This was such a sweet love story. Wyatt and Rhia work really well together. They bring out the best in each other. I loved the relationship between the Thorne brothers. They have never ending support for each other, but will good naturedly tease each other. Lee Kilraine did a great job at developing these characters and pulling you into their story. This is the second story in this series. I did not read the first story, but I will have to fix that very soon and I cannot wait to see what happens next for these brothers.

The story Hard as Steel: Book four (“Surviving Series”) by Virginia Wine is a romantic suspense book. This is a story that hooks you in from the first chapter and doesn’t let go until you have read the final page. It is a story with enough suspense that you wonder what is going to happen next. It is a page-turner. I loved reading about the character of Steel Archer. He is a man that is strong, independent in his actions, and protects those that he cares for. This story has a dark and twisted tale to tell that will chill you and keep you guessing until the end. The story also does have some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. I loved how the author put such emotion behind what Steel does. I felt what he felt. The details are also such that you feel you are right there with the characters going through what they did. Who will be Steel’s match? Read this book to find out. There are other characters that are introduced in the story and I enjoyed reading about them and when they interact with Steel. There is a feeling of brotherhood that is special. This is a book that is wonderfully written and one that I would highly recommend reading.

I loved this sports-romance book about two people who have been hurt in the past and trying to heal. The characters in this book for me brought the story to life. They are relatable and made me feel part of the story and feel that I was right there with them. The journey they took me on was an emotional one, I laughed and felt compassion for what they both went through. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens life throws you a curveball. Will it be a walk or homerun?

This book has a little bit of everything in it which makes it enjoyable from romance to suspense to mystery. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I loved the chemistry between him and Nicole. This story is a sitting on the edge of my seat type and I highly recommend it.

The story Degrees of Acceptance (A Prestian Series Book 2) by Via Mari is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. It is the second story in a series and I would highly suggest that book one be read before this one in order to understand some of the events and information that is given in this one. It is wonderful to continue to read about the story of Katarina Meilers and Chase Prestian. These two have a chemistry that can’t be denied. Their attraction and desire for each other only grow. There is a passion between them that is red hot and steamy scenes are a part of this story. Be prepared for the temperature in the room to rise. Katarina also finds out more about her father in this story. She is curious and decides to meet with him. She also has the worry and fear that comes along with the extra security that Chase has assigned to her because of threats that arise. Chase is the ultimate alpha male. He can be controlling and bossy. He also would do anything that is needed in order to keep Katarina safe, something that she is learning more about. This story has suspense and at times had me wondering what was going to happen next and how it all would work out. There are page-turning moments. This is a wonderfully written story that I would highly recommend reading.

This is the sixth book in this series and can be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading them all as they are just as enjoyable as this one. This is a story about a woman who is hiding from her past and gets a job as a manager at a hotel. Then you have a baseball pitcher who has plans for his future. What will happen when their lives collide? I enjoyed these characters. They are connectable and I found myself relating to them easily. I highly recommend this book, love and suspense!

Ring a True is the first book in the Thick as Thieves series by Janice M. Whittaker. This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely won’t be the last. This fast paced book is full of action, drama, suspense and romance thrown in. I was hooked on the very first page, an$ couldn’t put it down till the last. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good book featuring thieves. Tru is such a wonderful character, and at the beginning I was thinking Will was the bad guy in this story, however, as the story progresses and we learn more about Will the more I sympathize with him and understood why he did some of the things he did. This was a great story and I can’t wait to read more of this series and author.

