I am so excited that the next book has come out. I have been waiting impatiently for the next book to come out. Seeing Tatiana’s growth throughout the entire series has made my heart leap for joy. Just when I thought we were finally going to be done with Sonia, she still manages to come back and terrorize the land. Freedom with her “death” is bittersweet. She can now do anything she wants, but she can’t do so in the light. She has to do it within the shadows. The restraint she shows just further proves how far Tatiana has come from the very first book. But one can give up so much before push comes to shove and they snap. Now to do another long wait for the next book!

This is one of my favorite series, so I was beyond excited when I learned that the latest installment had finally been released, my excitement was through the roof! I picked it up immediately and could barely wait to dive in once I got home. This fourth book in the Realm Chronicles does not disappoint and continues to build upon the incredible foundation laid in the earlier volumes.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to read the previous books before diving into this one. Jumping in at this point would not only leave you feeling terribly lost but would also rob you of the rich world-building and character development that makes this series truly special. The author has crafted a universe so immersive that you’ll want to savor every detail.
Titania is a remarkable character who feels more like a friend than just a figment of fiction. She finally gets to forge her own path without any constraints. Yet this newfound freedom comes with a catch – she must remain in the shadows. The tension rises as she grapples with the dilemma of being needed to save her people while trying to stay unnoticed. If you are looking for a captivating paranormal YA to get absolutely lost in, please pick up this series. The author has somehow made each book better than the last, which is no small feat. As I closed the final pages of this installment, I was left eagerly anticipating the fifth book set to be released in 2025. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this journey!

“The Viper’s Bloodline Awakened” is a fast-moving tale that intricately weaves together mythology, astrology, dark magic, monsters, war, and gods. The high-stakes journey continues in the fifth book of the series, so I recommend reading them in order as the story continues in “The Gods’ Scion” series. Winnifred’s work is vividly expressive and unique, creating a world that merges modern and futuristic themes. This is an interesting fantasy sci-fi story where magical realism and urban fiction meet. It is creative and full of lies, secrets, heartache, hatred, fear, action, drama, broken dreams, promises, betrayal, greed, revenge, family, and relationships, all woven together to give us an intriguing read. I enjoyed the complex characters and their tough journey, where loyalties are tested and not knowing who to trust makes their jobs that much harder. They also have to question what is right and wrong as Winnifred sends them through their paces. One thing is sure – they will fight to protect with their dying breath. I think this is the best book in the series so far.
I was impressed with Tricia’s latest book, To be a Fae Legend. It was good, but each subsequent book seems to be even better. I’m expecting the series’ final book to be epic. To be a Fae Rogue is the fourth book in the paranormal Realm Chronicles series. It’s important to read the books in order, or else you’ll miss out on so much. Even though it’s a YA series, I’m thoroughly enjoying it at the age of 62. The Realm Chronicles is set in a magical world where faeries, monsters, and evil characters lurk in the shadows. It’s a place of darkness where you wouldn’t want to find yourself. It’s a magical tale filled with fae lore, legends, action, danger, lies, deceit, loss, pain, faeries, magic, drama, mystery, and much more. Titania knows loss. She had it all and selflessly gave it up, except for one thing, and she’s willing to fight for that too. But is it worth it? Can they be avenged? Will the dark angel succeed, or is everything lost? Let Tricia’s narrative transport you to the most magical of places and beneath the ruins of the world. I can’t wait for the next book.

Cori Cooper did it again! She brought us a wonderful YA Romance filled with likeable, relatable characters that just jumped off the page at you. You really feel like you are there while reading it. I really enjoyed reading about Holland and her journey as she moves to a new town and slowly adjusts to all the new things around her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don’t remember high school being so complicated but it’s probably because I blocked most of high school out 😂. I really liked the Runway Career event. I think schools should definitely offer something similar.
I love Holland. I think her parents did an amazing job with her. She was a great character. I think the author did an amazing job capturing high school and all of the different groups and personalities. Definitely a 5/5 ⭐️. The artwork on the cover is cute and as a reader I loved all the references to books.

