdoms, as well as the suitors themselves.
As the tasks pile on to Titania’s shoulders, her research into solutions for the many issues she is facing has led her to an ancient prophecy about one who will defeat all of the evil in the land and as she is reading into it more, she begins to realise that she is possibly the fae it is describing, there is one problem with it though, her magical abilities are still not manifesting and it is another thing to add to her list of worries. As the suitors dogging her every step, requests from all around her for assistance and generally running her kingdom, Titania is both physically and emotionally battling through her responsibilities, but as the danger grows, she is determined not to let it all bury her, but will she be able to remain stoic as she struggles to maintain control of her life and her kingdom? This is a story which is full of twists and turns, as well as showcasing the pressures of coming of age, while shouldering the responsibilities of someone much older and thus proving her worth to those around her, in this complex and engaging story.

To be a Fae Legend is Book Three in the Realm Chronicles series. Tatiana is now seventeen and looking forward to some rest and relaxation after the harrowing ordeals that she endured in book two. When her mother told her the prophecy that bad things happen in threes she could not have been more right. More evil is lurking out there and it is up to Tatiana to fight to save her family, her people, and her kingdom. Tatiana must also make a choice between her suitors, even if that choice puts the needs of the kingdom before what her heart wants.
This series has been so splendidly written that it has captured my attention since the first book. If you have not done so, I highly recommend reading them in order as each book continues and builds up on the story from the previous one. The author’s writing style is so vivid and accurate that it immerses the reader fully into the setting and story along with the characters. Tatiana has grown and matured as both a person and as Queen of her kingdom. She is forward-thinking, smart, strong willed, determined, motivated, brave, and feisty. It is admirable how Tatiana faces evil forces head-on and does what she can to protect her kingdom and those she loves, which often means putting their needs before her own. A fantastic read with suspense, danger, magic, action, danger, and the battle of good versus evil.

To be a Fae Guardian is Book Two in the Realm Chronicles series. This book starts off where the first book left off and builds on the story. There is immediately some suspense and intrigue as Titania’s adventures continue. As she has taken on her duties in her role as Queen, Titania has grown, matured, and adapts to each situation and obstacle that comes her way. Although she struggles to believe in herself and her abilities, she does the best that she can for her kingdom. In her most recent adventure, Titania must fight to save her kingdom from evil forces that threaten to destroy Middle Earth.
Yet another great book by this talented author whose writing style draws you completely into the story. The attention to detail and vivid descriptions make the reader feel as though they are there in the story as it unfolds. The characters are fantastic, and it was nice to see Tatiana’s growth as a character as she tried to settle into her role and duties as Queen. Tatiana may be young, but she has some strong opinions on how to run and protect the kingdom that not everyone agrees with. In saving her kingdom from the Kobold she broke the rules of the High Council and is accused of treason. Being Queen does not save her from having to be punished but it does not deter her from trying to save the Fae from the evil forces that threaten to destroy her realm. Queen Tatiana must rise to the challenge with grace, courage, strength, and determination. I highly recommend this great read.

To be a Fae Queen is Book One in the Realm Chronicles series. We are introduced to fifteen-year-old Titania, a faerie princess who is preparing to be Queen. Although she has been training for years, she is feeling unprepared for the role at such a young age and is undecided if she is ready for the role of Queen. Her family is broken and still grieving from the loss of her four brothers which has left her mom in a catatonic state. Her brothers lost their lives in battle with the Kobold which left Titania as the last of her line. Titania must be brave and prepare for her role as Queen even if she does not feel ready. As she does so she must decide who she can trust as she is met with resistance from forces both inside and outside of the castle walls.
This was the first book that I have read by this author, but it will not be the last. I loved the author’s writing style and was completely immersed in the story through the author’s vivid descriptions. The characters were captivating, and easily relatable. My heart went out to Titania’s mom as she grieved for the loss of her sons. It was truly heartbreaking to think about the immense grief and sadness over such a tragedy. I especially liked the character of fifteen-year-old Titania, who did not let her young age stop her from preparing for her role as Queen. Through her sadness, grief, loss, and fear she musters up the strength and courage to do what is best for her kingdom even though it means putting it before her own needs. We see her grow as a character, gaining years of wisdom in a short time. Through the obstacles she overcomes we can see that Titania is strong, smart, determined, and feisty. This book has action, suspense, mystery, magic, faeries, and drama in the age-old battle of good versus evil. Now onto book two.

