Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington – Review by Shannon Fowler

Michael's HeartMichael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this story. Michael’s Heart shows what kind of heart the author, Harrington, has.

“…no matter how full of love a person’s heart was, there was always room for more.” This is how I feel after reading this story. A much fuller heart!

The characters are fairly well developed. We are given just enough of their feelings, their pasts, their concerns and opinions to see how important Colbie and Michael’s messages really are.

“It’s the ordinary that makes life worth living.”

Many people feel they need someone else to make them whole, to inspire them. When really each person, man and woman, has that strength deep inside themselves. Harrington could see that in Colbie too.

“It was scary at first until she realized she actually could do it alone with no assistance.”

Being able to read and “see” a character’s actual growth through-out the story means the author has done a fantastic job! Way to go Harrington!

The entire story touches on many different real issues, teen pregnancy, abortion, adoption, fertility issues, even spiritual beliefs and death. Definitely worth the read! A little advice though, do not read this book in public…only read it next to a box of tissues!