The Boss is book 1 in the Fire’s Edge series and it is also my first book by this author but it will not be my last!! I devoured this book in no time at all because i couldn’t put it down! Holy hot dragon shifters batman! This book was great! I am a sucker for PNR and this one is no exception. The author did an amazing job with the story development and the world building. I felt like i was right there in the book. The characters are fantastic as well. This book had a little mystery, suspense and and a whole lot of steamy romance that made it an awesome read. I’m so glad that the author made a story for Soren. I disliked how his story ended with Angela. I didn’t like her character all that much anyway. Now Elena was someone I can see loving Soren. Elena and Angela have similar traits but were different in how they treated Soren and how he handled the relationships. With Angela Soren didn’t want to look beyond London. He never got to the point where he had to make a choice. Angela didn’t see past what see wanted. She never made a path that included Soren. They were prefer for each other but they didn’t want to change for each other. When Soren realized his mistake it was too late. When his slow burn relationship starts with Elena I was hopeful. Not because he would be getting over Angela but because it was unexpected for him. He never saw it coming. It was like discovering something amazing. I liked seeing the personal growth for Soren. He grew into a better person by taking away his own comforts. By learning to be his own man without his family. This isn’t the last book in the series but it was a great end. Reviewed by @gguerrero89

Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen is a collection of the books Alterations, Game Changer, and Primal Will. They must be read together, in order, to get the complete story. It is kinda sci-fi, Divergent style story, of mind altering technology. Just reading the synopsis drew me in, and I was dying to read it. However, I had a hard time following it at first. There were a lot of characters, that it bounced around between, and I had difficulty keeping their stories straight. It wasn’t until half way through the book I understood they weren’t all going to meet, but rather, had 1 character in common. The series follows 3 women after being implanted with a mind controlling chip from Dr Kite. The chip changes their lives, each in a unique way. The procedure seems like a fix all, but things do all go as planned. Read the whole collection to learn these ladies stories, and see if they get their happily ever after. I read each story on its own, but in order. I love that the collection is together, because they pick up right where the previous story left off. These books are really 3 parts to the same story and is one you don’t want to put down. The stories alternate between the views of the characters. Primal Will pulled all the stories together, letting us see how they all intertwine. The series didn’t end the way I hoped, or expected, but I enjoyed them. I was anticipating a huge twist at the end, and didn’t get that. The books are quite short, but move quickly and are filled with raw content, without much filler. I love that, because it is a good story, that can be enjoyed quickly. I often loose interest in long drawn out series. 4 star book for me.

Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure had me from the very beginning. There was something about Kennedy that I connected with. But she is so much braver than I am. If I were ever able to get the weight off and down to my perfect weight I don’t think I could do what she did.
There was a surprise for me while reading it but as soon as I discovered it a lot fell into place with me. I don’t know if it was intended by the author or not but just in case it was, you will just need to read the book for yourself.
There were a few things this book was about, but I feel it was about Kennedy growing comfortable with who she is now, forgetting who she use to be and allowing herself to fall in love.
I think if I had a problem with anything it was that I felt it was maybe a little rushed at the end but other that I wouldn’t change a thing.

Ring Tru (Thick as Thieves Book 1) By Janice M. Whiteaker. I’m a sucker for a second chance romance story with suspense thrown in and this time was no different. Immediately I was drawn into Tru and Will’s story, these two characters had this connection that jumped off the page and has you feeling every single emotion they do. I really enjoyed this story since it was a bit different from my normal reads in a very good way. It’s got some twists and turns that had me turning the pages as fast as possible but also wishing it wouldn’t end so fast. It’s well written and paced nicely. I’m excited to see where the next book takes readers. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to anyone. I’ll definitely be adding to to my read again list!

PAINTING KUWAIT VIOLET is one of those books that has many layers to it.
It’s a look at cultural “standards” in the not so distant past. Women are less than second class citizens and laws and traditions are slow to change; “… Kuwait was rebuilding and needed skilled and unskilled laborers. Most Kuwaitis were either not qualified or too rich to do the work.” People like Violet saw this as an opportunity to perhaps get ahead in life. Violet wasn’t afraid to lower her expectations for work.
It’s also a story with mystery and suspense. There is someone running amok and making the protagonist’s boss (Sabah) tip toe around what is going on.
This book is very detailed in its writing. At times I found myself skimming a bit because I wanted to know what happens next. There are many characters in the story and each is introduced in a way that I was able to keep most of them straight. There is good and there is evil and there are those doing evil for what they think is the greater good.
This story was very complex. At all times it made me grateful for the life I live today.
This is the first story I’ve read by this author and I will keep an eye out for her stories in the future.
The book is a suspenseful romance about second chances, mistakes, cons, and maybe even forgiveness. I appreciated the author’s writing style and point of view as it allowed me as the reader to step directly into the pages and experience the storyline development alongside the characters. There was a natural push and pull in the plot which I appreciated. I felt like the storyline was well paced and thoughtful in its details. Overall it was a very enjoyable book presenting several characters I would like to learn more about. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series.