A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper is a YA story with plenty of teen angst & drama, friendship, family, crushes/clean romance/love triangle-ish, fun, humour, quirky characters, banter, and sweet details. As I have mentioned many times before, Ms. Cooper is a talented storyteller who has the ability to create wonderfully quirky, relatable characters and interesting plots that usually have some ‘hidden’ layers/messages to them, which never fail to draw me into her ‘worlds’. As expected, this is a sweet story that mixes teen issues with some fun and a little emotion. Another enjoyable read from her. Looking forward to more from Ms. Cooper! Happy Reading…

I had previously read one book by this author and loved it so much that I eagerly picked up another. The cover is absolutely charming, and the story is just as delightful. The author held my attention from the very first page to the very last. This clean YA romance features wonderfully developed characters, with Holland standing out as an inspiring female teenage lead. The secondary characters are equally impressive. I also found myself giggling loudly in more than a few places, which is such a pleasant surprise! The narrative flows beautifully, unfolding at a natural pace. If you are searching for a clean YA romance then don’t miss this one. I can’t wait to read more books by this author as their writing style is addictive!

3.5 stars A Tale of Two Crushes is a fun clean YA tale with quirky and engaging characters. Holland and her friends are adorable, and the story is filled with the usual emotions, angst, humour, and eye-rolling moments. The story is told from the perspective of a teenage girl who moves to a new town and school, navigating new friendships and catching the eye of two boys. There’s plenty of wit and banter as Holland finds herself enamoured with the two boys, even when they’re acting like two-year-olds. The story also delves into her relationships with her family as she grows into herself. If you’re looking for something light and easy to read, this book is perfect for you.

This is an author that I enjoy reading. I enjoy their writing style as well as their creative writing style that make their characters full of heart and connectable. This book is no different. It is a well written story about what happens when you have two crushes at the same time. Holland has never met a guy she really likes until now but only there are two of them. I enjoy Holland and what she brings to the story. She is my favorite of the story for sure. I enjoyed watching the characters grow throughout the story. This is an easy and engaging story to read. It is hard to put down and one you don’t want to miss. There is great chemistry with the characters and you will want to know what happens with Holland. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I enjoyed this book. It’s a clean YA book. Holland moves to Arizona from Colorado and gets to readjust to a new place. I’m pretty sure we can all relate. I chuckled quite a bit through this because she’s a pretty smart young lady. She knows what she wants and has her goals. I always love the books written by this author because they are written in a style that is very easy to relate to for the target age group. The characters are excellent. It took me back to a time far away and long ago. I’d recommend this. I would give it more than 5 stars if the system allowed me to.

Holland Morriss has never really met a guy she could crush on. It makes sense, she lived her whole life in the same town with the same people. It’s just really hard to have a crush on someone you’ve seen eat crayons in kindergarten.
Then at the start of her junior year of high school, her family makes a sudden move to a whole different state. Holland’s new life plan is to keep her head down and graduate early so she can hightail it back to Colorado and start college with her best friend Alicia.
That is, until she meets not one, but two perfect guys. The kind of guys she’s read about in novels. The type she’s dreamed about forever. If Holland thought life was complicated before she had two crushes, she was super wrong. Really, she had no idea.
Cori Cooper lives in the magical Arizona Mountains, which she’s pretty convinced is the setting for all the fairy tales.
Besides writing stories, she adores hanging out with her family, playing board games, hiking and baking, baking, baking. Like Cat’s family, she’s positive Cinnamon Rolls fix everything.

Reading this book is not what I expected. It turned out to be very well written and does provide different points of view from all the main characters. I do love how there is humor intertwined with the serious stuff going on to keep it a little light hearted at times. Overall, it’s a very good read especially when you need to get away from reality for a while.

Hillary Rettig’s Productivity is Power offers detailed tips for students to overcome problems that affect their productivity, such as procrastination, perfectionism, isolation, and self-sabotaging. Tips include time-management and self-care. I recommend this book because I found it helpful and useful even though I have recently graduated, and I also found it inspiring. It was interesting how Hillary talked about vocations, systemic oppression, and work-life balance as well. ‘Time happens to be far more valuable than money.’