This is another amazing tale from one of my favorite authors. These books are absolutely priceless and make the journey from beginning to end so worth the time it takes to read. I would definitely recommend that you read these in order as you will miss several important details if you don’t. Queen Tatiana is under enormous stress and now believes she is the prophesied one who can end all suffering and save her kingdom. She is in a race against the clock to learn how to use the power she recently discovered, find a husband and save everyone! You can’t miss with this series it is amazing! The details and the storyline are rock solid and produce vivid pictures that enhance your enjoyment.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Cecily in the City. The author wrote a book that pulls at the heartstrings. About a girl’s rise to fame while losing everything she holds dear in her personal life. The growth of her character as a seventeen year old was written beautifully. Cecily wanted to be an actress and would do everything to reach that goal. She started modeling, because she was told that was her step in the door. But she feared that her association with her popstar boyfriend Andrew would be what everyone thought of her. That she didn’t do any of the hardwork on her own. A snow storm in NYC was really what hot her foot in the door to her dreams. But it also lost her Andrew. So what happens next? How does Cecily navigate her new career without her rock, Andrew? I would classify this book as YA, but as an adult I still enjoyed it. So don’t let YA scare you. Take a chance you might be surprised. I haven’t read the first two books, so I might just have to now. However it still works well as a standalone novel.

I have really enjoyed this series. I have read all 3 books. The Vassel of Magic was not my favorite out of them all. The world building and characters was well thought out. The book just didn’t grab my attention as much as the first 2. I still do recommend the series!

This book is definitely unique and intriguing. The author brings us into a magical world full of action, danger, great characters, hard choices and so much more. This is a story rich in detail that will keep you turning pages. This is the third book in this series and it is my suggestion that you start with book one for a better reading experience and because you don’t want to miss out on great reading. This story is enjoyable and I recommend it for all fantasy lovers. The author knows how to draw you in and take you on an adventure. I was excited to read the conclusion of this series but sad it had to end. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This whole series is just amazing. I really enjoyed everything about this book too. I would suggest starting from the beginning because each book has its own battles and action that the main character Titania has to figure out how to save her family and her people. Titania is an amazing strong-willed character that she has become, we watch as she grows and matures more into the queen that her people need. The way the worlds are written you really y feel like you are right there in the story seeing, feeling and smell everything around you and feels incredible magical. The way the characters are written in these stories you really feel like you are part of the family in the story. This book is filled with magic, danger, fantasy, witches, good and evil, a prophecy, challenges and a race against time. This book is very fast paced and will have you reading till the end to know what is going to happen. This book had me hooked right from the first page.

This book is the continuation of great series and I was excited to pick up this latest instalment. I wanted to see how things would turn out for the characters and become involved in their adventures again. This book was just as exciting as the others and I reconnected with the characters without issue. I was pulled along on their journey. As the final book in the trilogy it was a great way to end it all. Although I can definitely say I hope the author will produce more within this series as it really was so good.

The Vassal of Magic (The Virus of Beauty Book 3) by C.B. Lyall. This has been such a wonderful series. This book was a great addition. Its the continuing story of Wilf who is trying to learn how to use his magic and control it. Wilf is conflicted because he doesn’t want to give up his life as a regular teenager but he also doesn’t want to miss out on using his powers. If he refuses to use his magic the world in which he exists will end and he has to do everything he can save his love Katryna. Will Wilf learn how to trust his friends and family and use the information and knowledge they give him to control his magic and save their world or will everything end. This final book is such a great ending to this series. I highly recommend reading the first 2 books to get a better overall view of the story. Such a good young adult paranormal series.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was like a modern day 90210/Gossip Girl. Cecily was a wonderful character, and there was a lot of growth for her in this book. She is excited for her new opportunity, and she is loving her life with her boyfriend and her volunteer work. As things take a turn, she starts to question a lot of things and a lot of choices. Fame and everything behind the scenes is nothing as she expected. This was a book I would definitely read again, and give to my teenage daughter to read.

4/5 stars This was my first read in the series and by this author. This read is definitely geared towards older middle school aged/high school aged readers. It’s written well, and tackles normal issues for that age group. I didn’t feel lost even though I didn’t read the first two books. This book can definitely be a standalone but reading the first two would probably give more background on the characters.

Titania gets rid of the locusts and is exhausted mind body and soul, and people still continue to question her as a Queen. What she really craves is down time to spend with her mother and cousins but her mother prophesies 3 are coming… and do they ever. If that isn’t enough she doesn’t have a child so she must marry to have a husband to rule if she dies. Multiple suitors vye for her attention and she must choose one amongst the chaos and saving a realm that isn’t always that grateful about being saved. Can Titania find some happiness? I reccomend these books be read in order so you can understand some parts of her character and why she interacts with others in the ways she does. Well done!