Ring Tru (Thick as Thieves Book 1) by Janice M. Whiteaker was a fast pace, edgy read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author, I was super excited to dive into this book. I love books with thieves, a little cat and mouse, and of course drama. But you’d be surprised now weirdly untouch this plotline is. So when I see these books pop up, I get excited. Ring Thu was not a disappointment. It had a Heartbreakers/The Italian Job feel. (Two movies that I love!) It kept me on my toes, it was captivating, and thrilling.
At first this is just another job for out MC Tru, her last and one to set her and her bestie up for life. You’ll find out right away, from the first page, how this has that Heartbreaker feel. Tru’s mark isn’t exactly young.. you know what I’m saying. Trouble brews when her ex appears as her “hubbies” security detail. This get complicated, fast, and that’s where the fun begins. I love their interactions, they attraction. It isn’t forced, and you can feel how that no matter the hurt, the time, or the reason, they still are madly in love. It was always a joy watching Tru get all flustered and crazy when Will was around.
Besides that mess, they are there for the same reason, but different all the same. Making things again, complicated. You want to root for Tru, cause of what Will did, but then you get to know him, and hear why he did what he did. Pity sets in, and now, you don’t know who to root for, because damn, both of them deserves it. So yeah, this couple will have you switching sides, while making you want to slap them both.
Then there is the underline danger, the weird pieces of the puzzle, and the lingering feeling that maybe there won’t be a happy ending for them.
This story has it all, and like I said, it hooked me first from the first page and I could not put it down. Coming in a 225 pages, you could say, it is a fairly shorter read. But still chalked full of madness, mystery, and a hot couple that can’t decide what to do with each other. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you be captured by this outstanding, lush, dangerous read, that might just steal your heart…(haha..see what I did there?….I’m amazing I know..)

The Boss by Abigail Owen is a dragon shifter romance book. It is my first book like this and I found it to be really Interesting. I really enjoyed Delaneys strong and feisty personality. I loved how she actively pursued Finn even when he was fighting off his attractions and not wanting to just go with it. Overall I really liked the writing style and flow of the book. It was really easy to get lost in. All in all I would definitely read others by this author. 4 star rating.