The most important time to put your Inner Compassionate Adult in charge is when you’ve “failed,” experienced a rejection, or had some other kind of setback. It’s a natural temptation, during such times, to get self-critical, but nonperfectionists have better ways of coping. They know that: Everyone fails. It’s an ordinary part of life. In fact, successful people probably fail more than most because they take more risks. To be precise: they’re successful both because they take the risks and because they react productively—meaning, in the ways described in this chapter—to the inevitable occasional failure.
“Success is often as dangerous as failure.” Perfectionists often gloss over their successes—or, worse, reframe them as failures (Chapter 13). But nonperfectionists are careful to acknowledge and celebrate their successes. Doing so not only helps neutralize perfectionism, it fixes your successes in your memory so you can call on them when needed for motivation. (“Okay, I’m feeling stuck—but I remember that, a few weeks ago, when I felt equally stuck, I persevered and everything turned out fine. So I guess I’ll persevere now.”) Take a moment to acknowledge your successes—and not just the outcome itself, but the broader success (e.g., what you learned or what barriers you overcame) and any personal qualities (courage, kindness, perseverance, etc.) you demonstrated. And if you want to celebrate—say, by treating yourself to a dinner out, a new outfit or piece of gear, or some other splurge—go for it. It’s okay to be generous with yourself. Be Sure to Acknowledge and Celebrate Your “Small” and Partial Successes
Poets, philosophers, and others have been pondering the mystery of inspiration for thousands of years, but all “being inspired” means is that you’re ready and motivated to do the work. And all “being uninspired” means is that you’re not—yet. So what does it take to be ready? A few things, including an understanding of the process you need to follow, confidence, a detailed knowledge of how to do the next couple of steps, and abundant preparation. Let’s discuss each individually.

Dark is the Wood by Kristin Ward is the first book in The new series Enchanted Tales with Dragon Scales. This young adult fantasy romance follows Gillian as she enters the forbidden Shadowlands in an attempt to save her brothers life. Gillian soon meets Roman who is the son of the Great Dragon and her quest becomes more than she could imagine. Caught between dangers and learning more about herself, Gillian tries to be strong in the face of great odds. This book combines lore from various fantasy sources while adding some of its own. I’d think it best enjoyed in front of a crackling fire.

Falling for a Star in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in the Stars in the City Series. This one follows struggling actress Paige who had had a miserable week – breakup with her boyfriend, acting job on hold, and an internship in a career she isn’t happy in. Down in the dumps, Paige runs into Viktor a hot hockey player with an intense gaze. As she navigates this challenging week and emotions start to form, Paige worries that the differences between her and Viktor are insurmountable. This book is a lovely romance that highlights the 360s life throws at us. The series could probably be read as stand‐alones but characters make reappearances so I’d suggest reading in order. Enjoy!

It’s easy to become caught up in this YA tale as Runals paints a vividly rich narrative of a life at military school called Lapidius and those of the students. His passion shines through his words. At times I felt the story had a few repetitions and was sometimes a bit wordy, but I enjoyed this tale non the less. This intriguing tale has a bit of everything from a dystopian world with fantasy, sci fi to a touch of horror with a fast-moving plot. Lapidius takes readers on an epic journey through a magical world filled with unique cultures, creatures and characters. A world where survival is the name of the game where battles, greed, danger, monsters and adventure become one in the fight. I watched with keen interest as the children of the future learned, developed and & grew in strength, bravery and came together with conviction, a far cry from their humble beginnings. Compelling characters Kyle, Joey, Brian, and Lucas learn to fight for what is theirs and the bond that surrounds them. I enjoyed this Young Adult book. I’m 62 and a woman and it kept me entertained and reading to the end. It’s a great tale for those who enjoy battles and adventure.

A pig and a poke is a very fun book written by Tricia Gardella and beautifully illustrated by Bar Fabian. A tale of perseverance and persistence. A snapshot of country life of children – a pig wrangling competition. Angela stepped back at first but was waiting for the courage to jump in and get her pig.

This is a well written and exciting story that had me hooked almost immediately. My interest was piqued even reading the description of this book. I picked it up based on the cover, and the description was not at all what I was expecting. Which I always find exciting! The author did a great job of pulling you straight into the story. I connected with the characters instantly was found myself being swept along on their adventure. The premise of the book was really interesting. The nature of Lapidius was great and the combination of the characters all seemed to fit well. This was a surprising book but a really enjoyable one!