Beckoned: Adrift in Costa Rica is part five of the “Beckoned” series by Aviva Vaughn. This story is a slow-burn, contemporary women’s fiction- full of vibrant and vivid descriptions of travel, adventure, food, loss, recovery, discovery, romance, spice, friendship, lessons, and growth. This book takes us on a journey with Soren, what happens to him after he is forced to face the fact that he and Angela don’t have a future, and that she is madly in love with someone else.
“So here he was, standing in the lurid bookstore-cum-nightclub, watching as the colored lights painted the face of the woman who had flown into his life like a burning comet, and then exited it just as dramatically, leaving his life cold and hollow. And she was in the arms of another man. And it was all his fault. He didn’t know how to bring the warmth back into his life, now that his sun was gone. I have loved this series so much, devouring every word and I was so conflicted seeing Angela and Kieran together and loving how great they were together, but feeling so bad for Soren at the same time. I wasn’t really sure how Ms. Vaughn was going to approach this story, what direction she’d take- so my mind was reeling with the possibilities. I did have high expectations, because Soren really needed something good to happen to him to make up for so much heartache. I loved what Ms. Vaughn did with this story and it was every bit as good as I had hoped it would be. Even though I knew Ms. Vaughn wouldn’t make it easy for Soren and would make him ‘work for his happiness. I also love how much more of Soren we get to see. Even after 4 other books, there was still quite substantial character growth and development.
“He had long ago made peace with his father’s inability to show affection. If he was honest with himself, he even saw a bit of it in his own mannerisms. He had been taught that it was better to say or do nothing rather than say or do the wrong thing. It took losing Angela for him to realize how much like his father he had become. Which was why he’d run away to Costa Rica. He was tired of living his father’s plan for him. He wanted to distance himself from everything that defined him—investment banking, Europe, his family—so he could figure out who he really was, or really wanted to be.”
Soren really stepped out of his comfort zone, as well as out from his father’s shadow. He relocates to a new country, abandoning everything he knows, for a fresh start. He learns the native language and makes some friends. Life slowly gets brighter and begins to look up for him. Little does he know how much a surfing session would change his life, as an accident nearly costs him everything, but also introduces Elena into his world. I was surprised by how much I liked Elena, after Angela I wasn’t sure I would be able to connect with her, but I shouldn’t have worried as Ms. Vaughn has never let me down before. Elena is all woman. Sexy, sassy and vibrant. I loved the banter between her and the other characters. But Elena has some secrets which will come into play and gives this story another added element of intrigue. What happens when her past threatens their new-found happiness? You really should read all the fantastic details for yourself, I’m sure you will enjoy the book/series just as much as I have! I loved Ms. Vaughn’s attention to detail, and the way she used her words to bring her story and characters to life. The whole series has been wonderfully captivating- and I am hard pressed to pick a favourite because the series just seems to get better and better with each new instalment. I am still convinced that this series would make a superb Television mini-series! It really is different from a lot of other reads- the descriptions and scene setting are so vivid, rich and vibrant- I was “seeing’ it in pictures, rather than merely reading the words. All the sights, smells and tastes of the book come alive, transporting me to Costa Rica alongside the characters. A fantastic addition to the series and another splendid read from a talented author!

Ring Tru is the first book in the Thick As Thieves Series by Janice M. Whiteaker. What a great way to start off a new series! I was hooked right from the first chapter. This is a brilliant second chances romance, with mystery, suspense, danger, intrigue, steam, tension, love, loss, heartache, hate, jewel thieves, friendships, plots, plans, and more. Gertrude (Tru) has been in her line of business now for 15 years and is ready for a fresh start. But to make that happen, she needs to do one last job, so she can start over. She’s got just the right heist to set her up for the next stage of her life and she has put a lot of effort into setting things up and hopes she’ll soon see the fruits of her labour. Then he walks back into her life, and things get complicated. Will and Tru have a history, and yes, he had hurt her, badly. But he thought he was doing what was best for her at the time. That was 5 years ago…. and now, she hates him. He really wonders if he did the right thing when he walked away. They are obviously working the same score, but for two different reasons. If he can’t find a way to get her to trust him and agree to work together, it may cost them a lot more than some jewels. But, there is definitely more to the situation than first meets the eye, and things soon take a dangerous turn. Will he risk everything to protect her? Was the pain he caused her too deep for her to get past? Will they realise that there is a fine line between love and hate, and they never really stopped loving each other – both suffering for the past 5 years? Will they leave with what they came for, or something far more valuable? Highly recommended reading!! Can’t wait for book #2!

This Trilogy by Jane Suen is a fast pace read. I want to be upfront because you may not put it down until you have read all three books. Jane Suen is an amazing author that interweaves her characters that will make your head spin. These stories are about three women, Gigi, Ellen, and Lily and Dr. Kite. There are different stories for each woman but have one story with Dr. Kite that keep your interest peaked. There is so much passion and love put into the women that you can relate to them and become part of their world. On the other hand, Dr. Kite has been through many trials and tribulations. The women will have questions that will need to be answered by Dr. Kite. When does that happen will they have love and a future to look forward to?

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3) By K.L. Montgomery 5 Stars
WOW! Being a newcomer to K.L. Montgomery, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of her books. To say I was blown away is putting it mildly! The Romance in Rehoboth boxed set gives you the first 3 books in this amazing series.
From the awesomeness that is Fat Girl, the 1st book in the series, you’re introduced to Claire Sterling. Her life may not be what she thought it would be but she is determined to re-invent herself! The characters, flow, and story (although it was a bit of memoir read) all came together to give the reader so much. The self-deprecating humor and subject matter that K.L. Montgomery spin in this book kept me entertained until the very end.
Then on to book 2, The Flip! Another great read from K.L. Montgomery introduces you to Andrew and Sonnet. These two have been competing against each other since they were 8 years old. To find out that Andrew’s great aunt has passed and bequeathed her home to both of them. As they renovate the home they begin to see they are not the same people that they were. Sparks fly and the house may not be the only thing that gets fixed! The Flip was more a “traditional” romance and Ms. Montgomery continues with her positive body image theme! Thoroughly enjoyable!
The final book in this box set is Plot Twist and Ms. Montgomery keeps on giving us the GOOD!! Meric & Lindy headline this third installment. But don’t worry, Ms. Montgomery continues with characters from past books popping in and new characters falling in love hooking you in with this series! Meric & Lindy both have ideas of how this production is going to go. Too bad there’s always scene changes and plot twists with any production! This rom-com was super fun to read!

Give and Take by Lee Kilraine is the second book in her Thorne Brothers series. I had not read the first book when I started reading this one and I think it was pretty ok to read it as a standalone though I did go and get the first book after finishing Wyatt and Rhia’s story and I noted down in my Google calendar when the third book is supposed to be released. Give and Take is the story of Wyatt Thorne, the youngest of the six brothers, and Rhia Hollis, the only one in her family who does not have close-to-genius-level IQ and doesn’t have even the slightest desire to work in ‘respectable and steady’ fields. Wyatt is quiet (he did not speak for six years after his mother left him and his five brothers with their monster father) and control freak! Rhia is perky, colourful and flighty (at least that is what his family thinks). I absolutely loved how the writer gives us an amazing story where you both laugh until you snort and cry your heart out, where you feel deep and step light … the way she reminds us that there are monsters out there and that still, you can come out on the other side (though a bit damaged but still alive and kicking), and that sometimes on the surface one seems to have a perfect family but because you do not fit in, you get bullied and humiliated and you need to pull together everything you have and also come out on the other side! Thank you for a great story and I am looking forward to the other brothers’ stories with abated breath!

Painting Kuwait Violet by Pamela Q Fernandes is a book that stays with you … it is not one of the ones that you just inhale and enjoy for a moment and then move on to a next one … In some ways I have really hard time to really describe it … I have to say that I had to take breaks when reading it, it left me unsettled and quiet and pondering and … it had been a while since I had read something that so deeply dug into a foreign culture (foreign to me) and the layers of humanity and a world where woman have no say and are supressed and where other human beings are considered subpar … and then mix it with a mystery … Violet is a young and well educated woman from Goa who takes a position as a maid in Kuwait to pay off her families debts. She starts to work for a wealthy woman Sabah Dashti. In some ways we are given two stories – the story of Violet and her surprising friendship with Sabah in this patriarchal world, and the mystery that shows us abuse and murder and injustice … what a powerful writing! I cannot get Sabah’s thoughts out of my head as somehow they resonated so deep as it hit close to home … “She knew trust was like paper. Once crushed, it would never be pristine again, to be discarded as worthless trash. Money and status could not restore what she had tossed away”.
Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers) by Lee Kilraine. This is the second book about 6 Brothers Construction developed to reunite a family. Wyatt Thorne is one of the brothers. He has overcome a traumatic past, he didn’t even speak til he was 6 because his mother abandoned him. Rhia Hollis is known as the reckless party girl but she’s trying really hard to change that image. Her new business is going to help change that image. She is opening a Premier Party Planning business and when Beckett, Wyatt’s brother offers her unused office space for free she is so excited. Will Wyatt burst her bubble because she is just the type of girl Wyatt despises. Once they meet fireworks soar in more ways than one. This is a funny, which I love, emotional and sexy read.