This was a super cute book. A girl starts attending a new school and immediately forms a crush on a boy. This book was funny and an easy read as well. I couldn’t put it down.

“Story lovers and justice seekers, I present a tale of Lapidius, a school nestled in the valleys and forests of the land of Novum Albion. Once filled with mystery, adventure, and knowledge, Novum Albion was now a sad place of former greatness and forgotten dreams that no longer held the position of power it once had in the world. As its people settled for what they were told they could accomplish, hope and dreams became vacant in Novum Albion. At one time, the country had been the world’s melting pot, where cultures, intellect, ideas, and even freedom defined the young nation. Yet, many no longer had the hope that once defined Novum Albion. Sadly, inspiration and confidence drained from the land. Hope became nothing more than feeble happiness, and happiness turned to selfish desires. Selfish desires turned into greed, and greed turned into numbness to life. Many citizens of Novum Albion were trapped in their own minds, yet they were still filled with pride, though they accomplished nothing. Worth of life was held relative, and the meaning of words like honor, morals, and ethics were seldom taught. Even truth was held passively. As the young of the land grew ignorant of their identity and past, the very fiber of the home started to unwind, and uncertainty and ignorance in every aspect of life began to grow. Lapidius was still a mysterious place, considering it was a military school for children. It was not a school built to train children for war but designed to teach military discipline. Children of all ages would leave their siblings and parents behind and find mysteries upon mysteries at Lapidius, which they would eventually call home. Yes, though it would be hard for some to think a school could be home for its students, it was just that for many. And the most challenging and formative experience Lapidius had to offer was The Game. The Game was what made Lapidius unique…”
Lapidius is the first book in A Nation Found series by Matt Runals. This is a fabulous YA dystopian adventure story with a coming of age/journey of discovery element, mystery, action, politics, agendas, challenges, high stakes, family/friendship, finding purpose, magic, monsters, courage/bravery, survival, war/battles, intrigue, fantasy, emotion, humour, morality/honour, betrayal, and hope. I set off on the adventure and found myself engrossed right from the get-go- joining Joey, Kyle, Brian, and Lucas through all the highs and lows of Lapidius- a military school which will bring challenges and experiences that none of them could have predicted. The characters were really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were easy to like and invest in. I loved watching them develop and grow over the course of the story. The story is quite detailed and descriptive, which made it easy to ‘visualise’ the scenes, the world, and all the developments as they unfolded. This gave me all the Divergent/Hunger Games/ The Maze Runner/ Harry Potter-esque vibes- but with its own unique identity. The story finishes leaving room for more to come – so I look forward to seeing where we go from here. Happy Reading…

I was quite interested in checking this story out, it had so many intriguing elements, the war, the military school for children, and magic and monsters. The author did a great job of creating well written characters that we get to see grow and mature throughout the story. The vivid and creative descriptions make you feel like you are right there with Joey and his friends Kyle, Brian, and Lucas as they begin their training and learn more about their new home. I greatly enjoyed the military strategies as as well the political pieces in the story, the author created a world that feels very realistic, while also full of magic and monsters. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

I LOVED this story. Getting to discover a new author to me and reading a fantastic story along the way makes me so happy. This is a young adult, dystopian story with adventure, hope, friendships, and magic. Having a bond of friendship between the four of Joey, Kyle, Brian and Lucas and fighting for what is right…this is a fantastic story and I highly encourage anyone to give this book a chance.
When families have to make a decision believing it is for the better because of it is hard to feed everyone in the family, Joey, Kyle, Brian and Lucas are sent to Lapidius. Learning there is more to venture….the mystery is only beginning….
This book gave me a roller coaster of emotions….which I love about a great story. The author did a fantastic job on details that really brought this story to life.

Is this story an allegory? A nation that has seen various wars over several decades. Starving families that are desperate to save their children. A military school stands in the gap, offering hope. Students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds learn to find their inner strength. Well, not learn to find, so much as they are taught to find this resilience