Must Love Fashion, by Deborah Garland, is the first book in the Darling Cove series. This contemporary romance is based on two individuals that work within the fashion industry – one more established than the other, but no less determined to find their place and make their mark. Gwen and Andrew were captivating characters in this story from their strong personalities and how they approach and tackle their goals. The chemistry that trickles is hard to deny noting it’s sizzling heat.
The past reflects in how they each approach others and the decisions they make. As things begin to shift in their environments, I really liked how the author allowed the story to play out and building it from there. Must Love Fashion was a pleasant read that I recommend for others who enjoy contemporary romances with a bit more depth, creativity and style.

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow she blew me away. I love a good shifter story but this book exceeded all my expectations. I have read a few shifter books but I have never read about dragons and I’m so glad I did. I was hooked on this story right from the start. This is the first book of the Fire’s Edge series and I loved it. You can’t help but to fall in love with all of these wonderful characters. It only took me a couple of days to devour this amazing story.
Finn Conleth is the leader of the enforcers and they are not your average men. They all are dragon shifters. He is the boss and he leads his men like an army. Finn thought he found his mate along time ago but he was dead wrong. He can’t let no one get into his heart again until he meets the beautiful Delaney. There has been an outbreak on wildfires which they think is dragon related. Finn and his crew show up to a winery that is on fire and he saves this woman’s life. He feels a strong connection to her but he is not going to act on it. When Finn finds out that another dragon wants to claim Delaney as his he has no choice but to protect her at any cost. Will Finn be able to protect Delaney or will he bring her into more danger?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. Finn is a beautiful man that has a lot of walls up. He is very cold hearted but the way he is with Delaney will make your heart melt. Delaney is beautiful woman that can bring the sass. She has a lot of questions to what is going on with her lately. These two characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write for us next. Review by @heatherbass View all my reviews

Ring Tru by Janice M. Whiteaker is the first book in the Thick as Thieves series. For me this book caught my attention with the blurb – I hadn’t read a romance book before that involved a thief as a main character. And it worked really well. Tru and Will were believable, not only as characters on their own but also as ones together. You could feel the connection between them which made them so easy to connect with. This was a new author for me and I was impressed with the writing style and how she takes you on a journey. This was a great read that I throughly enjoyed.View all my reviews

Can’t Forget: If She Can’t Forget About Her Past, She Won’t Have a Future by Colleen S Myers is the second book in the Solum series. We are taken back into the lives of Beta and Marin. Beta knows that the E’mani won’t just let her life her life. She knows they will come for her. And she can’t wait to exact revenge when that happens. But with her heart also on the line the fight is even more dangerous. This book was as good as the first, if not better. Because the characters were so well developed in book one it was extremely easy to slip back into their story. I couldn’t wait to find out how this story would develop and I was definitely not disappointed. Give and Take is the 2nd part of the Thorne Brothers series by Lee Kilraine. It is the first book I have read by the author, but I plan to read more. I did not go in order, and didn’t read book 1, Give it Up, yet. But I still really enjoyed this book, the characters were great. Their chemistry was entertaining and I didn’t want to put it down. It has a good balance of evolving story and romance. The story is based around Rhia Hollins and Wyatt Throne. Rhia is developing her new party planning business, and trying to finally make her parents proud. She has won a year of free office space from Six Brothers Construction. However, unforeseen circumstances, has her sharing an office with the youngest Thorne brother, Wyatt. He is studying to pass his architect exams, so he can start working in the family business, and is all work and no play. They could not be more opposite in personalities, but you know what they say, opposites attract.
